UTSA Transfer Jordan Ivy-Curry lists Auburn in his final three

The senior guard is coming off a superb season for the Roadrunners by averaging 17.1 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3 assists per game.

Former UTSA guard [autotag]Jordan Ivy-Curry[/autotag] has listed Auburn as one of the three final programs he’ll be looking to transfer to next college basketball season. The Tigers join ACC program Wake Forest and recent Big 12 addition UCF as the three finalists on Ivy-Curry’s list. He is set to visit all three schools this week, with his trip to the Plains being the final stop on Thursday.

The senior guard is coming off a superb season for the Roadrunners averaging 17.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3 assists per game. The offensive output was by far the best of his four-year college career, which started at UTSA before the La Marque, TX native took a one-year pit stop to play for Pacific.

Ivy-Curry was set to join the Virginia Tech Hokies shortly after he entered the transfer portal but decided to re-open his recruitment, giving Auburn a chance to snag another mid-major guard after missing out on Duke Miles to Oklahoma late last month.

If [autotag]Bruce Pearl[/autotag] and the Tiger staff can land the electrifying guard, he would provide a nice complimentary piece to the newly acquired [autotag]JP Pegues[/autotag] and incumbent [autotag]Denver Jones[/autotag] and [autotag]Chad Baker-Mazara[/autotag]. We’ll see if he decides his future after his visits conclude later this week.

Auburn TE commit Hollis Davidson decommits from the Plains

After being committed to Auburn for three months, 2025 tight end Hollis Davidson announces he is decommitting from the program on Monday

Auburn football is currently attempting to make statements on the recruiting trail for both the near and far future. While commitments continue to come in, the Tigers now have to recover from a decommitment on Monday.

[autotag]Hollis Davidson[/autotag], a 2025 tight end out of Mcintosh High School (Ga.), announced that he is opening his recruitment back up after being committed to the program since Feb. 6.

Davidson was a part of this Tiger 2025 recruiting class with fellow tight end Ryan Ghea out of Alpharetta. He is ranked to the No. 23 tight end in the nation and No. 44 player in Georgia according to the On3 industry ranking. He chose Auburn over Miami, Florida and Florida State three months ago.

The product from Peachtree City announced on X that he felt it was too early to make a final decision, and after discussing it with his family, made the decision to decommit.

The Tigers’ 2025 class now ranks No. 10 nationally and No. 5 in the SEC according to On3, still trying to get coach [autotag]Hugh Freeze[/autotag] some solid targets as the recruiting cycle rolls on.

Raiders signing longtime Saints offensive lineman Andrus Peat

Andrus Peat arguably saved the Saints’ season by replacing Trevor Penning at left tackle. But he’ll be playing for the Raiders in 2024:

The New Orleans Saints made a big bet that their offensive line will be just fine without Andrus Peat, and we’re about to see whether it pays off. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that the Las Vegas Raiders are signing Peat as a free agent after the 2024 draft. The Saints drafted Peat back in 2015, out of Stanford, and he went on to earn three Pro Bowl nods as an alternate.

Peat arguably saved the Saints’ season by replacing Trevor Penning at left tackle after six disastrous starts in 2023, which was a bit of a surprise. He hadn’t played that position since the 2018 regular season finale, with more than twice as many career snaps played at left guard (4,35) than left tackle (1,948). We can dissect his performance but the offense was at least functional once he took over on Derek Carr’s blind side. Now the Saints are back where they started with Peat slotted in at left tackle and no clear starter available at left guard after James Hurst retired. Peat’s presence would have improved either position’s outlook.

It’s curious that the Saints’ leadership team was so ambivalent about re-signing Peat all offseason. They let him test the market in free agency back in March, accruing $13.6 million in dead money that could have been spread out with a new contract. But neither Mickey Loomis nor Dennis Allen expressed much interest in re-signing Peat when asked about it. Maybe his injury history outweighed his recent efforts. Either way, he’ll be playing against his former team when the Raiders visit the Caesars Superdome in the fall.

Akron transfer OL Ronan Chambers commits to Auburn

Chambers flipped his commitment to Auburn from Tulane following a recent visit to the Plains.

Auburn football continues to add depth to a crucial position by reeling in another offensive lineman from the transfer portal.

[autotag]Ronan Chambers[/autotag], a former Akron offensive lineman, broke off his commitment to Tulane after a recent visit to Auburn. On Monday, he announced his pledge to Auburn, becoming Auburn’s fifth transfer portal commitment during the spring window. Outside of Tulane, Chambers considered BYU and Arizona.

Chambers started all 12 games for Akron last season according to Pro Football Focus, alternating between left and right tackle. He played in 724 snaps and graded out at 58.0. He participated in 32 games over four seasons totaling 1,342 snaps.

Chambers is the second transfer offensive lineman to join Auburn’s roster from the transfer portal. Former Mississippi State tackle [autotag]Percy Lewis[/autotag] is expected to grab a starting tackle spot alongside [autotag]Izavion Miller[/autotag]. Chambers is expected to provide depth at the position.

Following Chambers’ commitment, Auburn now has 14 transfers in its 2024 haul and ranks No. 28 in 247Sports’ transfer portal rankings.

Cowboys WR Jalen Tolbert looking forward to bigger role, smaller jersey number in 2023

From @ToddBrock24f7: Tolbert will wear No. 1 this season and aim to get a stranglehold on the team’s WR3 slot, with a little help from veteran Brandin Cooks.

Among the Cowboys players who took a giant leap from 2022 to 2023 was wide receiver Jalen Tolbert. The third-round pick out of South Alabama was practically invisible within the Dallas offense as a rookie, catching just two balls on the season for 12 yards across eight game appearances.

Things took a dramatic turn for the better last year, with the 25-year-old seeing action in every contest of the season, watching his targets go up by 1,100%, and scoring his first two NFL touchdowns, all while becoming a more trusted part of Dak Prescott’s pass-catching arsenal.

Last season, Tolbert was vying with Michael Gallup for reps. Now Gallup is gone, and the WR3 spot is there for the taking.

Tolbert plans to make the most of his coming chance.

“Having an opportunity to fill a role in the offense and be able to step up and make a lot more plays for the offense- and for the team as well- is special,” Tolbert told reporters from the dugout at last week’s Reliant Home Run Derby charity event, “and I’m looking forward to doing it and continuing to grow each and every day to be what the team needs me to be.”

Helping him get there is Brandin Cooks. The 11th-year veteran was cast into a strong mentorship role in his first season with the Cowboys, but he’s taking it even further this year. And he’s treating Tolbert as his protege, already hosting him at his home in Oregon for over a week this offseason.

“He came out [for] just a couple days last year, but I wanted to have him out there a little longer this year, just kind of show him the ropes,” Cooks said last week. “For me, I remember Steve Smith let me stay at his house for a couple weeks when I was young. It’s all about passing it along, right? You gain knowledge, you pass it along. That’s what this game is all about.”

Cooks believes that Tolbert has the goods to take an even bigger step in this, his third season in the pros.

“The kid is special,” Cooks explained. “The ability, the talent is there. I just look forward to him really getting his shot and being out there.”

Tolbert readily admits that he’s looking to “just go out there and chase greatness,” and he maintains he’s as confident as ever now that he’ll be returning for a second straight year of Mike McCarthy’s offensive gameplan.

If there were any questions about the lofty expectations Tolbert has for himself, he’ll make that crystal-clear when he takes the field wearing the No. 1 jersey for the Cowboys in 2023.

“It’s a blessing,” he said of the switch. “Not a lot of people get to, obviously, play for the Dallas Cowboys, but to also be able to wear a single digit and one that holds a little value like that one. Like I say, I love the opportunity that I have in front of me and looking forward to representing that No. 1 well, just as Cedrick Wilson did when he had it on.”

Wilson was a versatile role-player on the team for three seasons. With the same kind of incremental jump this year that he took from Year One to Year Two, though, Tolbert could blow past Wilson statistically and truly make the No. 1 jersey his own, after short- and largely forgettable- stints in it by Jayron Kearse and Kelvin Joseph.

For Tolbert, this is the year to cement his place as a legitimate receiving threat and start attacking even bigger goals.

“Not to set them too high,” he said, “but, I mean, do what a lot of people think that I can’t do and that I know that I can do. That’s my goal, is to go out and prove to myself that I am who I say I am.”

He’s already proving it to his 30-year-old teammate and mentor.

“With Brandin Cooks coming in and being a mentor to me helped me a lot in understanding the game and the little things that you need to be great at this level. He’s done it for a long time, so having him in my corner as well is special,” Tolbert said.

“I know one thing for sure: he’s not going to let me fail, and I’m not going to let myself fail, so that’s a good situation to be in.”

Auburn football offers four-star RB Carsyn Baker

The 2026 running back rushed for 303 yards and three scores for a loaded Langston Hughes (Ga.) squad in 2023.

Langston Hughes High School in Fairburn, Georgia has become a factory for premier football talent. Players such as Ohio State QB Air Noland, UCF safety Jakob Gude, and Auburn safety [autotag]Terrance Love[/autotag] all played for Langston Hughes before making their way into the Power Five ranks.

It would be fair to say that Langston Hughes’ football program will continue to produce top-notch talent in the future, which is why Auburn head coach [autotag]Hugh Freeze[/autotag] and running backs coach [autotag]Derrick Nix[/autotag] is working to lock down one of Hughes’ future pieces.

[autotag]Carsyn Baker[/autotag], a class of 2026 three-star running back from Langston Hughes High School in Fairburn, Georgia, announced Monday that he has received an offer from Auburn. Auburn is the latest SEC program to extend an offer to the talented running back joining South Carolina and Ole Miss.

Despite Langston Hughes having a loaded offensive unit in 2023, Baker managed to contribute to their success. He appeared in nine games last season where he rushed for 303 yards and a touchdown on 31 carries. He rushed for 100 yards on five touches in Langston Hughes’ 56-9 win over Paulding County on Nov. 9.

Baker is a 6-0, 195-pound running back who is rated as a three-star back by On3 and 247Sports. However, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings, he is a four-star that is the No. 21 overall running back in the nation. Ole Miss and South Carolina are the top schools to watch currently, but expect Auburn to join the mix now that an offer has been extended.

Browns land explosive Texas WR in way-too-early 2025 NFL mock draft

It’s early, but this 2025 NFL mock draft has the Browns selecting a wide receiver early.

With the 2024 NFL draft long gone, there are a handful of maniacs who are already writing way too early 2025 NFL mock drafts. Draft Wire’s Curt Popejoy is one of them as he has the Cleveland Browns selecting Texas wide receiver Isaiah Bond with their first first round pick in three years.

Bond has not yet taken a snap for the Longhorns, transferring from the University of Alabama this past offseason. Seeing his first significant action with the Crimson Tide in 2024, Bond racked up 668 yards and four touchdowns on 48 catches.

The Browns need a wide receiver, even after trading Day 3 picks for Jerry Jeudy and selecting Jamari Thrash in the fifth round at the end of April. Both Amari Cooper and Elijah Moore are slated for free agency, so the selection of a wide receiver makes a great deal of sense.

However, hopefully, they select one with a bit more production and proven playmaking ability than Bond has at this point.

Browns projected to receive two 7th-round comp picks for exits of Sione Takitaki, Harrison Bryant

The Browns are unofficially projected to receive two late-round comp picks for the departures of two free agents.

The Cleveland Browns are set to see two more late-round picks added to their tally in the 2025 NFL draft after the departure of two free agents. Losing tight end Harrison Bryant and linebacker Sione Takitaki to the Las Vegas Raiders and New England Patriots respectively, the Browns are slated to receive an additional seventh round pick for each.

While this information is unofficial, the compensatory pick formula has been cracked by Over the Cap, and this information is as close to gold as it gets without being verified and released by the NFL.

Already with eight picks in the 2025 NFL draft in their possession, these two unofficial compensatory picks would push their total to double digits. Seeing how general manager Andrew Berry has used Day 3 picks to land talents like wide receivers Amari Cooper and Jerry Jeudy, as well as defensive end Za’Darius Smith, these picks are nothing to scoff at.

Photos from LSU baseball’s series win over No. 1 Texas A&M

The Tigers took down the No. 1 team in the nation to earn their third series win in a row over the weekend.

LSU had already gotten its season slightly back on track after an 0-5 start in SEC series, taking back-to-back against Missouri and Auburn. But this weekend was the first real sign that the Tigers may be turning things around.

They took a crucial series against No. 1-ranked Texas A&M in Baton Rouge, taking the first two games before losing in blowout fashion in Game 3 on Sunday. Still, that result helped LSU quite a bit, both in terms of its hopes of making the SEC tournament and getting back into NCAA consideration.

With a big win over the top team in the nation in the books, LSU is preparing for a midweek game at home against Northwestern State before it hits the road for a three-game set against Alabama.

In the meantime, here are the best photos from this weekend’s series win.

When you’ve been on top for as long as Tom Brady has been, it only makes sense that the masses would try to tear him down. Except, on Sunday, he allowed it to happen of his own volition.

Brady was a good sport by participating in a roast as hosted by Netflix on Sunday. The former Michigan football star and NFL GOAT took jabs from every angle and the world was the big winner on Sunday night judging by the reactions.

With other sports looming large with the NBA and NHL playoffs in full swing and the MLB starting off, it was a night where football could recapture the attention of those starving for the gridiron. Jim Harbaugh and Charles Woodson were among the Michigan football contingent who made it to the roast, while there were a ton of other celebrities and NFL personalities who attended.

Here are the best pictures we could find from the Netflix roast of Tom Brady, which took place in Los Angeles.
