Every UFC newcomer in 2024: Full list of over 100 debuting fighters

Check out the names and records of each fighter who made their UFC debut in 2024.

Every year, the UFC welcomes new faces to the promotion.

Some will become ranked fighters, future title challengers, and possibly champions. A couple of names have already made a significant impact in their debut year.

Kayla Harrison, who is ranked No. 2 by the promotion in the women’s bantamweight division, is likely next up for a title shot. Carlos Prates claimed No. 14 in the welterweight division after ripping through four opponents.

On the flip side, unfortunately, some of the names will fizzle out and look to continue their careers in other promotions.

In 2024, the new names and faces reached triple digits, totaling 103. Those fighters went 46-57. Debuting fighters who faced an opponent with at least one bout of UFC experience went 29-39.

With 2024 a wrap for the UFC, see a breakdown of how much money was paid under the Promotional Guidelines Compliance program.

Fighters from Saturday’s UFC on ESPN 63 event took home UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance pay totaling $208,500.

The program, a comprehensive plan that includes outfitting requirements, media obligations and other items under the fighter code of conduct, replaces the previous payments made under the UFC Athlete Outfitting Policy.

UFC on ESPN 63 took place at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla. The card aired on ESPN2 and streamed on ESPN+.

Under the UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance program’s payout tiers, which appropriate the money generated by Venum’s multi-year sponsorship with the UFC, fighters are paid based on their total number of UFC bouts, as well as Zuffa-era WEC fights (January 2007 and later) and Zuffa-era Strikeforce bouts (April 2011 and later). Fighters with 1-3 bouts receive $4,000 per appearance; 4-5 bouts get $4,630; 6-10 bouts get $6,000; 11-15 bouts earn $11,000; 16-20 bouts pocket $16,000; and 21 bouts and more get $21,000. Additionally, champions earn $32,000 while title challengers get $42,000.

In addition to experience-based pay, UFC fighters will receive in perpetuity royalty payments amounting to 20-63 percent of any UFC merchandise sold that bears their likeness, according to officials.

UFC Tampa adds Davey Grant vs. Ramon Taveras

Two UFC bantamweights will collide in front of a packed Amalie Arena in Tampa.

The final event of 2024 has gained another fight.

Bantamweights [autotag]Davey Grant[/autotag] and [autotag]Ramon Taveras[/autotag] will collide in a three-round bout at the UFC on ESPN 63 on Dec. 14 at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla.

Two people with knowledge of the matchup recently informed MMA Junkie of the booking but asked to remain anonymous as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.

In his first action since July 2023, Grant (13-7 MMA, 6-6 UFC) aims to rebound from a split decision loss to Daniel Marcos. The defeat snapped a two-fight winning streak.

Taveras (10-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) has won back-to-back fights. He made his debut in January when he won a debated (and highly entertaining) split decision in a rematch vs. Serhiy Sidey, a fighter who controversially defeated him on Dana White’s Contender Series.

Ramon Taveras withdraws from UFC 304 vs. Caolan Loughran: ‘It sucks that it came to this’

UFC 304 is down a man due to a “serious injury.”

UFC 304 is down a man.

Bantamweight [autotag]Ramon Taveras[/autotag] is off the July 27 event at Co-op Live in Manchester, England due to “serious” injury, he announced Wednesday in a lengthy Instagram post.

Taveras (10-2 MMA, ) was matched with Ireland’s [autotag]Caolan Loughran[/autotag] (9-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC). It’s unclear if the promotion is seeking a replacement.

“It’s unfortunate I have to make a post like this but I’m going to trust in Gods plan and make the smart decision to avoid making my situation worse and prolong my return,” Taveras wrote on Instagram. “Today I had to pull from my fight next Saturday due to a serious injury. I worked so hard this fight camp and it sucks that it came to this.”

While Taveras didn’t reveal the specifics of the injury, he indicated camp was a mental and physical battle that ended in unfortunate fashion.

“I worked my way out of depression and into getting in the best shape I’ve been in,” Taveras wrote. “I stayed disciplined and got myself out of being fat (176) and mentally fu*ked. … But I promise to keep this same mentality during my recovery and become the best version of myself through this recovery process. You guys deserve the best version of me and that’s what I will give you guys. Wouldn’t want this midget getting a dub over me cause of an injury.”

Not typically one to bite his tongue, Loughran voiced displeasure in a social media post minutes after Taveras’ announcement. Loughran indicated he wants to remain on the card.

“Catch deez hands just pulled out,” Loughran wrote on X. “I text him a few days after the bout was signed saying he would. This Games not for everybody. The UFC are the best in the world and they’ll sort it. Been here before will fight anyone. Yeno that.”

Serhiy Sidey unbothered by having to run things back with Ramon Taveras at UFC 297

Serhiy Sidey is no stranger to rematches, and another is coming at UFC 297.

TORONTO – [autotag]Serhiy Sidey[/autotag] is no stranger to rematches.

Sidey (10-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) runs things back with [autotag]Ramon Taveras[/autotag] (9-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC) in Saturday’s event at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.

Sidey earned a UFC contract when he knocked out Taveras at Dana White’s Contender Series 61 in September – a stoppage that UFC CEO Dana White called “one of the worst ref stoppages” he’s ever seen. Taveras made good in his second opportunity at a contract when he scored a 29-second finish at DWCS 63.

UFC 297 will mark Sidey’s third rematch.

“Honestly, it’s not that weird,” Sidey told MMA Junkie and other reporters at Wednesday’s UFC 296 media day. “In my professional career I’ve had two rematches and I did it twice, and I finished those guys the second time around quicker than the first time. So honestly, it’s nothing new for me. I made the adjustments, I’m just going to do this in a cleaner fashion this time.”

Sidey relishes the opportunity to top his first-round finish of Taveras at home.

“Some people might say it’s pressure, but I live for this pressure,” Sidey said. “I live for the fact that I get to perform in front of people, in front of my loved ones. I fought so many fights where I was in enemy territory, fighting with the hometown disadvantage but this time, I’m going to use that energy of the crowd and I’m going to fuel it for this fight.”
