A bug going around the Panthers locker room has forced Carolina to make a couple of more changes going into Sunday’s matchup with the Colts.

According to team reporter Max Henson, defensive tackle Woodrow Hamilton has been ruled out due to an illness. Offensive lineman Matt Kaskey is getting promoted from the practice squad to take his place on the active roster. In a corresponding move, linebacker Ramik Wilson was waived.

Center Matt Paradis has also come down sick, but he has no official status as of yet. Paradis has disappointed this season, especially in pass protection. If he can’t go, expect Tyler Larsen to take his place in the lineup.

Defensive tackle Vernon Butler also has the bug. He is listed as questionable, as is wide receiver Curtis Samuel (knee). Both are expected to play, though.

Carolina Panthers sign former Georgia football LB

The Carolina Panthers have signed a former Georgia football linebacker.

The Carolina Panthers have added a former Georgia Bulldog linebacker to their active roster.

Ramik Wilson signed with Panthers on Wednesday, taking the roster spot opened up when the team released former Wake Forest wide receiver Greg Dortch.

The former Bulldog was drafted in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs, where he played three seasons.

After being released by the Chiefs, Wilson signed with the Rams, starting four games and playing in all sixteen during last season’s Super Bowl run.

This season, he has mostly been with the Arizona Cardinals.

Panthers waive Greg Dortch again, promote linebacker from practice squad

It’s been a revolving door for the Panthers at the kick returner spots this season.

It’s been a revolving door for the Panthers at the kick returner spots this season. The carousel continued to turn on Tuesday when the team waived Greg Dortch for the second time this year. Dortch fumbled another return in Sunday’s loss to the Falcons.

This morning, the team announced that move as well as a corresponding one to fill out the 53-man roster. Linebacker Ramik Wilson has been promoted from the practice squad, according to the official team website.

Wilson (6-foot-2, 238 pounds) was a fourth-round pick by the Chiefs in the 2015 NFL draft. After three years in Kansas City, he played for the Rams last season and one game for the Cardinals in 2019. Wilson has 21 career starts but he’s mostly been a backup. He’s totaled 146 combined tackles (15 for a loss), 10 QB hits and two defensive touchdowns.

The Panthers also signed wide receiver/kick returner Bobo Wilson to take his place on the practice squad.
