Glen Powell addressed the Mission Impossible rumors with a funny quote about his mom

Honestly, mom might be right on this one.

The newest trailer for the upcoming eighth Mission: Impossible movie dropped on Monday, ramping up excitement for Ethan Hunt and The Final Reckoning. Tom Cruise once again returns as the lead, looking to somehow outdo his hanging off a dangling train car or jumping off a cliff on a motorcycle stunts.

A report from Hollywood writer Jeff Sneider (@theinsneider) on Tuesday floated the idea that Cruise had his Hunt-in-waiting lined up in Top Gun: Maverick co-star Glen Powell. ESPN’s Pat McAfee wasted no time trying to get to the bottom of the rumor, calling the Twisters actor during Tuesday’s Pat McAfee Show.

When asked about the rumor, Powell had the perfect retort in denial. “My mom would never let me do that.”

The Mission: Impossible Final Reckoning trailer has Tom Cruise hanging off planes again

Final Reckoning somehow seems to takes the action up a notch further.

We’re back, everybody. There is finally a trailer for what is potentially the Tom Cruise’s final Mission: Impossible movie, and it’s unsurprisingly full of mind-blowing stunts and action. Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning comes out on May 23, 2025, and it’s the sequel to 2023’s Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning.

Cruise returns as Ethan Hunt, and he will attempt to take down The Entity and Gabriel (Esai Morales) and avenge the death of Ilsa Faust (Rebecca Ferguson) as he once again saves the world. Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames and Hayley Atwell all return to reprise their roles from part one as well.

The sequel will once again feature Cruise hanging off the side of at least one plane, plus aerial battles, underwater sequences, hand-to-hand combat and so much running.

Taylor Swift returned to Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday afternoon as the Kansas City Chiefs hosted the Denver Broncos. It was a wildly close affair, with the Chiefs remaining undefeated thanks to a blocked field goal as time expired.

It was the fifth game of the season for the 14-time Grammy winner, and she’s seemingly getting used to the process of arriving at the stadium. This weekend, after being dropped off by a golf cart, the security team was trying to clear some space.

As one of the guys barked for photographers and nearby people to stay back, the singer sweetly offered a correction. “Stay back, please” Swift said with a smile.

The duo frequently films fun postgame recaps together, and Gordon is known to post adorable pictures from the game with the 14-time Grammy winner.

The 14-time Grammy nominee arrived in style for Sunday’s clash with the Broncos.

With only nine more shows of the Eras Tour remaining across two Canadian cities, Taylor Swift has been able to make it to more Chiefs games. The 14-time Grammy winner — who is up for six more at the 2025 awards ceremony — made the trip on Sunday afternoon to Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City to support her boyfriend Travis Kelce as they welcome the Denver Broncos.

The Chiefs are the lone undefeated team remaining in the NFL this season, something Bo Nix and the Broncos will hope to change.

For the matchup, Swift wore a very chic red plaid jacket and skirt combo with a black corset top and tall black leather boots.

Bill Burr’s SNL Buffalo Wild Wings ad featured him as a very disgruntled Patriots fan

The Massachusetts native was perfection.

Comedian Bill Burr was back as the host of Saturday Night Live this weekend, and he perfectly leaned into his New England roots for a couple skits. A native of Canton, Massachusetts, Burr broke out his accent for a play on Good Will Hunting and then donned a Patriots jersey for a fake Buffalo Wild Wings ad.

In the skit, fans of the Lions, Chiefs and even Giants were elated to be at BWW having good food and cheap beer as they watched their teams win. Then there was Burr’s Pats fan, who repeatedly smashed his fist on the bar, stole beer from the tap and argued with his son.

Every Grammy nomination Taylor Swift earned for 2025: A complete list

The Eras Tour performer is up for six more awards this year.

The 2025 Grammy nominations were announced Friday morning, celebrating the best in music from this year.

Beyoncé earned the most nominations with 11, making her the most nominated artist in the history of the awards. Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, Charlie XCX and Post Malone were next with seven nominations each, followed by Taylor Swift and breakout artists Chappell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter with six apiece.

As expected, Swift and her The Tortured Poets Department album garnered a lot of accolades, including nominations for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album. Her collaboration on “Fortnight” with Post Malone was nominated for Song of the Year, Record of the Year and Best Music Video, and Swift’s feature on Gracie Abrams’ “us.” is up for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

The 2025 Grammys are on Sunday, February 2 in Los Angeles.

Will the New York Times have the Needle for the election?

The New York Times’ popular election needle might not make an appearance for 2024.

All eyes in the United States are on the results of the 2024 election on Tuesday and many of them will likely look to the New York Times for coverage.

Famously, the New York Times has used the Needle in previous elections to show live forecasts in the form of a handy semicircle chart. On it, a needle moves back and forth between sections to showcase the confidence of how a race is going. After the 2016 election, the Needle was often cited as a source of anxiety for election watchers, but also spawned some pretty great memes.

However, for 2024, the Needle might be in jeopardy due to a strike organized by tech workers from the New York Times. The nearly 700 unionized workers in the New York Times Tech Guild have been looking to reach an agreement with the organization on a new contract with “better wages, hours, benefits and job security” among other things.

As such, the Needle may or may not make an appearance on Tuesday.

Guess we’ll have to see how things unfold!

Chariah Gordon talks Taylor Swift friendship and ‘breaking the internet’ with Travis Kelce kiss photo

The friendship between Chariah Gordon and Taylor Swift continues to grow. The duo bonded last season at a suite at Arrowhead Stadium, and an adorably sweet picture posted by Gordon of her, her fiancé Mecole Hardman, Swift and Travis Kelce was one of the first glimpses fans saw of the 14-time Grammy winners relationship with the Kansas City tight end.

In a recent exclusive interview with PEOPLE Gordon described what it’s like hanging out with arguably the most famous woman in the world. “She’s fun, she’s loving, she’s sweet,” Gordon said of Swift. “We have a good time and we are there to support our men. She’s just one of the sweetest people ever… that’s just that.”

While we mostly see Gordon and Swift together at Chiefs games, the former recently made the trip to Indianapolis to take in Swift’s Eras Tour show. Gordon likes to keep things private for the “Fortnight” singer, but they have also done some postgame recaps together and those group photos that the Swifties love so much.

“I had no expectations,” Gordon said of that first picture she posted of the singer. “I just really honestly posted because we had a good time and it was a really nice photo.”

Taylor Swift arrived for Chiefs-Buccaneers in a chic black outfit to support Travis Kelce

Swift is back in Kansas City to support the Chiefs.

Taylor Swift wrapped up her United States shows of her massively popular Eras Tours on Sunday night, finishing up a three-night stand in Indianapolis. The 14-time Grammy winner now has just nine shows and two locations — Toronto and Vancouver — left to round out nearly two years of touring.

With the concert winding down, Swift will be able to make more appearances at the NFL games of boyfriend Travis Kelce, and she rolled up to Arrowhead Stadium on Monday night to see his Chiefs take on Tampa Bay.

Swift has been able to make four games so far this season, and for Monday night against the Buccaneers she went with black shorts, a black top and Kansas City jacket.
