Avalanche at Flyers projected goalies

Alexandar Georgiev (11-3-1, 2.58 GAA, .922 SV%, 1 SO) vs. Carter Hart (7-7-4, 2.82 GAA, .911 SV%)

The Bulgarian Georgiev allowed 4 goals on 28 shots last time out in Buffalo Thursday, but he picked up the win thanks to 6 goals of support. He has won 4 of his past 5 starts, and 7 of the past 9 appearances overall.

Hart has coughed up 7 goals in his 2 December starts, going 0-2-0 with a 3.56 GAA and .844 SV% since flipping the calendar. He wasn’t that great in November either, going 2-5-3 with a 3.00 GAA and .901 SV% across 10 starts.

Avalanche at Flyers picks and predictions

Prediction

Avalanche 4, Flyers 2

Moneyline

The Avalanche (-210) will cost you more than 2 times your potential return, and that’s a little risky the way the defending champs are playing lately.

It’s been feast or famine for Colorado lately, alternating wins and losses in each of the past 6 outings. Defensive and goaltending issues have been a problem on this road trip as the Avs have conceded 14 total goals in the 3 games so far.

Even though the Flyers (+180) are equally inconsistent lately, PASS.

Puck line/Against the spread

The AVALANCHE -1.5 (+125) are a better play on the puck line, as the risk isn’t as great.

Colorado has won by 2 or more goals in 3 of the past 4 victories, so if you like the Avs to win, you should like them on the puck line.

On the flip side, Philadelphia has lost by 2 or more goals in 8 of its 12 losses dating back to Nov. 8.

Over/Under

OVER 5.5 (-130) is a little expensive, but worth the play, considering the Avs are allowing 4.67 goals per game (GPG) across the past 3 games on the road.

While the Under has cashed in 5 of the past 6 games overall for the Fly Guys, it’s still a lean to the Over.

New Jersey Devils at Philadelphia Flyers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s New Jersey Devils at Philadelphia Flyers odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The New Jersey Devils (19-4-1) and Philadelphia Flyers (8-11-4) meet Saturday at the Wells Fargo Center. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Devils vs. Flyers odds, and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

The Devils are coming off a 4-3 overtime loss against the Nashville Predators last time out Thursday, falling at home. New Jersey still has lost in regulation just once in the past 18 games dating back to Oct. 24.

These teams met in the regular-season opener in this very same venue, and Philadelphia won 5-2 as the Over connected.

The Flyers are coming off a 4-1 setback against the Tampa Bay Lightning, and Philadelphia is now 1-8-3 in the past 12 games. The Under has cashed in 4 of the past 5 games overall.

Devils at Flyers projected goalies

Vitek Vanecek (11-2-1, 2.24 GAA, .918 SV%, 1 SO) vs. Carter Hart (7-6-4, 2.81 GAA, .914 SV%)

Vanecek allowed 4 goals on just 24 shots in the OT loss to the Predators. That was his most goals allowed since he coughed up 5 goals on 22 shots in a 5-2 loss against the Detroit Red Wings in his first outing of the season Oct. 15.

Hart conceded 4 goals on 27 shots in a loss against the Lightning Thursday, and he has won just 1 start in the past 9 starts, going 1-6-2 during the span. Hart has allowed 4 or more goals in 5 of the past 7 outings. He was in net Oct. 13 against the Devils, stopping 35 of the 37 shots in the win.

Devils at Flyers picks and predictions

Prediction

Flyers 4, Devils 3

Moneyline

The FLYERS (+190) are worth a roll of the dice for a chance to nearly double up. Philly dumped New Jersey 5-2 back in mid-October. While it’s true, these teams have gone in different directions since the first meeting, Philly has had Jersey’s number in recent seasons.

The Devils are 1-4 in the past 5 trips to Philadelphia, while the home team is also 5-0 in the past 5 in this series.

New Jersey hasn’t had back-to-back losses since Oct. 13-15, so it is due for a skid, too.

Puck line/Against the spread

The FLYERS +1.5 (-135) are worth a look if you just can’t trust Philadelphia straight up, and you would like a little bit of insurance.

Philly has had just 1 win in the past 9 games overall, but 3 of the losses were either in overtime or a shootout.

Over/Under

OVER 6.5 (+115) was steamed up from 5.5 overnight, but it’s still worthy of playing.

The Over hit in the first meeting with a total of 7 goals. And Jersey has hit the Over in each of the past 2 games after a 7-0-1 Under run in the previous 8 outings. The 7 goals allowed in the past 2 games are the most in consecutive outings for the Devils since allowing 8 goals in a back-to-back situation Oct. 24-25.

The Under is on a 4-1 run for the Fly Guys in the past 5 outings. However, the Over is 7-2-1 in the past 10 meetings in this series, and 4-1-1 in the past 6 battles in Philadelphia.

Tampa Bay Lightning at Philadelphia Flyers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Tampa Bay Lightning at Philadelphia Flyers odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Tampa Bay Lightning (13-8-1) and Philadelphia Flyers (8-10-5) meet Thursday at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Lightning vs. Flyers odds, and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

The Lightning lost 3-1 on the road against the Boston Bruins Tuesday. It was just the 2nd time in the last 21 games that Tampa Bay scored just 1 goal in a  game. The Under result snapped a 3-0 Over run.

The Flyers posted a 3-1 victory against the New York Islanders at home on Tuesday, snapping an 0-7-3 slide. Philadelphia has gone ice cold after firing out of the chute with 3 straight victories, including a 3-2 win in Tampa on Oct. 18.

Lightning at Flyers projected goalies

Andrei Vasilevskiy (8-7-1, 2.88 GAA, .906 SV%) vs. Carter Hart (7-5-4, 2.73 GAA, .917 SV%)

Vasilevskiy has been stubbing his toe this season, struggling by his standards. However, he has started to show some signs of life, allowing just 2 goals in each of his last 2 outings, winning 5-2 against the St. Louis Blues, while falling 3-1 in Boston against the Bruins, mostly due to a lack of offensive support.

Vasilevskiy allowed 3 goals on 24 shots in the Oct. 18 loss in Tampa, as Hart allowed just 2 goals on 38 shots to best the former Vezina winner.

Hart allowed just 1 goal on 24 shots in a victory over the Isles, snapping a 7-start winless skid. He was 2-5-3 with a 3.00 GAA and .901 SV% in 10 starts in November.

Lightning at Flyers picks and predictions

Prediction

Lightning 5, Flyers 2

Moneyline

The Lightning (-220) will cost you more than 2 times your potential return, and that’s a little on the expensive side, especially since the Flyers (+190) won the 1st meeting this season.

PASS.

Puck line/Against the spread

The LIGHTNING -1.5 (+115) are worth a roll of the dice on the puck line instead. Yes, Tampa did fall at home to Philadelphia earlier this season, but the Flyers are a shell of their former selves. While the Flyers topped the Isles last time out, Philly has been atrocious lately, especially on the offensive end, totaling just 23 goals across the last 11 contests.

Over/Under

OVER 6.5 (+105) is a value play at plus-money.

While Philly has struggled to light the lamp lately, it has allowed 46 goals in the last 11 games. The Over has cashed at an 11-5-1 clip in the last 17 games against teams with a winning overall record for the Flyers, while going 6-1 in the last 7 meetings at home against the Lightning.

For the Lightning, the Over has hit at a 9-4-1 clip in the last 14 games overall, while going 7-1-1 in the last 9 inside the Eastern Conference.

New York Islanders at Philadelphia Flyers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s New York Islanders at Philadelphia Flyers odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The New York Islanders (15-8-0) and Philadelphia Flyers (7-10-5) meet Tuesday at Wells Fargo Center. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET (ESPN+/Hulu). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Islanders vs. Flyers odds, and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

The Islanders topped the Flyers 5-2 in the front end of the home-and-home series Saturday at UBS Arena. New York has won its last 4 games, scoring at least 3 goals in each contest.

The Flyers exceeded expectations early on, but they have been a disaster lately. Philadelphia hasn’t won since Nov. 8 against the St. Louis Blues, going 0-7-3 across the past 10 games overall, including 4 straight losses at home in regulation.

Islanders at Flyers projected goalies

Ilya Sorokin (10-5-0, 2.19 GAA, .933 SV%, 2 SO) vs. Carter Hart (6-5-4, 2.85 GAA, .915 SV%)

Sorokin has won 3 straight starts, including a shutout over the Edmonton Oilers Wednesday. Semyon Varlamov, not Sorokin, was between the pipes for the front end of the back-to-back against the Flyers. Sorokin is 7-2-0 with a 2.17 GAA and .933 SV% and 1 SO in 9 starts and 10 appearances in November.

Hart started out as a ball of fire in the first month, going 5-0-1 with a 2.31 GAA and .938 SV% in 6 October starts. It has been the complete opposite in 9 November outings, going 1-5-3 with a 3.22 GAA and .896 SV%.

Islanders at Flyers picks and predictions

Prediction

Islanders 4, Flyers 2

Moneyline

The Islanders (-200) are quite expensive, especially on the road, costing you 2 times your potential return. There is little value in a standalone wager like that, especially over the long term.

PASS.

Puck line/Against the spread

The ISLANDERS -1.5 (+125) on the puck line at plus money is a much better play, as 2 of their past 3 wins have been by 3 goals, and they have covered the puck line in 3 of the previous 4 outings.

The Flyers have dropped 7 of the 10 games during its winless skid by 2 or more goals. Until Philly shows signs of pulling out of its nosedive, keep fading it.

Over/Under

OVER 5.5 (-130) is worth playing lightly — but go with a half-unit play at most.

Philadelphia has allowed 4 or more goals in 2 straight, and in 9 of the 10 games during the team’s winless skid. It wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility that New York takes care of the Over on its own.

Philadelphia Flyers at Boston Bruins odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Philadelphia Flyers at Boston Bruins odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Philadelphia Flyers (7-6-3) and Boston Bruins (14-2-0) meet Thursday at TD Garden in Boston. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Flyers vs. Bruins odds, and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

After a surprising hot start, the Flyers have cooled off. Philly has posted an 0-3-1 mark in the last 4 games, and it has been outscored 19-8 during the span. It suffered a 5-4 loss in overtime last time out on Tuesday night in Columbus.

The Bruins have started hot, and they have stayed hot. Boston is particularly hot at TD Garden, going a perfect record on home ice (9-0). In addition, each of the team’s last 5 home wins have been by 2 or more goals.

Flyers at Bruins projected goalies

Carter Hart (6-2-3, 2.42 GAA, .929 SV%) vs. Linus Ullmark (11-1-0, 1.96 GAA, .936 SV%, 1 SO)

Hart has hit the skids lately, allowing 3 or more goals in each of his last 3 starts. Part of the issue has been a lack of offensive support, as he is 1-2-2 in 5 starts in November, but he has a decent 2.56 GAA and .917 SV%.

Ullmark has rattled off 3 straight wins since his lone loss Nov. 5 in Toronto, and he has allowed 3 or fewer goals in each of his 12 starts and 13 appearances. He is even better at home, going 7-0-0 with a 1.68 GAA and .945 SV% in 7 starts at TD Garden.

Flyers at Bruins picks and predictions

Prediction

Bruins 5, Flyers 2

Moneyline

The Bruins (-370) will cost you over 3 1/2 times your potential return, and that’s way too much risk for not nearly enough reward.

PASS, and look to the puck line instead.

Puck line/Against the spread

The BRUINS -1.5 (-130) is a strong play on the puck line. Boston has won 5 of the last 6 games and all of those wins have been by 2 or more goals. In fact, Boston has yielded just 2 or fewer goals in each of the games.

And in 11 of the team’s 14 victories, Boston has also won by 2 or more goals. If you like the Bs to win, you should love them on the puck line until they start to cool off.

Over/Under

OVER 6.5 (+105) is a little bit risky, but it’s worth the play at plus-money.

The Bruins cashed the Over last time out in a 5-2 win against the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday, and you can expect a similar result here.

The Flyers have allowed 4 or more goals in each of the past 4 outings, and it isn’t likely to do much better against the high-flying Bs.

Philadelphia Flyers at Columbus Blue Jackets odds, picks & predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Philadelphia Flyers at Columbus Blue Jackets odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Philadelphia Flyers (7-6-2) visit the Columbus Blue Jackets (4-9-1) in Tuesday night NHL action. Faceoff from Nationwide Arena is set for 7:30 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Flyers vs. Blue Jackets odds, and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

The Flyers are on a 3-game losing streak with their most recent 1 being a 5-1 loss Sunday to the Dallas Stars. The Flyers got off more shots and had more hits, but allowed the Stars to have almost triple the faceoff wins. Philadelphia now sits right in the middle of their divisional standings.

The Blue Jackets come into this matchup after dropping their last game on Saturday to the New York Islanders 4-3 in overtime despite having 17 more shots than the Islanders.

Carter Hart (6-2-0, 2.18 GAA, .937 SV%) vs. Elvis Merzlikins (2-5-0, 4.82 GAA, .863 SV%)

In Hart’s last start on Saturday, he allowed 3 goals on 26 shots with a .885 SV% and 59 minutes on the ice in that 4-1 loss vs. the Ottawa Senators.

In Merzlikins’ last outing on Nov. 4 vs. the Avalanche, he allowed 5 goals on 35 shots with a .857 SV% and 57 minutes on the ice in a 6-3 loss.

Flyers at Blue Jackets picks and predictions

Prediction

Flyers 4, Blue Jackets 2

Moneyline

BET FLYERS -120

There are multiple reasons why I believe this bet is the safest, but the main 1 is that the Flyers are simply a better team. The Flyers are looking for a much needed win to end their losing streak and this game vs. an inferior team seems like the perfect opportunity for them to do so. The Blue Jackets already won the 1st game of the season series and I don’t see them taking both of their early matchups vs. this Flyers squad.

Puck line/Against the spread

LEAN FLYERS -1.5 (+215)

The Flyers offense has been inconsistent as of late, some games they can come out and score 5 goals and other times they have games where they score 1 goal. To end their losing streak they will need to put up at least 4 goals and silence the crowd. The Blue Jackets don’t have a great offense or a great defense and Merzlikins, while he has been their best goalie, isn’t great.

Over/Under

AVOID

With both teams having inconsistency on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ice I can’t put a lot of stock in this bet. Avoiding this bet seems best, but if you really like betting the Over/Under then lean under for the sheer fact I have little faith in either offense to put up a good amount of goals.

Dallas Stars at Philadelphia Flyers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Dallas Stars at Philadelphia Flyers odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Dallas Stars (8-5-1) and Philadelphia Flyers (7-5-2) meet Sunday at Wells Fargo Center. Puck drop is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET (NHL Network). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Stars vs. Flyers odds, and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

The Stars were on the short end of a 5-4 home loss against the San Jose Sharks Friday night at American Airlines Center. The Stars had allowed 5 or more goals just once in the first 12 games, but Dallas has coughed up 5 goals in each of the past 2 outings, both losses.

Dallas is looking to avoid its first 3-game losing streak dating back to April 18-21 at the tail end of last season.

The Flyers lost 4-1 at home to the Ottawa Senators Saturday afternoon, and now face the quick turnaround after the bad loss on home ice with Carter Hart in the crease against the Senators.

Stars at Flyers projected goalies

Jake Oettinger (5-2-0, 1.90 GAA, .931 SV%, 1 SO) vs. Felix Sandstrom (1-3-0, 3.07 GAA, .909 SV%)

Oettinger was lit up for 5 goals on just 18 shots against the toothless San Jose Sharks offense, which was a stunner. He had yielded just 9 goals on 186 shots (.952 SV%) across his first 7 starts. Oettinger missed 4 games due to a lower-body injury, and he looked rusty in his return against San Jose.

Sandstrom turned in his best performance of the season, allowing just 1 goal on 28 shots Tuesday in a 5-1 win against the St. Louis Blues. It was his first win in 4 games overall. He has allowed 9 goals on 80 shots in 2 starts vs. Eastern Conference teams, while yielding just 3 goals on 52 shots with a 1-1-0 record vs. Western Conference foes.

Stars at Flyers picks and predictions

Prediction

Stars 4, Flyers 2

Moneyline

The STARS (-165) are a strong play as moderate favorites, even on the road, as the Flyers (+133) face the unenviable task of playing back-to-back matinee games.

Dallas comes with some risk, as Oettinger really looked rusty after his 4-game layoff, but he should be better here. And even if he doesn’t bring his ‘A’ game, he is still more reliable than Philly’s backup, Sandstrom.

Puck line/Against the spread

The STARS -1.5 (+140) are a worth a roll of the dice at plus-money here.

Dallas has won by at least 2 goals in all 8 victories this season. So, if you like Dallas to win, you should like it on the puck line, too. On the flip side, each of Philadelphia’s last 4 losses in regulation have been by 2 or more goals.

Over/Under

UNDER 6.5 (-112) is a solid play here despite the presence of Sandstrom. And, to be fair, the Philly backup was solid last time out, so he is no slouch. But the thinking here is that the Philly offense will have some heavy legs after skating Saturday afternoon, and Oettinger should be able to re-gain his lockdown form, too.

St. Louis Blues at Philadelphia Flyers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s St. Louis Blues at Philadelphia Flyers odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The St. Louis Blues (3-7-0) clash with the Philadelphia Flyers (6-3-2) Tuesday at Wells Fargo Center. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Blues vs. Flyers odds, and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

The Blues dropped their 7th game in a row Monday against the Boston Bruins (3-1), but there were some positives to take out of it. They’ve been plagued by turnovers and spotty defensive work, and they were undone by 2 power-play goals while failing to come through on 3 power plays of their own. It was a close game until the end, and they have the solace of hanging with a tough team on the road.

Philadelphia is another tough matchup as it’s 3-1-1 on home ice. The Flyers have allowed 28 goals and scored 28 goals – both the fewest in the Metropolitan Division. They ended a 3-game skid with a 2-1 victory at the Ottawa Senators Saturday.

Blues at Flyers projected goalies

Thomas Greiss (0-2-0, 3.28 GAA, .915 SV%, 0 SO) vs. Carter Hart (6-0-2, 1.97 GAA, .946 SV%, 0 SO)

Greiss was great in his first start of the season against the Winnipeg Jets, stopping 39 of 42 shots, but was pummeled by the Nashville Predators in his next turn, allowing 5 goals on 41 shots. He came on in relief duty 8 days ago and stopped all 11 shots he saw against the Los Angeles Kings. Greiss beat the Flyers last season, stopping 32 of 34 shots.

What a start to the season by Hart, who is 3rd in GAA and 2nd in SV % in the league. He has stopped 68 of the 70 shots he has faced over his last 2 starts. At 24 years old, he has really come into his own as he has yet to be defeated in regulation.

Blues at Flyers picks and predictions

Prediction

Blues 3, Flyers 2

Moneyline

All streaks must come to an end, and while I’m not rushing out to throw money at the Blues making the playoffs, I think they jell together enough to sneak by in this one — possibly in overtime. There’s too much talent on this team to continue its dysfunction.

Take the BLUES (-130).

Puck line/Against the spread

The Flyers +1.5 (-220) is well out of my price range, and if St. Louis can get a lead, they have a good shot at an empty-netter.

PASS.

Over/Under

This number is too high. St. Louis is 5-4-1 O/U, and Philadelphia is just 5-6-0. St. Louis has a league-worst 22 goals on the season, and Philly is just above them with 28. Both sides have had solid goaltending. I’ll be pretty happy to take the UNDER 6.5 (-120).

Philadelphia Flyers at Toronto Maple Leafs odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Philadelphia Flyers at Toronto Maple Leafs odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Philadelphia Flyers (5-2-2) takes their road trip to Toronto to battle the Toronto Maple Leafs (4-4-2) Wednesday 7 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Flyers vs. Maple Leaf odds, and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

The Flyers started off the season strong, but have slipped recently. Coming off a 1-0 overtime loss to the New York Rangers on Tuesday, the Flyers have lost 2 of their last 3 games. They look to get back on track against the Maple Leafs, who are in last place in the Atlantic Division.

The Maple Leafs come into the game coming off their own overtime loss, 4-3 on Sunday against the Anaheim Ducks. After a 3-day layoff, Toronto will be well rested for this matchup, and they also look to get their season headed in the right direction.

Flyers at Maple Leafs projected goalies

Felix Sandstrom (0-2-0, 3.14 GAA, .900 SV%) vs. Ilya Samsonov (4-2-0, 2.35 GAA, .920 SV%)

Sandstrom has not allowed a power-play goal yet this season. He has been the goalie for both Flyers’ regulation losses this season.

Despite the good 2.35 GAA, Samsonov has yet to produce a shutout this season. He has also been weak in the power play. Despite having a .920 save%, this drops to .833 on the power play.

Flyers at Maple Leafs picks and predictions

Prediction

Maple Leafs 5, Flyers 3

Moneyline

AVOID.

The ML in tis game is far too high to make a play on. Avoid and instead make a play on the puck line or Over/Under.

Puck line/Against the spread

BET MAPLE LEAFS -1.5 (-140).

Toronto comes into the game after a 3-day rest while Philadelphia is coming in after an overtime game on Tuesday night against the New York Rangers.

With Philadelphia leaning on backup goalie Sandstrom, Toronto will be able to get a few shots past the crease. The Flyers only put 19 shots on goal on Tuesday. If the same is done Wednesday, Toronto will easily cover this spread. The Maple Leafs -1.5 (-140) is my favorite play in this game.

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 6.5 (-112).

I only lean Over in this game as the Flyers have been getting shots on goal at an alarmingly low rate recently. On the second leg of the Back-to-back, Philadelphia will be tired and with backup Sandstrom stepping in, goals could be aplenty.

Toronto comes in well rested and with Samsonov in net, they could hold the Flyers in check. If they do, this game will go Under. But the Maple Leafs are struggling this season as well and anything could happen. I lean the Over. But I would rather place my entire stake for this game on the Maple Leafs -1.5 (-135). The juice is a bit more. But it is certainly the safer play.

Philadelphia Flyers at New York Rangers odds, picks, and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Philadelphia Flyers at New York Rangers odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Philadelphia Flyers (5-2-1) travel to Madison Square Garden to take on the New York Rangers (5-3-1) Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Flyers vs. Rangers odds, and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

Both teams will have their starting goalies in net for this game. This is good as neither the Flyers nor the Rangers have won a game this season in which Carter Hart or Igor Shesterkin have not been in goal.

For the Rangers, the last victory came Sunday in a 3-2 road game against the Arizona Coyotes. For the Flyers, it was a 4-3 victory last Thursday against the Florida Panthers. That was followed up by a 4-3 loss Saturday in overtime against the Hurricane.

This is the 1st game of a back-to-back for the Flyers, who will travel to Toronto for a Wednesday game against the Maple Leafs.

Flyers at Rangers projected goalies

Carter Hart (5-0-1, 2.31 GAA, .938 SV%) vs. Igor Shesterkin (5-0-2, 2.55 GAA, .913 SV%)

Both Hart and Shesterkin come into this matchup T-2 in the NHL with 5 wins this season. Both goalies are also tied for the league lead with 0 losses.

Hart is 7th in the NHL with a save percentage of .938

Flyers at Rangers picks and predictions

Prediction

Rangers 3, Flyers 2

Moneyline

PASS. The ML on this game is too high to make a play on either side in this one.

Puck line/Against the spread

BET FLYERS +1.5 (-120).

The Rangers and Flyers know each other well and are aware of what the other wants to do. This will lead to fewer odd man breaks and limit the goals.

With a limited opportunity to score, neither team is safe to wager at more than a 1-goal favorite. With the Flyers being the underdog and +1.5, I will wager on them to cover this number. The Flyers +1.5 (-120) is my favorite play.

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 5.5 (+105).

With both goalies top 10 in wins this season with 5 each and with both goalies having a GAA of 2.51 or less, I do not see either team scoring to the level to take the over. With these teams having 11 of their 18 total games this season going under, take the Under 5.5 (+105).
