Missouri drew first blood in the bottom of the third inning when an error led to two runs for them. The score remained that way until the top of the fifth inning when [autotag]Paxton Kling[/autotag] hit a two-RBI double to score [autotag]Alex Milazzo[/autotag] and [autotag]Stephen Milam[/autotag] and tie the game 2-2.

In the top of the sixth inning, [autotag]Michael Braswell III[/autotag] walked with the bases loaded to extend the LSU lead to 3-2. In the top of the seventh inning, [autotag]Ashton Larson[/autotag] hit a solo homer to extend the lead to 4-2.

 

In the top of the eighth inning, Braswell hit an RBI double to extend the lead to 5-2, and in the top of the ninth inning, Milazzo scored on a throwing error to give LSU a 6-2 lead.

LSU will be back in action on Tuesday night against Nicholls.

LSU baseball run-rules Missouri in Game 1

Gage Jump finished the game with seven innings pitched, and he allowed only one run on three hits, 14 strikeouts and one walk.

This is the LSU team we have all been waiting on this season. The offense was smashing the ball and the pitching was on point as LSU opened its road series against Missouri with a 12-1 run-rule win in Game 1.

[autotag]Gage Jump[/autotag] got the start on the mound for the matchup and was great. Jump finished the game with seven innings pitched and he allowed only one run on three hits, 14 strikeouts and one walk.

In the bottom of the third, Missouri scored a run to cut the lead to 8-1. In the top of the fourth inning, LSU scored three more runs. [autotag]Jared Jones[/autotag] hit a two-run homer and Travinski scored on a wild pitch to increase the lead to 11-1.

In the top of the sixth inning, Jones scored on a fielder’s choice to increase the lead to 12-1 as the Tigers looked to win via the run rule. Game 2 of the series will be Saturday at 4 p.m. CT.

LSU baseball gets back in the win column against McNeese on Tuesday night

After falling out of the baseball polls for the first time in a year, the Tigers bounced back with a blowout win on Tuesday.

After falling out of the baseball polls for the first time in a year, the Tigers looked to get some good news. They got just that with a 16-0 victory over McNeese.

[autotag]Jared Jones[/autotag] got the scoring started in the bottom of the first inning with a solo homer. [autotag]Paxton Kling[/autotag] followed that with an RBI single and [autotag]Stephen Milam[/autotag] cleared the bases with a three-RBI triple to give LSU a 5-0 lead.

In the bottom of the second inning, [autotag]Mac Bingham[/autotag] was credited with two RBI via a bunt single to increase the lead to 7-0.

In the bottom of the third inning, Jones homered once again. This time it was a two-run shot that extended the lead to 9-0.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, [autotag]Jake Brown[/autotag] hit a two-run homer to right field to increase the LSU lead to 11-0. [autotag]Ben Nippolt[/autotag] was then hit by a pitch with bases loaded to score another run and a wild pitch resulted in [autotag]Alex Milazzo[/autotag] scoring to give LSU a 13-0 lead. Jones then hit his third homer of the night as his three-run bomb gave LSU a 16-0 lead.

LSU will be back in action on Friday night when they take on No. 4 Tennessee in Knoxville.

LSU baseball suffers another Game 3 run-rule loss as Vanderbilt takes series

The Commodores run-ruled LSU on Saturday to take the series.

LSU had two chances to get their first conference series win of the season after winning against Vanderbilt on Thursday evening. They could not make it happen as a late rally won Game 2 for Vandy and then the Commodores run-ruled LSU today to take the series.

The Commodores plated five runs in the first three innings before LSU was able to respond. [autotag]Paxton Kling[/autotag] scored due to a throwing error in the bottom of the third inning as LSU would cut the lead to 5-1.

Vandy went on to score two runs in the top of the fourth, one run in the top of the fifth, and three runs in the top of the sixth inning to extend their lead to 11-1. [autotag]Javen Coleman[/autotag] was charged with three runs, [autotag]Will Hellmers[/autotag] was charged with two runs, [autotag]Cam Johnson[/autotag] was charged with two runs, [autotag]Christian Little[/autotag] was charged with one run, and [autotag]Jaden Noot[/autotag] was charged with three runs today.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, [autotag]Jared Jones[/autotag] hit a two-run homer to cut the Commodore lead to 11-3.

Vandy scored a run in the top of the seventh and the eighth inning to win the game via run rule 13-3. LSU will be back in action on Tuesday as the Tigers take on McNeese at 6:30 p.m. CT.

The Tigers were dominated by Southern on Monday and were swept by Arkansas in their latest SEC series. No. 6 Vanderbilt strolled into Baton Rouge looking to add insult to injury.

The Tigers got the scoring started in the bottom of the first inning as LSU took a two-run lead thanks to a [autotag]Josh Pearson[/autotag] RBI single and an [autotag]Ethan Frey[/autotag] RBI single.

The game went quiet until the top of the fourth inning when the Gators got on the board with a solo homer. That was Florida’s only hit and only run against Holman all night.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, LSU got some insurance runs as [autotag]Michael Braswell III[/autotag] walked with the bases loaded, [autotag]Paxton Kling[/autotag] hit a sacrifice fly, and [autotag]Mac Bingham[/autotag] hit an RBI single to give the Tigers a 5-1 lead.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, Bingham hit an RBI double to extend the lead to 6-1 as we headed into the ninth inning.

In the top of the ninth inning, Griffin Herring remained on the mound and got the Tigers through the inning unscathed. Herring entered to pitch after Holman and he finished the game after pitching three full innings and allowing zero runs on three hits and three strikeouts.

LSU baseball escapes with a win against Southeastern Louisiana

With the win, LSU moves to 12-1 this season.

After going 4-0 last weekend and being crowned champions of the Astros Foundation Classic. LSU had a bit of a break before traveling to Hammond, Louisiana to take on the Southeastern Louisiana Lions on Wednesday.

[autotag]Kade Anderson[/autotag] got the start on the mound once again and he was efficient. Anderson finished the game after pitching five innings and giving up one unearned run on two hits, 13 strikeouts and two walks.

After an error in the outfield in the bottom of the sixth inning, the Lions scored a run on an RBI groundout to tie the game 1-1.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, the Lions would score another run courtesy of an RBI double to left field to give SLU a 2-1 lead as we headed to the eighth inning. In the bottom of the eighth, the Lions tacked on another run to increase their lead to 3-1.

In the top of the ninth inning, with two outs, [autotag]Ethan Frey[/autotag] hit an RBI double to left-center field to cut the lead to 3-2. [autotag]Paxton Kling[/autotag] then stepped into the batter’s box and hit a two-RBI double to left field to give LSU a 4-3 lead.
