LOOK: Chiefs reveal Super Bowl LVIII patch, tease red jerseys

The #Chiefs revealed their Super Bowl LVIII patches on social media and seemed to tease that they may wear red jerseys against the #49ers.

The Kansas City Chiefs are no strangers to donning Super Bowl patches in the Patrick Mahomes era and revealed the latest update to their uniforms on Tuesday ahead of their championship matchup against the San Francisco 49ers on February 11.

The pictures of the Chiefs’ Super Bowl LVIII jerseys released on social media seem to hint that Kansas City will wear red during the highly-anticipated game against San Francisco but, as of now, nothing is known for certain.

Patrick Mahomes’ No. 15 jersey was used for the photo-op and can be seen with four distinct patches on it. At the top left is the red and purple Super Bowl LVIII patch with a football-shaped insignia under it commemorating the late Norma Hunt.

On the right, Mahomes’ gold captain patch sits above the Chiefs’ traditional AFL badge that honors the team’s founder Lamar Hunt.

This stylish look is sure to turn heads in the coming weeks as fans anticipate Kansas City’s appearance in Super Bowl LVIII.

Chiefs will wear patch commemorating Norma Hunt in 2023

The #Chiefs will wear a patch commemorating the late great Norma Hunt during their 2023 Super Bowl defense campaign.

The passing of Norma Hunt in June left a gaping hole in the hearts of Kansas City Chiefs fans across the country, and the team has decided to wear a jersey patch to commemorate her legacy during the 2023 season.

The white football-shaped patch has a red outline and bears Hunt’s initials “NKH”. The shape of the patch is of particular note, as it is the same as the one Kansas City wore in remembrance of Chiefs founder Lamar Hunt in the mid-2000s.

Clearly, Norma Hunt’s legacy is something to be celebrated, and the team’s decision to tastefully remember her impact on its organization with this gesture is certainly laudable.

The patch is set to make its debut against the Detroit Lions on Thursday night at 7:20 p.m. when Kansas City will get its 2023 Super Bowl championship defense campaign underway at Arrowhead Stadium in the first game of the new NFL season.

Celtics announce new partnership, jersey patch with Vistaprint

The Boston Celtics and Vistaprint announced a new partnership and jersey patch for the left shoulder of next season’s uniforms on Tuesday.

If there are any fans of the Boston Celtics who also have love for General Electric, we have some bad news for you — the “GE” logo patch is going away in favor of a new arrival.

Thankfully, we don’t expect too many General Electric stans exist to get upset by this change, which the Celtics announced in a press release this Tuesday afternoon.

G.E. will be replaced with longtime design partner Vistaprint, whose logo will sit on the same left shoulder piece of real estate the previous patch was located.

“Today, Vistaprint, the marketing and design partner to millions of small businesses,” begins the press release, which notes the partnership will be for several years, with Vistaprint to be “the Exclusive Marketing and Design Partner of the Boston Celtics.”

“As a company with deep roots in the Boston area, we are thrilled to announce this partnership with our hometown team, the Boston Celtics,” said Vistaprint Chief Marketing Officer Ricky Engelberg in the release.

“Even more so, we’re proud to join up with the Celtics to shine a spotlight on the important role small businesses play here in our community and across the country. Though our partnership with the Celtics is just beginning, Vistaprint’s partnership with small businesses has been in place for more than 20 years. We are excited to use this new platform to help enhance that 20-year commitment in a way that we’ve never done before.”

“This work has never been more important as small business owners face economic hardship brought on by the pandemic,” they added.

The partnership will provide “resources for local small businesses, including financial assistance, educational resources, and marketing and design services” as the partnership seeks to give back to the hard-hit local community.

Moreover, the patch will not only be on Celtics jerseys but also the Maine Red Claws and CTLX Gaming Esport franchise owned by Boston.

And for those wondering, the patch is also pleasantly unobtrusive as the last one was.
