Meet Notre Dame’s Top Ranked 2025 Recruiting Class

What must the Irish still add to make this class great?

It’s early in the 2025 recruiting cycle still but recruiting for Notre Dame tends to play out a lot like a quote from New York Yankees legend Yogi Berra:

“It’s getting late early out there.”

When it comes to football recruiting Notre Dame is a team that tends to start hot and then usually have to hold on to secure a high ranking.  They’re rarely if ever a program that soars up the rankings late in the process.

That’s why it’s so important that Notre Dame gets off to hot starts in recruiting and that is something they’ve certainly done to date with the 2025 recruiting class.

Notre Dame now has 16 commitments in the class which gives them the top ranking according to both 247Sports and Rivals.

Below are the currently committed 16 members of Notre Dame’s 2025 recruiting class and a little about each player.

Please note: Prospects are listed according to their public commitment dates

Watch: Notre Dame football commit Owen Strebig shows athleticism on court

The big man can get up!

When Notre Dame football landed a commitment from 6-foot, 8-inch and 295-pound offensive tackle [autotag]Owen Strebig[/autotag], it was seen as a massive recruiting win.

The Wisconsin native is ranked as the No. 16 offensive tackle and 152nd overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite Rankings, putting him among the best players in the country.

For any elite offensive lineman, athleticism is key and it looks like Strebig will bring that with him to South Bend. In a clip he shared on social media, you can see the massive tackle dunking a basketball with ease, while doing a 360-degree spin.

Watch for yourself the kind of athlete that Notre Dame is getting in Strebig.

Notre Dame Football: Social Media Reacts as Irish Land Massive Offensive Lineman Commitment

Big time get — LITERALLY

That class got even better this week when Owen Strebig, a mountain of a young man at 6-8, 295-pounds announced his commitment to the Fighting Irish.

Notre Dame won the commitment of Strebig over the likes of Florida State, Miami (FL), Wisconsin, and USC among others.  Stregbig comes from Catholic Memorial High School in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

As you can probably imagine, Notre Dame fans were plenty excited to learn of Srebig’s commitment.  Below is some of the best social media reactions to Notre Dame landing the commitment from the offensive tackle.

Wisconsin top in-state class of 2025 target commits to Midwest rival

Wisconsin top in-state class of 2025 target commits to midwest rival

Wisconsin top in-state class of 2025 target Owen Strebig announced his commitment to Notre Dame Thursday night.

The Waukesha, Wisconsin, native is the No. 1 player in the state of Wisconsin in the class of 2025. He ranks as the No. 127 overall recruit and No. 13 offensive tackle.

He joins a Notre Dame class that ranks No. 1 in the nation with 13 commitments, including eight blue-chip recruits.

This result isn’t a surprise. Strebig received multiple crystal ball predictions in the last few weeks to pick the Fighting Irish, including from 247Sports Director of Football Recruiting Steve Wiltfong.

He chooses Marcus Freeman’s program over Wisconsin, Florida State, Miami, Notre Dame and USC.

Wisconsin’s class of 2025 ninth in the nation with seven commitments, including one blue-chip recruit.

Wisconsin may be about to lose another top in-state recruit

Wisconsin top in-state class of 2025 target Owen Strebig recently announced he would be announcing his commitment on February 8 at 4 p.m. central. The Badgers are among his final five schools — alongside Florida State, Miami, Notre Dame and USC.

Strebig is the No. 127 overall recruit in the class of 2025, No. 13 offensive tackle and No. 1 recruit from the state of Wisconsin.

His top five schools and commitment announcement corresponded with numerous 247Sports analysts entering their crystal ball predictions. Unfortunately for Wisconsin and head coach Luke Fickell, every one of the predictions has Strebig choosing Notre Dame.

Notre Dame is led by head coach Marcus Freeman, though its offensive line coach is a familiar name: Joe Rudolph — Wisconsin’s offensive line coach and offensive coordinator under Paul Chryst from 2015-2021.

If the predictions are to come true, Strebig would become the ninth of the last 10 in-state four-star recruits to commit elsewhere — the one commitment coming from top 2022 offensive tackle Joe Brunner. This trend is occurring after Wisconsin previously held a stronghold on top in-state prospects for the last few decades.

Wisconsin’s class of 2025, meanwhile, ranks No. 10 in the nation with seven commitments. Recent developments unfortunately point toward that number not growing to eight on February 8 when Strebig commits.

Top Wisconsin class of 2025 target Owen Strebig announced earlier today that he will be announcing his college commitment on February 8 at 4 p.m. central.

The Waukesha, Wisconsin native is the No. 1 player in the state of Wisconsin in his class of 2025. He also ranks as the No. 127 overall recruit in the class and No. 13 offensive tackle.

Strebig will be choosing between the in-state Badgers, Florida State, Miami, Notre Dame and USC — though there is currently a consensus that Notre Dame will be the choice.

If Wisconsin were to lose Strebig, he would become the ninth of the last 10 in-state four-star recruits to commit elsewhere — the one commitment coming from top 2022 offensive tackle Joe Brunner. This trend is occurring after Wisconsin previously held a stronghold on top in-state prospects for the last few decades.

It also must be noted that Notre Dame’s current offensive line coach is Joe Rudolph — Wisconsin’s old offensive line coach and offensive coordinator from 2015-2021. It is easy to infer a previous connection there between Rudolph and in-state recruits from his time in Madison.

The Badgers class of 2025 now awaits Strebig’s announcement. The group currently ranks No. 10 nationally with seven commitments at this early point in the process.

Four-star offensive tackle Owen Strebig is offered by Rutgers football

Owen Strebig gets offered by Rutgers football on Monday.

One of the top offensive linemen in the nation was offered by Rutgers football on Monday. Owen Strebig, the top recruit in Wisconsin in the 2025 class, saw Rutgers officially join his recruitment.

Strebig is a 6-foot-8, 290-pound offensive lineman from Catholic Memorial (Waukesha, Wisconsin).

He is the No. 135 player in the ESPN 300 and is ranked the No. 17 offensive tackle in the country.

His offer list is impressive and includes Florida, Florida State, Illinois, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame and Wisconsin among others. This past weekend, he was on an unofficial visit to Notre Dame

Strebig posted about the offer on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. He tagged Rutgers head coach [autotag]Greg Schiano[/autotag] and tight ends coach [autotag]Andrew Aurich[/autotag]:

Rutgers has the benefit of using [autotag]Pat Flaherty[/autotag] as a recruiting weapon in their pursuit of blue-chip offensive linemen.

Flaherty spent over two decades in the NFL as an offensive line coach, most famously reshaping and remaking the New York Giants offensive line into a unit that was dramatically improved and won two Super Bowl titles.

Now in his second season back at Rutgers, Flaherty did an incredible job in 2023 as he re-made the offensive line into a solid Big Ten unit. Rutgers, as an offense, went from the bottom of the Big Ten in nearly every statistical category into the middle of the conference’s rankings.

The jump was made in large part due to Flaherty’s tremendous job in improving the offensive line.

Notre Dame coaches including Marcus Freeman visit monster offensive tackle

The Irish would love to see this tackle join the 2025 class

The Notre Dame football staff is hopefully using up its miles while making rounds all across the country. (We all know they have been taking a private jet.)

That still doesn’t take away from the fact that the Irish staff have been all around the country this week. They made a stop in California to visit 2026 quarterback Ryder Lyons, and on their way back made another stop, this time in Wisconsin.

The Notre Dame staff stopped off at Brookfield, Wisconsin to see 2025 offensive tackle [autotag]Owen Strebig[/autotag]. The massive tackle, who stands 6-foot, 8-inches and weighs 295-pounds, is highly considering the Irish.

Strebig is ranked as the No. 12 offensive tackle and 125th overall prospect in the country according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Notre Dame recruiting: Monster offensive tackle says he ‘liking the feel in South Bend’

OL U has their eyes on another top prospect

[autotag]Notre Dame[/autotag] is really starting to make waves with one of the biggest offensive tackles in the 2025 recruiting cycle.

[autotag]Owen Strebig[/autotag], a Wisconsin native, stands 6-foot, 8-inches and weighs 295 pounds. He’s clearly a massive offensive tackle and for a second time in the past two months, he’s back in South Bend.

The first visit happened in mid-April and the return visit for Strebig is starting the leave an impression on the 13th ranked offensive tackle and 129th overall player according to the 247Sports composite.

Assuming that Strebig just arrived on campus for a weekend visit, it’s safe to say things are going extremely well. He went on and tweeted this out.

The Irish offered Strebig in March and the relationship between him and the Notre Dame coaching staff looks to be very strong. Although it’s early in his recruitment, making an early positive impression could pay dividends for Notre Dame down the line.
