NFL Week 7 odds, betting lines: In no surprise, Bills huge favorite over Jets

The Buffalo Bills are favorites over the New York Jets in Week 7 NFL 2020 season.

The Buffalo Bills were underdogs one time so far in 2020, and it was their most recent game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Entering that game which went down as a 26-17 loss, the Chiefs were up to 5.5 favorites.

But as is the case for many teams in the NFL, when the New York Jets are the next team up on your slate… you’re going to be back on the good side of things when it comes to sportsbooks. That’s massively the case for Buffalo heading into Week 7.

According to BetMGM, the Bills open as huge 13-point favorites over the Jets in Week 7. Not only is that big, considering the fact that Buffalo’s on the road? It’s even bigger. If this one was at Bills Stadium, the Bills could’ve been up to 16-point favorites. But regardless, the Bills’ huge spread edge is still by far the largest in the NFL’s Week 7. The next closest is the Chiefs’ advantage over the Broncos which is at -10.

In terms of the rest of our odds here, the Bills actually aren’t that high. Could be because of the Jets, though. The Bills-Jets over/ under is at 45, second-lowest in most sportsbooks heading into the weekend.

The moneyline reads Bills (-105) and Jets (-115).

NFL Week 1 odds, betting lines: Bills solid favorite over Jets

Buffalo Bills, New York Jets oddsmakers, betting, bets, odds, Week 1.

The Bills and NFL are gearing up for Week 1 of the 2020 season. Ahead of game week, odds are out. To start the season, Buffalo welcomes the New York Jets to Orchard Park for a 1 p.m. kickoff on Sunday. In this one, the Bills are 6.5 favorites at home, according to BetMGM.

Interestingly, the home team typically is given a three-point boost in games by oddsmakers each week. Week 1 between these two AFC East rivals will see the Jets travel upstate to western New York, however, there won’t be any fans at Bills Stadium for this one due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Still, the Jets have struggled in recent seasons under head coach Adam Gase and the hot seat is certainly on if he can’t get quarterback Sam Darnold and their offense going this year. No easy task getting that started against the Bills defense, a top-three unit from 2019.

That, plus the questions surrounding Buffalo’s offense and quarterback Josh Allen, see the game slated as a low-scoring affair to start the season. The over/ under of 40 is the lowest for all Week 1 slates. Thursday Night Football’s Chiefs-Texans game is more than two touchdowns higher at 54.5.

Last year the Bills and Jets finished the regular season against one another and the Bills entered that one as 1.5-point favorites. The Jets, facing a team of mostly backups for Buffalo because their postseason seeding was locked up, won that contest late, 13-6. This year’s season opener sees the moneyline sit at Bills (-265) and Jets (+215) as well.

Early over/ under for Bills in 2020

The NFL offseason is young, but Las Vegas sportsbooks are already making guesses.

The NFL offseason is young, but Las Vegas sportsbooks are already making guesses. Despite the recent changes around the NFL and AFC East, specifically, via the start of free agency, it’s still business as usual.

According to BetMGM, the Patriots are the divisional favorite, despite their loss of quarterback Tom Brady. However, the Patriots did have one of the NFL’s best defensive units in the league last year so there’s that to consider.

The Pats’ early over/ under total lands at 9.5

But the Bills also have a stout defense, and instead of losing key pieces on offense, they’ve added. Stefon Diggs recently headed to western New York via trade, but Buffalo’s over/ under total is slated just below the Patriots at 8.5.

As the offseason churns on, things are likely going to change for every team in the division, so before the start of the 2020 season, the Bills could eventually become the favorite. It’s a fluid situation, but oddsmakers are still trusting Bill Belichick more, if ever so slightly.

Around the same time just a year ago, the Patriots had a much bigger edge. Their over/ under landed at 11 wins, compared to the Bills at six.

That leap from six wins to 8.5 also sees the Bills overtake the Jets as the second-favorite in the division in this early stage of the offseason as compared to last year. In 2019, the Jets landed at an over/ under of seven.

Flash forward to the present, the Jets drop down to an over/ under of 6.5 wins, slightly edging out the Dolphins, who have an over/ under of six.

In regard to the entire conference, clubhouse leaders include the Chiefs (11.5) and Ravens (11).

Oddsmakers: Bills over/ under sees big jump

Buffalo Bills 2020 over/ under.

The Bills easily reached their over/ under win total in 2019. Ahead of last season, many oddsmakers put the Bills’ over/ under win total at 6.5.

At 10-6, the Bills cleared that without a problem.

With the 2020 offseason now in full swing with Super Bowl LIV behind us, the Bills clock in at a much higher guess.

According to OddsShark on Wednesday, the Bills opened up at an 8.5 over/ under win total for next season. That’s a tie for the fifth-highest win total in the AFC.

The defending champion Chiefs have the highest total in the entire NFL with 11.5. Right behind them are the Ravens at 11, with the AFC East’s highest prediction then clocking in with the Patriots at 10.5 in little surprise.

But the Bills are well ahead of the Jets and Dolphins in regard to over/ unders. The Jets sit at 6.5 while the Dolphins are in a three-way tie with the Bengals and Redskins for the lowest over/ under win total at 5.5.

While the Bills did easily reach their mark last season, bettors beware. Buffalo’s schedule was one of the easier ones in 2019. The way things sit now, the Bills will face the fifth-toughest set of opponents next season.

Here’s how the full breakdown looks:

Oddsmakers: Bills open as slight underdog vs. Texans

Buffalo Bills are slight underdogs vs. the Houston Texans on Wild Card weekend.

The Bills are onto the playoffs and can keep their 2019 season mantra going into it.

On Saturday at 4:35 p.m. the Bills will visit the Houston Texans, the AFC South champions, for their Wild Card weekend outing. They’ll do so as underdogs.

According to BetMGM, the Texans open at three-point favorites over the Bills.

The spread isn’t exactly the most disrespectful one, though. Oddsmakers typically give the home team a three-point edge in games. So had the game been at New Era Field, the game could be considered a toss-up. Both teams enter the game with a 10-6 overall record.

But the road could be a comfortable spot for the Bills, who had a 6-2 record during their games away from Orchard Park this season.

The moneyline sits at Bills (+145) and Texans (-165). The over/ under is 41, the lowest of any game on Wild Card weekend.

Oddsmakers: Despite playoffs, Bills open as favorite vs. Jets

Buffalo Bills, New York Jets Week 17 money line, spreads, odds and over/ under.

The Bills have nothing to play for against the New York Jets in Week 17. The Jets are playing for the ol’ pride factor. Buffalo already has the No. 5 seed in the AFC playoffs locked up.

Despite that, oddsmakers still give the Bills the edge in this one.

According to BetMGM, the Bills have opened as 1.5-point favorites against the Jets in their season finale.

As the home team, the Bills will typically see a three-point boost for playing this one at New Era Field. After their Week 16 loss to the Patriots, Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott said he hadn’t decided yet if the Bills would be playing their starters or not.

Regardless, it would be insane for the Bills to do so for an entire game which is meaningless. So expect it to be Jets starters against Bills backups. This factor also makes the Bills being favorites even more intriguing.

The Bills and Jets last met on opening day. In that one, the Jets were three-point favorites in a game the Bills won outright.

Once again, the Bills have the lowest over/ under in the NFL heading into a week. That’ set at 36.5. The money line sits Bills (-120) and Jets (+100) as well.

Oddsmakers: Bills underdogs again vs. Patriots

Buffalo Bills vs. New England Patriots Week 16 over/ under, odds, moneyline, spread.

The New England Patriots are once again touchdown favorites over the Buffalo Bills in Week 16 after being just that earlier this season.

According to BetMGM, the Patriots are 6.5-point favorites over the Bills in New England this upcoming week. In Week 4 during the first meeting between these two AFC East foes, the Bills were 7.5-point underdogs.

Last week the Bills opened as two-point underdogs to the Steelers for their Week 15 Sunday Night Football meeting.

The over/ under for the upcoming Bills-Patriots meeting is 38.5, the second-lowest in the NFL’s Week 16 slate, behind only the Lions and Broncos over/ under of 38. The moneyline is set as Bills (+235) and Patriots (-285).

In Saturday’s game, there will be AFC East title implications for both sides. With a win, the Bills can still have a chance at winning the division, but the Patriots also have to lose in Week 17 to the Dolphins in order for Buffalo to capture the title. A win for the Pats and it’s theirs.

Oddsmakers: Bills road favorite vs. winning Dolphins

Buffalo Bills Miami Dolphins Week 11 odds

The Dolphins enter Week 11 as the winning team in their meeting with the Bills. At least in a “what have you done for me lately” sense.

Despite their best efforts to acquire draft capital and increase its value via losing, the Dolphins are winners of back-to-back games.

The Bills are fresh off losing as an underdog to the Browns, 19-16, in Week 10. The Dolphins recently beat the Colts 16-12.

Despite that, the Bills are the favored team this week over the Dolphins. Per BetMGM, the Bills open as 6.5-point favorites against the Dolphins in Week 11 on the road.

The Bills won 31-21 against the Dolphins earlier this year, but were assisted by a very random Micah Hyde score late in the game after he recovered an onside kick.

Buffalo opened as 15.5-point favorites in their first meeting.

The over/ under for the game is set at 39 points.
