Where Texas signees land in the final On3 consensus update

Texas has nine of the Top 100 players in the 2023 class.

On paper, the Texas Longhorns have an incredible 2023 recruiting class. Scouting authorities came to that conclusion after months to years of scouting numerous recruits.

Following the 247Sports recruiting rankings update, the On3 consensus compiled its final ranking. The consensus took in scouting grades from four major recruiting publications. Those included 247Sports, Rivals, ESPN and On3 Sports.

There’s strength in numbers in scouting as multiple scouting reports help build an informed opinion. While there are instances where an assistant like Tom Herman stands on the table for a prospect like Joe Burrow, there is merit in seeing how a majority of scouts view individual players.

Nobody needs to stand on the table to defend the Longhorns’ top prospect in the 2023 class. Arch Manning makes the list as the No. 1 player in the country according to the consensus.

Here’s a look at Texas players who rank in the Top 300 of the combined rankings.

An updated look at On3’s recruiting rankings for the 2023 class

All focus is on recruiting as we enter a crucial summer for Steve Sarkisian and the Texas staff.

All focus is on recruiting as we enter a crucial summer for Steve Sarkisian and the Texas staff. Many top prospects will be either taking official visits over the next few months or making decisions on their future homes.

Texas has positioned itself well so far for another excellent class in 2023. The Longhorns rank No. 11 in On3’s consensus top 25 recruiting rankings with only five players in the class for far.

A few high-profile targets could swing Texas way up or down this list as time goes on. Five-star quarterback Arch Manning is the biggest piece of the puzzle for Texas in 2023. Landing Manning would cause other dominos to fall in the Longhorns direction.

Texas Tech (No. 14), Oklahoma (No. 18) and Baylor (No. 21) join Texas as Big 12 schools in the top 25.

Where Texas commits rank in the new On3 consensus rankings

Two players rank inside the top 100!

Steve Sarkisian and his staff are about to be in the thick of recruiting within the 2022 class. There are still plenty of prospects left on the board Texas will be going after, plus a couple who are committed elsewhere.

Everybody is always concerned as to where the Longhorns and their commits are ranked compared to other programs. Three websites have traditionally done that for us, but now, there is a new database rolling out.

On3 has built a new player database with recruits being involved. Alongside their own rankings, they have introduced the On3 consensus — similar to the 247Sports composite. It takes the rankings from 247Sports, ESPN, Rivals, and On3 and combines them into one rating.

For Texas, they have two players inside the top 100. Wide receiver Brenen Thompson (No. 48)  and running back Jamarion Miller (No. 98) are the highest on the offensive side of the ball, while Jaray Bledsoe (No. 196) is top of the defense.

Here is where all Texas’ prospects rank in the new On3 consensus.
