2025 defensive tackle decommits from the Oklahoma Sooners

2025 defensive tackle Floyd Boucard decommits from the Oklahoma Sooners.

The Oklahoma Sooners [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag] took a hit on Monday evening. Defensive tackle [autotag]Floyd Boucard[/autotag] announced via social media he is decommitting from the Sooners.

“I would like to thank the University of Oklahoma for welcoming me with open arms,” Boucard said. “It’s after much consideration, thought and conversations with my family that I’ve made the decision to recommit and I am now reopening my recruitment to all schools.”

Boucard was reportedly supposed to visit the hometown Miami Hurricanes over the weekend, creating a shroud of mystery in the direction of his recruitment. He’s considered a four-star prospect by Rivals and a three-star recruit by 247Sports and On3.

In addition to his offer from Oklahoma, Boucard holds offers from Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Missouri, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, South Carolina, USC, Miami, Florida and Florida State.

The Sooners still have defensive linemen C.J. Nickson, Trent Wilson, Ka’Mori Moore, and Alexander Shieldknight pledged to their 2025 recruiting class.

Oklahoma Sooners predicted to land 2025 5-star offensive tackle

The Sooners are picking up momentum in the recruitment of 2025 offensive tackle Michael Fasusi.

If there’s been a big fish in the [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag], it’s offensive tackle [autotag]Michael Fasusi[/autotag]. As was the case for [autotag]David Stone[/autotag] in the 2024 cycle, all eyes have been on Fasusi the last couple of years.

He has been a priority target for OU and offensive line coach [autotag]Bill Bedenbaugh[/autotag]. As we near Fasusi’s planned commitment date on Aug. 21, the process appears trending in a positive direction for the Oklahoma Sooners.

Late Wednesday night, Brandon Drumm of OUInsider and Rivals dropped a futurecast predicting Fasusi to land with the Oklahoma Sooners. It’s the first prediction issued by one of the major recruiting sites since April for Fasusi.

Back in March and April, it appeared the Texas Longhorns held a substantial lead in Fasusi’s recruitment. Analysts from Rivals and 247Sports placed predictions favoring Oklahoma’s Red River Rivals. But with his commitment date less than a week away, the start of the high school football season upon us and just a few months away from the early signing period, the Sooners have grabbed some momentum.

According to ESPN, he’s one of the 32 best players in the 2025 class overall, ranking as high as No. 9. 247Sports has Fasusi as the No. 27 player in the cycle and the No. 5 offensive tackle. Rivals ranks the Lewisville native as the No. 11 player in 2025 and the No. 2 offensive tackle.

It’s a key recruitment to continue to follow for Bedenbaugh and the Sooners. He’s a dynamic player who has the potential to compete for a starting role early in his collegiate career. At 6 feet, 5 inches and 295 pounds and a strong athletic profile, Fasusi has a chance to be great at the next level.

2026 In-state 4-Star running back includes Oklahoma in top 11

The Sooners remain in the hunt for 2026 four-star running back out of the state of Oklahoma.

The Oklahoma Sooners have shown in previous recruiting cycles a desire to take multiple running backs in a recruiting cycle. They’ve signed at least two scholarship backs in each of the last three recruiting cycles.

The Sooners are hoping to do the same in the [autotag]2026 recruiting class[/autotag]. They’ve already received a commitment from four-star running back [autotag]Jonathan Hatton[/autotag]. They’re also pursuing a number of blue-chip runners, one of which is a standout from the Tulsa area, [autotag]Kaydin Jones[/autotag]. Jones dropped his top 11 on social media on Wednesday and included the Sooners.

Along with the Oklahoma Sooners were Oregon, Michigan State, Alabama, Missouri, Vanderbilt, Louisville, Miami, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, and Tennessee. He has a total of 22 offers, 21 of which are from Power 4 schools across the country.

Jones is a composite four-star running back, according to 247Sports. Oklahoma offered back in June of 2023.

An Oklahoma legacy, Kaydin Jones has spent time with the Sooners in camp settings, impressing those in attendance with his quickness, elusiveness, and ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. A true dual-threat runner, Jones racked up 2,205 all-purpose yards and 19 touchdowns as a sophomore.

Jones displays fantastic contact balance, breaking tackles and picking up extra yards. He’s got quick feet and is an elusive runner. He’s shown the ability to line up in a number of spots on offense and can run a full route tree.

He’s got all the talent to be a dynamic player at the collegiate level and beyond. Here’s hoping it’s with the Oklahoma Sooners.

Trio of Oklahoma Sooners recruiting targets among ESPN’s top 25 prospects

The Oklahoma Sooners are in pursuit of three of the best prospects in the nation regardless of recruiting class.

The Oklahoma Sooners [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag] is nearly complete. They have 22 players committed to the class but are working to earn commitments from three more targets this cycle.

Five-star offensive tackles [autotag]Michael Fasusi[/autotag] and [autotag]Andrew Babalola[/autotag], five-star safety [autotag]Jonah Williams[/autotag], and four-star linebacker [autotag]Christian Jones[/autotag] are the top remaining targets. Fasusi and Williams are considered two of the top prospects in the country regardless of recruiting class.

ESPN’s Billy Tucker ranked the top 25 (ESPN+) prospects regardless of recruiting class, with Williams coming in at No. 16 and Fasusi landing at No. 20.

At one point, the Sooners were considered the leaders for Williams. His recruitment has taken a number of twists and turns. After Oklahoma, Texas A&M became the perceived leader. Texas and Oregon have also had their time as the leaders for Williams. This feels like a recruitment that nobody truly knows where it’s headed except for Williams. He set a top five that left out the Sooners, but don’t sleep on [autotag]Brent Venables[/autotag] and his staff to find their way back into the race for one of 2025’s very best players.

Williams, a safety who is listed as an outside linebacker, can be a versatile player with his combination of size and speed. He’s already 6-3, 205 pounds with length and will continue to fill out and grow into the linebacker role. He makes an impact regardless of alignment and shows flashes reminiscent of 2019 ESPN 300 safety and former Notre Dame standout Kyle Hamilton. Williams has elite range to both match up in coverage and act as a sideline-to-sideline presence. He displays excellent ball skills, and his length and leaping ability allow him to win contested matchups. In addition to playmaking tools, Williams also shows good toughness. He can be a physical, wrap-up tackler and brings ball carriers down in space. The transition to linebacker should be a smooth one in college as he continues to add size. – Tucker, ESPN

The Sooners are in a good spot with Fasusi. They’ll have to contend with Texas and Texas A&M for his commitment. He’s been on campus several times and even called Bill Bedenbaugh the GOAT (greatest of all time) on social media.

Fasusi has all the tools to be an elite offensive tackle at both the collegiate and NFL levels.

Fasusi certainly looks the part. He stands 6-6, 295 pounds with an 83.3-inch wingspan and a 1.77 10-yard split, creating an unparalleled length and agility combination. As one might expect, he plays with good initial quickness and explosive power. He has worked to add to his wiry frame as he has gotten older and now plays with excellent strength in the run game. Fasusi gets great hand placement, pops his hips and drives defenders off the ball with his physicality. His improved functional strength could allow him to star at guard if he never develops elite pass protection skills at tackle, but he has the length and athleticism to handle either tackle position with further technical development. Fasusi presents a captivating ball of clay for an elite program to continue molding. – Tucker, ESPN

In addition to Williams and Fasusi, the Sooners are also in pursuit of 2026 athlete [autotag]Brandon Arrington[/autotag]. He comes in at No. 23 in the nation.

Arrington may be a better track athlete than football player at this stage, but he has elite sprinter speed. The 6-3, 180-pounder broke California’s sophomore state record with a 20.55 200-meter dash this spring and won the state’s Gatorade Track and Field Player of the Year award. On the football field, Arrington has clocked a max speed north of 21 mph. The wide receiver can flip the field on offense in the blink of an eye and has great length and closing speed to project at corner. Now he needs to continue to refine his game. The top-ranked athlete in his class has elite upside and more than 20 FBS offers. – Tucker ESPN

Arrington is an elite athlete that has a chance to be a difference maker on both sides of the ball like Colorado’s Travis Hunter and the speed to create big plays on special teams as a return man.

The Sooners also have offers out to offensive tackle [autotag]Immanuel Iheanacho[/autotag] (No. 17), offensive tackle [autotag]Jackson Cantwell[/autotag] (No. 13), tight end [autotag]Kendre Harrison[/autotag] (No. 10), and defensive lineman [autotag]Elijah Griffin[/autotag] (No. 8). There is varied interest in Oklahoma, but the Sooners will have their opportunity to move the needle on the recruiting trail.

Sooners favored to land 2026 wide receiver Aljour Miles, Jr.

Oklahoma looks like the trending favorite to land 2026 wide receiver Aljour Miles out of Kaufman, Texas.

The Oklahoma Sooners have earned significant commitments to kick off the [autotag]2026 recruiting class[/autotag].

Four-star prospects [autotag]Jaden O’Neal[/autotag], [autotag]Jonathan Hatton[/autotag] and [autotag]Ryder Mix[/autotag] have gotten the ball rolling for the Sooners for next year’s recruiting class. As it looks to build upon it, OU appears to have some momentum in the recruitment of Kaufman athlete Aljour Miles.

Parker Thune and Brandon Drumm of OUInsider, along with Marshall Levenson, issued Rivals futurecasts favoring the Sooners in the recruitment for Miles.

According to Thune, the Sooners see him as a wide receiver at the collegiate level. Though he hasn’t been rated by any of the primary recruiting sites at this point, Miles has the athleticism to be a difference-maker out wide. He shows off good route-running ability and reads the ball well in the air. Miles has the ability to win deep and shows off good hands.

It’s likely he ends the 2026 recruiting cycle as a four-star prospect by signing day.

Miles holds offers from Oklahoma, Colorado State, SMU, Pitt, Tulsa, North Texas, UTEP, UTSA and Boston College.

Oklahoma lands commitment from defensive lineman Floyd Boucard

Floyd Boucard commits to Oklahoma on Saturday over USC, Miami, and Alabama.

Oklahoma’s journey into the SEC is complete, and in less than two months, the Sooners will take the field as SEC members. To prepare for the challenges ahead, Oklahoma had to become a better defensive unit. The most important part of this process was improving how the program recruited along the offensive and defensive lines.

Brent Venables and his defensive line coach, Todd Bates, have entirely different views of what their defensive lines need to look like, and their view matched the defensive lines you see across the SEC.

Teams need size up the middle at the point of attack to disrupt opponents’ efforts to run the ball or sit in the pocket to pick defenses apart in the passing game.

The Sooners continue to recruit the types of defensive linemen necessary, and it makes perfect sense why the Sooners pursued and ultimately earned a commitment from Rivals four-star defensive lineman Floyd Boucard.

Boucard hails from Canada but played his junior season at Mobile Christian in Alabama, where he registered 85 tackles, 27 tackles-for-loss, and 11 sacks. He plans to play for Miami Central High School in Florida for his senior year.

He has a non-stop motor and moves very well for someone who checks in at 6 feet, 3 inches and 315 pounds. He has terrific burst off the snap, and he could be a difference-maker lined up as a nose tackle, defensive tackle and even defensive end in three-man alignments.

His recruitment has seen a number of twists and turns. USC, Alabama and Miami all led at one point. Ultimately, Todd Bates and the Oklahoma Sooners earned the last laugh.

In the lead-up to his commitment, Boucard shared his favorite parts of being recruited by the Sooners. “The coaching staff has shown much love,” Boucard said. “I also like how they want to use me in their scheme.”

With his commitment, the Sooners have 22 commits for the [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag] and remain steady at number nine in the class rankings.

Oklahoma favored to land 2025 defensive lineman out of Florida

Oklahoma Sooners favored to land underrated 2025 defensive lineman out of Florida.

After a fantastic 2024 defensive line haul that netted [autotag]David Stone[/autotag], [autotag]Jayden Jackson[/autotag], [autotag]Nigel Smith[/autotag], [autotag]Danny Okoye[/autotag] and [autotag]Wyatt Gilmore[/autotag], the Oklahoma Sooners have done a nice job adding talent upfront in the [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag].

With five months until the early signing period, the Sooners have commitments from [autotag]C.J. Nickson[/autotag], [autotag]Trent Wilson[/autotag], [autotag]Ka’Mori Moore[/autotag] and [autotag]Alexander Shieldknight[/autotag]. They will bolster a deep unit when they arrive in Norman. It doesn’t look like [autotag]Todd Bates[/autotag] is through by any stretch of the imagination.

The Sooners have been in pursuit of Rivals four-star defensive lineman Floyd Boucard and, on Wednesday evening, earned a trio of crystal ball predictions from 247Sports recruiting insiders Tom Loy, Brian Dohm and Collin Kennedy of Sooners Illustrated.

Boucard is a 6-foot-3, 315-pound defensive tackle prospect who has only played football for a few years. He grew up in Canada playing hockey and the agility and athleticism required is clear.

He’s a dynamic disruptor who plays both defensive tackle and defensive end in three-man fronts for Miami Central. Boucard shows off a really nice first step off the line of scrimmage and great lateral agility. He’s strong and has good play speed for the position. When asked to play in a two-gap call on defense, he does a great job staying disciplined in the system and is fantastic at shedding blocks.

Though considered a three-star prospect by 247Sports and On3, Boucard has a chance to have his ranking climb during his senior season. He has all of the ability teams are looking for from a defensive lineman and has the versatility, ability, and experience to play multiple spots at the next level.

Boucard is set to make his commitment decision on July 20 and looks to be choosing among USC, Miami and Alabama.

Sooners pick up On3 prediction for 2026 offensive lineman out of Texas

Oklahoma Sooners predicted to land three-star offensive lineman Noah Best out of Midlothian, Texas.

The Oklahoma Sooners have had a nice start to the [autotag]2026 recruiting class[/autotag], picking up commitments from a trio of blue-chip stars on the offensive side of the ball.

Kick-started by four-star running back [autotag]Jonathan Hatton, Jr.[/autotag], he was joined in the class by four-star tight end [autotag]Ryder Mix[/autotag] and four-star quarterback [autotag]Jaden O’Neal[/autotag].

The Sooners have been at work this summer looking to move the needle with more prospects in the 2026 class. One player on their radar is Midlothian, Texas, native and three-star interior offensive line prospect Noah Best.

Best is considered the No. 29 overall interior offensive lineman in the class and holds offers from 10 Power Four schools, including SEC programs Oklahoma, Arkansas, LSU, Missouri, Texas and Texas A&M.

Amid these big-time offers, it looks as if the Sooners have a leg up in his recruitment. SoonerScoop and On3’s Josh McCuistion issued a prediction favoring Oklahoma in his recruitment.

Best is a 6-foot-4, 290-pound prospect who plays left tackle for his Midlothian squad. He moves really well in the run game, getting off the line of scrimmage in a hurry. Best is a physical player with the ability to block down on defensive tackles or get to the second level to take out linebackers.

In pass protection, he again shows quick feet to get into his pass set and anchors well on the bull rush.

Best is an intriguing prospect that looks to have four-star potential in the cycle. With experience at tackle, he’d provide Bill Bedenbaugh some versatility along the offensive line.

Sooners 5-Star offensive line target sets commitment date

Oklahoma Sooners five-star offensive line target sets commitment date.

In arguably the biggest recruiting storyline of the cycle, one of the Oklahoma Sooners’ top targets for the [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag] has set his commitment date.

Five-star offensive tackle [autotag]Michael Fasusi[/autotag] will make his decision on Aug. 21, prior to the start of the Texas high school football season.

Fasusi is one of the top prospects in the class, coming in at No. 12 overall in the 247Sports composite rankings. He is the No. 3 offensive tackle prospect in the class.

In what will likely come down to Red River Rivals Oklahoma and Texas, Fasusi is also being heavily pursued by programs that have already made splashes in the 2025 cycle. Oregon, Missouri and Texas A&M are in the mix, and as his recruitment winds down, those programs could turn the tide away from OU and Texas.

Fasusi was on campus with the Sooners for his official visit on June 14. He visited the Longhorns the following weekend.

After spending time in Norman, Fasusi took to social media to heap praise on Oklahoma offensive line coach [autotag]Bill Bedenbaugh[/autotag]. He told On3’s Chad Simmons that the potential for development is the biggest draw to Oklahoma.

There will be a number of factors at play for the Sooners in their pursuit of Fasusi, but they have five weeks to close the deal.

Oklahoma included in top 4 for 2025 four-star defensive lineman

Oklahoma was included in the top four for Rivals four-star defensive tackle Floyd Boucard.

As they continue to build their defensive tackle ranks for the new world in the SEC, the Oklahoma Sooners have been in pursuit of Rivals four-star defensive tackle [autotag]Floyd Boucard[/autotag].

Boucard, out of Miami, Florida, has narrowed his recruitment to four schools. The 6-foot-3, 315-pound defensive tackle trimmed his list to the Sooners, Alabama Crimson Tide, USC Trojans and Miami Hurricanes.

Predictions from On3’s Steve Wiltfong and 247Sports Tom Loy favor the USC Trojans in Boucard’s recruitment, but the Sooners remain in the mix.

He holds offers from more than 20 Power Four programs, including Georgia, LSU, Penn State, Oregon, Florida, Florida State, Ole Miss, Missouri and Colorado.

Currently, the Sooners have two interior defensive linemen committed to their [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag]: [autotag]Ka’Mori Moore[/autotag] and [autotag]Trent Wilson[/autotag]. The Sooners are still hoping to add defensive end [autotag]Kade Pietrzak[/autotag] to their ranks as well.

Though Boucard may not go their way, the Sooners still have some big-time prospects pledged to join them in 2025.
