Oklahoma City Thunder at New Orleans Pelicans Game 4 odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Oklahoma City Thunder at New Orleans Pelicans odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Oklahoma City Thunder and New Orleans Pelicans meet Monday for Game 4 of their best-of-7 Western Conference 1st-round series, which OKC leads 3-0. Tip-off from Smoothie King Center is set for 8:30 p.m. ET (NBA TV). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Thunder vs. Pelicans odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Oklahoma City routed New Orleans 106-85 on Saturday while covering as a 1.5-point road favorite. OKC’s defense continues to shine this series as rookie C Chet Holmgren now has 11 blocks while the Pelicans only have 10 blocks as a team.

The Thunder had 3 starters score 20-plus points in the win. No scorer for the Pelicans reached the 20-point mark and every player who played 10 minutes or more Saturday finished with a negative plus/minus.

Thunder at Pelicans picks and predictions

Prediction

Thunder 107, Pelicans 96

Moneyline

PASS.

I expect the Thunder (-190) to pick up the win and complete the sweep here, but they are not worth the risk of betting on as such a heavy favorite. Bet on the spread and/or total instead.

Against the spread

BET THUNDER -4.5 (-115).

The Thunder have covered the spread in back-to-back games and are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games. OKC is also 4-1 ATS in its last 5 matchups with New Orleans overall, leading 2-1 ATS this series.

The Pelicans are also only 2-4 ATS in their last 6 games, making this bet even more safe.

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 204.5 (-110).

The Under has hit in 3 of Oklahoma City’s last 4 games and is 5-2 in its last 7. For New Orleans, the Under is 4-1 in its last 5 games and is 6-3-1 in its last 10. The Under has also hit in 2 of the 3 games this series, being 6-3 in the last 9 OKC-New Orleans matchups overall.

This is only a lean because an Under number of 204.5 always comes with a fair amount of risk in today’s high-scoring NBA.

Oklahoma City Thunder at New Orleans Pelicans Game 3 odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Oklahoma City Thunder at New Orleans Pelicans odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Oklahoma City Thunder and New Orleans Pelicans meet in Game 3 of a best-of-7 Western Conference, 1st-round series Saturday. The Thunder lead the series 2-0. Tip-off from Smoothie King Center is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET (TNT). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Thunder vs. Pelicans odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The top-seeded Thunder covered as 7.5-point favorites in a 124-92 win in Game 2 Wednesday with the Over (210) cashing in Oklahoma City.

G Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had a game-high 33 points for the Thunder, who have covered 5 of their last 6. F Chet Holmgren finished with 26 points and 7 rebounds, and F Jalen Williams added 21 points. New Orleans, which is the 8 seed, had no player score 20+ points.

Oklahoma City has won the past 4 meetings between these teams, going 3-1 against the spread (ATS), while the Under has hit in 5 of the last 8.

Thunder at Pelicans picks and predictions

Prediction

Thunder 104, Pelicans 103

Moneyline

The Pelicans are just 22-20 at home this season, compared to 28-15 on the road, so backing New Orleans at Smoothie King Center without its leading scorer in Williamson doesn’t fill me with confidence over the course of a full game.

However, the 1st half of Game 3 is usually a good spot for home teams that are down 2-0 in a series. We saw the Orlando Magic and Los Angeles Lakers both cash their 1st-half moneylines Thursday, and a veteran team like New Orleans should be able to bounce back as well.

BET PELICANS 1ST HALF (-145).

Against the spread

While I prefer laying -145 with the 1st-half ML, which also gives us the ability to push on a tie, the spread is low enough that the Pelicans will likely cover it if they’re leading after the 2nd quarter. If you’re uncomfortable risking $145 to win $100 on the 1st-half ML, then the spread may be your better option.

LEAN PELICANS 1ST HALF -1.5 (-110).

Over/Under

Betting the Under has been profitable in recent meetings between these teams. The Under has also gone 7-4 this season when New Orleans is a home underdog, as the added pressure from being outmatched seems to motivate the Pelicans on the defensive end.

BET UNDER 209.5 (-110).

New Orleans Pelicans at Oklahoma City Thunder Game 2 odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s New Orleans Pelicans at Oklahoma City Thunder odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The New Orleans Pelicans and Oklahoma City Thunder meet in Game 2 of a best-of-7 Western Conference, 1st-round series Wednesday. The Thunder lead the series 1-0. Tip-off from Paycom Center is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. ET (TNT). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Pelicans vs. Thunder odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The 8th-seeded Pelicans covered as 8.5-point underdogs in Game 1, but the host Thunder came away with the 94-92 victory Sunday as the Under (216.5) hit.

G Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored a game-high 28 points for the top-seeded Thunder, who snapped a 4-game against-the-spread (ATS) winning streak. Gilgeous-Alexander scored the go-ahead bucket with 32 seconds remaining, handing New Orleans its 3rd loss in its last 4 games.

Oklahoma City is 3-0 straight up and 2-1 ATS vs. New Orleans in the last 3 head-to-head meetings, and the Under has hit in 6 of the last 9.

Pelicans at Thunder picks and predictions

Prediction

Thunder 106, Pelicans 103

Moneyline

The Thunder (-350) are 34-8 at Paycom Center this season after Sunday’s win, good for the 3rd-best home record in the NBA. The Pelicans, even if they have a lead, will most likely struggle to close this game out without their leading scorer in Williamson (22.9 points per game).

However, it’s a losing proposition long term to bet -350 favorites in the NBA.

PASS. Bet the spread and/or total instead.

Against the spread

The Thunder are among the weaker No. 1 seeds in recent memory, due to their lack of playoff experience. Typically, the No. 1 seed in the better conference wouldn’t be +1400 at BetMGM Sportsbook to win the NBA Finals. The Thunder avoided the upset in Game 1, but they haven’t been downgraded enough for their performance.

The Pelicans have veterans like G CJ McCollum and C Jonas Valanciunas, who have made postseason runs with the Portland Trail Blazers and Toronto Raptors, respectively. Give me the veterans catching 7.5 points against the youngest No. 1 seed in NBA history — the average age on the Thunder is 23.4 years old.

BET PELICANS +7.5 (-110).

Over/Under

The Under has been cashing regularly in Pelicans-Thunder matchups, and Game 1 was no exception. These teams play each other tight, and without Williamson on the floor, I expect Game 2 to unfold in a similar fashion to Sunday night’s low-scoring affair.

BET UNDER 211.5 (-110).

PASS.

There is no value on the Thunder (-350), who are 33-8 at home this season.

The Pelicans are without Williamson, who leads the team with 22.9 points per game.

Season series: Thunder lead 2-1

The Spurs, who have the worst record in the Western Conference, play their final road game of the season Wednesday. They have won 2 of their last 3 games and are 5-3 in their last 8. They are coming off a 102-87 road win over the Memphis Grizzlies Tuesday night, covering as 6-point favorites.

The Thunder are battling for the No. 1 seed in the conference. They are currently in 3rd place and just 1 game back of the Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves, who are both 55-24. Spurs at Thunder picks and predictions

Prediction

Thunder 125, Spurs 115

Moneyline

The Thunder (-1600) are 30-8 at home this season, while the Spurs are 10-30 on the road. Their last meeting in Oklahoma City (Nov. 14) was a 123-87 blowout win for the Thunder.

The Spurs are playing well and would love to play spoiler for the Thunder, but OKC is in play for home-court advantage throughout the playoffs, and they are healthy, so don’t go betting the Spurs.

And betting the Thunder at -1600 isn’t worth the action.

PASS.

Against the spread

The 15.5-point spread is a lot!

The Spurs have been a very solid bet ATS. They are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games.

The Thunder are 7-6 ATS on no rest. The Spurs are 5-7 ATS.

The Thunder’s last win by more than 15 points was March 22.

The Spurs only have 1 loss by more than 15 points in their last 21 games.

BET SPURS +15.5 (-105).

Over/Under

The last 2 meetings this season between these teams had totals that cleared 250 points.

Three of the last 4 games for the Thunder have had totals higher than 226.

Half of the Spurs’ last 6 have had totals higher than this game’s projection.

BET OVER 226.5 (-110).

Season series: Sacramento leads 2-1

Sacramento routed the Brooklyn Nets 107-77 Sunday while covering as a 10.5-point road favorite. The Kings won the rebounding battle 54-46 and the turnover battle 17-9 and the win ended a 2-game losing streak.

OKC came away with a 121-118 over the Charlotte Hornets Sunday, failing to cover as a 7.5-point road favorite. The Thunder saw 7 players score in double figures in ending a 3-game losing streak.

Kings at Thunder picks and predictions

Prediction

Kings 117, Thunder 114

Moneyline

PASS.

I like the Kings (+148) to cover here and possibly pick up the win, especially since they are 8-2 in their last 10 matchups with OKC. However, their odds are safer with the points, especially given the fact that the Thunder have been the better team all season.

Against the spread

BET KINGS +4 (-110).

Sacramento has covered the spread in back-to-back outings and is 4-1 ATS in its last 5 games. The Thunder have also been bad ATS lately, failing to cover the spread in each of their last 5 games and being only 3-7 ATS in their last 10. The Kings are also 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 matchups vs. OKC.

Over/Under

BET OVER 228 (-112).

The Over has hit in each of OKC’s last 3 games and is 7-3 in its last 10 outings. For Oklahoma City, the Over is 45-32-1 on the year. The Over has also hit in back-to-back Sacramento-OKC matchups, being 6-2-1 in the last 9 meetings.

Be aware that the Over is 8-2 in Sacramento’s last 10.

Season series: Thunder lead 1-0 after a 126-106 home win on Feb. 2, covering the 15.5-point spread as the Over (224.5) cashed

The Thunder lost their 3rd straight game on Friday night, 126-112 to the Indiana Pacers, who knocked down 15 three-pointers in the victory. OKC failed to cover the spread as a 6.5-point underdog while the Over (234) cashed. The Thunder was paced by G Luguentz Dort‘s 22 points and 18 from F Kenrich Williams off the bench. The Thunder have clinched a playoff spot and currently sit as the 3rd seed in the Western Conference.

Charlotte snapped a 4-game losing streak on Friday night with a 124-115 win over the Orlando Magic. It covered the spread as a 12-point underdog and the Over (207) cashed. Thunder at Hornets picks and predictions

Prediction

Thunder 113, Hornets 106

Moneyline

PASS.

You should avoid betting the Thunder (-360), as the juice is too much. Bet the spread and/or total instead.

Against the spread

BET HORNETS +8.5 (-110).

Clearly, the Thunder are the superior team, but they haven’t played like it lately. They’ve lost 3 straight and failed to cover in 5 of their last 6 games.

Meanwhile, the Hornets have lost 8 of their last 10 games but they have covered 4 of their last 6. Charlotte has also covered the spread in 5 of their last 6 matchups with the Thunder.

Over/Under

BET OVER 216.5 (-110).

In 3 of their last 4 meetings, the teams have gone Over the total. The Thunder have been Over the total in 6 of their last 7 games, and the Hornets have gone Over in 6 of their last 8 games.

The Thunder are the 4th-highest scoring team in the NBA this season while  Charlotte allows the 10th-most points in the league.

The Indiana Pacers (43-34) welcome the Oklahoma City Thunder (52-24) to Gainbridge Fieldhouse Friday. Tip is set for 7 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Thunder vs. Pacers odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Pacers lead 1-0 after a 121-111 road win on March 12, covering as a 5.5-point underdog

Indiana is 3-3 in its last 6 games, coming off a 115-111 loss to the Brooklyn Nets on the road Wednesday and closing as a 7-point favorite. The Pacers are 6-3 against the spread (ATS) in their last 9 games and are 41-33-3 ATS on the season. They are led by G Tyrese Haliburton, who is averaging 20.4 points and 11 assists per game.

The Thunder are coming off a 135-100 road loss to the Boston Celtics Wednesday as a 12-point underdog. They have lost 2 in a row and 3 of their last 5, going 1-4 ATS in that 5-game stretch. Prediction

Pacers 121, Thunder 110

Moneyline

PASS.

Without SGA and likely without Williams, the Thunder could be without their lone 2 players averaging more than 17 points per game. They likely won’t pull off the upset, but the Pacers at -180 are too expensive to take to win outright.

Against the spread

BET PACERS -4.5 (-110).

Indiana is 3-1 ATS in its last 4 games as a home favorite. The Pacers are the 7th-best home-covering team in the NBA at 20-16-2 ATS. They are the healthier side and have both players who average north of 20 points per game not on the injury report.

The same can’t be said for Oklahoma City. The Thunder have 3 players among their top-7 scoring options shooting over 50% from the field and 1 is out while the other is doubtful. It won’t be the same dominant OKC team taking the court, and it could struggle.

Put it all together and back PACERS -4.5 (-110).

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 235.5 (-110).

The Thunder have scored 105 points or fewer in 2 straight games and will be playing their 3rd game in 4 days. They should have tired legs which could make keeping up with the Pacers high-octane offense difficult.

The Pacers are 1-3 O/U in their last 4 games, scoring 111 or fewer points in 3 of their last 4 and allowing 115 or fewer points in 3 straight. Indiana is 3-7 O/U in its last 10 games.

Take UNDER 235.5 (-110).

Oklahoma City Thunder at Boston Celtics odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Oklahoma City Thunder at Boston Celtics odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Oklahoma City Thunder (52-23) square off against the Boston Celtics (59-16) Wednesday with tip-off from TD Garden set for 7:30 p.m. ET (ESPN). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Thunder vs. Celtics odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Thunder lead 1-0

The Thunder dropped the 1st game of their road trip 109-105 Tuesday against the Philadelphia 76ers. G Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (quadriceps) didn’t play, and F Jalen Williams left after 34 seconds with an ankle injury that will keep him on the sidelines with SGA Wednesday. F Chet Holmgren had 22 points and 7 boards while shooting 3 for 6 from downtown. The Thunder are tied for 2nd in the West with the Minnesota Timberwolves and sit a half-game out of 1st.

The Celtics have things wrapped up in the East and will be a dangerous betting commodity down the stretch with little to play for and rest likely. They’re coming off a 4-2 road trip and took down the Charlotte Hornets 118-104 Monday. F Jayson Tatum had 25 points and 10 boards while G Jaylen Brown sat out.

Thunder at Celtics and predictions

Prediction

Celtics 117, Thunder 111

Moneyline

Per usual, you can’t entertain the Celtics ML here, and it’s tough to envision the Thunder without 2 starters overcoming the mountain that is this Boston squad.

So let’s nail a prop. C Kristaps Porzingis had 34 points and 12 boards in the Jan. 2 loss to OKC. He’s averaging 19 PPG over the last 5 games, and if Brown is out again, he’ll be relied upon more. Take KRISTAPS PORZINGIS OVER 29.5 POINTS+REBOUNDS+ASSISTS (-105).

Against the spread

I like OKC here. They’re just 3-7 ATS over the last 10, but they are 7-3 straight up. They beat the Celtics in January 127-123 in OKC, and they have enough to stay within striking distance.

Take the THUNDER +8.5 (-105).

Over/Under

The Celtics are 8-2 O/U over their last 10, and OKC is 6-4. The Over is also 8-2 in the last 10 meetings between the teams. The problem I have is this is the 2nd-highest total of the last 11 meetings. We’re potentially down 3 or more starters from the teams, so I’ll take the UNDER 231.5 (-110).

Oklahoma City Thunder at Philadelphia 76ers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Oklahoma City Thunder at Philadelphia 76ers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Oklahoma City Thunder (52-22) take on the Philadelphia 76ers (40-35) Tuesday. Tip-off from Wells Fargo Center is set for 7:30 p.m. ET (TNT). Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Thunder vs. 76ers odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Philadelphia leads 1-0 with a 127-123 road win on Nov. 25

OKC came away with a 113-112 win over the New York Knicks Sunday, failing to cover as a 2-point road favorite. F Jalen Williams scored 33 points and G Shai Gilgeous-Alexander hit the game-winner for OKC. The Thunder have won back-to-back games.

Philly beat the Toronto Raptors 135-120 Sunday while covering as a 9-point road favorite. G Kelly Oubre Jr. scored 32 points, G Cameron Payne had 24 and F Tobias Harris added 21 as the 76ers ended a 3-game losing streak.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported Monday that C Joel Embiid, out since Jan. 30 with a left knee injury, is expected to return this week, possibly as soon as Tuesday against OKC.

Thunder at 76ers picks and predictions

Prediction

Thunder 118, 76ers 114

Moneyline

PASS.

I like OKC to come away with the win here, but the Thunder are not worth the risk of betting on as -198 favorites. Bet on the spread and/or total instead.

Against the spread

BET 76ERS +5 (-108).

Philly has covered the spread in each of its last 3 games and is 5-1 ATS in its last 6 overall. Philadelphia is 2-1 ATS in its last 3 matchups vs. OKC and is 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings. The 76ers are 41-33-1 ATS on the season.

Over/Under

BET OVER 225.5 (-112).

The Over has hit in 4 consecutive games for the Thunder, which is 42-31-1 on this season. For Philadelphia, the Over has hit in 3 straight and is 4-1 in its last 5. The Over is also 38-35-2 for the 76ers on the season. The Over has also hit in back-to-back OKC-Philly matchups.
