Ohio State basketball vs. Wisconsin: How to watch and listen to the game Saturday

Wisconsin comes to town for another Big Ten battle. Here’s how to find the game.

Ohio State vaulted back into the top 25 after upsetting Duke last week. Now the No. 21 Buckeyes welcome the No. 22 Wisconsin Badgers to Value City Arena for an important Big Ten matchup.

The Badgers are 8-1 on the season and looking to add more. But road wins are never easy in the Big Ten as the Blue Devils found out. Chris Holtmann’s squad has been playing well as of late but will need another solid outing to keep Wisconsin from sneaking out of Columbus with a win.

Games now — especially quadrant 1 one like this one — will be very important when it comes to seeding and inclusion in the NCAA Tournament come March. One of these two teams is getting a good resume builder on Saturday.

The Ohio State basketball team keeps showing signs of improvement on the year and has catapulted up the national rankings. Both the AP and Ferris Mowers Coaches Poll now have the Buckeyes in the top fifteen.

The latest evidence of a team on the rise was the road win in Madison over No. 10 Wisconsin on Saturday. It was one in which the Buckeyes held the lead wire-to-wire and finished it off with a double-digit 74-62 win.

If you’re like me, you like to re-live these types of wins. If you’re like me, you also love the Ohio State creative team that is the best in the business at creating Hollywood quality video productions. Welcome to a happy marriage of both, because the Ohio State Hoops Twitter account shared a cinematic recap of the win Monday.

Watch what Wisconsin basketball head coach Greg Gard said about Ohio State after the game

Ohio State went to Wisconsin and sprung a mild upset. Badgers coach Greg Gard had some good things to say about the Buckeyes after the game.

The Ohio State basketball team went to Madison and took down the No. 10 ranked Wisconsin Badgers 74-62. It was a big bounce-back win after a game the Buckeyes lost by two against Purdue. One that felt a lot like it should have been in the win column.

You don’t have to look too far to understand what a huge win this was. Wisconsin had only lost one game at home coming into the contest and had a shot at grabbing sole possession of second place in the Big Ten.

Instead, Ohio State took care of business and kept itself among the upper division of the Big Ten and within arms reach of Iowa, Wisconsin, Purdue, and Illinois in a battle for second place.

Wisconsin head coach Greg Gard met with the media after the game to discuss what he saw from his team and the Buckeyes. He was quick to give OSU credit. If you missed any of his comments, we have them here for you thanks to the YouTube Channel of 247Sports Evan Flood.

Watch Gard discuss how difficult it is to guard Ohio State, how the Buckeyes got off to a quick start, Seth Towns, and more.

Ohio State uses defense and cold shooting by Wisconsin to lead in Madison at the half

Ohio State basketball used some solid defense and took advantage of some cold shooting to lead Wisconsin at the half in Madison.

So far so good for the Ohio State basketball team, though it sure feels like things could be in even better shape. The Buckeyes have used some solid defense and very cold shooting from beyond the arc by Wisconsin to lead the Badgers 32-25.

Wisconsin shot just twenty percent from the three-point line, making just three of the fifteen it fired up. Overall, the Badgers shot just 33.3 percent from the floor, a hard percentage to lay out on the floor and expect to have a lead at halftime.

However, the Buckeyes might look back on the first half and kick themselves for not taking more advantage. OSU has missed several good looks inside the paint, shooting just 46.4 percent from the floor themselves.

Seth Towns leads Ohio State in scoring at the half with eight points, going 4-of-5 from the floor, but it’s been a well-rounded attack for the Buckeyes with seven guys getting on the scoresheet so far. E.J. Liddell has also been effective, scoring seven points with his inside/outside game.

You can almost bank on Wisconsin finding its shooting touch in the second half, so Ohio State will need to play even better and finish opportunities when it gets them. The Buckeyes will need all forty minutes to get the mild upset in this one.

Ohio State slight underdog against Wisconsin Saturday according to BetMGM

Ohio State will travel to Madison to take on Wisconsin Saturday. According to BetMGM, the Buckeyes will be slight underdogs.

Ohio State has a touch challenge heading to Madison to take on second-place Wisconsin on Saturday. As tough as it is, the Buckeyes could use a bounce-back win after letting one slip away against Purdue on Tuesday. OSU had that game under control and in the win column before things fell apart over the last couple of minutes.

Now, with a 5-4 record in the league and a slew of tough games coming up, Ohio State could really use a win to keep in contention for staying in the Big Ten race. A loss wouldn’t hurt postseason plans too terribly much, but it would severely dampen the team’s ability to stay in the conversation.

According to BetMGM, the Buckeyes will have to spring an upset to do so. The Badgers are ranked No. 10 in the country and are favored slightly by 4.5 points.

In a year where most Big Ten games feel like a coin-flip, it wouldn’t be the first time Ohio State sprung an upset. It already took down Illinois on the road last week, and it’ll be looking to send a statement again. And, the team will do it wearing all-black jerseys. That sure sounds like a game to watch if you ask me.

LOOK. Ohio State basketball to wear alternate all-black uniforms against Wisconsin Saturday

You may not recognize the Ohio State hoops team tomorrow afternoon in Madison. The Buckeyes will be rocking all-black alternate uniforms.

It’s nothing new to see the Ohio State basketball program slip some alternate basketball uniforms over their head to take on opponents, but this one feels a little different.

According to a tweet shared by the Ohio State Hoops official Twitter feed, the Buckeyes will be donning some all-black alternates for the road trip against Wisconsin on Saturday. We’ve seen throwbacks, new uniforms, and even grays this year, but the all-black theme is different. The Ohio State football team has rocked an all-black theme, and these look similar.

In case you missed these beauties, we’ve got photos and a video of them that OSU shared on Friday with Justice Sueing and E.J. Liddell showing out.

Ohio State will take on Wisconsin in Madison at 4:00 p.m. EST Saturday. Lights out.

Ohio State basketball vs. Wisconsin: How and where to watch and listen to the game Saturday

Get all the information you need to catch the Buckeyes and Badgers as they square off in a Big Ten conference matchup on Saturday afternoon.

The Ohio State Basketball team let one slip away against Purdue on Tuesday evening. After being in control for most of the game, the Buckeyes let Purdue keep chipping away and finally take a lead with seconds remaining in the contest.

OSU was on a three-game winning streak before the loss to the Boilermakers and now head in Madison for a showdown with Wisconsin. The Bucks might be feeling a little bit of pressure here. They certainly don’t want to drop two conference games in a row and the Kohl Center isn’t an easy place to come out with a win — fans or no fans.

There is some good news for head coach Chris Holtmann and the rest of the Buckeye basketball team as guard CJ Walker could potentially be back for the game against the Badgers. Walker has been sidelined with an injury for the past four games. His presence at the point guard position would be a huge benefit for Ohio State.

The Buckeyes come into the contest ranked No. 15 while the Badgers are ranked No. 10 in the nation. Wisconsin sits tied for second place in conference play at 6-2, with Ohio State is in the middle of the pack at 5-4.

Ohio State basketball suffers disappointing loss at Wisconsin: Three things we learned

The Ohio State basketball team lost a disappointing and frustrating game at Wisconsin. Here are three things we learned.

So about that whole winning streak. Ohio State traveled to Wisconsin with a three-game winning streak in hand, thinking it had turned some things around. Instead of continuing that theme, the Buckeyes reverted back to some ugly trends that were a part of the January slide that brought on so much concern and resulted in the team dropping from the top five to completely out of the rankings.

Ohio State now sits at 15-8 overall, and just 5-7 in the Big Ten. We’re now entering the home stretch of the regular season with just eight games to go. What happens over the next few will determine whether OSU is soundly in the NCAA Tournament, or finds itself on the bubble.

Anyway, as we do after every game, here are three things we took from the game in Madison.

Ohio State basketball loses to Wisconsin: 3 Things we learned

The Ohio State basketball team dropped its second game in a row against Wisconsin Friday night. Here’s three things we learned.

Thank goodness college basketball is a marathon with thirty or so games and not judged by a five game stretch. That’s because the Ohio State basketball team has now lost three of its last five after losing a sloppy and bruising game against Wisconsin Friday night .

It now drops to 1-2 in the Big Ten and clearly has some things things that have risen up as cracks in what was a fantastic start to the season. Chris Holtmann won’t be happy in the postgame locker room after this one, and we’re here to try and pick up the pieces from what just happened on the court. There are clearly things that need to be cleaned up moving forward, and the head man should at least have his team’s attention now.

As always, here’s three things we learned.

Next … This team needs a lesson in composure

Ohio State beats Wisconsin in Big Ten Championship Game: 5 things we learned

Ohio State battled back to take control in the second half of the Big Ten Championship Game to beat Wisconsin. Here’s 5 things we learned.

Ohio State went to Indianapolis, got punched in the face, and had to punch back. It was really the first time this team has had to play from behind with a ton of adversity.

Nothing seemed to be going right for the Buckeyes in the first half, and many left this team for dead. But it didn’t matter. Ohio State stayed within itself and made the necessary adjustments to reel the game back in and take full control late to enjoy all the confetti falling.

At the end of it all, the program secures its third-straight Big Ten title, and likely punched its way to a top two seed in the College Football Playoff.

All credit to Wisconsin for playing tough and having a great game plan, but it wasn’t enough. Here’s three things we learned from what we saw Saturday night in Indianapolis.

The Ohio State defense is not completely unflappable

This is now the third week in a row where we saw some leaks in the Buckeye defense. Things won’t always be perfect of course, but there are ways to move the ball against this team, and you’ll see other try to replicate some things Wisconsin, Michigan, and Penn State did against what had been the best defense in the country all year.

Now, it’s still a very good defense that’ll make stops, but there’s a little bit of concern on some communication and tackling issues that need to be addressed. It was great to see that unit buckle down in the 2nd half, but there needs to be a little improvement before the College Football Playoff hits.
