Ohio State football will have a much wider audience for its spring game

Set those DVR’s

Many of us are extremely excited to see the Ohio State Buckeyes back on a football field.

For those who don’t have the Big Ten Network, there was some very good news on Monday morning. Fox will now carry the Buckeyes’ Scarlet and Gray game, so a national audience will get to a preview of what the 2024 Ohio State football team will look like.

Fox analyst Joel Klatt broke the news, as they will also carry the Buckeyes rival on the main station, but Michigan’s game will be shown a week after Ohio State hits the field. Both teams had intriguing off-seasons, and for many it will be must-watch spring contests.

Ohio State’s spring game will be held on April 13th at 12:00 p.m. ET.

Thoughts following Ohio State’s Scarlet and Gray spring game

Plenty of takeaways from Ohio State’s spring game. What stood out to you the most? #GoBucks

The annual Scarlet and Gray game went to [autotag]Ohio State[/autotag]’s defense, 40-31. The modified scoring system showed the defense has made strides while the offense still has plenty of work to do.

It was only a spring game, but head coach [autotag]Ryan Day[/autotag] must like the progress of some aspects of his football team. Others not nearly as much.

It is hard to make judgements on what we saw Saturday, even though there were times when it looked like real football, I’ll try to do that. Here are my thoughts following the conclusion of Ohio State’s spring practices ending with the LiFEsports Spring Game.

Ohio State Football cancels spring game due to Coronavirus, limits recruiting efforts

The NCAA is not allowing spectators at March Madness and now Ohio State Football has canceled their spring game due to the coronavirus.

The NCAA is not allowing spectators at March Madness and now Ohio State Football has canceled their spring game due to the coronavirus. It’s just the latest in a long line of measures being taken across the country to combat the spread of the virus.

The university has already issued a notice that face-to-face classes will be canceled until further notice as well.

This virus, that started in Wuhan, China and starts with flu-like symptoms, has put the entire world on notice, canceling and altering major sporting events and work-life events around the country.

Since 2016, the Buckeyes spring game has averaged over six figures in attendance. It’s a beloved time for fans to get a relatively cheap and early look at the programs’ returning talent.

The game was slated for April 11 at Noon.

What impact this will have down the road is uncertain, but we’ll continue to monitor the situation. Find out all of President Trump’s new restrictions here.

Ryan Day has also announced that his recruiting visits will be suspended through April 20.
