4-star 2023 tight end has Ohio State in final eight schools

4-star 2023 Oklahoma tight end Luke Hasz included Ohio State in his final eight schools as his recruitment begins to dwindle down.

We are still waiting for that first commitment to the 2023 Ohio State football recruiting class, but you can bet that the seal will be broken sooner rather than later. To date, only 15 teams have nabbed a prospect for the 2023 recruiting cycle, with Ohio State in on some key members that will be looking to make a decision soon.

One of those is 4-star tight end Luke Hasz out of Bixby, Oklahoma. According to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, Hasz is rated as the No. tight end and 40th overall prospect in the entire class as of right now. In addition to Ohio State, Hasz has Texas, TCU, Arkansas, Oklahoma, LSU, Alabama, and Oklahoma State in his final eight.

Being from Oklahoma, most believe that he is a pretty good lead to the Sooners right now, but we’ve seen that things can change drastically as things progress throughout a kid’s recruitment. If Ohio State can get him on campus, the program is about as good as anyone in putting on a good show.

We’ll see how this all plays out as things progress with Hasz’s recruitment.

4-star cornerback from Georgia has Ohio State in top ten

Might this kid be a candidate to break the seal on the 2023 recruiting cycle for Ohio State?

Ohio State is continuously working the recruiting trail hard for the 2022 class that’s currently ranked No. 1 in the 247Sports Team Composite Rankings, but it’s also looking forward to 2023 as the two recruiting cycles begin to overlap. There’s not a commitment for 2023 just yet, but the Buckeyes appeared in the top ten of 4-star cornerback Kayin Lee Friday.

Out of Ellenwood, Georgia, Lee has offers from many big-time programs already. According to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, Lee is ranked as the No. 9 cornerback and 87th overall prospect in the 2023 class. Besides, OSU, the other schools in his top ten that he dropped on Twitter Friday include Georgia, Miami, Ole Miss, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, Pitt, UCF, Arkansas, and Indiana.

There hasn’t been too much information on which schools Lee might be leaning towards, and it’s probably a little early to get too excited about reading any kind of signs, but we’ll stay on top of the recruitment as more information becomes available.

It’s Official! J.T. Tuimoloau is officially enrolled at Ohio State

It’s Official! J.T. Tuimoloau Is Officially Enrolled! #Buckeyes

One of the highest-rated recruits in Ohio State football history, J.T. Tuimoloau, committed to becoming a Buckeye close to two weeks ago, but today he was officially listed on the team’s roster.

It is extremely rare for a freshman to commit this late in the game, but there is a ton of hype surrounding Tuimoloau and many people expect him to play a role early and often for the Buckeyes.

It is hard to describe the kind of impact Tuimoloau has already had on the program, but it is worth noting that his commitment means that the 2021 Ohio State class is the first in history to sign five top ten players from the same recruiting cycle.

We can’t wait to see Tuimoloa and the rest of the class make its mark on the Ohio State program in a stadium near you soon.

Top ten rated Ohio State wide receiver recruits since 2000

The Ohio State #Buckeyes have been killing it at recruiting and we wanted to take a look back on the top ten wide receiver recruits since 2000.

We have been having a great time diving into Ohio State’s history in recruiting, and after diving into the quarterbacks and the running backs we go into the deep water of the last 20 years of recruiting at the wide receiver position.

This list is a bit insane because so many of the names that come up are currently enrolled or are an extremely recent. A few notable names that just made the cut are Parris Campbell, Terry McLaurin and Devin Smith, but the names that we will provide were stars, too.

Here are your top 20 rated Ohio State receiver commitments over the last 20 years or so.

5-star 2022 quarterback prospect includes Ohio State in top seven

Ohio State appears to be a long shot here, but never say never. The Buckeyes are in the top seven, so there’s at least a chance.

Ohio State has several 4 and 5-star quarterbacks either already on the roster or coming to town looking to be the next great one at Ohio State. But it is also in the running for another 5-star quarterback for the 2023 class, Los Alamitos, California native Malachi Nelson.

He announced his top seven on Sunday and included OSU along with Notre Dame, Oklahoma, LSU, Alabama, Florida State, and USC. He teased it with a July 18 date which means we’ll all be on the lookout to see what happens next.

If Ohio State can land him, it would be another huge get and continue an amazing run at the quarterback spot. According to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, Nelson is ranked as the No. 2 quarterback and fifth prospect in the entire 2023 class.

The Oklahoma Sooners appear to have a leg up in the efforts to land Nelson, but we’ll see if that comes to fruition.

Top Ten rated Ohio State running back recruits since 2000

The Ohio State football program has crushed the recruiting trail when it comes to running backs in the last two decades!

The Ohio State Buckeyes football program has had no problem snagging top recruits at the running back position and they have taken that talent and continued to develop them to create absolute studs. As we said previously in our quarterback article, 247Sports only goes back 20 years but we’re looking at the top-rated commits to go to Ohio State during that time. That means no Carlos Snow or Vince Workman and others of course, but still, some insanely talented names are on the list with a few transfers sprinkled in.

A few running backs that just missed the top ten were gems like Ezekiel Elliott, Carlos Hyde, and Daniel “Boom” Herron, but I can assure you that some of the names on this list will take you down memory lane.

Ohio State makes short list for top 50 player in 2022 class

Ohio State is right in it when it comes to landing another big-time defensive back for the 2022 class.

The No. 4 rated safety in the 2022 class has trimmed his list to a top-five and Ohio State has made the cut. Zion Branch is a highly coveted defender who would fit well in the current Buckeye recruiting class.

Branch is from Bishop Gorman high school in Las Vegas, which is the same school that brought OSU Tate Martell and Haskell Garrett. The Nevada product has good size with a frame to add more and is an all-around excellent defender.

Ohio State is joined by four other blue bloods in Branch’s final five including Alabama, Clemson, Oklahoma, and USC. As of now, 247Sports have most of the crystal ball predictions going to the Buckeyes.

Ryan Day and company would love to land two more at the position of safety. The Bucks are still hot on the trail of the No. 5 ranked safety in the country, Xavier Nwankpa, who also happens to have most crystal ball predictions to Ohio State.

Adding one of these guys would be a home run. Adding both would be a grand slam in a class that is already No. 1 in the country.

Ohio State included in 4-star 2022 defensive tackle’s trimmed list

We’ll continue to track this recruitment. So far, so good.

Ohio State is now up to 17 players verbally committed to the class of 2022, but there’s still room for a few more. To that end, OSU is still hitting the recruiting trail hard to hit on its priority targets.

One of those appears to be 4-star 2022 defensive tackle, and top 100 prospect Hero Kanu out of Rancho Santa Margarita, California. He has offers from a slew of the big boys and just paired his list down to a personal top ten and has Ohio State as one of them.

According to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, Kanu is ranked as the No. 13 defensive linemen and 82nd overall prospect in the 2022 recruiting cycle. His other finalists are Alabama, Clemson, Washington, Georgia, Oklahoma, LSU, Texas, and USC.

There does not appear to be a clear leader at this point, and nobody has gone out on a limb to move a Crystal Ball in a team’s favor, so we’ll just have to keep an eye on how things progress.

For now, file this in the piqued interest category.

Top ten Ohio State rated quarterback recruits since 2000

Ohio State brought in some heavy-hitting quarterback recruits the past twenty years! Here are the best based on recruiting rankings.

We have been diving into the history of Ohio State football recruiting and despite 247Sports only tracking recruiting rankings since about the year 2000, it will still be interesting to take a dive into the most coveted quarterback high school recruits of the last two decades.

Unfortunately, I won’t be able to discuss Art Schlichter and how Woody Hayes changed the offense to get him to Ohio State, or Joe Pickens who went on to ride the bench and transfer to Duke, but there are still some interesting names to check in on.

Also, for this list, we’re not yet counting anything past the 2021 class since 2022 and beyond has yet to sign a national letter of intent. So yeah, Quinn Ewers would be on top of this list if that were so as a perfect 1.000 prospect.

So let’s hammer through the top ten quarterback signings at Ohio State since the recruiting types were measuring all the shenanigans.
