Top 2022 defensive end Enai White puts Ohio State in top four

Ohio State is in the top four of one of the highest-rated defensive ends in the 2022 recruiting cycle.

Ohio State has made another cut for one of the top-rated defensive ends in the country. The Buckeyes have made it to the final four in the race for Enai White, the No. 3 rated edge rusher in the 2022 class according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

White trimmed his list leaving out Clemson, Florida, Miami (FL), and Oregon. Along with Ohio State, the other remaining schools in the running are AlabamaGeorgia, and Texas A&M.

White was recently in Columbus on June 25-27 for an official campus visit. Ohio State might be in the best position to land the four-star defensive end if in fact, he wants to stay on the defensive line. The Buckeyes are the only school that wants to keep White at defensive end. The other three schools run a scheme that would move him to a linebacking position.

Ryan Day and Ohio State are looking for their first commitment on the defensive line in the 2022 class. Adding Enai White would be a great first addition to an already impressive class.

Four-star 2023 tight end has Ohio State in top four

Ohio State appeared in the top four of 4-star 2023 tight end Ty Lockwood on Saturday. Could he be OSU’s first commitment for that cycle?

As the recruiting world turns, so do the writings of our lives.

We continue to get news circulating on the recruiting front for Ohio State. The 2021 class is now complete with the addition of 5-star J.T. Tuimoloau — albeit in late fashion — and the 2022 class is looking otherworldly. But we’re still awaiting that first 2023 prospect to flash a little scarlet and gray.

That could come soon, and it’s possible that it comes in the form of 4-star tight end Ty Lockwood. He released his top four programs on Saturday with the help of recruiting analyst Chad Simmons, and the Buckeyes are in the mix.

At 6-foot, 5-inches, and 225-pounds, Lockwood is out of Independence High School in Thompson’s Station, Tennesee. He is ranked as the No. 98 prospect in the class and fifth tight end overall according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

There’s no clear timetable or leader that seems to be out there, but the word is that he could be making a decision soon. The other three schools in his top four are Florida State, Penn State, and South Carolina. We’ll keep abreast of anything further that develops.

Ohio State basketball 2022 recruiting class

Get up to speed with Ohio State basketball’s stellar 2022 recruiting class. Will these guys help put OSU among the elite in the country?

Chris Holtmann and the Ohio State basketball program have been working diligently to put together its next recruiting class for the 2022 cycle.

And in case you haven’t noticed, it’s a pretty good one. So good in fact, that the Buckeyes’ 2022 class ranks as the best in the country right now. It has four commitments that have already pledged verbally, with three of them in the top 50 prospects according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

It remains to be seen if OSU will finish atop the rankings because traditional blue-bloods like North Carolina, Duke, Kansas, and North Carolina are still putting classes together, but no matter how you look at it, it looks to be a top-five or top ten class when it’s all said and done. That is, as long as the class remains and there aren’t any defections from here until the official signing day.

So in case you haven’t gotten up to speed on the four players Ohio State is bringing in to keep the momentum going with the Buckeye basketball program, we’ve got them all here for you. We’ll continue to update the list if any changes happen.

Four-star 2022 defensive lineman includes Ohio State in top four schools

Ohio State still in the running here.

As things progress towards fall preseason camp for Ohio State football, we continue to keep one eye there and one on the recruiting efforts. We had a tight end decommit from the 2022 class lately, but Ryan Day and the coaching staff haven’t stopped the efforts to round out what is turning out to be one of the best classes the Buckeyes have ever put together.

One of those targets is 4-star defensive lineman Christen Miller out of Cedar Grove High School in Ellenwood, Georgia. He just released his top four on his Twitter account and it included the Buckeyes along with Georgia, Oregon, and USC.

Miller is the No. 19 ranked defensive lineman and 119th overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. USC and Georgia are thought to be the two battling it out for his services, but it’s clear there is as least a shot for OSU to get in on the mix if it can continue to be on the radar as one of his top schools. After all, last we checked, Larry Johnson is still coaching at Ohio State.

Four-star 2022 center commits to Ohio State basketball program

Chris Holtmann is starting to crank it up in recruiting. Boom!

Ohio State basketball head coach Chris Holtmann and staff landed another big-time prospect.

Four-star 2022 center Felix Okpara, out of Hamiton Heights Christian Academy in Chattanooga, Tennessee, announced his commitment to OSU on Monday morning. According to the 247Sports composite, Okpara is ranked the 9th-best center and 47th overall prospect in the 2022 recruiting cycle.

At 6-feet, 11-inches, Okpara is a rim protector with a knack for high-pointing the ball and blocking shots. He’s still a project on offense. He averaged 11.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 2.6 shots per contest last year during his junior season in high school.

The commitment is the fourth to the 2022 class for Ohio State, one that moved to be the best in the country. In addition to Okpara, OSU has reeled in four-stars prospects Bruce Thorton and Roddy Gayle, Jr., as well as three-star recruit Bowen Hardman. All but Hardman are top 50 recruits.

With what Ohio State is bringing into the program, and what’s still there, the Buckeyes should be contending for some pretty special things in the near future as long as roster management doesn’t become a problem.

Top ten rated Ohio State Guard recruits since 2000

The Ohio State football program has been a historical recruiting machine. Here are the top ten rated prospects are guard since the year 2000.

We have been diving into some of the more highly touted recruits in Ohio State history. We recently discussed the quarterbacks, running backswide receivers, tight ends and offensive tackles but we wanted to look into their history in recruiting guards.

There are some very interesting names on this top ten recruiting list and even though 247 Sports only goes back to the year 2000, there are some memorable names. A few interesting names that just missed the list include Rob Sims, Pat Elflein and Nick Mangold.

Ohio State 2023 5-star quarterback target chooses Oklahoma

It wasn’t really much of a surprise, but a 2023 5-star QB chose Oklahoma over Ohio State and others on Wednesday.

The 2023 class seems so far away and in college football terms it is, but that doesn’t stop teams from trying to build their rosters of the future. Ryan Day and the Ohio State football team were in pursuit of Malachi Nelson, a 5-star quarterback out of Los Alamitos, California, and he recently announced his intentions to play at Oklahoma.

Nelson chose Oklahoma over Alabama, LSU, and Ohio State. The 5-star prospect had an insane junior season that included passing for 1,513 yards. The general consensus is that the Sooners were able to put the nail in the recruiting coffin during Nelson’s campus visit in June.

The now Oklahoma commit is the third-ranked quarterback in that class behind another familiar name in Arch Manning.

For Ohio State, it always stings to miss out on a prospect, but this wasn’t much of a surprise. And with all of the talent and depth at the position, it’s hardly anything to lose sleep over.

Ohio State target Shawn Murphy sets date to announce college decision

Ohio State is hoping to land another stud linebacker for the 2022 class. Stay tuned…

Ohio State will soon know if it will land another coveted prospect in the 2022 class. Shawn Murphy has set August 1 to reveal his college destination via his personal Twitter account.

Murphy is a top 10 linebacker according to 247Sports Composite Rankings and would be a nice addition to an outstanding position group that includes C.J. Hicks, aka Captain Buckeye, and Gabe Powers. Hicks and Powers land at No. 2 and 3 on that same list.

Murphy, who hails from Manassas, Virginia, narrowed his list earlier this month to include the Buckeyes along with Alabama, Florida, LSU, and Penn State. There hasn’t been much coming from his camp to give any indication where he’ll land, but Murphy does have one crystal ball prediction to the Tide. However, the prediction is only a five out of ten in confidence.

Ohio State was among the first to extend an offer to Murphy all the way back in 2019, so he’s had some time to build a relationship with the staff. You can bet Hicks has also been working hard to garner that relationship as he has done with several other recruits in helping them make their final decision.

Buckeye nation will be hoping to hear another big BOOM! on August 1.

Top ten rated Ohio State tight end recruits since 2000

The #Buckeyes don’t have the strongest history of utilizing their tight ends and here is proof.

We have had a blast walking down memory lane and diving into some of the more decorated and highly recruited prospects in Ohio State football history. We recently discussed the quarterbacks, running backs, and wide receivers, but we wanted to look into the tight ends this time.

As we discussed previously, 247Sports only allows us to go back to the year 2000, but that is still two decades worth of prospects to revisit. We will provide the list of the top ten highest-ranked tight ends of the past 20 years, but some interesting names that just missed the cut include, Reid Fragel and Jeff Heuerman.

Every 5-star Ohio State football commitment from the Urban Meyer and Ryan Day era

Ohio State has had a slew of 5-star commitments since Urban Meyer and Ryan Day have been recruiting. Do you remember all of these guys?

If programs like Ohio State are made on 3 and 4-star commitments, you could argue they become elite with the right 5-star prospects agreeing to play for the program.

In the case of the Buckeyes, they have signed a bushel of 5-star prospects, with it ramping up even more under Urban Meyer and through to Ryan Day now. In fact, there aren’t too many teams out there that have recruited — and landed — so many 5-star recruits since Meyer arrived on campus in 2012.

There are some we’re sure that you remember and are either still writing their OSU careers or doing big things in the NFL. Others may not have quite panned out to their lofty expectations coming out of high school.

We thought we would jog your memory just a wee bit by going through all of the 5-star prospects that eventually committed to Ohio State using the 247Sports Composite Rankings from 2013 on through to what’s also already verbally given their word for the 2022 class.
