Ohio State Women’s basketball add transfer from Syracuse

Ohio State Women add Eboni Walker to an experienced roster poised to make another run this year.

The Ohio State women’s basketball program added another piece to next season’s roster earlier this week. Eboni Walker has committed to the Buckeyes and hopes to help build on the success from last year.

This will be the third stop for Walker who started her collegiate career as a Sundevil at Arizona State in 2019. She then transferred to Syracuse last season but only appeared in six games before an injury ended her year.

The Orange head coach, Quentin Hillsman resigned in early August of 2021 due to allegations of improper behavior and bullying by players. With the team in transition, Walker decided to move in a different direction once more.

Walker has career averages of 6.6 points per game and almost 5 rebounds per game. The Buckeyes return a solid core of players who made a trip to the Sweet 16 falling to No. 2 seed Texas by only three points. Ohio State should have the horses to compete for a Big Ten championship and make another deep run in the NCAA tournament.

BOOM! Four-Star offensive lineman, Luke Montgomery, commits to Ohio State

Ohio State lands the No. 1 rated player in the Buckeye State! #GoBucks

The Ohio State football team got some outstanding news today when the highest-rated player in the Buckeye State chose the Buckeyes. Luke Montgomery decided to stay home as he committed to OSU live on CBS Sports HQ to the cheers of classmates and family.

Montgomery is a four-star recruit out of Findlay, Ohio. He is the No. 4 rated offensive tackle in the country and a top 50 overall recruit according to 247Sports composite rankings. Montgomery’s commitment moves Ohio State to No. 7 in the 2023 recruiting rankings with plenty of room to continue rising.

The Findlay Trojan picked the Buckeyes over the likes of Alabama, Clemson, Michigan, and Notre Dame.

Ohio State was long favored to land Mongomery, but rumors started to swirl when Greg Studrawa was let go. New offensive line coach, Justin Frye made Montgomery a priority and it paid off. The newly committed tackle makes five commits for the Bucks in the 2023 class.

Watch Ohio State football commit Sonny Styles with a massive dunk at the buzzer to quiet heckler

Sonny Styles listened to an adult fan heckle him at his high school basketball game and sent him home with a massive dunk.

Most people love to relish young people who are working hard to make their dreams come true. Especially in a place like Columbus, Ohio, where college football is king. And if a prized recruit decides to stay home and play for the Buckeyes, even all the more.

Unfortunately, that isn’t always the case with some adults. Sonny Styles, who is the No. 1 ranked safety in the 2022 recruiting class will be heading to Ohio State in the fall. Until then, he’s enjoying his high school career doing the things he’ll never get to do again, one of which is playing on his high school basketball team.

Styles put on a show at Newark High School in Newark, Ohio, last night as he led his Pickerington Central team into hostile territory for a conference clash. In high school sports, the only environment hostility should come between the lines and maybe a well-rehearsed student section. But like all too many high school gymnasiums on any given night, some adults just can’t seem to contain themselves.

The 6-foot, 4-inch senior took some comments to heart and left no doubt who the best athlete and team was on the opponent’s floor, sending in a massive dunk as time was expiring. After the celebration, Styles can be seen looking and pointing into the stands saying “All that yapping, all that yapping. You a grown man…”

Note to adults in the stands at high school sporting events. Please just watch the game, support the kids, and leave the school spirit to the students. Sonny Styles may look like a man even as a high school student, but he shouldn’t have to put up with adults trying to go back in time 20-30 years. It really is a pathetic look.

Of course, the incoming freshman will most likely face the same kind of adversity in rival Big Ten football stadiums. It’s nice to see that he can take that negativity and use it as fuel to the fire in the heat of battle.

A piece of advice for opposing fans… don’t make Sonny Style mad in the course of the next three to four years. It won’t end well for your team.

BOOM! Four-Star offensive lineman, Carson Hinzman commits to Ohio State

Ohio State steals four-star offensive lineman from the state of Wisconsin! #GoBucks

The Ohio State football team just stole a good one from the state of Wisconsin. The Badgers and the Buckeyes were seen as the top two players in the Carson Hinzman sweepstakes, but most thought that it would be a huge upset for Ryan Day to sway Hinzman to Columbus. The 6-foot, 4-inch, interior lineman is the No. 6 rated offensive lineman in the 2022 recruiting class according to 247Sports composite rankings. The Hammond, Wisconsin native is the No. 2 ranked lineman in the Dairy State.

This is a pretty big haul considering Ohio State didn’t have an interior offensive lineman in this current class. It’s an even bigger deal when considering the fact that the Buckeyes basically started two tackles at the guard positions in the 2021 season. It will also be the first time in 50 years that a football player hailing from Wisconsin will dawn the scarlet and gray.

Hinzman’s commitment gives Ohio State 21 commits in the 2022 class, which includes transfer DeaMonte Trayanum from Arizona State. Ā The Buckeye’s class currently sits at No. 4 according to 247Sports and is continuing to rise.

BOOM! Four-Star, Omari Abor commits to Ohio State

Ohio State adds another good one to the defensive line for 2022! #GoBucks

Four-star recruit, Omari Abor, The No. 4 edge rusher in the 2022 class according to 247 Sports composite ratings, has picked Ohio State as his destination of choice.Ā The Texas native choose the Buckeyes overĀ Alabama,Ā LSU,Ā Texas,Ā and Texas A&M.

Abor is a nice grab for OSU and Ryan Day. Currently, Ohio State has only two signees on the defensive line and only one other defensive end in Kenyatta Jackson. The highly sought-after edge rusher stated that the way defensive line coach, Larry Johnson, develops players was a big factor in choosing the Buckeyes.

Recruiting analyst, Gabe Brooks of 247Sports compares Abor to NFL defensive end Bradley Chubb and projects him as a future second-round NFL draft pick. Abor possesses good get-off burst, but has room to grow. With Coach Johnson leading the way, he most certainly will.

Abor’s commitment gives Ohio State 20 recruits in the 2022 class, which includes transfer DeaMonte Trayanum from Arizona State. Ā The Buckeye’s class currently sits at No. 4 according to 247Sports.

Four-Star edge rusher Omari Abor set to announce commitment Sunday

The No. 4 edge rusher in the nation will announce his commitment at the All-American game on Sunday.

Four-star recruit, Omari Abor, The No. 4 edge rusher in the 2022 class according to 247 Sports composite ratings, is set to announce his college decision on Sunday at the All-American Bowl. As of now, Ohio State has a solid crystal ball prediction to land Abor’s services.Ā The Texas native will be choosing between the Buckeyes,Ā Alabama,Ā LSU,Ā Texas,Ā and Texas A&M.

Abor did say that he will continue to visit schools after he commits on Sunday. So even if OSU gets the nod, the Buckeye coaching staff will need to continue wooing the defensive end until pen meets paper.

Abor took an official visit to Ohio State in June and seemed to really enjoy his time on campus saying he liked the feel, talking with the coaches, and how they talked about more than just football, but about life too.

Abor would be the second defensive end to join the 2022 Ohio State recruiting class, joining Kenyatta Jackson who is ranked as the No. 7 edge rusher in the nation. Ā  The Buckeye’s class currently sits at No. 4 according to 247Sports.

Ohio State 2023 commit, Sonny Styles has reclassified and will sign with 2022 class

Five-star prospect Sonny Styles will be joining the Ohio State football team sooner than expected.

Recently, five-star safety and central Ohio native Sonny Styles decided to stay home and commit to Ohio State in the 2023 recruiting class. Looks like 2023 wasn’t soon enough as we just found out that Styles is reclassifying and will join the Buckeyes a year early in 2022.

Styles is the son of former OSU great Lorenzo Styles Sr. who played for the Buckeyes in the early 90s. He is currently listed as the No. 6 overall player in the county according to 247Sports composite rankings, but that’s for the 2023 class. He should move up to the No. 3 overall player according to the current 2022 rankings.

Older brother, Lorenzo Styles Jr. is a wide receiver at Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish will head to Columbus for the opener next season which will have no shortage of storylines leading up to the game. Welcome back to the ‘Shoe Marcus Freeman!

It remains to be seen how this will move recruiting rankings for the 2022 class. At present, Ohio State sits with the No. 4 recruiting class behind Texas A&M, Georgia, and Alabama.

2022 four-star safety, Xavier Nwankpa, trims list to final three, includes Ohio State

Ohio State makes the cut for one of the top safety in the 2022 class, Xavier Nwankpa.

The No. 3 ranked safety in the 2022 recruiting class has trimmed his list to a final three and Ohio State has made the cut. After finding out they are in the top five for Sonny Styles, the No. 1 safety in the 2023 class, Buckeye fans heard the good news about four-star safety Xavier Nwankpa, via his personal Twitter account.

Nwankpa’s recruitment has been going on for quite some time, but it looks like he is close to making an announcement. Along with Ohio State, the Iowa native has included on his list the in-state Hawkeyes and Notre Dame.

At this time, Nwankpa has two crystal ball predictions to OSU, but neither are very high confidence. This recruitment could go any direction and we wouldn’t be surprised either way.

Nwankpa is projected as a first-round talent and would be a nice boost to the 2022 Buckeye recruiting class.

Top 2023 target, Sonny Styles, puts Ohio State in top 5

Ohio State has made the top five for the No. 1 safety in the 2023 class.

Well, we’re barely into the 2021 season and Ohio State is still securing commitments from the class of 2022, but that doesn’t mean the Buckeye coaching staff isn’t looking deeper into the future. Local product, Sonny Styles, has been on the Ohio State radar for quite some time now and he recently let the Bucks know they’re on his radar as well.

Styles hails from Pickerington Central high school where he is currently a top 10 prospect and the No. 1 rated safety in the class. Even at this young age, recruiting experts project Styles to be a first-round NFL talent and compares to Isaiah Simmons of the Arizona Cardinals.

The five-star prospect trimmed his list to five which in addition to Ohio State includes, Clemson, Florida, Notre Dame, and Ole Miss. At this point, the Fighting Irish have the only crystal ball prediction to land Styles, but there is a long way to go in his recruitment.

Styles is the son of former Buckeye, Lorenzo Styles, where he played linebacker at Ohio State in the mid-90s and went on to play six seasons in the NFL. Maybe son will follow in dear ol’ dad’s footsteps and chose to wear scarlet and gray as well.

Five-Star edge rusher Omari Abor keeps Ohio State in trimmed list

Ohio State has made the top five for the No. 2 edge rusher in the nation.

Five-star recruit, Omari Abor, The No. 18 player in the 2022 class and No. 2 edge rusher according to 247 Sports composite ratings has narrowed his list to five schools. Ohio State made the cut in April when the list was ten and is still in the running now that only five schools remain in consideration.

The Texas native kept the Buckeyes on the list with Alabama,Ā LSU,Ā Texas,Ā and Texas A&M. Those missing the cut were Arizona State, Georgia, Missouri, Oklahoma, and USC. Ironically, 247 Sports crystal ball predictions have had the Sooners as the leader in the clubhouse, but it appears OU’s chances have taken a serious hit.

Abor took an official visit to Ohio State in June and seemed to really enjoy his time on campus saying he liked the feel, talking with the coaches, and how they talked about more than just football, but about life too. It’s a reoccurring theme we hear from recruits.

As of now, Ohio State is still looking for the first defensive lineman to sign with the Buckeyes in the 2022 class. Abor would obviously be a great addition to an already strong class that is currently ranked third in the nation.
