2024 Sony Open in Hawaii odds and picks to win at this week’s PGA Tour stop

Waialae could be the perfect fit for Matt Fitzpatrick.

After a fantastic 2024 opener at The Sentry, the PGA Tour heads to Honolulu for the Sony Open in Hawaii at Waialae Country Club. While it’s not a signature event, this year’s field boasts plenty of star power.

Defending champion Si Woo Kim is joined by Matt Fitzpatrick, Ludvig Aberg, Tyrrell Hatton, Sahith Theegala, Brian Harman and Justin Rose. After a final-round 7-under 66 in Maui, Kim tied for 25th at The Sentry.

Will Zalatoris is also in the field and will be making his first official Tour start since withdrawing prior to the 2023 Masters. He did tee it up at Tiger Woods’ Hero World Challenge in December, finishing last in the 20-man field.

The Sentry winner Chris Kirk will be a name to watch this week. In ’23, Kirk finished solo third, and in ’21 he grabbed a share of second. Overall, Kirk has five top-10 finishes — four of which are top-5s — at the Sony.

5 best Jaguars player prop bets for Week 18

With Trevor Lawrence and Zay Jones officially active, here are five prop bet picks for Sunday.

Player prop bets have been hard to come by for the Jacksonville Jaguars’ Week 18 game against the Tennessee Titans.

With Trevor Lawrence, Christian Kirk, and Zay Jones all listed as questionable, oddsmakers held off on setting totals. With Lawrence and Jones announced as active, and Kirk held out, the props finally rolled in.

Even Titans props were few and far between for much of he week with the status of rookie quarterback Will Levis in doubt. On Friday, Tennessee head coach Mike Vrabel announced Ryan Tannehill will get the start.

If you’re looking to get in on the action this week with some player prop bets, we’ve got you covered with a handful of wagers to make on the Jaguars. The following prop bets are available on BetMGM, with the listed odds last updated at the time of publication.

Way-too-early Heisman Trophy odds for 2024 season

Alabama QB Jalen Milroe at the top of FanDuel’s 2024 Heisman Trophy odds

As crazy as it sounds, there will be no clear Heisman Trophy favorite heading into the 2024 season. A large reason for that is a lot of the contenders in 2023 like Bo Nix, Michael Penix, Jordan Travis, Marvin Harrison Jr. and Jayden Daniels will all be playing on Sundays next year.

With J.J. McCarthy likely heading pro, Alabama quarterback, Jalen Milroe, who finished sixth in the 2023 standings was the highest-voted player returning to college in 2024. As of right now, FanDuel has Quinn Ewers, Carson Beck and Jalen Milroe all tied as the favorite to win the award at +750. All three quarterbacks will be playing in the SEC next season.

Coming off of a disappointing Rose Bowl performance, I think Milroe knows there is a lot of room for growth and will get back to the drawing board. It will also help to have a full off-season with Tommy Rees in Tuscaloosa. Backup quarterback Ty Simpson decided to stay in Tuscaloosa and battle it out for the starting job in 2024, so Milroe will have no room to be complacent.

NFL Week 18 best bets: One wager to make for every team (including the Bills)

NFL Week 18 best bets: One wager to make for every team (including the #Bills):

Sadly, the end of the regular season is upon us. We’ve reached Week 18, which means 18 teams will take the field for the final time on Saturday or Sunday. It also means this is our last opportunity to bet on a full slate of NFL games until September. Sigh.

Fortunately, we’re going to get some great matchups in the playoffs, but before we look ahead to the postseason we have one last week of best bets. Below, you’ll find one wager to make for every team this weekend, beginning with Steelers-Ravens on Saturday afternoon and concluding with the very last game of the season: Bills-Dolphins for the AFC East title.

There are a lot of backups playing and starters resting this week so keep that in mind, but this slate offers some enticing betting opportunities. Here’s to a strong finish to the 2023 regular season.

Forget Monday night – who wins it all next year?

We haven’t put a bow on the 2023-24 college football season yet, but we already have odds for who hoists the national championship trophy in January of 2025.

As a reminder, the playoff format changes next year from the current four-team playoff to a 12-team playoff with first-round games played on college campuses.

So who has the best odds of making it to the championship game and winning it all next year?

Notre Dame will enter with high expectations, and it is listed fairly high, but still a considerable way from the top. Below are the teams with the best odds to win it all according to Fan Duel.

Bills slightly favorite on road vs. Dolphins in NFL biggest Week 18 game

#Bills slightly favorite on road vs. #Dolphins in NFL biggest Week 18 game:

The Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins are slated to play in the NFL’s top time slot in Week 18.

The Bills (10-6) visit the Dolphins (11-5) in their season finale. The winner will be named the 2023 AFC East champion.

Because of what’s on the line, the league decided to place the clash on Sunday Night Football in Week 18. Buckle up.

Even with that pressure and all eyes on both teams, oddsmakers are still going with Buffalo over Miami.

According to sportsbooks including BetMGM, the Bills are three-point road favorites against the Dolphins in Week 18. The Bills are winners of four straight and the Dolphins were crushed by the Baltimore Ravens last weekend.

The first time these two divisional foes faced off in Week 4, Buffalo won 48-20. In addition, Miami was an underdog then by three points… but that game was played in Orchard Park.

That outing clearly saw the Bills cover easily. They hit the over on the points total too, despite it being set at a massive 53.5 that week.

Regarding the upcoming matchup, the points total is set at 49.5.

While that’s the way Week 4 went, the season overall has gone differently for these two teams. Against the spread, Miami is 10-6 in 2023. Buffalo’s ATS is only 6-9-1. Similarly, the Dolphins are 9-6 against point totals, meanwhile, the Bills are only 6-10.

Two teams that mirror each other in the standings but couldn’t be more different among oddsmakers.

At the time of posting, the moneyline sits at Bills (-165) and Dolphins (+140).

Sleeper picks for 2024 The Sentry, including Hideki Matsuyama at 50/1

Matsuyama tied for 21st in Maui last year.

Another year, another week at the Plantation Course. The PGA Tour is back in Maui to kick off 2024 at The Sentry, the year’s first signature event. Although the 59-man field is loaded with big names, there are a few sleepers to keep an eye on.

Defending champion Jon Rahm isn’t in the field to vie for back-to-back titles thanks to his recent move to LIV Golf. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, Viktor Hovland, Jordan Spieth, Rickie Fowler, Xander Schauffele and Max Homa are just some of the superstars teeing it up Thursday. Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas, however, aren’t in the field.

Let’s take a look at a few sleeper picks for The Sentry.

The Sentry: Odds, picks to win

The Sentry 2024 odds, course history and picks to win

The PGA Tour is back!

Welcome to 2024, folks. And to start the new year, the PGA Tour is in Hawaii for the season’s first signature event, The Sentry.

The Plantation Course at Kapalua in Maui will once again play host, while the defending champion is not in the 59-man field.

Jon Rahm came from behind to defeat Collin Morikawa last year, but cannot defend his title thanks to his move to LIV Golf.

Some of the stars actually in the field include world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, Viktor Hovland, Patrick Cantlay, Max Homa, Xander Schauffele, Morikawa and Jordan Spieth.

Two notable names not teeing it up at the Plantation Course, Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas.

Reminder, there is no cut this week.

Jaguars open as 3.5-point favorites vs. Titans

The Jaguars are a win away from defending their AFC South title.

When the Jacksonville Jaguars hosted the Tennessee Titans in Week 11, they cruised to a 34-14 win in front of their home fans. It was the third straight win for the Jaguars and they’ll need to extend that streak to four if they hope to secure the AFC South title.

Last season, there were similar stakes for the Jaguars heading into Week 18. After getting a 36-22 win against the Titans earlier in the year, Jacksonville needed the season sweep to claim the division crown. It wasn’t as easy the second time around, but the Jaguars erased a fourth quarter deficit to get a 20-16 win.

Oddsmakers are expecting a similarly close rematch in the Jaguars’ first game of 2024.

If you’re looking for betting odds on the Jaguars’ upcoming game against the Titans, we’ve got you covered. The following lines for the spread, money line and over/under are from BetMGM, giving you an idea of how the oddsmakers think the game will go.

  • Titans +150 (bet $100 to win $150)

Against the spread (ATS)

  • Titans +3.5 (-110)

Over/Under (O/U)

  • 40.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Saints open as betting favorites against the Falcons in Week 18

Saints open as home favorites against the Falcons in Week 18

The New Orleans Saints are coming off a strong win on the road over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and they’re looking to end the regular season with a win at home against their oldest rivals: the Atlanta Falcons. The opening lines at BetMGM Sportsbook favor the Saints by four points; take that with the 41.5-point over/under and you’re looking at an implied total in the neighborhood of New Orleans 23, Atlanta 19.

That would be a tight finish, but it lines up with what we’ve seen before. The last two games in New Orleans have been decided by margins of three and two points, respectively, with the Saints winning 21-18 last year and the Falcons taking a win 27-25 the year before.

If the Saints want to reach the playoffs, all their paths start the same: with a win over Atlanta next Sunday. Let’s see if they have it in them after getting embarrassed in a 24-15 loss on the road earlier this season.
