Notre Dame will have a hat on the table when in-state 2025 corner commits

Will the Irish get good news later this month?

If you didn’t know by now, Notre Dame football doesn’t have much room to add on prospects to its 2025 recruiting class.

There are already 20 commits, and barring any flips, the most likely max that the Irish will bring in would be five more players. One of those potential additions could be in-state cornerback [autotag]Mark Zackery IV[/autotag], who is ready to end the recruiting process and will commit on May 25th.

There are four schools vying for his pledge: Florida, Cincinnati, Michigan and the Irish. Each of the teams would love to add Zackery to their class, as the 5-foot, 11-inch and 165-pound prospect is ranked as the No. 134 overall player and 15th cornerback in his class according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

As long as nothing changes for Zackery from now until when he makes his commitment, it’s looking very good for Notre Dame as they hold the only two 247Sports Crystal Ball picks for the talented corner.

Notre Dame gets plenty of love in EA Sports NCAA College Football teaser photos

It’s happening!!!!!

The time is coming for everyone to be able to fire up their gaming consoles with NCAA Football back on the screen.

Anticipation has been building since the announcement that the game would make its return after an 11-year hiatus. Plenty of Notre Dame football fans will start dynasties, trying to win as many titles with the Irish as possible.

Adding to the excitement has been some of the teasers that have been released in the recent months, and the latest hit social media on Friday. A few screen shots of the cover were shown, along with a shot of Notre Dame standing in the tunnel preparing to enter the field at Notre Dame Stadium.

If you are like me, you’ll be preordering yourself a copy and playing as soon as the game is released.

Notre Dame one of three schools that Illinois 2025 receiver will commit to

The Irish could lure yet another elite Illinois prospect to South Bend

There is not much room for Notre Dame football to add to its 2025 recruiting class, but they will make some space for certain prospects.

One of those is Illinois wide receiver [autotag]Talyn Taylor[/autotag], who is one record saying that he will most likely commit to one of three schools: Ohio State, Georgia or the Irish. At 6-foot, 1-inch and 173-pounds, the pass catcher is one of the nations best, ranking as the No. 112 overall prospect and 13th receiver according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

An official visit to South Bend is set up for next month, Notre Dame sandwiched between his two other finalists.

Currently, Notre Dame has three commits at the position: Elijah Burress, Shaun Terry and Jerome Bettis Jr. Taylor would be the highest ranked of the group if he were to ultimately choose the Irish.

Florida wide receiver 2025 target doesn’t have Notre Dame in his top group

The Irish are on the outside looking in for the receiver at the moment

When Florida 2025 wide receiver [autotag]Jayvan Boggs[/autotag] decommitted from Ohio State, many expected Notre Dame to be one of his main recruiters going forward.

While that happened, what also transpired has been extremely interesting. Boggs, who stands 6-feet and weighs 188 pounds told the USA TODAY State of Florida Recruiting H.Q. podcast that four schools are at the top of his list: UCF, Texas, Missouri and Georgia.

The omission of the Irish is very interesting, considering Boggs made a spring visit and all seemed to go very well for both parties. He has set up official visits for each of the schools in the top group, but there is still time for Notre Dame to make up the ground.

For the Irish to really be considered a contender for the nation’s No. 191 overall prospect and 23rd wide receiver on the 247Sports composite, they need to set up an official visit.

There is still time, but if Boggs makes his decision following his current lined up officials, the Irish are most likely going to have to look elsewhere for another receiver.

An SEC program is trending to add former Notre Dame cornerback Micah Bell

This would be an interesting pairing

Unfortunately for cornerback [autotag]Micah Bell[/autotag], his time playing for Notre Dame football was short.

During his freshman season, he registered just one tackle, kept his year of eligibility by redshirting then opted to move on from the Irish following spring practice. After just a few weeks as a free agent, it looks like Bell may be coming to a decision on where his next football home is, Vanderbilt.

According to On3’s Steve Wiltfong, the Commodores are trending in his re-recruitment. As a recruit, Bell was ranked as the No. 258 overall player and 30th cornerback according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Vanderbilt’s head coach is a familiar face, as former Irish defensive coordinator [autotag]Clark Lea[/autotag] runs the program. Bell would be a great addition for the former Notre Dame coach.

Notre Dame football not found on one analysts top 30 post-spring rankings

It wasn’t a mistake…

When both major polls release their preseason top 25 teams, Notre Dame football will surely be one of those teams.

With that said, 247Sports Brandon Marcello doesn’t believe that will be the case. He released his top 30 rankings following spring practices, and the Irish were nowhere to be found.

You do have to give him some credit, as he had an explanation ready. Marcello believes there are “too many new pieces at crucial spots,” singling out the quarterbacks and wide receivers. It’s hard to disagree with his hesitation and not putting Notre Dame in his top 10, but omitting them all together is a bit off.

At worst, Notre Dame should be on this list, as they are better than the majority of teams ranked below No. 15. At the end of the day, Marcello’s rankings don’t matter and Freezing Cold Takes has surely bookmarked this post.

Notre Dame basketball will host Illinois State transfer guard Myles Foster

He’ll be on campus tomorrow

Notre Dame basketball has already landed one transfer portal guard, Matt Allocco, and now they are looking at adding a second.

According to a report by CBB Content, the Irish will host Illinois state guard [autotag]Myles Foster[/autotag] which will take place on Wednesday. The 6-foot, 7-inch and 235-pound graduate had a solid season, scoring 12.4 points-per-game while shooting 52.5% from the field and also added 8.1 rebounds.

Foster isn’t much of a three-point shooter, so he does most of his scoring closer to the basket and finished the season off with double-digit points in 13 of the last 14 games. He should be looked at more of a small forward who can play guard if needed.

It’s difficult to say what kind of timeline Foster has to make his decision, but with Notre Dame hosting him hopefully a choice is made is the near future.

Notre Dame football makes final four for 2025 Louisiana running back

The Irish are still in the hunt for the 4-stars commitment

As the 2025 cycles continues to move on, Notre Dame football has been extremely selective with who they will take due to already having 20 commits.

One of those players who the Irish would accept a commitment from is Louisiana running back [autotag]James Simon[/autotag]. The 5-foot, 11-inch and 200-pound ball carrier narrowed his final list to four schools: Alabama, LSU, Texas A&M and Notre Dame.

Simon is viewed as a 4-star prospect, as he is ranked by the 247Sports Composite Rankings as the No. 200 overall player and 15th ranked player at his position.

If just looking at the current 247Sports Crystal Ball picks, it looks like the Irish will need to make up a good amount of ground to get Simon’s commitment.

The Irish already have two backs committed in the class, Justin Thurman and Daniel Anderson, but having a pair and a spare is never a back option at the position.

Notre Dame football offers 2026 South Carolina 4-star safety J’Zavien Currence

The Irish offer one of the nations top 2026 safeties

Starting your week with a Notre Dame football offer is great, and that happened for 2026 South Carolina safety J’Zavien Currence.

The 6-foot, 4-inch and 210-pound defender was offered early Monday morning by the Irish coaching staff. Currence is viewed as one of the top prospects in his class, ranking as the No. 63 overall player and 6th ranked safety according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

It is going to be tough for any school to lure Currence away from playing for his state program South Carolina, but the Irish are going to make it a very tough decision for him as they heat up their pursuit.

With over 30 offers at the current moment, Currence has plenty of options, with Notre Dame now being one of them.

Despite losing in the ACC Championship, Duke lacrosse is No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament

Duke set to open NCAA Tournament play against Utah as the NCAA Tournament’s second seed.

Sunday felt familiar to the Duke Blue Devils. It centered around the fact that Duke could not figure out Notre Dame, cementing their conference rival as far and away the best team in the country.

The Fighting Irish cruised to a 16-6 win over Duke in the ACC Tournament championship game on Sunday, completing the double-dip of the regular season and tournament titles.

Unsurprisingly, they were announced as the top overall seed in the NCAA Tournament during that evening’s selection show.

Following that announcement, John Danowski’s Blue Devil team was penciled in as the No. 2 team in the tournament. This NCAA Tournament appearance is Duke’s 26th all-time. Blue Devils will host Utah Utes in the opening round at Koskinen Stadium on May 11 at 2:30 p.m.

The Blue Devils head into the NCAA Tournament with a 12-5 overall record and a runner-up finish at the ACC Championship. Duke is 43-22 all-time in NCAA Tournament play, has advanced to Championship Weekend 14 times, and has won three NCAA titles.

Most notably, Duke made the national championship last season before falling to Notre Dame 13-9 in the national title game.

If the Blue Devils advance, they will travel to Hempstead, NY, to take on the Maryland/Princeton matchup winner. Duke played and beat Princeton 17-8 earlier this season at Koskinen Stadium.
