4-star QB Noah Grubbs commits to Notre Dame football

The Lake Mary talent is heading to South Bend.

The Fighting Irish football program kicked off June 2024 on a positive note, with Noah Grubbs, a four-star recruit in the class of 2026, committing to the team.

It’s a big recruiting win for the Irish and head coach Marcus Freeman and quarterbacks coach Gino Guidugli, who landed the 6-foot-5 talent out of Lake Mary (Fla.) over Michigan, Florida, Miami (Fla.), and Ohio State.

“I went to all of my top schools throughout the spring, and Notre Dame was the place that was most special in my heart,” Grubbs said via On3. “I was thinking to myself that nothing new could pop up that’s going to make it so that I like another place more. I’ve already been to the schools I wanted to see. I wanted to make the decision now to recruit the class.”

Although Grubbs has two full seasons of high school football left in the tank, and a lot can shift and flip on the recruiting trail these days, he made it clear that his commitment to Notre Dame is solid.

“There’s nothing about other colleges. It’s me and Notre Dame,” he continued via On3. “I don’t plan on decommitting. That’s not in my head whatsoever.”

Notre Dame is currently on a recruiting roll, with the team ahead in the class of 2025 rankings over top programs like Ohio State, Oklahoma, LSU, and USC.
After the Grubbs decision, the class of ’26 will certainly trend toward the top of the football hierarchy as well.

Notre Dame football lands their 2026 quarterback

The recruiting quarterback success continues for the Irish

The continued focus on landing high-level quarterbacks since Marcus Freeman took over the Notre Dame football program continued on Saturday.

[autotag]Noah Grubbs[/autotag], a 2026 Florida prospect, committed to the Irish, giving them a second commit of the cycle joining wide receiver Dylan Faison. The 6-foot, 4-inch and 188-pound quarterback is a 4-star as the nations No. 118 overall prospect and 10th rated at his position according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Over the last three recruiting cycles, Notre Dame has brought in [autotag]Kenny Minchey[/autotag], [autotag]CJ Carr[/autotag], along with commitments [autotag]Deuce Knight[/autotag] and now Grubbs. All of them are ranked as 4-stars, which shows that the Irish are stacking quarterbacks.

Now with a big-time quarterback prospect, the hope is that Grubbs will lure other elite players to join him in South Bend.

Notre Dame trending on adding 2026 4-star Florida quarterback Noah Grubbs

The Irish could be adding another elite talent to their quarterback room

One of the biggest differences in Notre Dame football’s recent recruiting success has been its pursuit of quarterbacks.

Head coach [autotag]Marcus Freeman[/autotag] has put a major emphasis on stacking talent in that room, and has done a great job in doing so. The 2024 team might be the deepest the unit has been in a very long time, as starter Riley Leonard and his backup Steve Angeli are proven, while CJ Carr and Kenny Minchey bring tons of potential to the table.

As for the 2025 class, Deuce Knight is firmly committed and now the Irish seem to be leading the recruitment of 2025 Florida quarterback [autotag]Noah Grubbs[/autotag]. On3’s Steve Wiltfong made a prediction on Monday morning that the 6-foot, 4-inch and 190-pound signal caller would eventually commit to Notre Dame.

This would be a huge recruiting win for the Irish, as Grubbs also holds offers from other big time schools like Ohio State, Michigan, Colorado, Penn State and others.

Notre Dame football gets a crystal ball pick for 2026 quarterback

The Irish are looking good with one of the nations top 2026 quarterbacks

The influx of talent at quarterback for Notre Dame football has seen an uptick since Marcus Freeman took over the program.

They have come from all over, recruiting and the transfer portal, with the next one up being 2025 commit Deuce Knight. It looks like they have another top quarterbacks attention in the 2026 cycle, with Florida’s [autotag]Noah Grubbs[/autotag].

The 6-foot, 4-inch and 188-pound signal caller was crystal balled to eventually commit to Notre Dame by Tom Loy on Friday. Grubbs is one of the top prospects in the country, ranking as the No. 121 overall player and 10th quarterback of his class by the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Grubbs would be a huge recruiting win for the Irish, as they try and continue to stack talent at quarterback.

Top 2026 Florida quarterback has Notre Dame football in his top group

This would be a huge recruiting win for the Irish

With quarterback recruiting, it’s never too early to go after a top prospect and Notre Dame football is no different.

On Thursday, Florida 2026 quarterback [autotag]Noah Grubbs[/autotag] cut his list down to 10 schools, with the Irish making the cut. The 6-foot, 4-inch and 205-pound sign caller has an impressive offer list, as his top teams are among the best programs in the country.

At the current moment, Grubbs is not ranked, but that surely will change as soon as many of the recruiting services update the 2026 class. Regardless of ranking, the interest between the two parties is real and it is a realistic possibility that Notre Dame is in his recruitment until the end.

Currently, Notre Dame has just one commitment in the 2026 class, wide receiver Dylan Faison.

Ohio State football offers another 2026 quarterback

The Buckeyes have been active with offers out to quarterbacks over the last few days

The focus of a good portion of Ohio State football’s recruiting right now is at the quarterback position.

The Buckeyes are currently set with their 2025 class, as Tavien St. Clair, the in-state star is currently committed. So, the focus can be turned to the 2026 class, and this past weekend one of their top targets, Jared Curtis, made his commitment to Georgia.

Just two other quarterback aside from Curtis held a Buckeye offer, Brady Smigiel and Will Griffin, but that changed quickly over the past few days. Dia Bell and Jonas Williams just received good news, and on Monday, it was Florida’s [autotag]Noah Grubbs[/autotag] as the latest quarterback to get an offer.

At 6-foot, 4-inches and 205-pounds, Grubbs isn’t currently ranked by any major services, but his offer list is solid with multiple high-level Power-Five schools after him. What made the offer special was that he was on-campus when it happened.

The wave of quarterback offers signals a change of the recruiting board, and as we have seen before, typically Ohio State’s coaching staff gets this reshuffle correct.

Class of 2026 QB recruit calls Florida his ‘dream school’

Florida is joining the recruiting race for one of the top quarterbacks in the class of 2026 — four-star, in-state prospect Noah Grubbs.

Lake Mary High quarterback [autotag]Noah Grubbs[/autotag] was in Gainesville to visit the Florida Gators on Saturday, and the class of 2026 signal-caller left town with an offer in hand.

Although most schools are just starting to push with the class of 2025, elite quarterbacks operate on a different recruiting schedule. Grubbs is ranked No. 33 overall in the class of 2026 by Rivals, and 247Sports director of recruiting Steve Wiltfong described him as “one of the more sought-after passers in the country.”

Wiltfong spoke with Grubbs after the visit and learned that UF has been on his list for some time.

“That was my childhood dream school,” Grubbs told Wiltfong. “I grew up a Gator fan so this is a big deal for me! I feel like Coach Napier really trusts his process for recruiting quarterbacks and I know they took some time before they offered but now I feel like I’m their guy!”

Florida isn’t the only SEC team in this race, though. Arkansas, Auburn, Ole Miss and Texas A&M have offered. The Gators will also have to beat out Michigan, which is coming off a national championship.

Grubbs also sat down with On3’s Keith Niebuhr to expand on the visit.

“My visit was a 10 out of 10,” he said. “It was strictly a business trip for my family and I. I’ve been up to Gainesville multiple times at camps … This was all about me wanting to know where I stood with them in my recruitment process. Because this is the one school I really wanted and Coach (Ryan) O’Hara and (Coach Billy) Napier let me know that answer fairly quickly today when Coach Napier offered me once I stepped into his office.”

Grubbs confirmed that he plans to return to Florida in the spring. He’ll be in town for the Orange and Blue Game and for a few summer camps.

Gators hosting trio of 2026 QB prospects for first junior day of 2024

Among the visitors expected to be in attendance this weekend is a trio of Sunshine State quarterbacks in the 2026 recruiting cycle.

Florida football is hosting its first junior day event of the 2024 calendar year on Saturday, Jan. 13, in Gainesville as Billy Napier and Co. look ahead to the coming one of the upcoming recruiting classes.

Among the visitors expected to be in attendance this weekend is a trio of Sunshine State quarterbacks in the 2026 recruiting cycle. None have earned a rating according to 247Sports but all are coveted passers in their class.

Firstly, there is Tampa Bay Tech’s [autotag]Logan Rogers[/autotag], a 6-foot-2-inch, 190-pound junior who is the only one of the three to currently hold a scholarship offer from the Gators. He has visited campus numerous times, including a trip back in August before the regular season began.

“It was great,” Rogers told Swamp247. “The coaches were great. Loved it. It was like a great, competitive atmosphere. Great bonding with everyone and a great event. It’s great getting into the recruiting process early. Just being in the facility and getting to know the coaches better.”

Next is Cocoa High’s [autotag]Brady Hart[/autotag], a 6-foot-4-inch, 185-pound signal caller from the opposite coast. He is the son of former Florida pitcher Alex Hart, who played for the Orange and Blue from 1999-2002 and was a fifth-round pick by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 2002 MLB draft.

Finally, there is Lake Mary High’s [autotag]Noah Grubbs[/autotag], a 6-foot-4-inch, 205-pound prospect from right in between the other two who has stopped in Gainesville twice as a recruit. He put up a 10-2 record in 2023, tossing for 3,670 yards at a 58.7% clip plus 49 touchdowns versus 10 interceptions.

Napier’s staff also expects to get another in-state quarterback — Tampa Jesuit High’s Will Griffin in town for a junior day sometime this offseason. Griffin is a four-star recruit in the 2026 class and is ranked No. 62 overall and No. 5 at his position, according to the 247Sports composite.
