Deiveson Figueiredo will become the first in history to face the same man four straight times when he meets Brandon Moreno at UFC 283.
The UFC returns to Brazil for the first time since March 2020 on Saturday with UFC 283, which takes place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas with a main card that airs on pay-per-view following prelims on ABC and ESPN+.
A championship doubleheader will close out the promotion’s first numbered event of the year. In the main event, [autotag]Glover Teixeira[/autotag] (33-8 MMA, 16-6 UFC) and [autotag]Jamahal Hill[/autotag] (11-1 MMA, 5-1 UFC) will attempt to decide a new light heavyweight champion when they meet for vacant gold.
The co-headliner, meanwhile, will see flyweight champion [autotag]Deiveson Figueiredo[/autotag] (21-2-1 MMA, 10-2-1 UFC) and interim titleholder [autotag]Brandon Moreno[/autotag] (20-5-2 MMA, 8-2-2 UFC) meet once again in a historic contest. They will unify 125-pound gold in the fourth octagon meeting between them, which has never happened before in company history.

Tim Means won’t fight this weekend, but he’ll be back before the end of the month.
[autotag]Tim Means[/autotag]’ next fight has been pushed back one week after Danny Roberts fell out of their matchup at Saturday’s UFC on ESPN 25 due to COVID-19 protocols.
Means will now meet [autotag]Nicolas Dalby[/autotag], who needed a.new opponent for UFC Fight Night 190 on June 26 after his original foe Sergey Khandozhko withdrew due to injury.
UFC officials announced the changes and new fight between Means (31-12-1 MMA, 13-9 UFC) and Dalby (19-3-1 MMA, 3-2-1 UFC) on Tuesday.
UFC Fight Night 190 takes place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The entire card streams on ESPN+.
Means, 37, is coming off three wins in his past four fights, including notable victories over Mike Perry and Thiago Alves.
Dalby, 36, meanwhile, is unbeaten in his past seven, including three under the UFC banner since he returned to the promotion for a second stint in September 2019.

[autotag]Alex Perez[/autotag] (24-6 MMA, 6-2 UFC) needs an X-ray to clear his right hand, otherwise he’ll be suspended for 180 days after his submission loss to flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo (20-1 MMA, 9-1 UFC) in the main event this past Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
And [autotag]Jennifer Maia[/autotag] (18-7-1 MMA, 3-3 UFC) is looking at a potential six-month sit, as well, following her decision loss to women’s flyweight champ Valentina Shevchenko (20-3 MMA, 9-2 UFC) in the co-feature. Maia can return quicker if a nasal fracture is cleared by a doctor, but will be out a minimum of 45 days with 30 days of no contact.

Under the UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance program’s payout tiers, which appropriate the money generated by Reebok’s multi-year sponsorship with the UFC, fighters are paid based on their total number of UFC bouts, as well as Zuffa-era WEC fights (January 2007 and later) and Zuffa-era Strikeforce bouts (April 2011 and later). Fighters with 1-3 bouts receive $3,500 per appearance; 4-5 bouts get $4,000; 6-10 bouts get $5,000; 11-15 bouts earn $10,000; 16-20 bouts pocket $15,000; and 21 bouts and more get $20,000. Additionally, champions earn $40,000 while title challengers get $30,000.
In addition to experience-based pay, UFC fighters will receive in perpetuity royalty payments amounting to 20-30 percent of any UFC merchandise sold that bears their likeness, according to officials.
