Thanksgiving Day means an accelerated start to Week 12, so before you sit down for some turkey and good fixings, it’s time to look at some underdog picks for the week.

Week 11 wasn’t a good week for the underdog. Only 3 underdogs — the Tennessee TitansDetroit Lions and Las Vegas Raiders — won outright, although 6 underdogs covered the spread in their losses, including the Indianapolis Colts and Carolina Panthers.

Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s NFL odds and lines, and tab the best NFL Week 12 underdog bets to cash in on among SportbookWire’s NFL expert picks and predictions.

All 3 of our best underdog picks from Week 11 hit — the Bears and Chargers covered the spread and the Raiders won outright — bringing our season record to 16-17.

Buffalo Bills at DETROIT LIONS +9.5 (-106) – Thursday, 12:30 p.m. ET (CBS)

The Lions have won 3 straight games and, of their 6 losses this season, they have lost by double digits only twice. Detroit has scored at least 30 points in 5 of its games and has a 6th with 27 points. It has proven the offense can keep games close.

The Bills have 4 double-digit wins, but 2 came in the first 2 weeks.

Buffalo is 5-4-1 ATS and Detroit is 6-4 ATS.

The Texans have lost by more than 13 points only once this season and the Dolphins have only won by more than 13 points once.

The Texans are 1-8-1 but 4-5-1 ATS. Meanwhile, the Dolphins are 7-3 straight up and 5-5 ATS.

Los Angeles Chargers at ARIZONA CARDINALS (+145) – 4:05 (CBS)

The Cardinals are expected to get QB Kyler Murray and WR Marquise Brown back this week. The Arizona offense works best when it can run the ball, which it does much better when Murray plays. The Chargers are awful against the run, ranking 30th in rushing yards allowed per game (148.4) and last in yards per carry allowed (5.5).

The Cardinals are 4-0 when opponents rush for fewer than 100 yards and 0-6 when they rush for 100 or more. The Chargers have only passed 100 rushing yards as a team twice this season.

Best NFL underdog picks and predictions for Week 11

In Week 10 last week, NFL underdogs had a pretty good run. Seven outright underdogs on the moneyline in 14 games, with big upsets like the Washington Commanders upending the Philadelphia Eagles, the Minnesota Vikings knocking off the Buffalo Bills and Green Bay Packers defeating the Dallas Cowboys. Eight underdogs beat the spread in Week 10.

Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s NFL odds and lines, and tab the best NFL Week 11 underdog bets to cash in on among SportbookWire’s NFL expert picks and predictions.

As for my 3 best bets for the Week 10, only 1 hit — the Commanders covering the spread against the Eagles — leaving me at 13-17 on my underdog picks for the week.

CHICAGO BEARS +3.5 (-119) at Atlanta Falcons – 1 p.m. (FOX)

The Bears have lost 3 straight and 6 of their last 7 games, but they have come close, losing by 1 point to the Detroit Lions and 3 points to the Miami Dolphins. QB Justin Fields has thrown 7 TD passes in the last 3 games and rushed for 385 yards.

The Falcons have failed to cover the spread in 4 straight games. They have had fewer than 300 yards of offense in 4 of their last 6 games.

Kansas City Chiefs at LOS ANGELES CHARGERS +6 (-111) – 8:20 p.m (NBC)

Only 1 of the last 5 matchups between the 2 teams has resulted in the Chiefs winning by 6 or more points.

The Chiefs are only 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 games.

The Chargers have covered the spread in 2 straight games and in 4 of their last 6 games.

LAS VEGAS RAIDERS (+125) at Denver Broncos – 4:05 p.m. (FOX)

The Raiders won the 1st meeting between the 2 teams this season 32-23 in Las Vegas.

The problem for the Raiders this season has been defense. They can score but have been allowing too many points (25.3 per game). Denver’s offense is anemic, averaging 14.6 points per game, and has reached 20 points only twice all season and once in their last 4 games.

The Raiders have scored 20 or more in 7 of 9 games this season.

Last week was not a big week for underdogs in the NFL. Only 4 moneyline underdogs won the game outright out of 13 contests, but 7 underdogs covered the spread. The biggest underdogs and probably the least likely to have predicted were the New York Jets beating the Buffalo Bills and the Detroit Lions upending the Green Bay Packers.

Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s NFL odds and lines, and tab the best NFL Week 10 underdog bets to cash in on among SportbookWire’s NFL expert picks and predictions.

Two of my 3 top underdog picks hit last week, with the Jaguars knocking off the Raiders and the Titans covering the spread against the Chiefs. The running total of my underdog picks for the season is 12-15.

NFL underdog predictions: Week 10

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at Thursday at 7:47 a.m. ET. All games Sunday and ET unless noted.

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (+120) vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Munich, Germany — 9:30 a.m. (NFL Network)

The Seahawks have won 4 straight games and are playing well both on offense and defense. Taking out the interception returned for a touchdown by the Cardinals in Seattle’s 31-21 win in Week 9 and the safety scored by the Chargers in Week 7, the Seattle defense has allowed 14.3 points per game in their winning streak.

The Bucs are struggling offensively, averaging just 14 points per game in their last 5, and they allowed 20 or more points in 3 of their last 4.

Seattle has also scored an average of 28.5 points per game in their winning streak.

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS +9.5 (-110) at Kansas City Chiefs – 1 p.m. (CBS)

The Jaguars are 3-6 on the season and also 3-6 ATS but they have yet to lose a game by double digits. Their biggest loss was by 8 points in Week 4 on the road to the Philadelphia Eagles. They have given up 23 or fewer points in 5 of their 9 games this season.

The Chiefs are 3-5 ATS. They have 3 double-digit wins.

The Chiefs are allowing 24.8 points per game over their last 5 contests.

WASHINGTON COMMANDERS +10.5 (-108) at Philadelphia Eagles — Monday, 8:15 p.m. (ESPN)

The Eagles are undefeated this season and have won by at least 12 points in each of the last 2 weeks. They are 5-3 ATS on the season. They also had a 16-point over the Commanders already this season.

However, the Commanders have won 3 of their last 5 games outright and are 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 games.

They have lost 3 times by more than 10 points, but those came in Weeks 2-4.

Six moneyline underdogs won their games outright in Week 7. Anyone who bet the Carolina Panthers or Chicago Bears had very nice payouts with their upset wins. There were 7 underdogs who covered the spread in their games last week.

Who will be the upset winners of Week 8?

Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s NFL odds and lines, and tab the best NFL Week 8 underdog bets to cash in on among SportbookWire’s NFL expert picks and predictions.

My 3 top underdog picks went 2-1 last week, bringing my total underdog record to 10-11. Let’s see if we can at least even that record this week.

Arizona Cardinals (+160) at Minnesota Vikings – 1 p.m. (FOX)

The Vikings are 5-1 and coming off a bye, but their wins so far this season don’t scream really good team. They beat a struggling Packers squad handily in Week 1 and then they have 1-score wins over the Detroit Lions, New Orleans Saints, Chicago Bears and Miami Dolphins. Only the Dolphins have a winning record and they faced their 3rd-string quarterback.

The Cardinals have not won consecutive games all season and are coming off a win, but they got WR DeAndre Hopkins back in the lineup and should have RB James Conner and K Matt Prater ready to play this week.

Their defense has been solid all year and the offense should be even better than last week with a full week of practice for Hopkins.

Los Angeles Rams (-103) vs. San Francisco 49ers – 4:25 p.m. (FOX)

The 49ers have won 7 straight regular-season matchups against the Rams, including a 24-9 win in Week 4 this season. But the 49ers will be without FB Kyle Juszczyk this week. He is the force behind the effectiveness of the Niners’ running game. WR Deebo Samuel also has been ruled out.

The Niners have lost 2 straight games.

The Rams are coming off their bye week so they are rested and had an extra week of preparation.

New York Giants (+130) at Seattle Seahawks – 4:25 p.m. (FOX)

The Seahawks continue to be puzzling and the Giants continue to find ways to win, having won 4 straight games.

Seattle has scored 30 or more in 3 of their last 4 games, but will likely be without WR DK Metcalf, who has a knee injury.

The Seahawks are susceptible to the running game and the Giants, behind RB Saquon Barkley and the mobility of QB Daniel Jones, have rushed for 200 yards or more as a team 3 times this season and for more than 120 yards 5 times.

The Seahawks have allowed 27 or more points in 5 of their last 6 games and part of me just doesn’t trust what I have seen from Seattle this year.

New York Giants (+135) at Jacksonville Jaguars – 1 p.m. (FOX)

Why are the Giants underdogs at 5-1 against a 2-4 Jaguars team that has lost 3 straight?

Not only have the Jags have lost 3 straight games, they’ve allowed over 400 yards in 2 of their last 3 games and have turned the ball over 8 times in the last 3 weeks.

The Giants have forced multiple turnovers in 3 games this season.

The Giants are rolling and the Jags are struggling. This feels like easy money.

Dallas Cowboys +6.5 (-110) at Philadelphia Eagles – 8:20 p.m. (NBC)

The Eagles only beat the Cardinals by 3 last week and were a missed field goal away from overtime. Arizona’s defense held then to just 20 points and under 400 yards. Dallas’ defense has been better than Arizona’s. They are 3rd in points allowed and 7th in yards allowed.

QB Cooper Rush has not only been reliable and safe, having avoided getting intercepted so far this season, he has made plays.

Arizona showed that teams can run the ball on the Eagles, especially if the game is close.

I almost would take the Cowboys to win outright but I’m not that confident. The Cowboys should make this a game with their stout defensive line.

The Browns’ defense is 23rd in points allowed and, even if QB Bailey Zappe starts in place of Mac Jones, New England is averaging 26.3 points per game in their last 3 contests.

Kansas City Chiefs (+117) vs. Buffalo Bills – 4:25 p.m (CBS)

A rematch of the overtime playoff game last year that led to overtime rules changes for the postseason, both teams are 4-1 and playing well.

The Chiefs are No. 1 in scoring and have 3 games scoring 30 or more and 2 of 40 or more.

The Bills rank No. 2 in scoring and No. 1 in scoring defense.

The Chiefs have won 3 of the last 4 meetings and 6 of the last 8, even though the Bills beat them 38-20 in Kansas City last year in the regular season.

I give the Chiefs the edge here at home this time.

Best NFL underdog picks and predictions for Week 5

Analyzing NFL Week 5 betting odds and lines, with expert predictions and picks of the 3 best underdogs to cash in on.

In Week 4 of the NFL season, there were 7 underdogs on the moneyline to win outright and 9 underdogs who covered the spread.

Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s NFL odds and lines, and tab the best NFL Week 5 underdog bets to cash in on among SportbookWire’s NFL expert picks and predictions.

My 3 underdog picks from Week 4 went 2-1, with the Arizona Cardinals and Atlanta Falcons each winning their games outright, but the Jacksonville Jaguars were unable to cover the spread. Through 4 weeks, my picks are 5-7.

Let’s take a look at the picks for this week.

NFL underdog predictions: Week 5

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at Thursday at 3:31 p.m. ET. All games Sunday and ET unless noted.

Detroit Lions (+145) at New England Patriots – 1 p.m. (FOX)

The Lions put up 45 points last week and have the league’s No. 1 offense and did that without RB D’Andre Swift or WR Amon-Ra St. Brown. They might be without them again, but will face a Patriots squad with 2 injured QBs. While Mac Jones practiced, it is unlikely he would play after missing 1 game with a high ankle sprain. It’s likely that Bailey Zappe will get the start.

Detroit’s defense has been as bad as the offense has been good, but I like the Lions to win this game outright.

Atlanta Falcons +9.5 (-108) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers  – 1 p.m. (FOX)

The Falcons are 2-2 and have covered the spread in every game. Scoring points has not been a problem for the Falcons, as they have scored 23 or more every week.

The Bucs’ defense was shredded for 41 points by the Kansas City Chiefs last week.

The Bucs have blown the Falcons out the last 3 times they have played, but NFC South games can be fun. Expect a 1-score game.

New York Jets (+150) vs. Miami Dolphins – 1 p.m. (CBS)

The Jets have either gotten a close win or lost by 15 points.

Miami has a number of injuries. QB Tua Tagovailoa is still not practicing and they could be without LT Terron Armstead and WR Jaylen Waddle.

The Jets have scored 24 or more in their 2 wins.

Expect them to surprise the shorthanded favorites.

Best NFL underdog picks and predictions for Week 4

Analyzing NFL Week 4 betting odds and lines, with expert predictions and picks of the 3 best underdogs to cash in on.

NFL Week 3 brought some big upset wins. The Indianapolis Colts beat the Kansas City Chiefs. The Miami Dolphins knocked off the Buffalo Bills and the Dallas Cowboys, playing with a backup quarterback, beat the New York Giants.

Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s NFL odds and lines, and tab the best NFL Week 4 underdog bets to cash in on among SportbookWire’s NFL expert picks and predictions.

As for our picks last week, they went 1-2, giving a 3-week record of 3-6. In Week 4, there are only 4 games with a spread of more than 3.5 points. There doesn’t appear to be a dynamite money line pick this week for a big payout, either.

Time to regroup and try to get even.

NFL underdog predictions: Week 4

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at Thursday at 12:22 p.m. ET. All games Sunday and ET unless noted.

Arizona Cardinals (+102) at Carolina Panthers – 4:05 p.m. (FOX)

The Cardinals have not scored in the 1st quarter and have trailed at least 14 points to start every game this season, but have faced the Kansas City Chiefs, Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Rams. Their defense has held Davante Adams and Cooper Kupp to a combined 6 catches for 61 yards.

The Cardinals have also won their last 7 road games as underdogs outright.

Carolina has not yet cracked 300 yards of offense in a game. Arizona moved the ball consistently last week but didn’t get into the end zone.

The Panthers are a couple of plays from being 3-0, but they are not getting good quarterback play.

Atlanta Falcons (+105) vs. Cleveland Browns – 1 p.m. (CBS)

Scoring points has not been a problem for the Falcons, as they have had 26 or 27 points in all three games they have played this season.

The Browns have allowed 24 or more twice and are 1-1 in those games.

The Falcons are 3-0 ATS this season and, while this is not an ATS bet, with the spread set at 1.5 points, it is very difficult to cover the spread and not win outright.

Ultimately, it comes down to believing a little more in Falcons QB Marcus Mariota than in Browns QB Jacoby Brissett.

Jaguars +6.5 (-112) at Philadelphia Eagles – 1 p.m. (CBS)

The Eagles are undefeated and have been arguably the best team in the league. But the Jaguars are formidable at 2-1 and their lone loss was by only 6 points. They held the Los Angeles Chargers to 10 points.

The X-factor in this game is it is a revenge game for Jaguars HC Doug Pederson, who coached the Eagles from 2016-20.

The Lions and their offense kept things close in Week 1 with the Eagles. The Jaguars have the firepower to keep up and keep it at least a one-score game.

Best NFL underdog picks and predictions for Week 3

Analyzing NFL Week 3 betting odds and lines, with expert predictions and picks of the 3 best underdogs to cash in on.

Week 2 in the NFL brought us some wild endings and big comebacks. Two teams rallied back from 20 points or more, seven underdogs won on the money line and 10 underdogs covered the spread.

Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s NFL odds and lines, and tab the best NFL Week 3 underdog bets to cash in on among SportbookWire’s NFL expert picks and predictions.

Unfortunately, none of our underdogs from last week were among them. After an 0-3 Week 2, our running total for top underdog picks is 2-4. Time to regroup and give you three games from this week.

NFL underdog predictions: Week 3

– All games Sunday and ET unless noted

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Thursday at 10:38 a.m. ET.

Arizona Cardinals (+155) vs. Los Angeles Rams – 4:25 p.m. (FOX)

The Cardinals were one of the teams to rally back from 20 points down and ended up being a big underdog winner with a 29-23 overtime victory over the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Rams have had their number, having won 10 of the last 11 matchups, but they keep dealing with injuries. L.A. is already with 2 new starters on the offensive line and could be playing with backups at right guard and center. It also has injuries at cornerback, with Troy Hill on injured reserve and 2 others questionable for Sunday.

Arizona found its offensive rhythm in the 2nd half against the Raiders, amassing 329 yards after halftime. The defense shut down Las Vegas after halftime and Rams QB Matthew Stafford has thrown 5 interceptions through two games.

Arizona’s offense will cause problems for the Rams and Stafford will make at least one mistake.

Houston Texans (+122) at Chicago Bears – 1 p.m. (CBS)

Neither team has cracked 300 yards of offense in either of their games this season. However, the Texans have not allowed an opponent to score more than 20 points whereas the Bears gave up 27 last week.

Houston held a 20-3 lead over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1 before allowing them to come back and tie the game, resulting in a season-opening tie. Chicago’s offense is not going to fare well.

Expect a low-scoring, ugly game with the Texans picking up their first win of the year.

[the_huddle]

Detroit Lions +6.5 (-117) at Minnesota Vikings – 1 p.m. (FOX)

The Lions have been quite the surprise, having scored 35 or more in both their games this season. Detroit has covered the spread in both games.

Minnesota’s offense is capable of keeping up and the Lions have allowed 27 or more points in both games.

The Vikings’ defense allowed only 7 points in their opener to the Green Bay Packers but 24 to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 2. They will limit the Lions to the 20s and their ability to score on the Lions will keep this a close, competitive game until the end.
