The Baltimore Ravens (1-0) play the Carolina Panthers (0-1) Saturday at Bank of America Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Ravens vs. Panthers odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Panthers were dumped 21-18 on the road against the Indianapolis Colts in their preseason opener. Indianapolis capped an 11-point fourth quarter by hitting the game-winning field goal with seven seconds remaining.

Ravens at Panthers odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Panthers 19, Ravens 15

Money line

The PANTHERS (+155) are worth a look at home. Head coach John Harbaugh hasn’t committed to using QB Lamar Jackson in this one while the Panthers are expected to see the debut of QB Sam Darnold. That would be a huge advantage.

Baltimore has won 18 consecutive preseason games dating back to Sept. 3, 2015, but that streak is in jeopardy against the likes of Darnold and QB P.J. Walker, both of whom should be able to move the ball nicely.

Against the spread

If you’re not feeling the home side straight up then PANTHERS +3.5 (-115) is quite attractive.

The Panthers played well on the road in Indianapolis and only lost due to their reverses being outplayed in the final quarter. They’ll play the starters longer in this one and head coach Matt Rhule will expect much better results in front of the home fans.

Over/Under

UNDER 35.5 (-110) is the way to go. The Under cashed in 13 of the 16 preseason games in the opening weekend of exhibition play, so keep going in that direction until further notice.

Kansas City Chiefs at Arizona Cardinals odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing the Kansas City Chiefs at Arizona Cardinals preseason Week 2 matchup, with NFL odds, lines, picks, predictions and best bets.

The Kansas City Chiefs (1-0) visit the Arizona Cardinals (1-0) Friday for an 8 p.m. ET kickoff at State Farm Stadium. Below, we look at the Chiefs vs. Cardinals odds and lines and make our best NFL picks, predictions, and bets.

The Chiefs will play their starters for about a half Friday, according to head coach Andy Reid, as QB Patrick Mahomes looks to get even more comfortable with his retooled offensive line after logging about a quarter’s worth of action against the San Francisco 49ers last week.

Arizona is expected to give QB Kyler Murray his first game action of the preseason after the star quarterback sat out the opener. The Cardinals upgraded the offense during the offseason with the additions of RB James Conner and WR A.J. Green.

Chiefs at Cardinals odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Chiefs 21, Cardinals 20

Money line

Bet on the CHIEFS (-190) Reid will have his offense on the field for the entire first half.

Mahomes should thrive behind OT Orlando Brown and G Joe Thuney during the regular season and Friday night offers the first glimpse of the retooled Kansas City offensive front.

Against the spread

PASS on the Chiefs -3.5 (-105), as Reid is only 39-39-4 ATS in the preseason.

Kansas City’s high-powered offense should get the Chiefs out to an early lead before giving way to the reserves and roster bubble guys for the second half. Arizona could make things close in the end.

Over/Under

Bet on the OVER 40.5 (-115) as both teams are capable of putting points on the board in a hurry.

For Kansas City, WR Tyreek Hill, TE Travis Kelce, RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire and the retooled offensive line will all see extended time against an Arizona defense that will be without DE J.J. Watt.

Cincinnati Bengals at Washington Football Team odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing the Cincinnati Bengals at Washington Football Team preseason Week 2 matchup, with NFL odds, lines, picks, predictions and best bets.

The Cincinnati Bengals (1-0) visit the nation’s capital to take on the Washington Football Team (0-1) Friday in Week 2 of NFL preseason action. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET at FedExField. Below, we look at the Bengals vs. Washington odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

Bengals star QB Joe Burrow will not play Friday, but he is set to travel with the team. His absence will give QB Brandon Allen, who was underwhelming against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week, the start for Cincinnati.

Expect at least some of rookie WR Ja’Marr Chase and standout RB Joe Mixon. The Bengals beat the Bucs in their first preseason game, while Washington lost to the New England Patriots last week.

Washington QB Ryan Fitzpatrick should play at least one series, but he also wasn’t overly impressive in his short time against New England. Washington managed just 13 points last week.

Bengals at Washington odds, spread and lines

Odds via Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Thursday at 4:40 p.m. ET.

  • Against the spread/ATS: Bengals +3.5 (-105) | Washington -3.5 (-115)

Bengals at Washington odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Bengals 17, Washington 13

Money line

“LEAN” to the BENGALS (+180) as they should have the more better threats offensively. With a trio of talented receivers, the Bengals will be allotting snaps to many high-profile players.

While Washington will have arguably the best receiver on the field in WR Terry McLaurin, it’s unknown how much he’ll play, and regardless, he may not get many drives with Fitzpatrick.

Washington’s offense struggled in the first week with its star-studded defense not playing many series. Expect a similar story which would be beneficial for Cincinnati.

PLAY: Try our new, free daily Pick’em Challenge and win. Play now!

Against the spread

BET on the BENGALS +3.5 (-105) as the best bet in this entire game. The Bengals easily covered their Week 1 spread against the Super Bowl-winning Bucs.

On top of that, Washington’s backups on defense looked awful against New England, struggling to do anything against the ultra-accurate QB Mac Jones. WFT failed to cover the spread against the Pats.

Over/Under

BET on the UNDER 34.5 (-105) as the Bengals shouldn’t have their starters in past the first quarter and are already down Burrow. Neither team hit 20 points in their first action of the year.

Expect another low-scoring game.

New England Patriots at Philadelphia Eagles odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing the New England Patriots at Philadelphia Eagles preseason Week 2 matchup, with NFL odds, lines, picks, predictions and best bets.

The New England Patriots (1-0) visit the Philadelphia Eagles (0-1) Thursday for a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff at Lincoln Financial Field.  Below, we look at the Patriots vs. Eagles odds and lines and make our best NFL picks, predictions, and bets.

New England is coming off a 22-13 win over the Washington Football Team in its preseason opener. QB Cam Newton went 4-for-7 for 49 yards, while first-round draft pick Mac Jones saw substantially more playing time and went 13-for-19 for 87 yards.

Jones has also made up ground in the Patriots’ quarterback battle, with Newton struggling at times during joint practices in Philadelphia. RB Rhamondre Stevenson made a good impression against Washington with 127 yards and 2 rushing touchdowns on 10 carries. New England’s revamped defense will look to impress against Philadelphia’s revitalized offensive line.

Philadelphia took a 24-16 loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Lincoln Financial Field Aug. 12. Veteran QB Joe Flacco went 10-for-17 passing, including a 79-yard touchdown pass to WR Quez Watkins. QB Jalen Hurts went 3-for-7.

Rookie Eagles WR DeVonta Smith could be a game-time decision, while defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon will look to see an improved effort from his reserves who were gashed by the Pittsburgh offense from the second quarter on.

Patriots at Eagles odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Patriots 21, Eagles 13

Money line

Bet on the PATRIOTS (-115) as Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni made it clear Philadelphia would place a higher value on the team’s two days of joint practice than Thursday’s game.

Flacco will likely see more time than Hurts and Philadelphia may look to focus on the running game. For New England, even if Newton doesn’t see extended action, Jones will, and he has looked sharp throughout the week.

Additionally, Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has won seven of his last nine preseason games.

Against the spread

PASS on the Eagles +0.5 (-105).

Smith could see some action with the first team but the reserves are likely to see the bulk of the action and Philadelphia could look to focus on the running game after a week of success from a passing aspect.

Over/Under

Bet on the UNDER 37.5 (-110) as the teams spent the two days of practice sessions in competitive 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 team periods.

Hurts was accurate and efficient during the week and may not see more than a series or two. The weather could also play a factor, as there is a 30% chance of showers or thunderstorms at kickoff.

Indianapolis Colts at Minnesota Vikings odds and lines: Vikes favored on home field

Assessing the NFL preseason odds and lines for Saturday’s matchup between the Indianapolis Colts and Minnesota Vikings.

The Indianapolis Colts (1-0) travel north to take on the Minnesota Vikings 0-1) Saturday in Week 2 of the NFL preseason. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET at U.S. Bank Stadium. Below, we look at the Colts at Vikings odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Colts are slight underdogs after defeating the Carolina Panthers in Week 1 of the preseason, with QB Carson Wentz (foot) still not able to play. RB Jonathan Taylor didn’t see time in Week 1 but “looks so good,” according to head coach Frank Reich. It’s unknown whether we’ll see Taylor in Week 2.

What will be more telling is if Vikings WR Justin Jefferson, RB Dalvin Cook, QB Kirk Cousins or WR Adam Thielen play. It’d be shocking to see Cook play given his injury history, but the other three could see their first action of the preseason Saturday.

The quartet didn’t make an impact in the team’s blowout Week 1 loss to the Denver Broncos. Rookie QB Kellen Mond was just 6-for-16 in his NFL debut.

Per the +115 money line, the Colts have an implied win probability of 46.51%. The Vikings’ -140 money line odds represent a 58.33% implied win rate.

As for the game total, the Colts and Vikings must score at least 39 combined points for Over bettors to win. So far this preseason, the Under has been hot and for that to hit, the game must see 38 or fewer points scored.

Baltimore Ravens at Carolina Panthers odds and lines: Jackson, McCaffrey may see their first snaps

Looking at Saturday’s Baltimore Ravens at Carolina Panthers NFL preseason odds and lines with the Ravens listed as road favorites.

In the second preseason game for both teams, the Baltimore Ravens (1-0) travel to take on the Carolina Panthers (0-1) Saturday. The game is set to kick off at 7 p.m. ET and will be held at Bank of America Stadium. Below, we look at the Ravens at Panthers odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

Neither team played its star player in the preseason opener. With two weeks of exhibition play remaining, there’s hope that some high-profile names may get their first appearance.

Ravens QB Lamar Jackson was set to play a series last week but was instead held out of the team’s preseason opener. RB J.K. Dobbins played a series but produced zero yards on three carries.

Little should be expected of both Baltimore stars in the team’s second preseason game, but it’d also be surprising if either were held out.

Fans may also get to see Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey for the first time. He was also held out last week but has been practicing at full strength. The Panthers lost their opening game 21-18 to the Indianapolis Colts.

New to NFL betting?

The Ravens are -180 favorites on the money line which means, if they win, you’ll get $100 for every $180 you place.

Those odds also signify the Ravens have a 64.29% win probability. They need to win by 4 or more points to cover the -3.5-point spread, which will give better odds at higher risk for those backing Baltimore.

On the other side of the ball, the Panthers are +145 on the money line which indicates a win probability of 40.82%. They’re the underdogs, so placing $100 would net $145 in profit or a total return of $245. For the Panthers to cover the spread, they’d need to win or lose by no more than 3 points.

For the Over 35.5 to hit, there would need to be at least 36 points scored by the two teams. For Under bettors to win, there would need to be 35 or fewer scored.

New York Jets at New York Giants odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s New York Jets at New York Giants preseason Week 1 matchup, with NFL odds, lines, picks, predictions and best bets.

The New York Giants and New York Jets clash Saturday at MetLife Stadium in the 2021 preseason opener for both teams. Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Jets at Giants odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

Rooke Jets QB Zach Wilson will get his first taste of NFL action as he and the rest of the starters will play “about a quarter” Saturday, according to new head coach Robert Saleh. The Jets need to work in an abundance of new faces this preseason after going 2-14 in 2020.

The Giants are able to take a more conservative approach to the preseason. QB Daniel Jones won’t be playing Saturday and rookie WR Kadarius Toney is also not expected to see the field.

Jets at Giants odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Jets 18, Giants 13

Money line

The JETS (-145) are the play as moderate favorites. The Giants’ first-team offense isn’t expected to see much time together Saturday, while Saleh needs to see as much of his potential starters as possible.

Wilson, the No. 2 pick of the 2021 NFL Draft, has a clear edge in the quarterback battle against Giants backups Mike Glennon and Clayton Thorson. Gang Green also has intriguing position battles in the backfield and at wide receiver.

Against the spread

Back the JETS -2.5 (-125) for a win by 3 or more points. We’re expecting Wilson to lead more early touchdown drives for the Jets while the Giants, led by their second- and third-team QBs, will be happy to get into field goal range.

Over/Under

Lean to the UNDER 33.5 (-105) despite most of the Jets’ starters being in line for a decent amount of playing time.

Rookie WR Elijah Moore is unlikely to play due to a quadriceps issue, according to Saleh.

Los Angeles Chargers at Los Angeles Rams odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing the Los Angeles Chargers at Los Angeles Rams preseason Week 1 matchup, with NFL odds, lines, picks, predictions and best bets.

In what will be the first game ever with fans at SoFi Stadium it’s only right that both residents of the stadium – the Los Angeles Chargers and Los Angeles Rams – square off. Kickoff will be at 10 p.m. ET as these two teams begin their preseason slate. Below, we look at the Chargers vs. Rams odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

Rams head coach Sean McVay has already said his team will play it safe in the preseason again, resting about 35 players in the opener. QB Matthew Stafford will take the preseason off and won’t make his debut with Los Angeles until Sept. 12 against the Bears.

The Chargers will keep QB Justin Herbert on the sideline as well as they’re resting a good portion of their starters against the Rams. They’ve had trouble staying healthy in recent years so first-year head coach Brandon Staley isn’t taking any chances with his most important players. The Chargers have all the talent to win the AFC West, they just need to stay healthy and play up to expectations.

Chargers at Rams odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Chargers 21, Rams 14

Money line

The Rams aren’t playing any of their starters as they continue to play it safe under McVay. They won’t even be playing their backup QB John Wolford, leaving those duties to Bryce Perkins and Devlin Hodges.

QB Justin Herbert won’t play in this one for the Chargers either, but they’ll have more of their top players out there than the Rams.

Bet the CHARGERS (-200) to win outright.

Against the spread

No spread was available at the time of publishing.

Over/Under

The Over/Under is set significantly lower than most games, in fact it’s the lowest total of the week. That’s because both teams are playing it safe and holding their top players out as a precaution.

Still, the backups will put enough points on the board to push the score over the total of 32.5 points. Take the OVER 32.5 (-110).

New Orleans Saints at Baltimore Ravens odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s New Orleans Saints at Baltimore Ravens preseason Week 1 matchup, with NFL odds, lines, picks, predictions and best bets.

The Baltimore Ravens host the New Orleans Saints Saturday for a 7 p.m. ET kickoff at M&T Bank Stadium as both teams begin their 2021 preseason schedule. Below, we look at the Saints at Ravens odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

All eyes are on the quarterback battle for New Orleans as Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill are set to compete to see who will replace Drew Brees under center in Week 1. Both players are expected to see time on the field Saturday.

The Baltimore roster doesn’t have the same level of intrigue heading into the preseason opener. QB Lamar Jackson will start in Week 1 of the regular season but isn’t expected to play Saturday after a recent stint on the NFL’s COVID-19 list. QBs Trace McSorley and Tyler Huntley will compete for the backup job.

Saints at Ravens odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Ravens 17, Saints 13

Money line

The RAVENS (-140) have won 17 straight preseason games and are the team to back again against the new-look Saints.

New Orleans figures to have the motivation edge as Winston and Hill battle to be the starting QB in week 1, but the trend for Baltimore clearly favors head coach John Harbaugh as he gets a good look at his depth players at the bottom of the roster. McSorley got a taste of game action in 2020 and should get a long look Saturday.

Against the spread

Roll with the RAVENS -2.5 (-125) for a win by 3 or more points. All four of their preseason wins in 2019 were decided by 11 or more points. McSorley was the team’s top passer in each game.

Over/Under

Side with the UNDER 36.5 (-115) as it has been the trend across the NFL early in the preseason. All three of Friday’s games finished with a combined point total of 35 or fewer points.

Cincinnati Bengals at Tampa Bay Buccaneers odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing the Cincinnati Bengals at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Week 1 preseason matchup, with NFL odds, lines, picks, predictions and best bets.

In both team’s first action of the 2021 season, the Cincinnati Bengals will travel down to Florida to take on the Super Bowl-winning Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET with the game being held at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay, FL. Below, we look at the Bengals vs. Buccaneers odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Bengals will be without QB Joe Burrow in this preseason game. He tore his ACL in Week 11 of the 2020 season. While expected to be back for Week 1, he’ll be watching from the side in this one.

For Cincinnati, the offensive line’s competency, revamped defense and increasing weaponry on offense will be what to watch for. But without a steady quarterback, they may struggle to get much on the board.

For Tampa Bay, future first-ballot Hall of Famer Tom Brady is expected to play. With a championship-caliber roster returning, they’ll be the heavy favorites even if the most impactful don’t take many snaps.

Bengals at Buccaneers odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Buccaneers 24, Bengals 10

Money line

PASS on the money line because the value for both sides really isn’t there.

The Bucs are coming off a Super Bowl, and with wide receivers like Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Antonio Brown on the roster, there is ample talent to dominant Cincinnati.

However, with that -280, I wouldn’t put money on them in a preseason game  they certainly won’t put much stock in.

Against the spread

BET on the BUCCANEERS -5.5 (-115) as the best team bet. Brady is going to play, and having a competent starting quarterback is more than Cincinnati can say. Just one drive by Brady could easily result in an easy 7-0 start.

The Bengals used backup QB Brandon Allen last season following Burrow’s injury. He was unimpressive throwing four interceptions and five touchdowns.

They don’t have much outside of Burrow, and despite potentially having the best three-man trio of receivers in the league, it could still result in a struggling offense.

LB Devin White, DE Ndamukong Suh, RB Leonard Fournette and many others make an ultra-talented roster for the Bucs. Expect the Bucs to be able to run up the score even with their backups in place.

Over/Under

“LEAN” to the OVER 33.5 (-115) as the Buccaneers have depth all over the offensive side of the ball. Along those lines, the Bengals have a handful of skilled players looking to make a name for themselves.

Allen should’ve been getting reps behind Burrow, and with receivers like Tee Higgins, Ja’Marr Chase and Tyler Boyd, there’s no reason Cincinnati can’t put some points on the board.

RB Joe Mixon is healthy as well, and with a new offensive line coach in Cincinnati, they expect him to have an easy time running the ball.

If the Bengals can get points on the board and Brady gets at least one drive for the Bucs, the much better bet in this one is the Over 33.5. Also, the Bucs are returning most of their third-best offense in the NFL last season.
