Three bets and one parlay to make in the Eagles-Giants game

The Philadelphia Eagles (11-5) have one last shot to finish the season strong before getting ready for playoffs against the New York Giants (5-11) on Sunday.

The Philadelphia Eagles (11-5) have one last shot to finish the season strong before getting ready for playoffs against the New York Giants (5-11) on Sunday. Both teams have different immediate futures they’ll be looking to in the postseason, but will remain focused on what they see from their players in future games like this one.

The Eagles are (-200) favorites on BetMGM with the Giants being (+250) underdogs at home. Check out more bets and a parlay for this NFC East season finale matchup.

Jalen Hurts Anytime TD

Granted, the Eagles may choose to rest their starters and makeshift somewhat of a “bye week” that the team is going to need heading into the postseason, but if not, I expect a Hurts anytime touchdown at some point in the game. I think they might give him the touchdown opportunity and then put Marcus Mariota in, but I don’t see a world where Hurts wouldn’t get a rushing touchdown to round out the season finale.

Saquon Barkley Anytime TD

I’d say the same for Barkley. Against a divisional opponent, I’d assume Barkley is ready to throw a wrench in the Eagles’ playoff plans. In Week 16, Barkley earned a rushing touchdown and I think he’s capable of delivering again. If the Eagles defense is resting, this bet should almost be a given and you’ll probably find better value parlaying this with other bets.

O 38 Total Points

Regardless of who plays on Sunday, I think both teams are capable of putting up points to round out the season. I think whoever starts with the ball will set the momentum for the rest of the game. It’s an NFC East division on the line, so I think the Giants are either going to be trying to stop the Eagles or not care as much and just focus on good NFL Draft positioning.

Three bets and one parlay to make in the Eagles-Cowboys game

The Philadelphia Eagles (10-2) face the Dallas Cowboys (9-3) on the road for a crucial NFC East division matchup.

The Philadelphia Eagles (10-2) face the Dallas Cowboys (9-3) on the road for a crucial NFC East division matchup. The Cowboys come off of a win against the Seattle Seahawks (6-6), but the Eagles are looking to get back to the win column after a loss to the San Francisco 49ers (9-3).

BetMGM favors the Cowboys at (-175) and the Eagles are road dogs at (+145). Check out great bets before the NFC East matchup.

A.J. Brown Anytime TD

When in doubt, rely on the guy who’s always open. I think the Cowboys are going to give him a hard time today, but with that adversity, there will be a play where Brown breaks through and gets a touchdown. It’s going to happen at some point.

D. Smith Anytime TD

In the chance that Brown gets locked up by Cowboys defenders, you know DeVonta Smith will be available. I’m almost always 100% backing an “if not Brown, take Smith and vice versa” kind of bet. Smith has been phenomenal throughout the gauntlet and I think it continues today.

Total O 51.5 Points

Throughout the season, the Eagles hit this specific over vs their opponents eight times. They’ve been high-scoring in some games and kept it close in others, but for both the Eagles and Cowboys to score at least 26 points today is a serious given.

Jenn’s Pick Six Parlay

Total Points – O 51.5

D. Prescott 2+ Passing TDs

J. Hurts 1+ Passing TD

Jake Ferguson 40+ Receiving Yards

Eagles All-Pro wide receiver AJ Brown responds strongly to CeeDee Lamb comparison

Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro wide receiver A.J. Brown was having none of a Thursday afternoon PFF comparison to Cowboys star CeeDee Lamb.

A.J. Brown is one of the top wide receivers in the NFL, and he’s not here for your daily hot takes and lazy comparisons.

The Twitter page for PFF Fantasy Football sent out a tweet asking fans who is WR1 in a comparison of the Eagles All-Pro and Cowboys star CeeDee Lamb.

Brown “respectfully” chimed in, dismissing any comparisons or debate about the two as players.

Statistically, it’s close, as Lamb logged 107 catches (5th NFL) for 1,359 yards (6th NFL) and nine touchdowns (tied for 6th) while averaging 12.7 yards (41st NFL) per catch.

Brown finished last season with 88 catches (13th NFL) for an Eagles franchise record 1,496 yards (4th), 11 touchdowns (tied for 3rd), and 17.0 yards per catch (4th).

Brown also posted those numbers while playing next to DeVonta Smith, who posted 95 catches for 1,195 yards and seven touchdowns with a 12.6 average.

When they last met: Washington and NY Giants

These two teams last met in Week 18 in January. A lot has changed for both teams since that time.

“When they last met” is an ongoing series during the NFL season, recalling the preceding game between Washington and the next opponent on the Commanders’ schedule.

Washington 22, NY Giants 7 – Week 18, Jan. 9, 2022

Antonio Gibson accumulated 146 yards in his 21 carries as Washington won their last game of the 2021 season, 22-7 over the Giants at Met Life Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Gibson enjoyed an 18-yard touchdown in the final quarter putting away the game, and also a 27-yard run in the second quarter, his longest of the day. Jonathan Williams also had a 23-yard run in the third quarter.

Joey Slye was perfect on the day, making his only extra point attempt and all three of his field goal attempts from 23, 43 and 23 yards.

After a low-scoring first half which ended 6-0 on two Slye field goals, safety Bobby McCain picked off a Jake Fromm pass in the third quarter. McCain returned his interception 30 yards for a touchdown, pushing Washington’s lead to 12-0.

Taylor Heinicke and Terry McLaurin connected on a 40-yard pass reception. But other than that, Heinicke only completed 8 of his other 18 attempts for only 120 yards.

McCain actually intercepted a second pass on the day, returning this one nine yards. While Jonathan Allen, James Smith-Williams, William Bradley King and Shaka Toney all contributed .5 of a quarterback sack.

The game being the 2021 season finale for both teams, Washington finished 2021 with a 7-10 record, while the Giants loss sunk them to 4-13. Washington swept the Giants having also won at FedEx Field 30-29 in Week 2.

Carson Wentz hopes to bring stability to Washington quarterback position

Carson Wentz spoke to Julie Donaldson in his first interview as a Washington Commander.

Carson Wentz is excited to be making the transition from the Colts to the Commanders.

Wentz appeared with Julie Donaldson, Washington’s Senior VP of Media and Content in his first public interview as a member of the Washington Commanders.

“It all happens fast, this business, this life…You don’t have a lot of time to process it. It is on to the next step. Things change in a hurry.”

“Things change quickly in this business. You learn that, and you embrace it…I am full speed ahead, ready to go, ready to work. My wife is awesome too; she is a champion.”

On now playing for a team once your divisional rival: “I’ll be just fine. For fans, it might be a little weird right away but I look forward to hopefully earning that trust and earning that appreciation from fans.”

“There are definitely some rivals in the NFC East, I still have some friends in Philly, so it will be fun to compete against them. The NFC East feels right. I’ve had a lot of fun competing in this division.”

Regarding the reaction from Philly when he returns: “I am very aware (laughing) and I will be ready for it. It has already crossed my mind and I will try to not let it be about that, and just keep it between the lines and play good football.”

Julie pointed out to Carson he is the 11th QB since the 2018 season and 7th QB for Ron Rivera in his 33 games with Washington. “Nothing is guaranteed in this game. I am going to do everything I can to set myself up to be healthy, to stay out on the field, to be available. I look forward to hopefully bringing some stability to this position God-willing for a long time.”

Concerning what he has learned about life these last three seasons: “I’ve learned it is God’s plan and not my own. As a man and as an athlete you think you can control everything. There are some things out of your control. You make the most of them and God changes your course, puts you on a path. I just try to be obedient to that and make the most of it.”

“Coach Rivera is someone I have had the utmost respect for in competing against him. Who he is as a man and as a coach I am excited to work together in that regard.”

Wentz started the AO1 Foundation and he has a sports complex in Haiti, a food truck in Philadelphia and Indianapolis, and an outdoor ministry that takes kids on trips and hunts. Carson and his wife (Madison) have two daughters and three dogs.
