Miami Dolphins at New York Jets odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Miami Dolphins at New York Jets odds and lines, with expert NFL picks and predictions.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Miami Dolphins (8-8) and the New York Jets (4-12) meet Sunday in a Week 18 regular-season finale at MetLife Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:25 p.m. ET (FOX). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NFL odds around the Dolphins vs. Jets odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

The Dolphins are still alive for a postseason spot (+680 to make playoffs at FanDuel Sportsbook). Miami can clinch a Wild Card spot with a win Sunday and a Denver Broncos loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. (Denver is an 11-point home favorite Sunday at BetMGM Sportsbook, as the Chiefs will rest several key starters after clinching the AFC’s No. 1 seed.)

Miami is expected to be without QB Tua Tagovailoa (hip) for a second straight game when it matters most. Officially, he is listed as doubtful, while WR Tyreek Hill (wrist, illness) carries a questionable tag. QB Tyler Huntley is likely to get the start again in Week 18.

The Dolphins topped the lowly Cleveland Browns 20-3 Sunday in Week 17. In the absence of Tagovailoa, Hill linked up with Huntley for 105 yards on 9 receptions and targets.

For the Jets, they’re well out of the postseason mix, and the biggest news in this game is the potential end of the QB Aaron Rodgers era. He isn’t expected to be back in green, and it’s possible this could be his final NFL game.

Dolphins at Jets picks and predictions

Prediction

Jets 22, Dolphins 19

Moneyline

Backing the Jets (-110) on the moneyline makes no sense, as laying the little bit of points is a much better value.

If you like the Dolphins (-110), however, the ML is better than taking the point.

PASS.

Against the spread

JETS -1 (+100) at even-money is a better play than laying -120 on the ML.

New York has covered 2 of the past 4 games, and this could be it for Rodgers, who is likely to go out with a bang and spoil Miami’s postseason chances in the process.

Over/Under

OVER 39 (-110) is the lean, but only go with a half-unit wager at most. In other words, don’t get carried away.

The biggest reason to look high is the fact these teams combined for 58 points in South Florida in early December. Of course, that was Tagovailoa vs. Rodgers, not Huntley vs. Rodgers. The Miami offense has a much different look with the dual-threat Huntley under center.

The Jets have allowed 25 or more points in 5 of the past 6 games, however, going 5-1 O/U.

New York Jets at Buffalo Bills odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s New York Jets at Buffalo Bills odds and lines, with expert NFL picks and predictions.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The New York Jets (4-11) and Buffalo Bills (12-3) meet Sunday. Kickoff from Highmark Stadium is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET (CBS).  Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NFL odds around the Jets vs. Bills odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

The Jets are struggling down the stretch, losing 5 of their last 6 games. In Week 16, they fell 19-9 to the Los Angeles Rams, failing to cover as 3-point road underdogs. The Under 47 cashed. Despite outgaining Los Angeles 321 to 242, a key turnover proved costly. S Kamren Curl strip-sacked QB Aaron Rodgers, giving the Rams possession on the Jets’ 21-yard line, leading to the game-winning touchdown from QB Matthew Stafford to TE Tyler Higbee.

The Bills have won 9 of their last 10 games, including a 24-21 victory over the Patriots in Week 16. They didn’t cover as 14-point home favorites, and the Under 47.5 cashed. Despite trailing 14-7 at halftime, Buffalo forced 3 turnovers in the second half, highlighted by CB Taron Johnson’s fumble recovery in the end zone. RB James Cook led the way with 126 total yards and 2 touchdowns, 1 rushing and 1 receiving.

Jets at Bills picks and predictions

Prediction

Bills 34, Jets 20

Moneyline

PASS.

The Bills (-500) will lock up the No. 2 seed in the AFC playoffs with this victory Sunday at home over the Jets. But I won’t bet 5 units to win 1, I’ll take my wager to the spread.

Against the spread

BET BILLS -10 (-110).

Buffalo had a bit of a scare against the Patriots in Week 16, but they won’t be taking the Jets lightly. With playoff positioning on the line, the Bills will want to finish strong before Week 18. They’ve won 7 of the last 10 matchups, including a close 23-20 win in New York earlier this season. At home, they’ve been on fire, winning their last 4 by a combined 61 points and covering the spread in the last 2 meetings with the Jets.

Buffalo has covered in 4 of their last 6, while the Jets have failed to cover in 4 of their last 6. New York’s offense has been better lately, averaging 23 points per game (PPG), but their defense is still giving up 26 PPG, which has kept them from winning. With Rodgers and Davante Adams mostly focused on personal milestones, the Jets lack the focus to compete.

Over/Under

BET OVER 46 (-110).

The Bills average 31.3 PPG, the 2nd most in the NFL, while the Jets are at just 19.5 PPG. Even if both teams hit their averages, they would exceed this total by nearly 5 points. Buffalo’s defense has struggled recently, allowing 35.6 PPG over their last 3 games.

Allen will look to put this game away early, while Rodgers and Adams for the Jets will likely focus on padding their stats in the second half, with Rodgers just 1 touchdown away from 500 career TDs. It’s supposed to rain, which could complicate things, but I Still expect plenty of points on the board in this one.

LA Rams at New York Jets odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Los Angeles Rams at New York Jets odds and lines, with expert NFL picks and predictions.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The LA Rams (8-6) visit the New York Jets (4-10) Sunday for a Week 16 showdown at MetLife Stadium. Kickoff from East Rutherford, N.J., is set for 1 p.m. ET (CBS). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NFL odds around the Rams vs. Jets odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

The Rams have won 3 games in a row, putting themselves in great position to make a playoff run in January. They are tied for first place in the NFC West with the Seattle Seahawks — though the Rams own the tiebreaker thanks to a head-to-head win, but they play again in Week 18. LA is coming off a 12-6 victory as a 2.5-point underdog at the San Francisco 49ers in the Week 15 Thursday night game — the Under (48.5) easily cashed.

The Jets snapped a 4-game losing streak last Sunday by beating the Jacksonville Jaguars 32-25 as 3-point road favorites. New York finished with 400 total yards, the second straight week of 400 yards or more. The win was a nice bounce-back following a disappointing overtime 32-26 loss at the Miami Dolphins in Week 14.

Rams at Jets picks and predictions

Prediction

Rams 24, Jets 20

Moneyline

The Rams (-165) have been playing much better as of late, winning a 44-42 shootout against the Buffalo Bills in Week 14 before beating the 49ers 12-6 four days later.

The Jets (+140) are coming off a win over the Jaguars and have gained 400-plus yards in back-to-back weeks, but they’re still one of the weaker teams in the league.

Given the Rams’ volatility from week to week this season, they’re not worth taking on the ML at -165. PASS.

Against the spread

In their last 8 games, the Rams are 6-2 ATS. The Jets are a paltry 5-9 ATS on the season, including 3-7 ATS in the last 10 games.

Even with the number of one-possession games the Rams play, they’re still a good bet to cover the spread.

The spread is sitting at the key number of -3, so it’s not a bad idea to take the Rams now before the line moves up to -3.5.

BET RAMS -3 (-110) to cover the spread in their fourth straight game.

Over/Under

With the kickoff temperature projected to be around 24 degrees with 8 mph winds, colder conditions could make throwing the ball a bit more difficult. As a result, both teams could turn more toward their rushing attack, something the Rams have done in each of the last 2 weeks; RB Kyren Williams has 29 carries in back-to-back games.

The Jets’ passing attack isn’t prolific right now despite having talented receivers, so we could see the final score be lower than anticipated.

BET UNDER 46.5 (-110).

Jets at Jaguars picks and predictions

Prediction

Jets 20, Jaguars 17

Moneyline

PASS.

There is minimal value on a Jets (-175) team that has dropped 9 of its last 10 to win.

Against the spread

LEAN JAGUARS +3.5 (-115).

New York has covered in just 2 of its last 10 games, going 1-4 ATS in its last 5 road games. It has allowed 26 or more points in each of its last 4 games while scoring 21 or fewer points in 3 of its last 5 outings.

Jacksonville is 6-3-1 ATS in its last 10 games including 3-0-1 ATS in its last 4 home games.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 40.5 (-110).

With both teams struggling and dealing with injuries and mishaps, the Under is the best wager even with a lower total. The Jags have scored 20 or fewer points in 4 straight weeks. They have scored 10 or fewer points in 3 of the last 4 games while allowing 12 or fewer points twice in the last 4 games. The Jets have scored 21 or fewer points in 3 of their last 5 games.

New York Jets at Miami Dolphins odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s New York Jets at Miami Dolphins odds and lines, with expert NFL picks and predictions.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The New York Jets (3-9) and Miami Dolphins (5-7) meet Sunday. Kickoff from Hard Rock Stadium is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET (CBS). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NFL odds around the Jets vs. Dolphins odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

The Jets’ struggles continued with their 3rd straight loss, falling 26-21 to the visiting Seattle Seahawks. Despite entering as 1.5-point favorites, New York couldn’t deliver and the Over (42) cashed. QB Aaron Rodgers threw 2 touchdowns, including one to WR Davante Adams, but failed to hit 200 passing yards for the 3rd game in a row — Rogers finished with 185 passing yards and 1 interception. His costly pick-6 to DL Leonard Williams in the 3rd quarter proved pivotal, sparking the Seahawks’ comeback and another tough defeat for the Jets.

The Dolphins had a 3-game win streak snapped Thanksgiving night with a 30-17 loss to the Green Bay Packers. They couldn’t cover as 3.5-point road underdogs and the Under (47.5) hit. QB Tua Tagovailoa carried the offense with 365 yards and 2 touchdowns, but the run game stalled as Miami only rushed for 39 yards.

This is the Jets-Dolphins first meeting of the season. They’ll face off again in Week 18 at the MetLife Stadium.

Jets at Dolphins picks and predictions

Prediction

Dolphins 35, Jets 17

Moneyline

PASS.

The Dolphins (-275) should bounce back in Week 14 with a win over the struggling Jets. New York’s season has unraveled, and it will be missing a key weapon in RB Breece Hall. Miami’s playoff hopes as a Wild Card remain alive, but it can’t afford more losses. Expect the Dolphins to deliver at home.

Against the spread

BET DOLPHINS -6 (-105).

The Jets are a disaster, which all ties back to Rodgers. The team gave the QB everything he wanted, and it completely backfired, costing both the coach and GM their jobs. The Jets have failed to cover the spread in 8 of their last 9 games, while the Dolphins covered 4 straight before the Thanksgiving loss to the Packers.

The Jets defense has been a letdown all season. Missing LB C.J. Mosley and likely CB Sauce Gardner won’t help them Sunday. The defense has allowed 28.3 points per game over the last 3 outings.

On the other side, the Dolphins are thriving offensively with Tagovailoa back under center, averaging 27.0 points per game over the last 6 contests, well above their season average.

Miami should cruise at home and easily cover this line against a depleted Jets team.

Over/Under

BET OVER 45 (-110).

Since Tagovailoa’s return, the Dolphins offense has been on fire, as mentioned with its 27.0 PPG over the last 6 matchups. Miami has gone Over the total in 4 of those games and in its last 4 at home.

On the other side, the Jets’ defense has fallen apart, giving up the 28.3 PPG over the last 3 and hitting the Over in the last 2.

With Miami’s explosive offense facing a struggling, injury-riddled Jets defense, expect the Dolphins to score big and keep the Over trend going.

Seattle Seahawks at New York Jets odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Seattle Seahawks at New York Jets odds and lines, with expert NFL picks and predictions.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Seattle Seahawks (6-5) and New York Jets (3-8) meet Sunday. Kickoff from MetLife Stadium is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET (FOX). Below, we look at Jets vs. Seahawks odds from BetMGM Sportsbook’s NFL odds before making our expert NFL picks and predictions later in the week.

The Seahawks have won back-to-back games after defeating the visiting Arizona Cardinals 16-6 Nov. 24 to claim the NFC West lead. Seattle covered as a 1-point underdog, and the Under (47) hit. WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba led the offense with 6 catches for 77 yards and a TD. On defense, the Seahawks delivered 5 sacks, while CB Coby Bryant sealed the game with a 69-yard interception return for a score.

The Jets entered their Week 12 bye on a 2-game skid. QB Aaron Rodgers failed to reach 200 passing yards in either outing. New York has lost 7 of its last 8 games, including a 28-27 defeat to the Indianapolis Colts Nov. 17 as 4-point home favorites. The Over (43.5) cashed.

Seahawks at Jets picks and predictions

Prediction

Seahawks 20, Jets 13

Moneyline

BET SEAHAWKS (-110).

Vegas has this game as essentially a pick’em, likely because the Seahawks must travel cross-country.

Seattle is the better team in every phase. The Jets are a mess organizationally, and their locker room issues aren’t helped by Rodgers, whose Achilles injury has diminished his play. The Jets defense, once considered elite, has only 2 interceptions this season, the second-fewest in the league, and struggles to force turnovers.

New York has lost and failed to cover 7 of its last 8 games.

Meanwhile, the Seahawks are finding ways to win, with QB Geno Smith proving to be a steady presence. Seattle has won and covered 2 straight games and should handle this struggling Jets squad.

Against the spread

PASS.

Not much difference between the moneyline and spread in this one. I’ll take the safer bet on the moneyline with the Seahawks.

Over/Under

PASS.

The Seahawks have gone Under in 5 consecutive games, failing to score more than 20 points in their last 4.

The Jets, averaging 18.5 points per game, have also seen the Under hit in 2 of their last 3 matchups. With New York scoring fewer than 10 points in 2 of its last 8 games, its offensive struggles are unlikely to improve against Seattle. Everything points toward this being a low-scoring affair in Week 13.

The Indianapolis Colts (4-6) take on the New York Jets (3-7) Sunday afternoon. Kickoff from MetLife Stadium is set for 1 p.m. ET (CBS). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NFL odds around the Colts vs. Jets odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

The Colts dropped their third straight game Nov. 10 with a 30-20 failure to cover as 4.5-point dogs. QB Joe Flacco threw for 272 yards, 2 TDs and 3 INTs, which led the team to shift back to Anthony Richardson under center. Richardson hasn’t thrown for 200 yards since Week 2 and has 4 TDs to 7 INTs.

The Jets were grounded 31-6 by the Arizona Cardinals Nov. 10. QB Aaron Rodgers was 22-for-35 for 151 yards, 0 TDs and 0 INTs as he failed to move the offense. The Jets had 17 first downs to Arizona’s 28. The Jets have lost 6 of 7.

Colts at Jets picks and predictions

Prediction

Jets 17, Colts 14

Moneyline

This is one of those games that the books admit can go either way. That’s why they have the home team at -210 on the ML but just -4 on the spread. If Flacco were under center, I’d have more confidence in taking the Colts +170 here.

I’ll look to the spread instead. I’m actually going to go with JONATHAN TAYLOR OVER 81.5 RUSHING YARDS (-120) here. The last time Richardson started was against a solid Houston front, and JT had 105 rush yards.

Against the spread

I’ll take the COLTS +4 (-110) here. This really should be a little higher, but the books have hedged here, which means they agree that the Colts could make this one interesting. The Colts are one of the better teams ATS this year at 7-3.

Over/Under

It’s expected to be in the low 60s without much wind or rain for this one. So weather shouldn’t be an issue. Two flailing offenses without much of a threat in the aerial game is an issue. The Jets have cashed 2 straight Unders, and the Colts have hit 4 of 5 Unders.

Take the UNDER 43.5 (-110).

Jets at Cardinals picks and predictions

Prediction

Cardinals 23, Jets 19

Moneyline

This is an interesting game. The Jets are a very good defensive team, but  allow 132.6 rushing yards per game. The Cardinals run the ball very well, averaging 149.6 yards. They rushed for 213 yards last week in their win against the Bears. So RB James Conner should have a good game.

The question becomes which Cardinals defense shows up. They have not allowed a TD at home since their Week 4 loss to Washington.

The Jets have been bad offensively, 25th in scoring at 19.0 points per game.

And so with how the Cardinals have been playing on both sides of the ball, I give them the edge.

BET CARDINALS (+110).

Against the spread

The Cardinals’ 4 losses have all been by at least a TD, so if you think they might lose, you should go with the Jets to cover.

The Jets have been favored in 4 of their last 6 games. They only covered once and that was an outright win last week.

PASS.

Over/Under

The projected total seems high. However, the Jets have allowed 23 or more points in 4 of their last 5 games while the Cardinals have held opponents to 20 or fewer points in 4 of their 5 home games.

BET UNDER 46.5 (-110).

Houston Texans at New York Jets odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Houston Texans at New York Jets odds and lines, with expert NFL picks and predictions.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Houston Texans (6-2) meet the New York Jets (2-6) for Thursday Night Football in Week 9. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET (Prime Video). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NFL odds around the Texans vs. Jets odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

The Texans hit the road for the Meadowlands on a short week, and it might raise some eyebrows to see the 6-2 Texans are underdogs to the 2-6 Jets. However, there is concern with the Houston offense, which lost WR Stefon Diggs (knee) to a season-ending injury, joining WR Nico Collins on the shelf.

The top pass catchers are expected to be WR Tank Dell, who has a history of injuries himself, while TE Dalton Schultz is likely to be second in the pecking order. WRs Xavier Hutchinson, John Metchie III and veteran Robert Woods represent the next men up.

For the Jets, they’re coming off a disappointing 25-22 loss against the New England Patriots on the road in Week 8. New York fired coach Robert Saleh prior to the Week 6 matchup with Buffalo, but the new regime is not only 0-3 straight up (SU) since the coaching change, but 0-3 against the spread (ATS), too, while going 0-5 SU/ATS since Week 4.

Texans at Jets picks and predictions

Prediction

Jets 22, Texans 18

Moneyline

The Jets (-125) should be able to get the job done, using a combination of defense and timely offense.

If the Texans (+105) had a full cadre of receivers, this would be a slam-dunk play. But, Houston will be down a handful of playmakers on a short week.

PASS.

Against the spread

The JETS -1.5 (-115) are a much better play laying the little bit of points, rather than the slightly more expensive moneyline play.

Unless you’re dead-set on New York winning, but only by a single point, playing the moneyline makes no sense.

The Jets have won the past 2 meetings in this series, too, outscoring the Texans by average 15 PPG in the span. They’re also 3-1-1 ATS in the previous 5 meetings, while going 5-2-1 ATS in 8 battles since 2006.

Over/Under

UNDER 42 (-110) is the lean, but go with a half-unit play at best.

The Texans should have some difficulty putting up points, at least through the air, especially against a sturdy Jets defense. The Under is on a 6-1 run for Houston, and that was with Diggs until last Sunday, and Collins for a majority of the season.

For the Jets, the Over has cashed in the past 3 games, but that’s because the defense has let up a little bit. New York still ranks fourth in the NFL with just 286.9 total yards allowed, and only 161.1 passing yards per game, and both marks rank in the Top 5.

Jets at Patriots picks and predictions

Prediction

Jets 27, Patriots 10

Moneyline

PASS.

There is no value on the Jets (-350) to win on Sunday.

Against the spread

BET JETS -7 (-105).

New York has struggled in its last 4 games, but it has a great opportunity to get back on track against New England. The Patriots have not won since their first game and have failed to cover in 5 straight weeks. They have allowed 32 or more points in back-to-back weeks and have not scored more than 21 points in any game this season.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 41 (-110).

The Jets have failed to hit the Over in 4 of their last 6 games while scoring 20 or fewer points in each of their last 4 games. The Patriots have not scored more than 21 points in any game and have scored less than 16 points in 4 of their last 5 games. The teams met in Week 3 and the Jets held the Patriots to just 3 points while scoring 24.
