Kevin Durant liked an Instagram post about James Harden wanting a trade to the 76ers

This James Harden situation just got a bit messier.

In the NBA things can change in the blink of an eye. The Nets are a perfect case study in that.

The moment after the Milwaukee Bucks won their title last season, all the attention shifted to the Brooklyn Nets as the new favorites to win the championship. And why wouldn’t they be? After all, they were just a few inches away from beating the Bucks themselves. And that was just with Kevin Durant. If they could stay healthy, there is no stopping this team.

Yet here we are just half a year later and it looks like this team is on the verge of collapsing. Kyrie Irving is only playing on the road because he’s unvaccinated. Kevin Durant is out with a knee injury.

And James Harden seems to be done with it all.

Harden wants to be traded to the 76ers, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski but doesn’t want to formally request the trade because of the backlash he’d face.

But at least one teammate seems to have already accepted that he’s done there. And that teammate is Kevin Durant.

Durant liked a post on Instagram from The Score about Harden wanting a trade.

Whew, man. This is just messy. The Nets gave up Caris LeVert, Jarrett Allen and a number of draft picks and swaps through 2027 to get Harden. Durant, himself, vouched for him.

Harden reportedly being through with the team is a pretty tough break — albeit a bit understandable because this isn’t what Harden signed up for.

Fans from around the NBA had mixed reactions. They were here for the drama.

NBA Trade Rumors: Will we finally get the James Harden-Ben Simmons trade? That and more from around the league

Things are coming down to the wire.

We are just over 24 hours away from the NBA’s trade deadline and things are very clearly heating up.

We’ve already got big chips off the market in Domantas Sabonis and CJ McCollum. One might also assume Bradley Beal is off the market as well after the Wizards announced he was scheduled to have season-ending wrist surgery.

But there are still some pretty big names out there to be had. At the top of that list sit both James Harden and Ben Simmons, who may end up being traded for one another in some form.

Oh, and did I mention the Lakers haven’t done anything yet? There’s still plenty more to come with this deadline. Let’s jump into it.

NBA Twitter reacts to James Harden trade rumors

Here’s how NBA Twitter reacted to the James Harden – Ben Simmons trade rumors.

With six days to go until the trade deadline, rumors around the league are heating up.

Earlier today, the Clippers and Blazers agreed to a five-player deal, while at the same time, according to Shams Charania, the Brooklyn Nets are now open to trading James Harden. Per the same report, the Philadelphia 76ers are expected to pursue the 32-year old superstar.

Thus, with all rumors circling the online basketball world, NBA Twitter had a whole lot of reactions.

Four burning questions we have ahead of Kyrie Irving’s season debut with the Nets

Kyrie Irving is back so what does this mean for the NBA? Let’s talk about it.

It’s been a long time since we’ve seen Kyrie Irving play basketball, but it’s happening soon. Very, very soon.

The All-Star point guard will make his season debut for the Nets on the road Wednesday night against the Indiana Pacers. Irving has been absent from the team because of his vaccination status.

Local regulations in New York have blocked Irving from playing in games with the Nets all season long, but he could still play on the road where those regulations didn’t apply.

However, the team refused to allow him to be what they were calling a “part-time” player initially, telling that unless he was vaccinated he could not play.

Now, here we are months later, and the Nets have completely changed their tune. Irving is back in the lineup. A weird Brooklyn Nets season just got even weirder.

With Irving back, even partially, the landscape of the NBA completely flips. So what does this mean for the Nets? The rest of the league? Let’s talk about it.

The 10 best NBA Christmas commercials of All-Time, including Kobe and LeBron’s MVPuppets and Jingle Hoops

CHRISTMAS IS HERE.

Do you feel that? Can you hear it? The sound of the bells jingling and the balls bouncing? Ah, yes. It’s that time of year again.

It’s Christmas time. And that means it’s also time for some (hopefully!) NBA basketball. Every single year the NBA gives us marquee matchups between its powerhouse teams from around the league filled with stars.

Along with these great games and big stars, we also get big commercials. The NBA has been giving us absolutely incredible commercials celebrating their Christmas Day extravaganza for years now.

Some are more fun. Others are more serious. But they’re all pretty cool to watch and a great way to reminisce on NBA seasons from Christmas past.

Here are the 10 best, ranked. You’re welcome.

How one bettor turned $15 into $81,000 with the help of Landry Shamet, who couldn’t care less about sports betting

Looking into how one bettor earned more than $81k on a 4-leg parlay.

We’ve all pieced together parlays that have a tremendous payout but relatively no chance to hit. That’s likely what this one bettor did on Thursday night when he was able to bring in more than $81,000 on a $15 NBA bet.

The ticket consisted of four different NBA players (Blake Griffin, Landry Shamet, Justin Holiday, and Daniel Theis) that would need to tally at least 15 points on the evening. Not a single one of the four players average more than 10.0 points per game on the season.

Holiday, the highest-scoring of the quartet (10.0), made his way to 15 points by the opening minutes of the fourth quarter in Indiana’s win over Detroit. His total (17) was the least surprising of all — Holiday had scored 15 points or more in three of the prior seven games.

Next up was Blake Griffin, who statistically was the least likely of the four players to score 15 points. Why? Well, Griffin had been completely out of Steve Nash’s rotation recently until COVID hit the Nets hard and brought Griffin back into the mix. A late three-pointer with 1:13 left simultaneously put a dagger in the visiting Philadelphia 76ers while keeping the bettor alive.

The Theis prop was drama-free. He would only need three and a half quarters to make his way to 15 points for just the third time all season. The ticketholder had to wait patiently into the night to see if Landry Shamet would be the final piece to his $81k payout. For a while, it didn’t look promising.

I can only imagine the stress the bettor felt as Shamet sat on 10 points with just under five minutes of garbage time remaining. Alas, Landry connected on two three-pointers down the stretch of the blowout. And while Shamet doesn’t care about everyone’s parlays, he’s making at least one man a bit wealthier.
