Chris Curry, Nelson Jenkins enter the NCAA transfer portal

LSU running back Chris Curry was expected to be the Tigers’ top rusher in 2020.

LSU running back Chris Curry was expected to be the Tigers’ top rusher in 2020. Unfortunately for Curry, LSU’s running attack never truly got going, and the team struggled to run the ball at times in a disappointing 5-5 season.

On Tuesday, Curry entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal.

As a redshirt sophomore in 2020, Curry appeared in seven games for the Tigers, rushing for 145 yards on 45 attempts for an average of 3.2 yards per attempt.

Curry finished third on the team in rushing yards in 2020, behind Tyrion Davis-Price and John Emery Jr.

The 5-foot-11, 216-pounder from Lehigh Acres, Florida, entered 2020 with 190 career rushing yards.

His best performance came last season in the College Football Playoff semifinal win over Oklahoma, where he rushed for 90 yards on 16 attempts, stepping in for Clyde Edwards-Helaire.

With both Davis-Price and Emery sidelined in the season finale against Ole Miss, Curry played sparingly, rushing for eight yards on five attempts, while freshmen Tre Bradford and Josh Williams received the bulk of the carries and combined to rush for 146 yards.

Also entering the transfer portal on Monday was redshirt sophomore defensive tackle, Nelson Jenkins.

Nelson made one tackle in his LSU career, back in 2018. He played in one game in 2019 and opted out of the 2020 season.

Texas Longhorns Football: Defensive tackle Daniel Carson enters the transfer portal

Defensive tackle Daniel Carson announced he would be entering the transfer portal via Twitter. He was in his third year with the program.

The NCAA’s transfer portal has hit Tom Herman and the Texas Longhorns again.

Defensive tackle Daniel Carson announced he would be entering the transfer portal via Twitter on Friday morning. A third-year player out of Independence, Missouri, Carson was in his third year with the program.

Here is Carson’s statement via Twitter:

“First, I would like to thank the strength staff at the University of Texas for giving me the strength and mental toughness I have gained the last three years. Specifically, Coach McKnight for taking me and molding me into the man I’ve become today. I thank all of my brothers who has came to this university that has helped me become a better player, teammate, and most importantly a man on and off the field. The memories we share will never go away and I appreciate every one of you. This decision didn’t happen overnight. It took long nights, prayers, and help from people I hold dear to me heart. The University of Texas will always hold weight in my heart and it will always be TEXAS. But with that being said, I am officially in the transfer portal. #NewChapter.”

Coming out of high school, Carson was a three-star on the 247Sports composite. He was the No. 23 strong-side defensive end in the 2018 class and the No. 10 player in the state of Missouri.

For the Longhorns, he played in four games (Lousiana Tech, Rice, West Virginia, Iowa State) throughout the 2019 season. Carson made his only career tackle in the season opener against the Bulldogs. He did not see the field during the 2020 season.

When he was being recruited Scott Frost and the Nebraska Cornhuskers were big players. Carson will have three years of eligibility left where ever he ends up.

LSU DE Travez Moore enters the transfer portal

LSU senior defensive end Travez Moore entered the NCAA transfer portal on Wednesday, according to Matt Zenitz of AL.com

LSU senior defensive end Travez Moore entered the NCAA transfer portal on Wednesday, according to Matt Zenitz of AL.com

Moore’s time in Baton Rouge was short as he played in just four games for the Tigers, including two this year. This year for LSU, Moore recorded three tackles in two games, including one for loss and a sack.

In 2019, Moore played in two games, finishing with three tackles and a half-sack.

Originally a junior-college transfer, Moore came to LSU from Copiah-Lincoln Community College, where he was the No. 1 ranked JUCO weakside defensive end in 2019, according to 247Sports.

Moore originally opted out of the remainder of the 2020 season in October, and head coach Ed Orgeron said he never personally spoke with Moore.

The emergence of freshman B.J. Ojulari played a major role in Moore’s limited playing time in 2020.

LSU QB Peter Parrish enters NCAA transfer portal

Parrish entered his name into the portal over the weekend.

Former LSU quarterback Peter Parrish’s time in Baton Rouge appears to be over after he entered his name in the NCAA transfer portal over the weekend.

Before spring practice was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic, LSU had starting quarterback Myles Brennan and a pair of true freshmen, Max Johnson and TJ Finley, who had just enrolled in January, as the only scholarship quarterbacks participating in practice.

Parrish, a rising redshirt freshman, did not participate.

Head coach Ed Orgeron later revealed Parrish did not participate because he was suspended for a violation of team rules.

While the news around Parrish was quiet in recent months, he was no longer listed on the official roster in early-July and it was apparent he and the school parted ways.

A four-star recruit in the class of 2019, Parrish was ranked as the No. 11 dual-threat quarterback in his country. He redshirted in 2019.

Parrish is the second former Tiger to enter the transfer portal in recent days, following senior tight end Jamal Pettigrew.

Former LSU LB Marcel Brooks transfers to TCU

Brooks will join the Horned Frogs in 2020.

When former LSU linebacker Marcel Brooks entered the transfer portal in back June, there was still some hope he would reconsider and end up back in Baton Rouge.

On Tuesday, it became evident that wouldn’t be happening when it was revealed Brooks would be heading to TCU.

Brooks was a five-star recruit for the Tigers in 2019 and appeared in 11 games last fall in a reserve role. He recorded eight tackles and 1.5 sacks for the national champion Tigers.

His departure at linebacker is a short-term concern for head coach Ed Orgeron and defensive coordinator Bo Pelini.

The Tigers lost Patrick Queen, K’Lavon Chaisson and Jacob Phillips to the NFL Draft in April. Brooks was expected to play a larger role in 2020.

Brooks is a massive addition for TCU. He must apply for a waiver if he desires immediate eligibility. If the request is not granted, Brooks will redshirt in the 2020 season and have three years of eligibility remaining.

Walk-on Georgia WR reaches transfer decision

Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver Josh Moran has reached a decision on his transfer destination. He’s headed to New Mexico State.

Walk-on Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver Josh Moran entered the NCAA transfer portal just before graduating, according to Radi Nabulsi of Rivals. Now, Moran has reached a decision on his transfer destination.

Moran will be transferring to the New Mexico State Aggies, an FBS independent school. Moran was quite thankful for his time at UGA:

Moran graduated from the University of Georgia in December with a degree in Management.

Since coming to Georgia, Moran has been a member of the UGA scout team. However, he missed 2019 as a result of injury.

He came to Athens out Milton High School in his hometown of Alpharetta.

Moran is a graduate transfer and will be eligible to play immediately for the Aggies. The last time New Mexico State faced the Georgia Bulldogs, the Aggies fell 63-16 in a 2011 game where Aaron Murray threw for five touchdowns and helped UGA score a 42 point quarter.
