WATCH: Pat McAfee hits ‘universe ball’ shot, predicts Michigan State basketball will win the National Title

Well, I think this settles it, we can cancel the games and call Michigan State basketball the men’s national champion. On Thursday, Pat McAfee, who has a producer who is a huge MSU fan, said that if he hit his ‘universe ball’ shot in his studio, it means that Michigan State would win the national title.

And he hit it.

LOOK: Michigan State basketball big man Carson Cooper sporting face mask for NCAA Tournament

Carson Cooper has some new face gear after taking a blow to the head in the Purdue game

Michigan State basketball has used a committee at center this year, but I think many Spartan fans would posit that Carson Cooper has played the best ball, or at least the most consistent, of the centers MSU has used this season. In MSU’s last game of the Big Ten Tournament against Purdue, Cooper took a massive shot to the face which sent him to the ground with blood coming out of his nose.

While Cooper isn’t sure if the nose is broken, conclusively, he will be donning a black face mask for the NCAA Tournament, which you can see below:

Michigan State women’s basketball a 9-seed in the NCAA Tournament

Michigan State women’s basketball a 9-seed in the NCAA Tournament

It didn’t take Robyn Fralick long to make her mark on Michigan State women’s basketball. In the first year under new head coach Robyn Fralick, the Spartans make the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2021.

MSU will be a 9-seed in the tournament and will face 8-seed North Carolina in the first round of play. The Spartans will be trying to make a run this year, the program hasn’t made the Sweet Sixteen since 2009.

Michigan State basketball makes 26th straight NCAA Tournament

For the 26th tournament in a row, Michigan State basketball is going dancing

For the 26th time in a row, starting in 1998, Michigan State basketball is going dancing. Despite a lot of stress this weekend after some crazy conference tournament outcomes put them back on the bubble, the Spartans will still sneak into the NCAA Tournament after a 19-14 season.

The Spartans will be in the region as the 9-seed, going up against 8-seeded Mississippi State. So yes, it will be MSU vs. MSU in the NCAA Tournament.

LOOK: QB Rocky Lombardi throwing passes at Michigan State football Pro Day

I’m sure we will hear the full story on how this happened, but on the surface, there was a very classy move at Wednesday’s Michigan State football Pro Day, as the Spartans’ new coaching staff invited former MSU quarterback Rocky Lombardi to throw passes.

Whether this was just out of necessity because MSU’s other three quarterbacks from this past season all transferred out, or because the staff wanted to give Rocky his opportunity to shine for scouts, we will probably find out soon, but at least for now, this looked like a really classy gesture.

And here he is weighing in:

You can see every player who participated in the Michigan State Pro Day here.

Every Michigan State football player who participated in this year’s Pro Day

Which Spartans showed off their skills at Wednesday’s Pro Day? You can see here:

It’s almost time for the NFL draft, and while only one Spartan was invited to the NFL Draft Combine, Nick Samac, but that doesn’t mean other Michigan State football players don’t still have dreams of playing pro football.

With leagues out there like the UFL, there are a number of ways for college football players to continue their careers after school, in or out of the NFL.

On Wednesday, ten Spartans (and one former Spartan) showed off their skills at MSU’s Pro Day, and you can see who participated below.

Michigan State basketball SG Tyson Walker named Second team All-Big Ten

Michigan State basketball SG Tyson Walker named Second team All-Big Ten

Michigan State basketball shooting guard Tyson Walker had one of the best individual scoring seasons of the Tom Izzo era at MSU, and for his efforts, was named Second team All-Big Ten by both the coaches and media.

I will take a little umbrage to this selection, as Tyson was also on the second team last season, and this year, they actually expanded the first team to include six players, which was strange. The expanded first team included Jahmyr Young, Maryland’s excellent point guard. The issue I have with including Young over Walker is that their numbers are similar, but Maryland went 7-13 in the Big Ten and had a disappointing year (much more-so than MSU).

It was a tough day, and a tough match-up, for MSU women’s basketball, who fell to a strong Nebraska team in the Quarterfinals of the Big Ten Tournament.

For the second time this season, the Spartans were outmatched by the Cornhuskers, as Michigan State fell to Nebraska 73 to 61.

Alexis Markowski led the way for Nebraska, dropping 22 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 assists as the Cornhuskers dominated MSU on the boards, outrebounding the Spartans 44 to 30.

Michigan State, a team who has become known for their offense, struggled to get anything going today with the exception of Julia Ayrault, who scored 25.

Keon Coleman is in attendance at the Breslin Center for senior night

Keon Coleman may have transferred to Florida State from Michigan State, but he still came back to support his former teammates at MSU on Wednesday night for senior night, sporting a Steven Izzo jersey nonetheless.

It’s a nice gesture from Coleman to come show his support after participating in the NFL combine this week.
