While Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett may have struggled early, with an ill timed pass attempt that what intercepted by Alabama, he’s made up for it with a perfect pass to running back James cook.

Georgia has recovered quickly from a really sketchy start. Mainly because of line of scrimmage control on key downs.

Stettson had had time to comfortably step in to his throw and running back Zamir White’s touchdown early was a great example as well.

Georgia senior LB Monte Rice a game-time decision for Alabama game

Georgia’s leading tackler Monte Rice is game-time decision for Alabama game. Details her

According to Dawg Nation, Senior linebacker Monte Rice is listed as a game-time decision for Georgia’s matchup with Alabama Saturday night.

Rice is the Bulldogs’ leading tackler and is coming off one of the best performances of his career last week versus Tennessee.

The Huntsville, Alabama native racked up eight tackles, one sack, a forced fumble, two fumble recoveries and a touchdown against the Volunteers in Georgia’s 44-21 win.

If Rice isn’t able to go, look for junior linebackers Quay Walker and Channing Tyndall to see more of the field.

Both guys are plenty capable of picking up the slack and Tyndall recorded two sacks last week against Tennessee in a small amount of snaps, so the Bulldogs will be fine in the middle whether Rice can go or not.

Make sure you’re caught up for the game of the year, No. 3 Georgia at No. 2 Alabama in a battle for king of the SEC. We breakdown everything you need to know for the game in this week’s episode of the UGA Football Live podcast, featuring special guest Keith Marshall.

Georgia has two of the highest graded returning edge defenders in SEC

According to PFF, Georgia edge defenders Malik Herring and Azeez Olujari are two of the top three returning in the SEC in 2020.

According to PFF (Pro Football Focus) Georgia is returning two of the SEC’s top edge defenders for the 2020 season.

Georgia senior defensive end Malik Herring graded as the highest returning SEC edge defender at 90.5. Herring, from Forsyth, Georgia, played in 13 games for the Bulldogs in 2019 and recorded five tackles for loss and 26 total tackles as part of a Georgia defensive line that played mostly as a unit, rotating in and out to keep legs fresh.

A few points behind Kentucky’s Jamar Watson on the list is Georgia red-shirt sophomore Azeez Ojulari, who graded as the third best SEC returning edge defender at 78.0.

After a red-shirting his freshman season, Ojulari burst onto the scene for the Bulldogs in 2019, recording 36 tackles and six for a loss. Against Tennessee, the Marietta, Georgia native led the team with two sacks and 10 quarterback pressures.

The 2019 Georgia defense was one of the best the Bulldogs have ever seen. And with the help of returning starters like Malik Herring and Azeez Olujari with veterans like Monty Rice and Richard LeCounte III, Georgia could have another record-breaking defense in 2020.
