Final Raiders 2024 NFL mock draft roundup

One last time we round up Raiders picks across the mock draft landscape

The draft is just a day away. Which means it’s time to round up all the mock drafts one final time to see what the consensus thinks about who the Raiders will pick.

For this, I went back through more than a month of mock drafts for over 100 mock drafts. Most of the selections here are at 13. But several have the Raiders trading up before making their pick and at least one has them trading down before making their pick.

Raiders mock draft roundup post first wave of free agency

Raiders mock draft roundup after first wave of free agency

It’s been a week now since NFL free agency *officially* opened and players could *officially* sign with their new teams and teams could *officially* execute trades. That also means we have a full week of mock drafts which reflect the changes in team rosters.

The Raiders big ticket signings were DT Christian Wilkins and QB Gardners Minshew. The former fills a major need, the latter mostly just gives them some insurance and may or may not effect how they approach the draft.

The Raiders also cut some players and allowed others to leave in free agency, thus opening up some positions which they may look to the draft to fill.

Knowing all that, here is a good sized sample roundup of mock drafts over the past week.

NFL mock draft database: Raiders post-free agency pick makes hard shift to defense

Post-free agency mock draft roundup sees Raiders pick make hard shift to defense

We are now a week into the new league year and the official opening of free agency. Giving us a nice sample size of mock drafts to see how the landscape has changed since free agency began.

The landscape has seen seismic shifts with regard to what the NFL world predicts the Raiders will do with their selection at seven overall.

Most notably the shift has gone from almost entirely offense to majority defense.

Prior to the start of free agency, of the 55 mock drafts I had collected, 52 of them were for offensive players. Just three had the Raiders going defense.

Since free agency, those numbers have flipped.

Post Derek Carr cut Raiders mock draft roundup

Derek Carr is officially out. So, who do mock drafters across the internet have the Raiders taking at 7?

On Valentines Day, Derek Carr became an eligible NFL bachelor. Free to jump in the dating pool to find his next team. That wasn’t some kind of cruel joke being played by the Raiders to cut him on that day specifically, it’s just how it worked out.

If he were on the roster by February 15, his contract guarantees would’ve kicked in. So, on Tuesday, he was set free.

The move has been expected for some time, so you’d think the mock drafts out there would mostly have reflected that fact. The only question being if those making those predictions think the Raiders will go with a veteran acquisition or use their pick at 7th overall to fill the need.

To see what they’re saying, we put together some 46 different mock draft picks going back one month. Here are the results.

Rounding up what they’re predicting the Raiders will take with their top pick in this year’s draft.

The Senior Bowl is behind us and the Super Bowl is under a week away. That also means we are single digit days away (nine) from the deadline (Feb 15) for either trading or cutting Derek Carr.

That move is inevitable, so it should not affect the mock drafts. I say *should* not because some mock drafters may be waiting for it to actually happen before they change their prediction.

As it stands now, here are 27 mock drafts from across the internet.
