New York City FC (-118) is favored in this one, but it’s a curious line considering it has been blanked 1-0 in each of its first three matches this season. To make matters worse, Moralez went out in the opening match of the tourney with a quad injury and is out indefinitely.

A winning $10 wager on Orlando City SC (+310) to win outright nets a return profit of $31. A $10 wager on New York City FC (-118) to win would net a profit of just $8.47, while a Draw or Tie (+280) would fetch a $28 profit.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 2.5 (-154) has not been a frequent play in this tournament so far, and the only reason Orlando’s first match went over was the late-game heroics to sink Miami. Playing the Over in a match featuring a team with a goose egg in the “goals for” column is risky, but New York should finally find the back of the net against Orlando. Plus, OCSC showed it has a little bit of offensive punch against Miami in last week’s opener.

Rust won’t be a friend to their offense.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 3.5 (-162) is a slam-dunk play here. Both sides played pretty strong defense in the first two matches, too. While we have seen 2.5 or more goals in each of the past three in this series, lean Under and lean hard.

Missing the El Tri star and reigning league MVP is a big deal, but Los Angeles still has Brian Rodriguez and Diego Rossi to pace the attack against a Houston defense which coughed up four goals last time out against Sporting Kansas City.

Unless Dynamo head coach Tab Ramos magically found some defense during the hiatus, it’s going to be another long match for his group.

A $10 wager on LAFC (-143) to win outright nets a profit of $7. A $10 wager on Houston Dynamo (+340) to pull the upset would fetch a profit of $34, while a Draw or Tie (+325) would mean a $32.50 profit.

They looked like a juggernaut early on, posting a 4-0 win over a beleaguered Houston side after an impressive 3-1 win over Vancouver in the March 1 opener. That’s good for a plus-6 goal differential after just two matches.

Right on their heels was Minnesota (+180), who has a healthy plus-5 goal differential, second only to KC. There are some concerns for Minnesota United, as Opara opted out of the tournament due to an unspecified injury, although it has been confirmed he did not test positive for coronavirus.

Add in the fact Kallman still has seven more games to serve out of his 10-game suspension, and the underdogs are a bit light in the defensive department. That’s not good against a blitzkrieg offense like KC.

A winning $10 wager on Sporting KC (+135) fetches a return of $13.50. A $10 play on Minnesota United FC (+180) would net a profit of $18, while a draw (+270) would return a $27 profit on a $10 wager.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 2.5 (-162) is a bit costly, but the way both of these teams scored goals in the early going of the season, it should be possible. Yes, we have had a long layoff, but just look to Saturday’s 4-0 drumming by Columbus against Cincinnati.

Even after a long layoff, some teams are picking up right where they left off. It won’t be a shootout, but three goals should be easily attainable.

A winning $10 wager on Atlanta (+115) nets a profit of $11.50. A $10 wager on New York (+225) would fetch a $22.50 profit if the Red Bulls were able to come through with a win.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 2.5 (-154) is a bit on the costly side, but it will be worth it in the end. That will tip the scales more in their favor in a match which should see plenty of action. TIE (+275) IS THE BEST BET. Also, if this match were to end up 2-2, betting that for the “Correct Score” returns a healthy +1150.

A winning $10 wager on Montreal and New England settling for a draw nets a profit of $27.50. A $10 wager on the Correct Score ending up 2-2 nets a profit of $111.50 – basically, every $1 wager that wins will profit $11.50.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 3.5 (+150) could be quite the value here. The Impact were averaging 2.0 goals per match before the pause, while allowing 1.5 goals per match. The Revs netted two total goals while also allowing 1.5 goals per match. While I expect some clubs to start slow in the bubble, these sides are relatively healthy and could get off to a quick start. Over 2.5 (-162) is a safer play, and will cost you a lot more juice, but should be a slam-dunk play as well.

A “Double Chance” bet taking Philadelphia or Tie (-176) might also be worth a small-unit wager if you’re just looking to dip your toe into the MLS betting pool and not get crazy until you get a bit of a preview.

UNDER 3.5 (-167) will cost you a bit of a pretty penny, and in normal times it might be a bit worrisome considering Philly’s lack of defense in the first two matches. However, we have a 9 a.m. ET start, as MLS scheduled games in the early morning or evening in Orlando to limit the exposure to the scorching hot Central Florida sun and weather issues. But teams might be a bit sluggish offensively, rolling out of bed and playing meaningful games. Look for a slow offensive start for both ends.

After a lengthy layoff due to the COVID-19 pandemic, expect a lot of “feeling out” early on, heavy legs and sloppy-set pieces. Each team might be able to find a marker, but a scoreless match wouldn’t be shocking here, either. TIE (+250) IS THE BEST BET. It might be a good small-unit play to take the “Double Chance” wager with Orlando City or Tie (-167).

The Earthquakes finished eighth in the Western Conference last season and just missed out on the playoffs with a record of 13-16-5, however they were 10-5-2 at home while Toronto FC was just 4-6-7 on the road.

San Jose earned a 2-1 victory in last year’s head-to-head meeting. Another factor in favor of the home side: It will be 61 degrees in San Jose Saturday, compared to just 26 degrees in Toronto.

Take the UNDER 2.5 (+130) with the notable absence of Piatti for TFC. There’s still plenty of talent on the Reds’ side of the ball with Alejandro Pozuelo, Jozy Altidore and Michael Bradley, but the Quakes are hoping for a playoff berth this season and will be able to get off to a strong start with a low-scoring game at home against the reigning Eastern Conference champs.
