New York Yankees at Milwaukee Brewers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s New York Yankees at Milwaukee Brewers odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The New York Yankees (17-9) take on the Milwaukee Brewers (16-8) Friday in the opener of a 3-game set at American Family Field at 8:10 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Yankees vs. Brewers odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: First meeting; Brewers won 2-1 last year

The Yanks dropped Thursday’s tilt 3-1 at home against the Oakland Athletics. They split the 4-game series and scored 1 total run in the 2 losses. The Yankees are 5-5 over their last 10 games. OF Aaron Judge has yet to find his stroke, hitting just .186 with 4 HRs and 13 RBIs.

The Brew Crew took the final 2 of a 4-game series in Pittsburgh. They won 7-5 Thursday and sit atop the NL Central. C William Contreras is tearing the cover off the ball, hitting .365 with 5 HRs and 22 RBIs.

Yankees at Brewers projected starters

RHP Luis Gil vs. RHP Colin Rea

Gil (1-1, 2.75 ERA) makes his 5th start. He has a 1.27 WHIP, 7.8 BB/9 and 13.3 K/9 in 19 2/3 IP.

  • Last start: Win, 5 2/3 IP, 0 ER, 2 H, 3 BB, 9 K Sunday against Tampa Bay Rays
  • Has never faced Milwaukee
  • Leads the league with 17 BB

Rea (2-0, 2.08 ERA) makes his 5th start. He has a 1.29 WHIP, 2.5 BB/9 and 5.8 K/9 in 21 2/3 IP.

  • Last start: No-decision, 5 IP, 0 ER, 5 H, 3 BB, 3 K Sunday against St. Louis Cardinals

Yankees at Brewers picks and predictions

Prediction

Yankees 6, Brewers 3

Moneyline

We have a clash between 2 very different pitchers. Gil, who has walked the ballpark, touches 97 on his fastball. He has a 2.94 FIP, which is fielding independent pitching and measures a pitcher’s ability to prevent homers, free passes and create strikeouts.

Rea will consistently be around 92, and despite having a 2.08 ERA, his FIP is 4.02. I look for the Yankees to jump on Rea. His 2.53 ERA against the Yanks looks great, but one start was in 2016.

Take the YANKEES -125.

Run line/Against the spread

The Brewers scored 7 runs Thursday, but they scored just 8 runs in the previous 4 games. While the Yankees are inconsistent offensively, they have plated 4+ runs in 6 of 10 games.

Take the YANKEES -1.5 (+135).

Over/Under

Rain is expected, which means the roof should be closed. Each team is 4-6 O/U over the last 10 games. In 3 games in this park in late 2022, we had totals of 20, 5 and 13.

I’ll take the OVER 8.5 (-115).

Milwaukee Brewers at Pittsburgh Pirates odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Milwaukee Brewers at Pittsburgh Pirates odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Milwaukee Brewers (15-8) and Pittsburgh Pirates (13-12) meet for the finale of a 4-game series on Thursday. First pitch from PNC Park is slated for 12:35 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook‘s lines around the Brewers vs. Pirates odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Pirates lead 2-1

Milwaukee lost the 1st two games of this series (4-2 and 2-1) and then rebounded with a 3-2 triumph Wednesday. The Brewers are 5-2 across their last 7 games despite scoring 3 runs or less 6 times.

The Pirate offense has a similar stretch going: Pittsburgh has scored 2 runs or less in 7 of its last 8 games.

Brewers at Pirates projected starters

RHP Freddy Peralta vs. RHP Mitch Keller

Peralta (2-0, 1.90 ERA) is lined up for his 5th start. He has registered a 0.76 WHIP, 1.5 BB/9 and 12.6 K/9 in 23 2/3 IP.

  • Last outing: No-decision, 6 IP, 0 ER, 4 H, 2 BB, 7 K in 2-1 win at St. Louis Cardinals Friday
  • Career vs. Pirates: 2-1, 3.18 ERA (73 2/3 IP, 26 ER), 52 H, 24 BB, 86 K
  • Owns a 3.75 ERA across 150 career games

Keller (2-2, 4.80 ERA) is tabbed for his 6th start. He owns a 1.47 WHIP, 3.3 BB/9 and 7.5 K/9 in 30 IP.

  • Last outing: Loss, 6 IP, 4 ER, 5 H, 4 BB, 4 K in 4-2 loss vs. Boston Red Sox Saturday
  • Career vs. Brewers: 0-4, 6.23 ERA (30 1/3 IP, 21 ER), 36 H, 11 BB, 33 K

Brewers at Pirates picks and predictions

Prediction

Pirates 5, Brewers 4

Moneyline

PITTSBURGH (+102) is 5-2 across the last 7 series meetings.

Surface ERA numbers on both sides starters and bullpens diverge from expected figures in opposite ways, pointing to some value on the Pittsburgh side. And the career Peralta numbers against the Pirates are deceiving: per ESPN, current Pittsburgh bats own an aggregate .878 OPS against the veteran righty.

Keller owns a PNC ERA of 3.78 since 2022.

Peg the Pirates as a solid value in this matinee series finale. BACK THE PIRATES (+102).

Run line/Against the spread

PASS: Better value on the ML.

Over/Under

The Over has been a lean all week but has so far gone 0-3. The Over 7 (-112) is just a slight lean in this one: the strongest play is the Pittsburgh ML side.

Milwaukee Brewers at Pittsburgh Pirates odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Milwaukee Brewers at Pittsburgh Pirates odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Milwaukee Brewers (14-8) and Pittsburgh Pirates (13-11) meet Wednesday in the 3rd contest of a 4-game series. First pitch from PNC Park is slated for 6:40 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook‘s lines around the Brewers vs. Pirates odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Pirates lead 2-0

In Monday’s series opener, the Brewers put just 3 runners in scoring position in a 4-2 loss. On Tuesday, they managed just 3 hits. Milwaukee has filed 4 runs or fewer in 7 of its last 8 games.

Pittsburgh snapped a 6-game losing streak with Monday’s victory. Its offense has also been slowed of late: the Pirates have the same 7-of-8 stretch when it comes to plating 3 runs.

Brewers at Pirates projected starters

RHP Bryse Wilson vs. LHP Josh Fleming

Wilson (2-0, 3.29 ERA) makes his 2nd start of the season. He has registered a 0.88 WHIP, 1.3 BB/9 and 7.9 K/9 in 13 2/3 innings.

  • Made his last appearance Saturday, going 1 1/3 innings in relief; made his lone start this season April 17
  • Career vs. Pirates: 2-0, 2.40 ERA (15 IP, 4 ER), 15 H, 5 BB, 13 K in 2 starts and 3 relief appearances

Fleming (1-0, 1.74) is a member of the Pittsburgh bullpen being called on as an opener. He has logged a 1.06 WHIP, 2.6 BB/9 and 6.1 K/9 in 10 1/3 innings.

  • Making his 1st start of the 2024 season; owns a 6.10 ERA over 22 career starts (vs. a 3.57 ERA as a reliever)
  • Last pitched Sunday, going 1 inning in relief
  • Has never faced Brewers before

  • Over/Under (O/U): 9 (O: -102 | U: -120)

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3012″ ]

Brewers at Pirates picks and predictions

Prediction

Pirates 6, Brewers 4

Moneyline

PITTSBURGH (-120) is 5-1 across the last 6 series meetings.

This one is in the hands of the bullpens. Milwaukee’s (+102) 3.00 surface ERA ranks 7th in MLB; the Pirates’ 4.37 ERA ranks 21st. But the expected-ERA numbers, accounting for quality of contact, are very similar.

Peg the Buccaneers as being undervalued.

BACK THE PIRATES (-120).

Run line/Against the spread

PASS: better value on the ML.

Over/Under

The Over has been a lean all week but has so far gone 0-2. There are some clutch failings of late which are tamping down the batting numbers on both sides. The Pirates are 5 for their last 44 (.114) with runners in scoring position; the Brewers are 0 for 7 in this series.

A pitcher’s breeze is in Wednesday’s forecast, but the OVER 9 (-110) is still a lean.

Milwaukee Brewers at Pittsburgh Pirates odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Milwaukee Brewers at Pittsburgh Pirates odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Milwaukee Brewers (14-7) and Pittsburgh Pirates (12-11) meet Tuesday for the 2nd game a 4-game series. First pitch from PNC Park is set for 6:40 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook‘s lines around the Brewers vs. Pirates odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Pirates lead 1-0

The Brewers put just 3 runners in scoring position in a 4-2 loss in Monday’s series lid-lifter. The loss snapped a 4-game winning streak.

Pittsburgh snapped a 6-game losing streak with Monday’s victory. The Bucs’ 4 runs Monday marked their most in a single game since April 14.

Brewers at Pirates projected starters

Undecided vs. LHP Bailey Falter

Today’s slot was ticketed for LHP Wade Miley, who recently went on the 15-day IL with an elbow issue. RHP Tobias Myers is a possibility for making this start. Myers is a 25-year-old who would be making his major-league debut.

Falter (1-1, 4.05 ERA) makes his 5th start. He has registered a 0.95 WHIP, 2.3 BB/9 and 4.5 K/9 in 20 innings.

  • Last start: Loss, 5 IP, 2 ER, 4 H, 1 BB, 4 K in 9-1 loss at New York Mets Wednesday
  • Career vs. Brewers: 0-0, 1.17 ERA (7 2/3 IP, 1 ER), 7 H, 1 BB, 5 K in 1 start and 1 relief appearance
  • Owns a 4.70 ERA across 218 1/3 career innings

  • Run line (RL)/Against the spread (ATS): Brewers -1.5 (+155) | Pirates +1.5 (-188)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 8.5 (O: -105 | U: -115)

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3012″ ]

Brewers at Pirates picks and predictions

Prediction

Pirates 5, Brewers 4

Moneyline

PITTSBURGH (-110) is 4-1 across the last 5 series meetings.

Milwaukee (-106) has scored 2 runs or fewer in 4 of its last 5 games. If Myers is tabbed for the start, that’s a hurler who owns a 5.63 ERA over his last 56 minor-league games.

Figure on the bullpens being much involved in this one and that the Pittsburgh side of that equation, while being the lesser unit, offers some hidden value.

BACK THE PIRATES (-110).

Run line/Against the spread

PASS: better value on the ML.

Over/Under

The total has gone Over in 10 of Milwaukee’s last 14 games. The total has gone Over in 8 of the Brewers’ last 10 games when playing on the road at Pittsburgh.

Strength-of-schedule wise, both clubs have faced tougher-than-average pitching. The Over is the likable side here. Consider a partial-unit play on the OVER 8.5 (-105) and a fully-vested play if the price gets to even money.

Milwaukee Brewers at Pittsburgh Pirates odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Milwaukee Brewers at Pittsburgh Pirates odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Milwaukee Brewers (14-6) and Pittsburgh Pirates (11-11) open a 4-game series in Western Pennsylvania with 1st pitch in Monday’s lid-lifter set for 6:40 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Brewers vs. Pirates odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: First meeting; Milwaukee won last year’s series 8-5

The Brewers head to Pittsburgh fresh off a 3-game sweep at the St. Louis Cardinals. Despite ranking 2nd in the league in scoring (5.89 runs per game), Milwaukee has scored 2 runs or less in 3 of its last 4 games. The Brewers won all 3 of those low-output contests and tote a 4-game win streak into this series.

Pittsburgh has also filed some low-scoring games of late, but the Pirates have been losing them. The Pirates lost 3 in a row to the Boston Red Sox over the weekend, plating just 4 runs along the way. Pittsburgh has scored just 1.50 RPH in going 0-6 since April 15.

Brewers at Pirates projected starters

RHP Joe Ross vs. RHP Jared Jones

Ross (1-1, 4.91 ERA) makes his 4th start. He has a 1.64 WHIP, 4.9 BB/9 and 8.6 K/9 in 14 2/3 IP.

  • Last outing: Loss, 4 2/3 IP, 6 ER, 9 H, 2 BB, 4 K in 7-3 loss vs. San Diego Padres last Monday
  • Career vs. Pirates: 1-1, 2.33 ERA (19 1/3 IP, 5 ER), 19 H, 3 BB, 24 K in 4 starts

Jones (1-2, 3.13 ERA) is tabbed for his 4th start. He owns a 0.78 WHIP, 0.8 BB/9 and 12.5 K/9 in 23 IP.

  • Last outing: No-decision, 5 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 0 BB, 7 K in 3-1 loss at New York Mets Tuesday
  • The 22-year-old rookie is facing the Brewers for the 1st time
  • Has not filed a walk since his March 30 MLB debut and has posted 14-or-more swinging strikes in each start

Brewers at Pirates picks and predictions

Prediction

Pirates 5, Brewers 4

Moneyline

Pittsburgh is 3-1 across the last 4 series meetings.

Pitching is the great equalizer, but streaks losing streaks are often tough to get into going against the grain.

Figure the PIRATES -130 being a small-value play; consider a partial unit for this wager.

Run line/Against the spread

PASS: Better value on the ML.

Over/Under

The total has gone Over in 10 of Milwaukee’s last 13 games. The total has gone Over in 8 of the Brewers’ last 9 games when playing on the road at Pittsburgh.

Strength-of-schedule-wise, both clubs have faced tougher-than-average pitching.

Of late, the Pittsburgh offense has been hemmed in by poor clutch hitting performances. The Milwaukee bullpen has posted good early-season numbers but has been helped along by a .237 batting average on balls in play.

The weather forecast calls for an outward-blowing breeze, and there is moderate value on the OVER 7.5 (-118); that’s a price available on FanDuel Sportsbook.

Milwaukee Brewers at Cincinnati Reds odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Milwaukee Brewers at Cincinnati Reds odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Milwaukee Brewers (8-3) and Cincinnati Reds (6-6) wrap up a 4-game series at Great American Ball Park Thursday. First pitch is set for 1:10 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Brewers vs. Reds odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Brewers lead 2-1

After a rain delay for about an hour and a half, the Brewers came out hot and won 7-2 Thursday. They have won 2 straight and scored at least 8 runs in all 3 games against Cincinnati. Milwaukee is 5-1 straight up on the road and 7-4 against the spread (ATS) on the season. It has won 3 of its last 4.

The Reds kicked the series off with a thrilling 10-8 win Monday but have struggled to limit Milwaukee since. They have lost 3 of their last 4 and 4 of their last 6. Cincinnati is 5-7 ATS on the season. The Reds are 4-5 straight up at home.

Brewers at Reds projected starters

RHP Freddy Peralta vs. RHP Nick Martinez

Peralta (1-0, 3.09 ERA) makes his 3rd start. He has a 0.60 WHIP, 1.5 BB/9 and 11.6 K/9 in 11 2/3 innings.

  • Last start: No-decision, 5 2/3 IP, 3 ER, 4 H, 1 BB, 7 K in 6-5 home win vs. Seattle Mariners Friday
  • 2023 road splits: 5-6, 4.34 ERA (76 2/3 IP, 37 ER), 72 H, 29 BB, 83 K in 14 starts

Martinez (0-0, 7.20 ERA) makes his 3rd start. He has a 1.60 WHIP, 1.8 BB/9 and 8.1 K/9 in 10 innings.

  • Last start: No-decision, 5 IP, 5 ER, 8 H, 1 BB, 6 K in 9-6 home win vs. New York Mets Saturday

Brewers at Reds odds

Provided by FanDuel Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at 9:45 a.m. ET.

  • Moneyline (ML): Brewers -126 (bet $126 to win $100) | Reds +108 (bet $100 to win $108)
  • Run line (RL)/Against the spread (ATS): Brewers -1.5 (+126) | Reds +1.5 (-152)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 8.5 (O: -122 | U: +100)

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3012″ ]

Brewers at Reds picks and predictions

Prediction

Brewers 6, Reds 3

Moneyline

BET BREWERS (-126).

Milwaukee has historically been a tough team for Cincinnati, winning 10 of 13 games last season against a solid Reds roster. The Brewers have continued to dominate, scoring at least 7 runs in all 3 games. They have scored at least 6 in 5 of their last 6.

Milwaukee is 2-0 in games which Peralta has started as well. After winning 4 of their 1st 6, the Reds have lost 4 of their last 6 and have allowed at least 5 runs in both games that Martinez has started. Cincinnati is struggling, while Milwaukee is surging.

Back BREWERS (-126).

Run line/Against the spread

PASS.

The spread for the red-hot Brewers does have some value, but at these odds, the moneyline is the better the play.

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 8.5 (-122).

Both teams have hit the Over consistently this season. The Reds are 9-3 O/U and have gone Over in 4 of their last 5 games, scoring at least 5 runs in 3 of those and allowing at least 6 in 4.

The Brewers have gone Over in 4 straight and in 6 of their last 7, allowing at least 5 in 4 of their last 6. The Reds are 2-0 O/U in games Martinez has started, while the Brewers are 1-1 in games Peralta has started.

Considering those trends, back OVER 8.5 (-122).

Milwaukee Brewers at Cincinnati Reds odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Milwaukee Brewers at Cincinnati Reds odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Milwaukee Brewers (7-3) and Cincinnati Reds (6-5) meet for game 3 of a 4-game series Wednesday. First pitch from Great American Ball Park is set for 6:40 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Brewers vs. Reds odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Tied 1-1

Milwaukee picked up a 9-5 win Tuesday as a +118 road underdog to even the series. RHP Joe Ross was credited with the win, allowing 2 earned runs on 5 hits and a walk, while striking out 7 in 6 1/3 innings. LF Christian Yelich (2-for-4) and CF Black Perkins (3-for-5, 2 runs) knocked in 3 runs apiece, while RF Sal Frelick went 3-for-4 with 2 runs and an RBI.

The Brewers led 9-1 after 6½ innings before the Reds plated 2 in the 7th and 2 in the 8th to cut the defice to 9-5. But Milwaukee’s lead proved to be too much for the Reds to overcome late in the ball game.

Brewers at Reds projected starters

LHP Wade Miley vs. RHP Hunter Greene

This will be Miley’s 1st start of the season. The former Red went 9-4 with a 3.14 ERA in 23 starts for the Brewers in 2023. He had a 1.14 WHIP, 2.8 BB/9 and 5.9 K/9 across 120 1/3 IP.

  • 2023 road splits: 4-2, 2.65 ERA (54 1/3 IP, 16 ER), 40 H, 18 BB, 37 K in 11 starts
  • Career vs. Reds: 7-3, 2.86 ERA (78 2/3 IP, 25 ER), 67 H, 24 BB, 75 K across 13 starts and 1 relief appearance

Greene (0-0, 2.53 ERA) makes his 3rd start this season. He has a 1.22 WHIP, 4.2 BB/9 and 11.0 K/9 in 10 2/3 innings.

  • Last start: No-decision, 6 IP, 1 ER, 3 H, 1 BB, 6 K in a 3-2 Reds loss vs. the New York Mets Friday
  • Career vs. Brewers: 0-3, 8.00 ERA (18 IP, 16 ER), 19 H, 10 BB, 27 K in 4 starts

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3012″ ]

Brewers at Reds picks and predictions

Prediction

Brewers 6, Reds 4

Moneyline

BET BREWERS (+116).

Milwaukee has won 2 of its last 3 games vs. Cincinnati dating back to last season and is 6-3 in the last 9 vs. the Reds. They are also 7-2 in their last 9 visits to Cincinnati. Plus, they are 2-1 in its last 3 games overall and 4-1 on the road so far this season.

Run line/Against the spread

PASS.

I expect the Brewers +1.5 (-182) to cover here, but they are not worth the risk of betting on with the line being this heavy. Bet on the moneyline and/or the Over/Under.

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 9 (-108).

The Over has hit in 3 consecutive games for the Brewers and is 5-1 in their last 6 overall. For the Reds, the Over has hit in back-to-back games and is 3-1 in their last 4.

This is only a lean because the Under is 7-3 in the last 10 Milwaukee-Cincinnati matchups.

Milwaukee Brewers at Cincinnati Reds odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Milwaukee Brewers at Cincinnati Reds odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Cincinnati Reds (5-4) welcome the Milwaukee Brewers (6-2) to Great American Ball Park Monday. First pitch to kick off the 4-game series is set for 6:40 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Brewers vs. Reds odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: First meeting; Brewers won 10-3 last season

The Reds lost to the New York Mets 3-1 at home Sunday, marking their 1st series loss this season. They lost 2 of 3 outright against the Mets and are 3-3 straight up at home. Cincinnati is 4-5 against the spread (ATS) this season.

The Brewers beat the Seattle Mariners 12-4 to close their home series Sunday, winning 2 of 3. Milwaukee is 3-0 straight up and ATS on the road, having swept the Mets in 3 straight to start the season.

Brewers at Reds projected starters

LHP Aaron Ashby vs. RHP Graham Ashcraft

Ashby (2-10, 4.44 ERA) made 27 starts in 2022, not taking the mound in 2023. He had a 1.42 WHIP, 3.9 BB/9 and 10.6 K/9 in 107 1/3 innings.

  • 2022 road splits: 1-7, 5.03 ERA (68 IP, 38 ER), 76 H, 33 BB, 82 K in 12 starts and 5 relief appearances
  • Career vs. Cincinnati: 0-1, 5.19 ERA (8 2/3 IP, 5 ER), 7 H, 7 BB, 8 K in 1 start and 2 relief appearances

Ashcraft (0-1, 3.00 ERA) makes his 2nd start. He allowed 3 R (2 ER) on 4 H and 1 BB with 5 K in 6 IP in his debut at the Philadephia Phillies Tuesday.

  • 2023 home splits: 3-8, 5.60 ERA (82 IP, 51 ER), 83 H, 29 BB, 58 K in 15 starts

Brewers at Reds odds

  • Moneyline (ML): Brewers -108 (bet $108 to win $100) | Reds -108 (bet $108 to win $100)
  • Run line (RL)/Against the spread (ATS): Brewers -1.5 (+150) | Reds +1.5 (-182)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 9 (O: -114 | U: -106)

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3012″ ]

Brewers at Reds picks and predictions

Prediction

Reds 6, Brewers 4

Moneyline

BET REDS (-108).

Given Ashby hasn’t pitched in over a year, it is difficult to trust him on the road against a Reds offense that has scored at least 6 runs in 4 of 9 games this season, with 3 of those 4 times coming at Great American.

While Ashcraft wasn’t stellar in his lone start, the bullpen is what let Cincinnati down. The Reds have been better also of late, allowing 3 or fewer runs in 3 of their last 4 games.

The Reds should have the pitching advantage, and that will matter, as both offenses have been strong to start the season. Take REDS (-108).

Run line/Against the spread

PASS.

There isn’t any value on the spread. The Reds are too expensive as run-line underdogs, while the Brewers don’t have much value as plus-money run-line favorites.

Regardless of who one likes, play the moneyline here.

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 9 (-114).

Both teams have dynamic offenses and don’t have their aces on the mound. The Brewers have scored at least 6 in 2 of their last 3 and have gone Over in 3 of their last 4. Milwaukee is 4-4 O/U on the season.

The Reds are 6-3 O/U and are 4-2 O/U at home. They have scored at least 6 runs in 4 of 6 home games while allowing at least 5 in 3 of those 6. Expect a high-scoring game, and take OVER 9 (-114).

Milwaukee Brewers at New York Mets odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Milwaukee Brewers at New York Mets odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Milwaukee Brewers (1-0) and New York Mets (0-1) play the 2nd game of a 3-game set Saturday at Citi Field. First pitch is set for 1:40 p.m. ET (MLB Network). Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Brewers vs. Mets odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Brewers lead 1-0

The Brewers won the NL Central last season with a 92-70 record, going 43-38 on the road. After having their 1st game postponed, they started the 2024 season just how they finished 2023. Milwaukee kicked off the season hot with a 3-1 win over the Mets behind the stellar play of RHP Freddy Peralta.

The Mets, who finished 4th in the NL East a season ago with a 75-87 record, ended the 2023 season with a 43-38 home record. They failed to do much of anything offensively on Opening Day as they ended with a single hit, a home run from RF Starling Marte. With the No. 1 payroll in MLB, expectations are high for New York entering 2024.

Brewers at Mets projected starters

LHP DL Hall vs. RHP Luis Severino

Hall (3-0, 3.26 ERA in 2023) made 18 relief appearances last season for the Baltimore Orioles. He had a 1.19 WHIP, 2.3 BB/9 and 10.7 K/9 in 19 1/3 innings.

  • 2023 road stats: 1-0, 3.38 ERA (10 2/3 IP, 4 ER) in 9 relief appearances
  • Has yet to face New York in his career
  • His team is 5-3 when he goes for more than 1 IP

Severino (4-8, 6.65 ERA in 2023) made 18 starts and 1 relief appearance last season for the New York Yankees. He had a 1.65 WHIP, 3.4 BB/9 and 8 K/9 in 89 1/3 innings.

  • 2023 home stats: 3-2, 4.87 ERA (40 2/3 IP, 22 ER) in 8 starts
  • 2023 vs. Brewers: No-decision, 4 IP, 2 ER, 4 H, 1 BB, 5 K in 1 start, an 8-2 home loss Sept. 8 with the Yankees
  • Owned a 4-1 record when hitting at least 6 IP

  • Run line (RL)/Against the spread (ATS): Brewers +1.5 (-194) | Mets -1.5 (+160)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 7.5 (O: -115 | U: -105)

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3012″ ]

Brewers at Mets picks and predictions

Prediction

Brewers 5, Mets 3

Moneyline

BET BREWERS (+106).

The Brewers clearly are going to rely heavily on their relief pitching, but that would’ve been a good strategy last year and should be a good one again. Milwaukee had the 2nd-best reliever ERA (3.40) a season ago. For Serevino, he’s coming off 1 of his worst professional seasons, as he had a career-high 6.65 ERA.

Considering the difference in pitching and that New York was able to get so little going offensively in its 1st game, take the road side here and back BREWERS (+106).

Run line/Against the spread

PASS.

There’s not great value on the spread, as the Brewers are far too expensive, while the Mets are too risky. Ultimately, play the moneyline regardless.

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 7.5 (-115).

The Mets have too much firepower to stay down for too long. Marte, SS Francisco Lindor and 1B Pete Alonso should be able to help New York generate some offense, and they won’t be going against a starter as good as Peralta either.

With the pitching not quite as good as it was on Opening Day, expect more runs here, and with a total as low as this, take the OVER 7.5 (-115) for a small unit.
