Continuing Mel Tucker’s theme of offering some of the top prospects around the country, on Wednesday it was announced that Michigan State Football has offered 2022 4-star pass rusher KJ Miles (Keith Miles Jr.) a scholarship.

Miles, who can play multiple positions on the defensive line, as well as some offensive tackle, is the No. 9 ranked weak side defensive end in the 2022 class according to the 247Sports rankings. They also have him ranked as the No. 4 player in the state of New Jersey for his class.

To the surprise of no one, Miles, who currently plays for St. Peters Prep, has offers out from the likes of Alabama, Michigan, Notre Dame, Penn State, Baylor, Tennessee, and many more, so this is another big swing from Tucker on the recruiting trail.

MSU Football players, recruits chime in on recruitment of 4-star Jamari Buddin

Jamari Buddin pondered a future with Michigan State on Wednesday and a few players, both active and recruits weighed in.

[jwplayer gcEn4Lgq]

Jamari Buddin is, undoubtedly, one of the best recruiting prospects in the state of Michigan. A month ago, the Belleville, Michigan prospect placed Michigan State Football in his top-7 choices for his recruitment, getting MSU fans, players, and recruits excited about the potential to add a player who would be one of the prize-jewels of the MSU 2021 recruiting class. Today, Buddin posted a tweet pondering a future with the Spartans and a few active players from different backgrounds chimed in on Buddin’s potential commitment to the Spartans.

Here is Buddin’s initial tweet:

First we have Devontae Dobbs, MSU’s offensive lineman who will be entering his second season with the Spartans:

Next is Charles Brantley, the 4-star corner who committed to the Spartans at the end of April:

And here we have Andrel Anthony Jr., another one of the top prospects in Michigan who has yet to commit to a program. Anthony plays for East Lansing High School and has MSU in his top-10 for recruitment:

There is a lot of excitement around Buddin’s recruitment, and for good reason, as the outside linebacker is a clear top-10 player in the state of Michigan for his recruiting class and would be a major recruiting win for the Spartans.

If you have been paying attention to Michigan State Football’s recruiting efforts, you have probably notice that business has picked up considerably in the past few weeks. The Spartans now have ten recruits committed for their 2021 recruiting class, the first of Mel Tucker’s time with the team, and every player has at least been a 3-star. It looks like MSU might land the services of another 3-star recruit soon, as outside linebacker Tyler McLaurin has placed the Spartans in his final five for recruiting.

McLaurin’s final five are:

  • Michigan State
  • Michigan
  • Iowa State
  • Texas Tech
  • Nebraska

McLaurin is the No. 9 ranked player in Illinois per the 247sports composite rankings and their No. 26 ranked outside linebacker. And, in case you were wondering, he is 6-foot-2, which would make yet another player over 6-feet-tall in the class, something many fans have started to chuckle about as Tucker seems to be focused on bringing length and size into the fold.
