Detroit Tigers claim former Michigan State baseball P Anthony Misiewicz

The Detroit Tigers have acquired former MSU LHP Anthony Misiewicz

Former Michigan State pitcher Anthony Misiewicz has carved out a very nice MLB career for himself as a left handed relief pitcher. He has spent the past four seasons pitching for the Seattle Mariners, Kansas City Royals and Arizona Diamondbacks. He has pitched in 126 games over those seasons.

After battling some injury problems in Arizona this season, the Diamondbacks designated Misiewicz for assignment, and the Tigers jumped on the opportunity to get the lefty from Anchor Bay.

Misiewicz will start in Toledo, but look for him to make the move back up to the majors soon.
