Kendall Rogers of D1Baseball ranks pair of Texas A&M transfers in top 5 with rave reviews

“As if the Aggies needed more big-time bats in their lineup for the upcoming season, Henseler is another big-time playmaker at the plate.”

The Texas A&M baseball team will be on a revenge tour in 2025 and head coach Michael Earley has loaded up in the NCAA Transfer Portal.

Two of Earley’s additions have caught the attention of many, including Kendall Rogers from D1Baseball. On his “Top 50 Impact Transfer Hitters” list, Rogers ranked two Aggie seniors in the top five.

Third baseman Wyatt Henseler was slotted at No. 3 in the countdown.

“As if the Aggies needed more big-time bats in their lineup for the upcoming season, Henseler is yet another big-time playmaker at the plate,” Rogers stated. “The first thing that stood out about Henseler this fall was his physical 6-foot-1, 210-pound frame. He certainly looks stronger than the measurables would suggest.

“Henseler is coming off four decorated seasons with the Quakers. He hit .365 and .385, respectively, his first two seasons before hitting .321 and then .360 his final two seasons at Penn. Henseler hit 14 or more home runs in each of his final three seasons while also accumulating more than 50 RBI in each of those campaigns as well.”

First baseman Gavin Kash was ranked fifth.

“It’s a one-scrimmage sample size, but Kash, a 6-foot-3, 210-pound, left-handed hitter, looked more like his old self in the Aggies’ scrimmage against Houston earlier this fall,” Rogers wrote. “Kash had a monster 2023 campaign at Texas Tech, hitting .326 with 26 home runs and 84 RBI.

“He also had strong power production for the Red Raiders last season, hitting 17 doubles, 15 home runs and knocking in 51 runs.”

Texas A&M will begin the regular season with a three-game series versus Elon at Blue Bell Park, beginning Valentine’s Day at 6 p.m.

Where does the Texas A&M baseball’s 2025 class rank on signing day

Check out where the Texas A&M baseball team was ranked in the Baseball America rankings after National Signing Day

National Signing Day wrapped up on Wednesday for multiple sports, and college baseball rankings are starting to drop. After a monster 2024 season and a controversial coaching change, Texas A&M was able to pull in a top-10 2025 recruiting class.

Like most rankings, the SEC holds a majority of the top spots. In Baseball America rankings seven of the ten are SEC teams and one through six are all SEC teams. The Aggies is right in the middle with the No. 5 behind 2024 College World Series Champion Tennessee who came in at No. 4. There are a few caveats regarding these rankings.

The first is that there are still a few of the top recruits that have not signed yet. While that’s simple enough the more interesting issue is the MLB draft, and which players make it on campus or not. But for now, you can view the rankings as of Nov 13 below.

  1. LSU Tigers
  2. Texas Longhorns
  3. Vanderbilt Commodores
  4. Tennessee Vols
  5. Texas A&M Aggies
  6. Mississippi State Bulldogs
  7. Virginia Cavaliers
  8. Wake Forest Demon Deacons
  9. Ole Miss Rebels
  10. Oklahoma State Cowboys

2026 INF/P Harper Gates has committed to Texas A&M baseball

Texas A&M baseball earns commitment from a talented 2026 infielder out of Tomball, TX

Texas A&M baseball head coach Michael Earley continues to roll on the recruiting trail, gaining another commitment from another top player in Texas. On Tuesday, infielder Harper Gates, out of Tomball, TX, announced via social media that he will join the Aggies in Bryan, College Station.

Gates, like his teammate Catcher Hopkins, who recently committed, is one of the top players in Texas who can do a little bit of everything. He’s a capable pitcher with a high 80s fastball and a solid glove in the infield. He has the frame to add weight at 6’4″ and 175 pounds, and his power at the plate is just reaching its early potential.

If most of the 2025 and 2026 classes make it on campus, this will be one of the deepest Texas A&M rosters we have seen in a while. Gates is another one of those pieces that utility guys that will give the coaching staff plenty of lineup options and competition to keep the team sharp.

Texas A&M baseball’s 2025 non-conference has been revealed

Here are the dates and times for every non-conference game on Texas A&M 2025 baseball schedule

Texas A&M’s 2025 baseball season is getting closer and closer. New head coach Michael Earley inherited the program after serving as the hitting coach under former head coach Jim Schlossnagle. He is now with the Texas Longhorns after his disastrous transition this summer.

While Schlossnagle and the Aggies are officially old news, excitement is back in College Station ahead of Earley’s first season with a stacked roster after nearly every starter outside of closer Evan Aschenbeck has returned, including star hitters Jace LaViolette and Gavin Grahovic.

After two exhibition games, the returners are looking solid. Still, the newcomers to the roster, including former Texas Tech infielder Gavin Kash, have made an impact at the plate, while several new faces on the mound, including former Long Beach State P Myles Patton, have looked the part.

Before entering SEC play, Texas A&M will open the season with four consecutive home games vs. Elon, McNeese, Cal Poly, and Texas State before heading to Houston to play in the Astros Foundation College Classic, starting with facing Arizona on February 28th.

Here is the rest of the non-conference schedule:

Former 12th Man returns to Texas A&M baseball team to join Michael Earley’s coaching staff

Texas A&M has hired a former player who played 181 games as an Aggie and was bestowed with the honor of wearing the sacred No. 12 jersey.

The Texas A&M baseball program has hired a former player who played 181 games as an Aggie and was bestowed with the honor of wearing the sacred No. 12 jersey.

According to TexAgs analyst Ryan Brauninger, Ryan Targac is returning to the team as an assistant in strength & conditioning under Jeremy McMillan once he finishes his degree.

Targac was chosen to be the 12th Man during his senior year in 2024.

“Being named No. 12 is such an honor to me,” Targac stated in January. “To be able to represent Texas A&M and what it stands for is such a privilege. I wouldn’t be in this position if it weren’t for God, my family, coaches and teammates. The work still continues though. I will continue to show up and be the best version of myself and to serve others.”

The versatile second baseman was selected to the All-SEC second team in 2022 and chosen for the 2023 preseason All-SEC second team.

2025 RHP/SS Nico Partida has committed to Texas A&M

Texas A&M baseball earns commitment from top RHP/SS out of Pearland, TX

New Texas A&M head baseball coach Michael Earley continues to stack talent in the 2025 class. On Thursday evening, pitcher/shortstop Nico Partida, out of Pearland, Texas, will join the Aggies following his senior year.

Partida is a flamethrower who tops out near the mid-to-high 90s with his fastball and can also hit the ball with the best of them. A case in point is his performance while playing with the U-18 USA Baseball team.

“Partida went 2-0 on the mound with a 0.00 ERA and 12 strikeouts in 8 IP allowing only 1 hit. Partida also finished hitting .308 for Team USA including going 2 for 4 in the gold medal game!”

According to Prep Baseball Texas, Partida is currently ranked as the No. 4 player in Texas. This makes him the fourth Aggie commit in the class to be ranked in the top ten, right behind Johnny Slawinski, who is ranked No. 3.

There is no denying that the Aggie staff, led by Earley, is off to an amazing start with this class. If they all make it to Aggieland next fall, the future roster will have one of the best young rosters in the nation to work with for several years.

One of Texas A&M baseball’s top 2025 prospects has decommitted from the program

Javorski Lane Jr. will reportedly look at other options moving forward

After the debacle that was Jim Schlossnagle’s abrupt exit to take over the Texas Longhorns head coach position this summer, Aggie fans and those of us who cover the program knew that recruiting could take a hit, as several former Texas A&M 2025 commits have decommitted.

On Sunday, it was revealed that another Aggie commit has decommitted from the program. Javorskie Lane Jr., the son of former Texas A&M star running back Javorskie Lane, will explore other options going forward. No, this does not mean that he is automatically transferring to Texas.

Lane Jr. is one of the best athletes in the cycle. At the plate, Lane was one of the best hitters in the country during his 2023 junior season; the incoming senior hit for .591 in 34 plate appearances, recording  52 hits, 37 RBI, 51 runs, and eight home runs on the year.

Lane is a versatile player who can play in the infield and outfield at the next level. For Texas A&M head coach, Michael Earley, I expect he will keep in contact with Lane as he continues to make future visits.

2025 LHP Johnny Slawinski has committed to Texas A&M

Texas A&M baseball earns commitment from top LHP out of Johnson City, TX

Texas A&M baseball coaches Michael Earley and John Kelly continue to restock the shelf after receiving the news of another decommitment last week. On Wednesday morning, pitcher Johnny Slawinski, out of Johnson City, TX, announced via social media that he will take his 90+ fastball to Bryan, College Station.

Slawinski is a strikeout ace with one of the best strikeout rates in Texas and an arsenal of pitches. Over the summer, he was named the 17u WWBA MVP pitcher and invited to the 2024 Prep Baseball All-American Game as one of the nation’s top prospects.

The future Texas A&M bullpen looks strong once all of the recent commits make it to Aggieland. Slawinski is just the latest example of why the Aggies’ recent success in developing left-handed pitchers over the last decade has become a key, fruitful recruiting tactic.

Flatonia 2025 pitcher Titan Targac has decommitted from Texas A&M

Star 2025 pitcher reopens recruitment after decommitting from Texas A&M

You can’t win them all, and this is the time of year when we see many recruiting changes before National Signing Day. No one is really committed until papers are signed and the athlete shows up on campus with a class schedule.

On Tuesday night, 2025 pitcher Titan Targac announced via social media that he would be reopening his recruitment and de-committing from Texas A&M. Targac is a very talented strikeout machine who was named the MVP of the Victoria Advocate 2024 All-Area Baseball Team. The LHP and his 90+ mph fastball topped the 2024 Texas High School 2A strikeout leaders.

A decommitment is never fun news to hear, but it’s not the end of the world, and there is always time to re-recruit the player if both parties still have a mutual interest in each other. However, we hope Tragac has a great senior season and chooses a school that best fits his desire.

2026 OF/RHP J.D. Alexander has committed to Texas A&M

Texas A&M baseball lands commitment from top 2026 player out of Louisiana

It was a good week on the recruiting trail for the Texas A&M baseball program. On Saturday night, it got even better for head coach Michael Earley, landing the top ’26 out of Louisiana.

6′-3″ 195 J.D. Alexander, out of Barbe High School in Louisiana, announced via social media that he is taking his talent to Aggieland. The Lake Charles product is currently a top 50-ranked player in Prep Baseball’s 2026 class and still has a lot of room for growth.

Alexander is likely at the top of the list of most power programs as a must-follow as he is already instrumental in the success of perennial national power, Barbe HS, both at the plate and on the mound. Up to 89 mph from the right side with a commanding and competitive mound presence, the 6-foot-3, 185-pound right-hander is one of the top arms in the class. However, his left-handed stick might be even more impressive and projectable, and he is easily one of the top bats as well.
