2024 five-star WR Micah Hudson visits Texas

Texas is becoming a destination for top wide receivers like Micah Hudson.

The Forty Acres is a destination for top wide receivers. It appears Micah Hudson is taking notice.

Hudson, the No. 2 wide receiver and No. 6 overall player in the 247Sports composite for 2024, is taking in what Austin has to offer this weekend. This comes just after Georgia receiver transfer Adonai Mitchell chose the Longhorns.

It’s easy to see why big time pass catchers are enamored with playing in Steve Sarkisian’s scheme. Xavier Worthy and Ja’Tavion Sanders each had breakout seasons in their first full-time starting opportunities on campus. Some of their success can be attributed to an offense that leverages the full power of their skillsets.

Sarkisian is known for scheming receivers open and allowing them to get yards after catch in space. As for how he would utilize Hudson, the Longhorns’ offensive play caller may not have to do much scheming to get the elite talent open.

Hudson will be a matchup nightmare regardless of scheme, but playing for Texas certainly wouldn’t hurt his stock. Steve Sarkisian and company will look to make strides in his recruitment.

Texas set to host multiple top 2024 prospects this weekend

A star-studded group of prospects is going to be in Austin this weekend.

With most of the 2023 recruiting class all but wrapped up, Steve Sarkisian and Texas’ staff turn their attention to the 2024 cycle.

The Longhorns are set to host a plethora of top targets this weekend at the program’s annual junior day event. This weekend gives Texas an opportunity to start building relationships with some of the best high school players in the country.

Recruiting is an area where Sarkisian has prioritized and excelled in his tenure as Texas’ head man.

Texas signed two top-five classes in Sark’s first full recruiting cycles. His No. 3 ranked 2023 class is the highest-rated group Texas has signed since 2010 under Mack Brown.

Here is a look at a few of the top prospects expected to make the trip to Austin this weekend for Texas’ recruiting event, according to On3 Sports. Five-star running back Jerrick Gibson and five-star wide receiver Micah Hudson highlight the players coming in to visit.

Every wide receiver offered by the Oklahoma Sooners in the 2024 recruiting cycle

Who are the Oklahoma Sooners targeting at wide receiver in the 2024 recruiting cycle?

The wide receiver position at Oklahoma has provided some fantastic production over the years. Big-name players like Sterling Shepard, CeeDee Lamb, and Marquise Brown are still having success at the NFL level.

Marvin Mims is the latest player to breakout, recording the first 1,000-yard season of his career in 2022. Jalil Farooq didn’t have as big a season as Mims, but he became an integral part of the offense in both the pass and run games.

In the 2022 recruiting cycle, the Oklahoma Sooners signed two four-star talents like the towering Jayden Gibson and Nic Anderson. In 2023, Oklahoma added four-star prospects Jaquaize Pettaway and Keyon Brown to the wide receiver depth chart.

The Oklahoma Sooners will look to build off of the depth they’ve already created by adding to the talent in the 2024 recruiting class. They’ve already received predictions to land four-star speedster Mario Craver out of Alabama.

Though we’re still a long way from the 2024 early signing period, here are the wide receivers they’ve targeted thus far in the cycle.

Nebraska makes offers to three blue-chip 2024 recruits

The Nebraska Cornhuskers have made offers to three of the top players in the recruiting class of 2024.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers have made offers to three of the top players in the recruiting class of 2024.

On Wednesday, they extended an offer to Connally (Texas) five-star cornerback Kobe Black. He announced the news himself on Twitter.

Black (6-foot-0, 190 pounds) is ranked No. 2 among cornerbacks, No. 3 in the state of Texas and No. 20 overall in his class. He has 24 offers all together and Oklahoma State is the current favorite according to On3’s prediction model. Texas is the next-hottest candidate.

Nebraska also made an offer to Lake Belton (Texas) four-star cornerback Selman Bridges.

Bridges (6-foot-4, 170 pounds) has 10 offers to choose from and Arizona State is currently On3’s favorite. He is ranked No. 6 at his position, No. 11 in the state and No. 73 overall.

Husking corn is famously-hard work and they weren’t done yet.

Nebraska also extended an offer to Selman’s teammate, five-star wide receiver Micah Hudson.

Hudson (6-foot-0, 186 pounds) is ranked second among 2024 wide receivers and sixth overall in his class. He has 29 offers, including one from Alabama.

Nebraska has not yet gotten any commitments for this class under new head coach Matt Rhule, who comes to Lincoln by way of the Carolina Panthers – where he went 11-27 in three seasons before getting fired on October 10. Rhule has had much more success at the college level though, having built up previously bad programs at Temple and Baylor in just a few years.
