Knit hats? Long sleeves? Chilly weather has made these items popular at the American Express merchandise tent

Colder-than-normal temperatures have greeted patrons, particularly in the early mornings.

A knit cap has been a surprisingly popular item at this year’s American Express merchandise tent as colder-than-normal temperatures have greeted patrons, particularly in the early mornings.

It’s not all apparel and golf balls at the merchandise area, which is actually the year-round pro shop at PGA West. Shot glasses are an option as well.

The classic straw hat is a big seller. It is still the desert after all, and keeping that sun out of your face is a constant battle at the American Express.

Plenty of women’s apparel is available, including a fleece pullover that has been useful, again with the temps in the 60s this year instead of the traditional mid- to upper-70s.

Baseball caps are always available at PGA Tour events, and we can’t say the American Express logo is altogether exciting, but designers stayed true to their blue and white color scheme. The PGA West logo has the nice sun and mountains view, though.

And of course, it’s only fair that at this event a certain credit card will get you a discount.

Here’s a peek at some of the best items at this week’s store:

2023 Sony Open: Aloha to great caps and other goodies at the Waialae CC pro shop

The island vibes are high in Waialae’s pro shop this week.

HONOLULU —A good hat can be hard to find, but when you find one that fits your head just right and has a message that fits your persona, you don’t want to take it off.

This is my first visit to the Sony Open in Hawaii and I must say the cap game is strong at the Waialae Country Club pro shop this week. Some are simple and some are clever but they are among the best I’ve seen without copying another tournament and just putting its own spin on it. (Note to merchandise buyers: enough of the area code and zip code shirts and hats.)

There are other colorful shirts, cool belts and all the usual suspects in the Sony Open photo gallery. Check it all out below, and with no further adieu, here are my top three favorite caps at the Sony Open:

  1. The Waialae W of the iconic palm trees at 16
  2. The Shaka
  3. WAI why not?

Although Greg Norman is absent, the shark is ever-present in QBE Shootout merchandise tent

When walking through the QBE Shootout merchandise tent, there’s a common theme — the shark.

When walking through the QBE Shootout merchandise tent, there’s a common theme — the shark.

Sure, the tournament is played at Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Florida, which Greg Norman constructed. It was formerly called the Shark Shootout, and Norman was a big reason why the tournament started and has been going strong for years. Also, Tiburón in Spanish means shark.

Although Norman isn’t at the QBE Shootout, the shark logo is ever-present, especially in the merchandise tent.

There is no shortage of hats, shirts and flags for fans to get their hands on.

Here’s a look at some of the best merchandise from the 2022 QBE Shootout.

2022 Hero World Challenge merchandise is heavy on Tiger Woods and Nike

The gear in the merchandise shop, which is the club’s golf pro shop, is heavy with Nike products.

When Tiger Woods has felt the need to escape the rigors of competition, he’s headed to Albany Club, the luxury resort community on the southwestern end of the island and host of the Hero World Challenge this week.

This week, the gear in the merchandise shop, which is the club’s golf pro shop, is heavy with Nike products. No surprise there.

You can get yourself a TW hat and plenty of tournament logo editions. Nothing out of the ordinary – lots of tournament flags, shirts and headcovers – but if you want to rep the logo of a club where Tiger parks his yacht, Privacy, and Adam Scott, Justin Rose and others have prepped for the Masters, this is your chance to get a casino chip ball marker for your collection.

At chilly RSM Classic, winter gear is flying off the shelves at the merchandise tent

Shoppers at the RSM Classic have been fighting over stylish ski caps, cashmere sweaters and puffy jackets.

ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Georgia – The merchandise shop at the RSM Classic was bustling on Thursday morning — and for good reason.

On an unseasonably cool day, it made for a safe reprieve from temperatures barely trickling into the 50s. As a result, shoppers were fighting over stylish ski caps, cashmere sweaters and puffy jackets.

The RSM merch is heavy on Peter Millar and Polo gear, which makes sense given the tournament’s ties to Davis Love III. There was one polo with the Georgia Bulldog logo that fans of the No. 1-ranked college football team were eyeing and a strong hat and belt game featuring multiple versions of the tourney logo.

Holiday shopping clearly was underway but the theme of the day for many of the buyers was staying warm. As one woman who was buying a winter hat noted, “This is for me and I’m going to wear it now.”

There’s of course gear for men and women. There’s also several items for kids.

On a shelf near the ceiling that rings the pro shop sit signed tour bags from PGA Tour and LPGA stars.

Photos: Team-themed gear floods 2022 LIV Golf Boston merchandise tent

If you’re in need of a ‘Crushers’ shirt, the merchandise tent in Boston has you covered.

BOLTON, Mass. — The LIV Golf Series is outside Boston this week for their fourth event. The breakaway league welcomed six new members in New England including world No. 2 Cameron Smith, Joaquin Niemann, Cameron Tringale, Harold Varner III, Marc Leishman and Anirban Lahiri.

The International is a New England gem and will play as a par 70 measuring just under 7,000 yards.

One of LIV Golf’s selling points is the team aspect of the competition, and the amount of squad-themed apparel in the merchandise shop reflects that.

Take a look at some of the items available in the merchandise tent at LIV Boston.

Photos: Best merchandise from the 2022 U.S. Open at The Country Club

The USGA didn’t mess around in Massachusetts this week. Here are some photos of some of the best U.S. Open merchandise.

The best players in the world have made the trip to New England for the 122nd U.S. Open at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts, just outside Boston.

With plenty of storylines entering the week — Jon Rahm vying for a second straight title, Rory McIlroy searching for his first major since 2014, and world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler going for his second major of 2022 — it’s been LIV Golf, unsurprisingly, dominating the headlines.

Hopefully, that all ends when play gets underway Thursday morning.

At a major championship, the merchandise is a token for all fans to bring home to remember their week at one of the biggest events of the year.

The USGA isn’t messing around in Massachusetts.

Here are some photos from inside the enormous merchandise tent at The Country Club.
