Rumored potential Bulls change could be best for front office

If Chicago Bulls GM Marc Eversley joins the Charlotte Hornets, would it help the Bulls’ front office?

Fans haven’t been too pleased with the Chicago Bulls over the past few seasons. After a string of all-in moves in 2021, the Bulls have failed to capitalize, and when things looked like they were going downhill, they stayed the course instead of resetting the roster. This year, for the third season in a row, they didn’t make any moves at the trade deadline.

Bulls fans are quick to point fingers at the front office, as Arturas Karnisovas has come out and said that he’s comfortable with where the team is. But could a rumored potential move be the fix that the front office needs?

According to Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times, Bulls GM Marc Eversley has been connected to a job with the Charlotte Hornets. The Chicago Bulls Central YouTube channel recently discussed whether or not that could be the switch-up Chicago’s front office needs.

If the move happens, would it help the Bulls?

Could Chicago GM Marc Eversley leave the Bulls for the Charlotte Hornets?

Eversley’s departure could cast a cloud over the Bulls’ offseason plans.

Could Chicago Bulls general manager Marc Eversley leave Chicago for the Charlotte Hornets’ open GM position? The rumbles you may have heard about such a possibility are more than just speculation. The Chicago Sun Times’ Joe Cowley reports that Eversley is among a field that includes New Orleans Pelicans GM Trajan Langdon, Brooklyn Nets assistant general manager Jeff Peterson, Cleveland Cavaliers GM Mike Gansey, and Philadelphia 76ers general manager Elton Brand.

This would not be the first time the Bulls GM has been tied to the job, with the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Keith Pompey reporting Eversley’s previous interest in the gig (h/t On Tap Sports’ Morris Bankston).

The lack of certainty regarding his future with the team may be part of why Chicago’s front office elected to stand pay for the third season in a row.

But Eversley’s departure could cast a cloud over the Bulls’ offseason plans as well, with his potential departure perhaps impacting the decisions of free agents like Andre Drummond and DeMar DeRozan.

Is Bulls general manager Marc Eversley seriously thinking about the top job in the Hornets’ front office?

Charlotte should be on the hunt for a new general manager. Could Eversley be their man?

Fans of the Chicago Bulls have every right to be irked with their favorite team’s front office not making moves to improve the storied ball club for the third NBA trade deadline in a row. But maybe there is a reason why the front office was not focused on making moves — one member of the team’s front office may be on their way out.

Is Bulls general manager Marc Eversley seriously thinking about leaving Chicago to take the top job in the Charlotte Hornets’ front office? With Hornets GM Mitch Kupchak having just transitioned into a different role with the organization, Charlotte should be on the hunt for a new general manager to take his place. Could Eversley be their man?

The hosts of the CHGO Sports “CHGO Bulls” podcast sat down to talk about the possibility of turnover in Chicago’s front office on a recent episode, as well as what it means for the Bulls’ future.

Bulls front office figure connected to conference rival’s GM job

A recent report linked a Chicago Bulls front office member to the newly-opened Charlotte Hornets GM job.

Though the fanbase may not be too pleased with the way the Chicago Bulls’ front office has run things for the past few seasons, other teams around the league could consider poaching someone from their group. Mitch Kupchack is stepping down as the head of basketball operations for the Charlotte Hornets, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, and they could consider looking to Chicago for answers.

Following Wojnarowski’s initial report of potential candidates for the job, Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times noted that Bulls GM Marc Eversley has been linked to the position and will likely be in consideration (at least a little bit).

Arturas Karnisovas has been the lead decision-maker in Chicago, and heading to the Hornets would allow Everlsey to take a bit of a step up in the front-office world.

“Bulls GM Marc Eversley has also been linked to this job, said a source. Expect him to at least get a sniff,” Cowley wrote in a tweet.

In a follow-up tweet about Eversely’s role in the front office, Cowley stated that “he is the right hand of the king more than people might know, but this king is still a solo act in the final hour of decision making.”

Can Arturas Karnisovas and Marc Eversley find success in the NBA draft for the Chicago Bulls?

Can AKME and company find the right players for the Bulls’ future plans?

Chicago Bulls front office execs Arturas Karnisovas and Marc Eversley have done a solid job finding talent within their organization. One such example is their most recent move to elevate reserve floor general Coby White to the team’s starting gig in the wake of an extended injury absence to star Bulls point guard Zach LaVine — and then sticking with White as a major part of the team’s rotation on his return to the fold.

But even so, AKME (as Karnisovas and Eversley are sometimes called) have yet to find success in the draft, forward Patrick Williams having been drafted by the duo’s predecessors. Can AKME and company find the right players for the Bulls’ future plans in the next several drafts?

This is the question explored by Haize, the host of the “Chicago Bulls Central” podcast on a recent episode.

Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear his thoughts on Chicago’s draft future under Eversley and Karnisovas.

Bulls GM Marc Eversley shares why he believes in Chicago’s veteran core

Chicago Bulls general manager Marc Eversley recently spoke about his team’s offseason and future during a visit to the Bulls Talk Podcast.

The 2023-24 season will be an important one for the Chicago Bulls. The team may have added a few key pieces over the summer, but it’s more or less the same core running it back this year. How the team performs could dictate what happens in the future for Chicago’s roster, one largely designed by current general manager Marc Eversley.

Eversley became GM for the Bulls in 2020, and has presided over some of the team’s biggest moves. He helped reel in DeMar DeRozan, Nikola Vucevic and Lonzo Ball. It’s been an ambitious era for Chicago, even if injuries and other concerns have prevented the club from making a deep postseason run. Consequently, there have been persistent rumors about what happens next for the Bulls.

For now, Eversley is focused on the present. He recently spoke to the folks at the “Bulls Talk” podcast about his team, how he feels about the latest roster additions and his belief in Chicago’s veteran players.

Bulls GM Marc Eversley on Lonzo’s knee: ‘All reports are good’

Per Eversley, Lonzo has been working out and rehabbing back home in Los Angeles.

Lonzo Ball’s first season in the Windy City didn’t necessarily go as planned, which makes this offseason important for the fifth-year guard out of UCLA.

Following Thursday night’s NBA draft, Bulls GM Marc Eversley spoke to the media about their selection of Dalen Terry along with Zach LaVine’s pending free agency and an update on Lonzo Ball’s knee injury.

“All reports are good,” Eversley said.

Ball underwent surgery in late-January to repair a small meniscus tear in his left knee, which forced him out for the remainder of the season after being unable to ramp up his rehab due to discomfort in his knee. Lonzo’s father, LaVar, felt that the Bulls ramped up Lonzo’s rehab too soon and were ‘training him the wrong way.’

Eversley followed up with stating that he ‘certainly hopes’ that Lonzo will be ready for training camp.
