Raiders CB Jack Jones is laying into Madden for their ‘garbage’ game ratings

Raiders CB Jack Jones is laying into Madden for their ‘garbage’ game ratings

Whether you think player ratings in Madden should matter to the actual players in the game, they do. Whether they let on about it or not, these ratings matter to them.

Some of the players are more vocal than others about it. And few players are as vocal about most things as Jack Jones is. The Raiders cornerback went in on Madden for some of their ratings this year.

He criticized the game for simply copying their ratings from previous years, playing favorites, and being all about which players are most popular rather than which players are most talented.

Jones’s Madden rating this year is a 74, which isn’t great. In fact, it puts 16 other Raiders players with higher rating than him, including rookies Brock Bowers and Jackson Powers-Johnson.

For further comparison sake, teammate Nate Hobbs has an 81 rating.

Steelers stars get the shaft in Madden NFL 25 launch ratings

Here is how the top Steelers rank in EA Sports Madden NFL 25.

EA Sports have trickled in all the launch ratings for Madden NFL 25 over the past week. Madden NFL 25 is set for a release date of August 16 and now we have a good look at how EA ranks the Pittsburgh Steelers in comparison to the rest of the NFL.

Spoiler: It’s not great. Only three Steelers ranked over 90 with EDGE T.J. Watt the highest with a 97.

Here is how the Top 12 Steelers stack up:

OLB T.J. Watt – 97

FS Minkah Fitzpatrick – 93

DE Cameron Heyward – 90

OLB Alex Highsmith – 89

MLB Patrick Queen – 85

WR George Pickens – 83

RB Najee Harris – 83

RB Jaylen Warren – 82

TE Pat Freiermuth – 82

K Chris Boswell – 81

G Isaac Seumalo – 81

CB Joey Porter Jr.  – 81

Not having Watt as one of the rare 99-rated players came as something of a surprise and seeing fellow LB Alex Highsmith just 8 points below him was just as shocking.

The Steelers offense was fairly well represented and seeing Harris and Warren with just one point separating them really highlights just how good the Steelers run game can be.

Pat Surtain reacts to his Madden rating: ‘I’mma get that 99 soon’

Broncos CB Pat Surtain has a 95 overall rating in Madden 25, making him the third-best CB in the game. He’s aiming to join the 99 Club next.

EA Sports released ratings for Madden NFL 25 earlier this week and Denver Broncos star cornerback Pat Surtain was given an overall rating of 95.

That’s a one-point increase from his rating last year as Surtain remains the third-highest-rated cornerback in the game, only trailing Sauce Gardner (97) and Jalen Ramsey (96).

The Broncos shared a video on their Twitter/X page on Thursday showing PS2’s reaction to his rating in the video game.

“Overall rating: 95. See, that’s a good start,” Surtain says in the video. “That’s a good start, Madden. That’s a good start. I’mma get that 99 soon. In due time, for sure. Trust it. Truss.”

Surtain is Denver’s highest-rated player by a wide margin, with guard Quinn Meinerz (87) left tackle Garett Bolles (85) and wide receiver Courtland Sutton (84) next in line. The team’s only other players above 79 overall are running back Javonte Williams (80) and right tackle Mike McGlinchey (80).

Madden NFL 25 will hit stores on Friday, Aug. 16. The game will be available on PlayStation, Xbox and PC platforms.

Madden ratings for former Georgia receivers in the NFL

Madden NFL 25 ratings for former Georgia Bulldogs wide receivers including Los Angeles Chargers rookie Ladd McConkey

Madden NFL 25 ratings are out for many former Georgia Bulldogs in the NFL. The Madden NFL 25 video game will be released on Aug. 15.

Every NFL team has returned to action for training camp in preparation for the regular season. Preseason action has already begun for the Houston Texans and Chicago Bears.

There are currently over 60 former Georgia Bulldogs in the NFL, which is enough to field an entire roster. Georgia has enough players at every position for an NFL team, but the Dawgs certainly have their weaknesses. One of Georgia’s weakest positions in the NFL is at wide receiver.

The Bulldogs have seven receivers in the NFL right now, but many of them are still developing. However, big things are expected out of Los Angeles Chargers rookie wide receiver Ladd McConkey.

Madden will continue to release more player rating throughout the week.

EA keeps rolling out their Madden 25 rating. Davante showed up among the top wide receivers last week. Today the EDGE players got their due and Maxx Crosby was among the top rated at the position.

Crosby has a 97 rating in Madden 25 which is tied for third best in the game along with Steelers EDGE TJ Watt.

Tied for the top score is Browns EDGE Myles Garrett and Micah Parsons of the Cowboys.

Six former Longhorns get their Madden running back ratings

What is Bijan’s rating for the upcoming Madden NFL 25 video game?

The NFL season will officially begin on Sept. 5 when former Texas Longhorns wide receiver Xavier Worthy will make his debut against the Baltimore Ravens and former kicker Justin Tucker.

Each offseason leading up to the start of the NFL preseason, EA Sports releases its launch ratings for players. With Madden NFL 25 set to release on Aug. 16, we continue to look at former players and their ratings. We have already seen the numbers for wide receivers and safeties, next up are the running backs. A position that the Texas Longhorns football program knows how to develop.

The current crop of running backs is led by the 2022 Doak Walker Award winner, Bijan Robinson.

Former Texas Longhorn running back’s Madden rating:

Bijan also has a speed rating of 91 and agility of 89 that will help you make defenders miss in the open field. Much as he was able to do when wearing the Burnt Orange.

Seahawks’ Kenneth Walker No. 8 running back in Madden 25 ratings

Seahawks’ Kenneth Walker No. 8 running back in Madden 25 ratings

As we inch closer to the return of football, with it simultaneously comes the return of the popular Madden franchise. The latest installment, Madden 25, comes in mid August. Of course, the hype for the game would not be complete without revealing the top ten players at each position group.

The Seattle Seahawks were snubbed for wide receiver rankings, as neither DK Metcalf nor Tyler Lockett were represented. Fortunately, EA Sports did get it right when it came to the running back position.

Coming in at No. 8 with an overall rating of 88 is Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III.

Walker is a threat to take it to the house every time he touches the ball. Last year, Walker had 1,164 yards from scrimmage and nine total touchdowns for the man wearing the No. 9 jersey. Going into 2024, Walker should clearly be a focal point for Ryan Grubb’s offense, as the inability to feature him more consistently under Shane Waldron hurt Seattle’s consistency.

Historically speaking, the best Seahawks teams in franchise history were defined by an elite ground attack and defense. With Walker, they have at least the first half the equation solved.

Lil’Jordan Humphrey asks ‘Madden’ to improve his rating after 54-yard TD

After scoring a 54-yard touchdown against the Chargers, Broncos WR Lil’Jordan Humphrey wants EA Sports to improve his ‘Madden’ rating.

The best play of the Denver Broncos’ game against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday came in the second quarter when quarterback Jarrett Stidham stepped up in the pocket and found wide receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey running across the field on third down.

Humphrey caught the ball at the 40-yard line and then made four Chargers defenders miss on his way to a 54-yard touchdown. It was an impressive catch and run and a play that helped secure a 16-9 win on Sunday.

“Just came up,” Humphrey said of the catch after the win. “Saw the look but they dropped out of it. Made a play. I’m just like, ‘Got to make it to the end zone. I want to make a play for the team.’”

After the game, Humphrey took to Twitter/X to ask EA Sports to improve his rating in the popular “Madden NFL” video game.

Humphrey is rated 66 overall in “Madden NFL 24.” After Sunday’s big play, it’s probably fair to say he deserves a boost.

“I saw them bring the blitz, and I had a lane to step up and I thought about taking off and running,” Stidham said of the play. “I just saw him out of the corner of my eye and gave him a ball, and he made an incredible play.

“At first, I thought he was down on the one-[yard line], so I was kind of bummed, but then I saw that they called a touchdown. So heck of a play by him and the rest of the guys for blocking down field.”

Humphrey has totaled 13 receptions for 162 yards and three touchdowns this season. His three scores are a career high and one more catch in the team’s season finale next week would give him another career high with 14 receptions.

“He’s been pretty consistent during the year, quietly,” coach Sean Payton said. “He’s that player in Chicago that makes a play. He’s big. He’s physical.

“He’s strong. I’m a little bit more familiar with him — but the confidence and the consistency. He’s had a good season especially as we acquired someone like him. He’s done a good job. I’m proud of him.”

Humphrey, 25, is set to become a free agent in March.

Madden 24: See the ratings for entire Patriots roster

Did Madden get the Patriots’ ratings right this year?

We are closing in on the start of the 2023 regular season, which means only one thing: It’s Madden season.

With the recent release of EA’s “Madden NFL 24”, the New England Patriots weren’t given much respect at all as far as the player ratings are concerned. Sadly, that’s what happens when a team is an absolute mess and misses the playoffs.

But there is hope for things to be better this time around with all of the new additions to the roster, including the return of Bill O’Brien as offensive coordinator. The team also made the big splash signing at running back with former two-time NFL leading rusher Ezekiel Elliott joining an offensive backfield that already had burgeoning star rusher Rhamondre Stevenson.

Elliott isn’t listed as a Patriots running back on this list, but that will surely change in a future update. For now, let’s take a look at the overall rating for every Patriots player on the Madden 24 roster.
