In an interview with The Camp on Thursday, the Badgers’ leading receiver from 2022, Chimere Dike, spoke highly of transfer quarterback Tanner Mordecai.

Mordecai transferred to Wisconsin in January after spending two successful seasons with Southern Methodist University (SMU). He passed for 3,524 yards and 33 touchdowns last season for the Mustangs. After he transferred from Oklahoma to SMU ahead of the 2021 campaign, he spent one season under Sonny Dykes before the coach left for TCU.

He will spend his final year of eligibility under new head coach Luke Fickell (Cincinnati) and offensive coordinator Phil Longo (North Carolina) and his “Air Raid” offense.

Wisconsin in top 10 of three-star athlete from Chicago

Tysean Griffin, a three-star athlete from Chicago announced his top 10 teams Wednesday, which the Badgers were a part of.

Tysean Griffin, a three-star athlete from Chicago announced his top 10 teams Wednesday, which the Badgers were a part of. The 5-foot-11 class of 2024 player has played both offense and defense in high school, logging snaps at wide receiver, running back and cornerback.

Considering the duel-threat abilities of Griffin, it’s hard to project where he’d contribute in college, whether offense, defense or both, but he’ll find a spot if he chooses Madison. The additions of Luke Fickell at head coach, Phil Longo at offensive coordinator and Mike Tressel at defensive coordinator this offseason have fortified the Badgers as a recruit destination.

So far, Wisconsin has brought in three recruits for the class of 2024, four-star quarterback Mabrey Mettauer (The Woodlands, Texas), four-star tight end Grant Stec (Algonquin, Illinois) and three-star tight end Robert Booker (Waunakee, Wisconsin).

Badger running back ranked in On3’s top 10 for 2023

Braelon Allen was listed as the 10th best RB heading into the 2023 season by On3.com ahead of his third year with the Badgers.

Braelon Allen was listed as the 10th best running back heading into the 2023 season by On3.com. The big bruiser is going into his third season with the Badgers and will look to build off the addition of Luke Fickell as head coach and Phil Longo at offensive coordinator.

Overall, there are six running backs from the Big Ten listed in the top ten with Blake Corum (Michigan, 1), Nick Singleton (Penn State, 3), Miyan Williams (Ohio State, 6), TreVeyon Henderson (Ohio State, 7) and Donovan Edwards (Michigan, 8) also making the list.

Allen produced 1242 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns in 2022 while mostly facing stacked defensive fronts due to the Badgers’ inconsistent passing offense. It seems likely that he’ll face less pressure in 2023 with Longo’s “Air Raid” offense coming to town, which could lead to an explosive year for the 6-foot-2, 238 pound athlete.

Badgers offer 6-foot-4 wide receiver from Maryland

Wisconsin offered Elijah Moore, a three-star wideout from Olney, Maryland on Tuesday. The 6-foot-4 athlete is a member of the class of 2024.

Wisconsin offered Elijah Moore, a three-star wide receiver from Olney, Maryland on Tuesday. The 6-foot-4, 190 pound athlete still has one more season at Good Counsel High School before he’d make the leap to the college level as a part of the class of 2024.

Moore has now received 20 Division 1 offers, including five programs from the Big Ten. With Luke Fickell at head coach and Phil Longo and his “Air Raid” offense taking over in 2023, it’s reasonable to think that the wide receiver could end up in Madison.

The super-sized pass-catcher could join four-star quarterback Mabrey Mettauer (The Woodlands, Texas) with the Badgers in 2024 and lead Wisconsin’s offense for years to come.

Wisconsin offers four-star class of 2025 QB from Tennessee

The Badgers offered George MacIntyre, a class of 2025 four-star quarterback from Brentwood, Tennessee on Monday.

The Badgers offered George MacIntyre, a four-star quarterback from Brentwood, Tennessee on Monday. The 6-foot-5, 178 pound signal-caller still has two more seasons of high school at Brentwood Academy before he could join a collegiate program as a member of their class of 2025.

MacIntyre has now received 25 Division 1 offers, including Michigan, Purdue and Wisconsin from within the Big Ten. Considering the fact that Luke Fickell has already brought in four-star quarterback Mabrey Mettauer (The Woodlands, Texas) for the class of 2024 and multiple four-star QBs in the transfer portal, it’s not wild to think he could reel in MacIntyre as well.

Considering that MacIntyre is from the state of Tennessee, the Volunteers have to be a considered a favorite to earn his commitment, but Wisconsin is certainly in the race.

The Badgers were listed as a winner when 247Sports released their big winners and losers of the offseason coaching carousel in college football on Monday.

This doesn’t come as a huge surprise considering the massive influx of talent and interested recruits following the addition of Luke Fickell at head coach and the subsequent hirings of Phil Longo at offensive coordinator and Mike Tressel at defensive coordinator.

As a result of those men, Wisconsin has brought in over 15 talented athletes from the transfer portal in addition to securing the commitments of four-star athletes like quarterback Mabrey Mettauer (The Woodlands, Texas) and tight end Grant Stec (Algonquin, Illinois) in the past few months.

The Badgers will look to turn their offseason success into an impressive season in 2023, which his soon to be underway after the team released their spring schedule earlier this month.

Wisconsin offers three-star defensive lineman from Cleveland

The Badgers offered Dominic “DK” Kirks, a three-star class of 2024 defensive lineman from Cleveland, Ohio on Tuesday.

The Badgers offered Dominic “DK” Kirks, a three-star defensive lineman from Cleveland, Ohio on Tuesday. The 6-foot-5, 250 pound athlete still has one more season of high school football at Villa Angela-St. Joseph before he’d potentially make the jump to a college program in 2024.

Considering he’s from the state of Ohio, it doesn’t come as a surprise that coach Luke Fickell has offered him. So far, Kirks has received 12 Division 1 offers, with Wisconsin becoming the first Big Ten team to offer him.

To this point, the Badgers have yet to secure a defensive commitment for the class of 2024, but they have reeled in three offensive guys including four-star quarterback Mabrey Mettauer (The Woodlands, Texas).
