Five-star quarterback Arch Manning is set to enroll early and arrive on campus in Jan. of 2023.

Five-star quarterback Arch Manning is set to enroll early and arrive on campus in Jan. of 2023.

Getting the nation’s No. 1 prospect in Austin for the spring semester is massive news for Steve Sarkisian and the Texas staff. Having the opportunity to partake in winter workouts and spring practice gives Manning an advantage in his development.

The future Longhorn is in the middle of a record-breaking senior season at Isidore Newman High School. Manning recently passed up his uncles Peyton and Eli’s records for both passing yards and touchdowns. He has all the tools needed to have success at the collegiate level.

Manning is the leader of Texas’ 2023 recruiting class that currently sits at No. 6 in the county according to 247Sports’ composite rankings. He is set to join Quinn Ewers, Hudson Card and Maalik Murphy, making up one of the most talented quarterback units in college football.

Texas RB commit Cedric Baxter to take an official visit to Florida State

The Seminoles are doing everything they can to keep the star running back in-state.

Four-star running back Cedric Baxter is one of Texas’ top-rated commits in the 2023 recruiting class. 247Sports’ composite rankings list Baxter as the No. 4 running back and No. 48 overall prospect in the nation.

Despite his verbal commitment to Texas, the Florida product is still being pursued by many premier college football programs. Alabama, Florida and Florida State are still in consistent contact with Baxter.

Baxter is set to take an official visit to Florida State over the final weekend of October. The Seminoles are doing everything they can to keep the star running back in-state.

Keeping Baxter in the class must be a significant priority for Steve Sarkisian and running backs coach Tashard Choice. The Longhorns are proving they can develop players at the position as shown by the success of Bijan Robinson and Roschon Johnson.

Baxter is off to a great start to his senior season at Edgewater High School. He averages nearly 10 yards per carry and is up to 11 total touchdowns through seven games.

LOOK: Arch Manning and Colton Vasek enjoying their Texas visit

Arch Manning and Texas are still working to flip the Oklahoma commit.

Texas hosted a few star-studded visitors over the weekend for its matchup against Iowa State. Five-star quarterback Arch Manning and four-star EDGE Colton Vasek spent some time together during the Longhorns’ 24-21 win over the Cyclones.

Steve Sarkisian and the Texas staff are not giving up its purist of Vasek despite his commitment to rival Oklahoma. Vasek had a front-row seat for Texas’ dismantling of Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl a week ago. Getting him on campus this weekend could signify that Vasek is still considering the Longhorns.

Manning is the unquestioned leader of Texas’ 2023 recruiting class. He has been highly vocal about getting other top talents to join him in the burnt orange.

Texas’ class currently sits at No. 6 in the nation according to 247Sports’ composite rankings. A potential flip of Vasek would provide a massive piece to the puzzle for the Longhorns.

Texas offers 2023 four-star ATH Jelani McDonald out of Waco

Texas is eyeing on a potential flip of the Oklahoma State commit.

Steve Sarkisian and his staff have extended an offer to four-star athlete Jelani McDonald. The Waco product is one of the quickest rising prospects in the class of 2023.

Texas has some ground to make up in this recruitment as McDonald verbally committed to Oklahoma State back in July.

247Sports’ composite rankings list McDonald as the No. 15 athlete and a top 300 player nationally.

McDonald is a true do-it-all player on the football field. He plays in all three phases of the game for Waco Connally High School. McDonald is the primary quarterback, defensive back and even serves as the team’s main punter.

He is a multi-sport star who excels on both the basketball court and the track.

Texas hopes to add McDonald to the visitor list for its matchup against Iowa State on Oct. 15. The Longhorns are looking to flip the four-star from Big 12 Conference foe Oklahoma State.

Muhammad is still being pursued hard by Nick Saban and Jimbo Fisher.

Texas cornerback commit Malik Muhammad has not totally shut down his recruitment. The four-star is set to take official visits to both Alabama and Texas A&M this fall.

Johntay Cook still recruiting five-star LB Anthony Hill to Texas

Johntay Cook is still working to get Anthony Hill to Texas.

Five-star linebacker Anthony Hill is among the best defensive players in the 2023 recruiting cycle.

The Texas A&M commit is listed as the No. 1 linebacker in the nation and the No. 3 player in the state of Texas according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

Even though Hill is verbally locked in with A&M, Texas wide receiver commit Johntay Cook is not giving up his pursuit. Cook went to Twitter to remind Hill a flip to Texas is still an option on the table.

Texas A&M is coming off an embarrassing home loss to Appaclan State over the weekend while Texas put up a strong performance against No. 1 Alabama.

Hill is too talented of a player to give up on in the recruiting trail. Expect Texas to continue its push for the superstar linebacker up until national signing day.

Moddon is one of the top wide receivers in the 2024 class.

Texas adds a major piece to its 2024 recruiting class with the commitment of four-star wide receiver Hunter Moddon.

247Sports ranks Moddon as the No. 13 player in the state of Texas and a top 150 national prospect in the 2024 cycle. He has picked up 15 offers, including Baylor, Georgia, LSU and Texas. Wide receiver coach Brennan Marion is certainly happy to have a talent like Moddon in the fold this early.

Texas’ 2024 class is off to a good start. Moddon is the third four-star to commit to the Longhorns. Steve Sarkisian and his staff continue to keep their foot on the gas on the recruiting trail.
