List of former Titans players on playoff teams

The list of former Titans players who are on playoff teams.

While the Tennessee Titans didn’t make the playoffs this season following their epic collapse in the AFC South, the team does have a slew of former players who did with their respective squads.

Two of the biggest names in that group are Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown and punter Brett Kern. Of course, Brown was traded to Philly last offseason, while Kern was signed late in the season.

Brown has become a villain with Titans fans since the trade, and the fact that the deal has turned out horribly so far would make the former second-round pick winning a Super Bowl an even tougher pill to swallow.

On the flip side, Titans fans would love to see Kern win his first ring, something that would no doubt soften the blow of seeing Brown hoist the Lombardi Trophy.

But those are just two of the former Titans in this year’s playoffs. Check out the rest.

Bucs DB Logan Ryan designated for return from injured reserve

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have designated veteran defensive back Logan Ryan for return from injured reserve

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are close to getting back a key veteran on defense.

Defensive back Logan Ryan has been designated for return from injured reserve, the team announced Wednesday.

This move opens up a 21-day window during which Ryan can return to practice. At any point during that stretch, he can be officially added to the active roster.

Ryan’s return is most welcome for a defensive backfield that’s dealing with plenty of other injuries. His versatility should help guard against anyone else in the secondary who might not be able to play in the coming weeks.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are losing one of their veteran defenders for the foreseeable future.

Defensive back Logan Ryan is set to undergo surgery to repair a fractured foot, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Ryan has already missed multiple games with the injury, and now he’ll go on injured reserve with the hopes of perhaps returning later in the season.

A versatile defender who played with the New England Patriots, Tennessee Titans and New York Giants before signing a one-year deal with the Bucs in free agency this offseason, Ryan’s departure will put even more pressure on Tampa Bay’s secondary, which has been banged up at both levels to start the 2022 season.

Bucs S Logan Ryan (foot) questionable to return vs. Chiefs

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers might have to finish Sunday night’s game without one of their veterans on defense

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers might have to finish Sunday night’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs without one of their veterans on defense.

Safety Logan Ryan left the game late in the first quarter with a foot injury, and is questionable to return.

Ryan was signed to a one-year deal in the offseason, bringing valuable experience and versatility to the back end of the Tampa Bay defense. He may not be a full-time starter, but losing him would be a blow to the Bucs’ depth on that side of the ball.

WATCH: Logan Ryan picks off Aaron Rodgers with diving catch

Watch Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Logan Ryan make a diving interception off Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have forced another turnover against the Green Bay Packers, this time through the air.

On a key third down early in the second half, Bucs safety Logan Ryan made a diving attempt to pick off a pass from Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

The Bucs turned the takeaway into points, but were held to another Ryan Succop field goal to keep the Packers ahead, 14-6. Ryan also recovered a clutch fumble in the end zone that stopped a would-be touchdown drive for the Packers in the second quarter.

The defense appears to have settled down after giving up back-to-back touchdown drives to start the game, but the offense will have to pull their weight if they want to make a comeback win.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers got a huge turnover in a key moment from their defense

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers needed a big play to stop a potential scoring drive against the New Orleans Saints, and they got it, courtesy of Logan Ryan and Carl Nassib.

Ryan punched the ball out from Mark Ingram’s arms, and Nassib was there for the recovery deep in Tampa Bay territory.

It’s still a 3-3 game late in the third quarter, but with the Bucs’ offensive struggles, keeping the Saints off the board was a huge win.

Giants roster turnover: 13 new Week 1 starters compared to 2021

When the New York Giants take on the Tennessee Titans in Week 1, 13 different players will start compared to Week 1 of last season.

The New York Giants saw significant change this offseason as yet another rebuild was ushered in under the leadership of first-time general manager Joe Schoen.

In addition to a front office and scouting overhaul, the Giants also saw significant roster turnover. Nearly 50 percent of the roster was altered in some way, shape or form and that will be represented in Week 1 of the 2022 regular season.

When the Giants take on the Tennessee Titans, 13 Week 1 starters from last year’s team will have been replaced — some outright and some due to injury.

Here’s a quick look at those 13 changes from 2021 to 2022.

Bucs re-sign S Logan Ryan

As expected, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have quickly brought back veteran defensive back Logan Ryan

As expected, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have quickly re-signed veteran defensive back Logan Ryan, per The Athletic’s Greg Auman.

Releasing Ryan on Tuesday was nothing more than a procedural move for the Bucs, who needed a roster spot for Pro Bowl center Ryan Jensen. Tampa Bay had to wait until after the cut deadline and waiver process to place Jensen on injured reserve in order to preserve his eligibility to return at some point later in the season.

That meant the Bucs needed to release a vested veteran like Ryan, someone who wouldn’t have to pass through the waiver process, just long enough to keep Jensen on the initial 53-man roster before moving him to IR.

So, Ryan is back like we all knew he would be, and hope remains that Jensen might be able to see the field if he Bucs are able to make another deep playoff run.

5 roster cuts the Vikings should target

The 53-man roster deadline has passed and there are some roster cuts that the Vikings should target

With it being roster cutdown day, 27 players per team – 864 total – see their NFL dreams take an unfortunate detour. Some of them will be claimed on waivers by another team while others will make the practice squad. Some will stay free agents hoping for a chance or a shot at the USFL or XFL this upcoming February.

When initial 53-man rosters become finalized at 3 pm central time, they won’t stay intact for very long. Waivers will be very busy Wednesday afternoon at that same 3 pm central time.

With the Vikings already making a litany of roster moves, they will be among the teams that are active in both the waiver and trade markets. Here are five players they should target.
