The Raiders held on for a 17-16 road victory over the Los Angeles Rams, winning for the second time in as many preseason games. QB Nathan Peterman went the distance under center, throwing for 172 yards with 1 touchdown and 2 picks. He also led the team with 35 rushing yards.

The 49ers are home favorites with an implied win probability of 66.67 %. Their -200 money line odds can be expressed as a fraction of 1/2 or a decimal of 1.5. San Francisco will need to win by 4 or more points in order to cover the spread.

The Raiders cover the spread if they win outright or lose by 3 points or less. Their +160 odds represent an implied win probability of 38.46%.

The Raiders and 49ers must combine to score 36 or more points for a bet on the Over 35.5 to cash. A point total of 35 or fewer points is a win for the Under.

Raiders at Rams odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Rams 19, Raiders 13

Money line

The RAMS (+230) are a tremendous value on their home field, giving bettors a chance to more than double up their wager. QB Marcus Mariota might be well enough to appear for the visitors but there is no value betting the road side in a meaningless game.

Against the spread

The RAMS +6.5 (-115) are catching nearly a touchdown at home. Yes, the Raiders were impressive last week in front of their home fans while the Rams struggled in front of theirs, but you can expect a much better effort from head coach Sean McVay’s group after a sloppy effort in Week 1.

Over/Under

UNDER 34.5 (-110) is the lean in this exhibition battle in SoCal. The Under connected in 13 of the 16 preseason affairs last weekend and there is no reason to believe the offenses will be much more prolific in Week 2.

Las Vegas Raiders at Los Angeles Rams odds and lines: Raiders favored on the road

Looking at Saturday’s Las Vegas Raiders at Los Angeles Rams preseason game with NFL betting odds and lines.

The Las Vegas Raiders will head west to take on the Los Angeles Rams in Week 2 of the preseason. Kickoff is set for Saturday night at 10 p.m. ET from SoFi Stadium. Below, we look at the Raiders at Rams odds and lines.

The Raiders were big winners in their preseason opener, beating the Seattle Seahawks 20-7 on Saturday. RB Trey Ragas led the way with 62 yards rushing and a touchdown, while QB Nathan Peterman threw for 246 yards as the team’s only contributor at quarterback.

The Rams fell to the Chargers last week, a lackluster 13-6 defeat at SoFi Stadium. The defense played fairly well, holding the Chargers to 259 total yards, but the offense only mustered 197 yards itself and scored just one touchdown. With the Rams resting their starters this preseason, not much can be expected in these exhibition games.

As 4.5-point favorites, the Raiders must win by at least five points in order to cover the spread. A $10 wager on the Raiders to cover would return a profit of $8.70. A $10 bet on the Raiders money line would pay out $5 in profit if Las Vegas wins outright.

The Rams are getting 4.5 points from the Raiders, which means they need to win or lose by four points or fewer to cover the spread. A $10 bet on the Rams to cover pays out $9.52. If you bet $10 on the Rams money line and they win outright, it would return $16.00.

With the Over/Under set at 35.5 points, a total score of 36 points or more would be a win for the Over, or less than 36 points would be a win for the Under. A $10 bet on the Under wins a profit of $8.70, and an Over win returns a profit of $9.52.

Seattle Seahawks at Las Vegas Raiders odds and lines: ‘Hawks open preseason as short dogs

Odds and lines for Saturday’s Seattle Seahawks at Las Vegas Raiders NFL preseason game.

The Seattle Seahawks head to Nevada to take on the Las Vegas Raiders in the first full week of the preseason Saturday. Kickoff from Allegiant Stadium set for 9 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Seahawks at Raiders odds and lines.

The Seahawks won the NFC West last season but were bounced in the first round of the playoffs by the Los Angeles Rams. They went 12-4 in the regular season behind another outstanding season by QB Russell Wilson, though he received little support from Seattle’s defense.

The Raiders started strong last year by going 6-3 in the first nine games, but they finished the season 2-5 in their last seven and missed the playoffs. Jon Gruden remains the head coach, with QB Derek Carr under center and RB Josh Jacobs leading the backfield. Las Vegas is poised to compete in the difficult AFC West if Carr plays at a high level.

The Seahawks are underdogs against the Raiders, with a money line of +100 and an implied win probability of 50%. A $10 wager on the Seahawks to win outright will return a profit of $10, while a $10 bet on the Raiders at -125 would net a profit of $8. Las Vegas has an implied win probability of 55.56%.

In order for the Seahawks to cover the spread, they must win outright, tie or lose by no more than 1 point. For the Raiders to cover they must win by at least 2 points. A $10 bet on the Seahawks to cover would return a profit of $9.53, with a $10 bet on the Raiders returning $8.70.

With the Over/Under set at 37.5 points the Seahawks and Raiders would have to combine for 38 or more points for the Over to hit, or 37 or fewer points for the Under to cash in.

Raiders at Broncos: Game notes

  • The Raiders are riding a three-game losing streak, falling out of playoff contention in the AFC. The Broncos have lost back-to-back games and four of their last five.
  • In their last 10 meetings, the Raiders are 6-4 straight up and 8-2 ATS vs. Denver, averaging 20.4 points to the Broncos’ 16.4.
  • The Raiders are 11th in scoring this season and 10th in passing yards. The Broncos rank near the bottom of the league in both categories, sitting 29th in scoring and 28th in passing.
  • Las Vegas has actually been better on the road than at home this year, going 5-2 away from Allegiant Stadium.
  • The total has gone Over in five of the Raiders’ last six games, but it has gone Under in five of Denver’s last seven.

Raiders at Broncos: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Raiders 27, Broncos 20

Money line (?)

The Raiders may have blown their shot at the playoffs, but they’re still a much better team than the Broncos, who are depleted on defense. Las Vegas boasts an explosive offense with playmakers such as TE Darren Waller and WR Nelson Agholor, who will be tough for the Broncos to contain.

I like the RAIDERS (-145) to win outright, especially with the reasonable money line price. There’s still plenty of reward with this wager because Vegas isn’t an overwhelming favorite.

Against the spread (?)

The spread is somewhat surprisingly low, coming in at only 2.5 points. The Raiders are above .500 against the spread this season at 8-7 and have covered against the Broncos in eight of their last 10 meetings.

This is a game Las Vegas should win fairly easily. I’m taking the RAIDERS -2.5 (-115) Sunday as they look to cap off a disappointing season with a victory.

Over/Under (?)

The Broncos have one of the worst offenses in the NFL, ranking 29th in scoring. The Raiders defense isn’t anything impressive, but it will do enough to limit Denver’s offense.

Given the recent trends with the Under coming in most often for these two, that’s the way I’m leaning. Take the UNDER 50.5 (-105).

Dolphins at Raiders: Game notes

  • The Dolphins defeated the New England Patriots 22-12 in Week 15 as 1.5-point home underdogs. Rookie QB Tua Tagovailoa, the fifth-overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, scored 2 rushing touchdowns (3 carries, 9 yards), while throwing for 145 yards with no TDs and 1 interception. Undrafted rookie RB Salvon Ahmed added 122 rushing yards and one score.
  • The Raiders lost to the visiting Los Angeles Chargers 30-27 in overtime in the Week 15 Thursday night game. Las Vegas, which was a 3.5-point favorite, lost QB Derek Carr in the first quarter to a groin injury. Backup QB Marcus Mariota entered and threw for 226 yards with 1 TD and 1 pick, while running for 88 yards and a score. Carr practiced this week and is expected to start vs. Miami.
  • The Dolphins, winners in three of their last four, currently are in the AFC’s final playoff spot, one game behind the Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns and Indianapolis Colts, who are all 10-5. Miami and the Baltimore Ravens are both 9-5, but the Dolphins have the tiebreaker due to a better conference record, 6-4 to the Ravens’ 6-5.
  • Las Vegas has lost four of five and is two games back of the Dolphins and Ravens. The Raiders aren’t eliminated, but need to win out and need a lot of help to make the postseason.
  • The Dolphins are 6-1 in their last seven vs. the Raiders, including a 28-20 home win in the last meeting Sept. 23, 2018. The Raiders won 27-24 in 2017 to snap a 5-game skid in the series.

  • ATS: Dolphins 11-3 | Raiders 7-7

Dolphins at Raiders: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Dolphins 33, Raiders 27

Money line (?)

PASS. I’m calling for a Dolphins win, but I’m willing to lay the points instead of risking the -155 juice on a Miami ML wager.

Against the spread (?)

MIAMI -3 (-105) is the play. They Dolphins will have their way against the Raiders’ woeful defense. Las Vegas allows 30.1 points per game (ranking 29th), 385.4 yards per game (25th), 259.6 passing YPG (26th) and 125.8 rushing YPG (25th).

Over/Under (?)

The OVER 47.5 (-115) is the STRONGEST PLAY – 1½ times your usual wager. Want more info on the Raiders’ woeful defense? It has allowed 180 total points in the last five games for an average of 36.0 PPG.

Chargers at Raiders: Game notes

  • The Chargers won against the Atlanta Falcons 20-17 in Week 14 to snap a two-game slide. PK Michael Badgley‘s 43-yard field goal as time expired sealed the victory as the Chargers covered as 1-point favorites. QB Justin Herbert completed 36 of 44 pass attempts for 243 yards with 2 touchdowns and 1 interception, and RB Austin Ekeler added 146 total yards (79 rushing, 67 receiving). The defense finished with 3 picks and held the Falcons to 70 rushing yards.
  • The Raiders (+2.5) took a hit to their playoff hopes with a Week 14 home loss to the Indianapolis Colts 44-27. The defense had no answers for the Colts offense, which scored on 7 of its first 8 possessions and finished with 212 rushing yards and no turnovers. It was such a pathetic defensive performance that Las Vegas fired defensive coordinator Paul Guenther after the game. On the bright side, Raiders QB Derek Carr threw for 316 yards with 2 TDs (and 2 picks), while WR Nelson Agholor tallied a game-high 100 receiving yards on 5 receptions.
  • With three weeks to go, the Raiders’ playoff chances are 15%.  They were above 50% before the Indy loss, according to Raiders Wire. Vegas is 1 game back of the Miami Dolphins (8-5), who currently hold the AFC’s final playoff spot, and 1 game back of the Baltimore Ravens (8-5), who lose a tiebreaker to Miami (conference win percentage). The Raiders can catch the Dolphins since they play in Las Vegas Week 16, but the Ravens should win out with three easy games remaining – vs. Jacksonville Jaguars, vs. New York Giants and at Cincinnati Bengals.
  • The Chargers have been eliminated from the playoff race.
  • The Raiders beat the Chargers 31-26 in a controversial ending as 1-point favorites in their first meeting this season Nov. 8. The host Chargers seemed to have scored a game-winning, 4-yard touchdown pass on the final play, but it was overturned after a replay review. Carr (165 passing yards) rallied the Raiders with 2 third-quarter TD passes after trailing 17-14 at the half, and Hebert finished with 326 passing yards with 2 TDs.
  • The Raiders are 7-3 in the last 10 of the head-to-head series, including a current 3-game win streak.

Betting stats:

  • ATS: Chargers 6-7 | Raiders 7-6
  • O/U: Chargers 7-6 | Raiders 9-3-1

Chargers at Raiders: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Raiders 37, Chargers 33

Money line (?)

PASS. The Raiders’ -175 price is just a tad high. We’ll focus on the spread.

Against the spread (?)

Back the RAIDERS -3 (-115). They face a must-win to basically keep their playoff hopes alive. The Chargers, who snapped a six-game ATS slide with their win against the Falcons, have nothing but pride to play for. If the line climbs to 3.5, this is a PASS.

Over/Under (?)

The OVER 53.5 (-115) is the STRONGEST PLAY – 1.5 times your usual wager. The Raiders defense is a mess, ranking 30th in the NFL by allowing 30.1 points per game (37.5 in the past four games). The Chargers defense isn’t much better, yielding 27.8 PPG to rank 26th. Look for Carr and Herbert to have big days in this shootout.

  • Colts QB Philip Rivers has passed for 3,263 yards and 18 touchdowns with 9 interceptions through 12 games. His interception percentage of 2.1% is his lowest since 2017.
  • Colts rookie RB Jonathan Taylor is coming on with two straight games with at least 90 yards on the ground.
  • Raiders QB Derek Carr has thrown 3 touchdown passes in two of his last three games and has 22 touchdown passes this season to go with only 5 interceptions.
  • Raiders RB Josh Jacobs has 782 rushing yards and 9 touchdowns but is averaging only 3.8 yards per attempt.

Colts at Raiders: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Colts 33, Raiders 27

Money line (?)

The Raiders, after looking like they were turning a corner, now are coming off two bad games. They lost 43-6 to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 12 and were lucky to beat the winless New York Jets in Week 13 on a deep pass from Carr to WR Henry Ruggs III with 13 seconds left in the game.

Take the COLTS (-155).

Against the spread (?)

The Colts have covered the spread in three of their last four games. Las Vegas, after covering in four straight, has failed to do so in each of its last two games.

The Colts are 7-4 ATS when favored. Las Vegas is 4-3 ATS as the underdog. With less than a field goal as the spread, it isn’t usually worth going against the money line bet. Take the COLTS -2.5 (-115).

Over/Under (?)

The projected 51.5 points seems high for this game but both teams combine to average 54 points per game. Indy’s games have gone Over in three of their last four. Eight of the Raiders’ 12 games have gone Over. Expect some firepower, especially in the fourth quarter.

Take OVER 51.5 POINTS (-105).

Raiders at Jets: Game notes

  • The Raiders enter on a two-game skid, recently suffering an embarrassing 43-6 upset at the Atlanta Falcons as 3.5-point favorites last week. Las Vegas was held to 243 total yards, including just 40 rushing yards in the loss. QB Derek Carr (215 passing yards, 0 TDs) struggled, fumbling three times and throwing one interception, which was returned for a touchdown.
  • The Jets lost 20-3 as 7.5-point home underdogs to the Miami Dolphins in Week 12. QB Sam Darnold returned after missing the last two games with a shoulder injury, but the offense was unable to get anything going. Darnold was intercepted twice and finished with 197 passing yards as the Jets, who only had 10 first downs, were outgained 345-260 yards.
  • The Jets’ 0-11 start is their worst in franchise history, and they’re one loss shy of tying their longest losing streak. (Not only did they win their last game of the 2019 season, they won six of their final eight last year.)
  • The Jets stunned the Raiders last season 34-3 in New Jersey Nov. 24. Darnold threw for 315 yards with 2 TDs, while running for another score for the Jets, which were 3.5-point underdogs. The Raiders’ Carr, who was pulled in the third quarter, finished with 127 passing yards and one interception, which was returned for a touchdown by CB Brian Poole.

Betting stats:

  • ATS: Raiders 7-4 | Jets 3-8
  • O/U: Raiders 7-3-1 | Jets 5-6

Raiders at Jets: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Raiders 24, Jets 10

Money line (?)

PASS. One has to risk four times the potential return on the Raiders (-400). No thanks.

Against the spread (?)

LAS VEGAS -9.5 (-110) is the play. Don’t think Carr doesn’t remember his nightmarish outing vs. the Jets last season. Plus, Las Vegas will have had a full week to think about its terrible showing in Atlanta. Head coach Jon Gruden will make sure the Raiders are ready and prepared.

Over/Under (?)

The UNDER 46.5 (-105) is the STRONGEST PLAY – 1½ times your usual wager. The Jets offense ranks last in the league in scoring (13.8 points per game). With the Raiders focused on improving their ground game – it only produced 129 total rushing yards the last two games after averaging 190.7 yards per game in the previous three – they’ll take big chunks off the clock with long drives.

Raiders at Falcons: Game notes

  • The Falcons lost 24-9 on the road against QB Taysom Hill and the New Orleans Saints last week. Falcons QB Matt Ryan was sacked eight times for 36 yards and threw two interceptions.
  • The Raiders suffered heartbreak on a game-winning touchdown pass by Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes with 0:28 to go in a 35-31 loss at Allegiant Stadium in Sin City. The Raiders were under a minute away from sweeping their season series against the defending Super Bowl champions.
  • Atlanta had won three of four games under interim head coach Raheem Morris prior to the loss to New Orleans. Its nine points last week were a season-low.
  • Las Vegas had won three straight games prior to Week 11. It has scored more than 30 points in three consecutive games coming into Week 12.
  • Both teams have a plus-1 turnover differential on the year with 11 takeaways and 10 giveaways.
  • Ryan should stay a little more upright this week with the Raiders having just 11 sacks through 10 games to rank 31st in the NFL.

Raiders at Falcons: Key injuries

Raiders

  • Erik Harris (calf) questionable
  • CB Amik Robertson (illness) questionable
  • OT Sam Young (knee) questionable
  • RB Josh Jacobs (hip) questionable

Falcons

  • WR Julio Jones (hamstring) questionable
  • WR Calvin Ridley (foot) questionable
  • LB Foye Oluokun (knee) questionable
  • James Carpenter (groin) questionable
  • DT Grady Jarrett (knee) questionable
  • LB Mykal Walker (hamstring) questionable
  • DE Dante Fowler Jr. (hamstring) questionable
  • RB Todd Gurley (knee) questionable
  • TE Hayden Hurst (ankle) questionable

Raiders at Falcons: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Raiders 30, Falcons 27

Money line (?)

The RAIDERS (-167) will look to move on quickly from Week 11’s disappointing loss to the rival Chiefs. Head coach Jon Gruden will get his team back on track as they look to stay in the thick of the AFC Wild Card hunt.

The Falcons had a bye in Week 10 and came out of it with one of their most disappointing performances of the season with Hill making his first career start under center. They have little left to play for this season after taking their seventh loss.

Against the spread (?)

I like this game to be played within 3 points so wait this one out for movement toward either 2.5 or 3.5 and take whichever team calls for that result. As it stands, I’d lean to FALCONS +3 (-110) as a hedge against the Raiders pick on the ML.

Over/Under (?)

The Raiders played to a total north of 60 points against the Chiefs for the second time this season last week. The Falcons offense, especially Ryan, should come out angry at home after being held out of the end zone in New Orleans. Take the OVER 53.5 (-115) as the strongest play on this game.
