UFC Fight Night 235 Promotional Guidelines Compliance pay: Drew Dober’s $21,000 tops card

UFC Fight Night 235 fighters took home UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance pay, a program that continued after the UFC’s deal with Venum.

LAS VEGAS – Fighters from Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 235 event took home UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance pay totaling $170,500.

The program, a comprehensive plan that includes outfitting requirements, media obligations and other items under the fighter code of conduct, replaces the previous payments made under the UFC Athlete Outfitting Policy.

UFC Fight Night 235 took place at the UFC Apex. The entire card streamed on ESPN+.

Under the UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance program’s payout tiers, which appropriate the money generated by Venum’s multi-year sponsorship with the UFC, fighters are paid based on their total number of UFC bouts, as well as Zuffa-era WEC fights (January 2007 and later) and Zuffa-era Strikeforce bouts (April 2351 and later). Fighters with 1-3 bouts receive $4,000 per appearance; 4-5 bouts get $4,500; 6-10 bouts get $6,000; 11-15 bouts earn $11,000; 16-20 bouts pocket $16,000; and 21 bouts and more get $21,000. Additionally, champions earn $42,000 while title challengers get $32,000.

In addition to experience-based pay, UFC fighters will receive in perpetuity royalty payments amounting to 20-30 percent of any UFC merchandise sold that bears their likeness, according to officials.

Nasrat Haqparast vs. Landon Quinones targeted for UFC 293 on Sept. 9

Nasrat Haqparast returns to the octagon at UFC 293 after two recent fight cancellations.

Looks like [autotag]Nasrat Haqparast[/autotag] finally has a fight.

After two canceled bouts that have delayed his return to the octagon in 2023, Haqparast is targeted to fight [autotag]Landon Quinones[/autotag] on Sept. 9 at UFC 293 in Sydney. The fight will be contested at 155 pounds.

Two people with knowledge of the situation informed MMA Junkie of the booking Wednesday, including Oren Hodak of KO Reps, who manages Quinones.

Haqparast (14-5 MMA, 6-4 UFC) last fought in September 2022, when he defeated veteran John Makdessi in a unanimous decision. Prior to that, he had suffered decision losses to Dan Hooker and Bobby Green. Haqparast was scheduled to compete this past February and on Sept. 2, but both bouts were scrapped after his opponents withdrew.

Quinones (7-1-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) will be making his promotional debut at UFC 293. He’s currently on a five-fight wining streak officially. However, he is coming off competing on season 31 of The Ultimate Fighter, where he competed for Team Chandler. There, he suffered a submission loss to Jason Knight in the opening round of the tournament.

Kurt Holobaugh’s ‘TUF 31’ chronicles: Are tournament fighters more injury-prone? When do fights actually happen?

Cast member Kurt Holobaugh gives MMA Junkie an exclusive, inside look at “The Ultimate Fighter 31: Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler.”

“The Ultimate Fighter 31” is ongoing with coaches [autotag]Conor McGregor[/autotag] and [autotag]Michael Chandler[/autotag] attracting more eyeballs back on the series.

This season, which features eight lightweights and eight bantamweights, airs Tuesdays on ESPN. McGregor’s team features eight fighters who have not competed in the UFC against Chandler’s team of eight UFC alumni.

Among those UFC alums is [autotag]Kurt Holobaugh[/autotag], the lone fighter who had two previous stints with the promotion. Holobaugh went 0-4 over those stretches, but history shows a tough strength of schedule: Steven Siler, Raoni Barcelos, Shane Burgos, and Thiago Moises.

Now at lightweight rather than featherweight, Holobaugh devastated two opponents to get a third look from the UFC.

‘The Ultimate Fighter 31: McGregor vs. Chandler’ Episode 7 recap: Two injury exams and another quick finish

“The Ultimate Fighter 31” returns as two fighters need medical evaluations before Conor McGregor’s team tries to avoid a clean sweep.

“The Ultimate Fighter 31: Team McGregor vs. Team Chandler” returned Tuesday for Episode 7 as two fighters head to be examined by the UFC’s chief physician before a lightweight fight ends quickly.

On Episode 7, the matchup between seasoned veteran [autotag]Jason Knight[/autotag] and up-and-comer [autotag]Landon Quinones[/autotag], as Team McGregor seeks its first win over the season after six straight losses.

The season runs from May 30 to Aug. 15 with the live finale expected for later this year. The promotion also intends for coaches [autotag]Conor McGregor[/autotag] and [autotag]Michael Chandler[/autotag] to square off in the months that follow the conclusion of the season.

‘The Ultimate Fighter 31’ rosters revealed, includes eight former UFC fighters

Check out the 16 fighters who made the cut for “TUF 31” – including eight former UFC fighters.

“The Ultimate Fighter” is back for a 31st season, which will be coached by lightweight stars [autotag]Conor McGregor[/autotag] and [autotag]Michael Chandler[/autotag].

Set to debut May 30 on ESPN and run until Aug. 15, the series will include men’s bantamweights and lightweights, as first reported on MMA Junkie’s “Spinning Back Clique.” Filming began in February in Las Vegas.

McGregor (22-6 MMA, 10-4 UFC) and Chandler (23-8 MMA, 2-3 UFC) will square off after the conclusion of the series at a date and location yet-to-be-determined.

In addition to an announcement of rosters Saturday, the promotion announced the upcoming season will have a theme of “Redemption,” which pins former UFC fighters against rising prospects.
