NHL broadcaster Kevin Weekes keeps breaking trades with videos in random places and hockey fans have jokes

Kevin Weekes in the NHL trade deadline MVP.

The NHL trade deadline is one of the more exciting times of the hockey calendar and Kevin Weekes is making it all the better.

Weeks is a broadcaster and analyst for NHL Network and for the last few days, he’s been reporting on and breaking major trades via video from increasingly random places. Most NHL insiders and reporters just tweet out details of trades, but recently Weekes has eschewed tradition and is posting videos alongside the trade.

Originally, they started off quite mundane, either from his house, the office, or even the parking lot. But then, things changed over the weekend when Weekes reported on a trade… from the barber’s chair.

Then Weekes helped break the Claude Giroux trade to the Florida Panthers outside in sunglasses with the New York skyline in the background.

Hockey fans instantly became enamored with Weekes’s increasingly hilarious location choices for trade videos, so much so that it became a meme ahead of deadline day.
