Kevin Harlan didn’t flinch on the call as a Marquette player leaped over his head during March Madness

“He flew right over my head!”

Kevin Harlan, as we all know, is absolutely unflappable when he’s on the microphone.

Whether he’s calling games on the radio or television, the longtime play-by-play announcer has a knack for transforming the weirdest and wildest moments into some of the most memorable.

Harlan did just that a few days ago when confetti mistakenly dropped early during the A-10 title game and who could forget his all-timer of a call when the Furman’s upset of Virginia last year nearly knocked him out of his chair?

Well, Friday’s slate of March Madness games gave us another call to put in the Harlan Hall of Fame. While broadcasting the No. 2 Marquette – No. 15 Western Kentucky game on TBS, Golden Eagles guard Chase Ross attempted to chase a ball out of bounds and ended up hurdling the announcers table.

Harlan, the true pro that he is, didn’t lose his concentration for a moment and delivered another epic narration:

“He flew right over my head!” tells you everything you need to know about what just happened.

Kevin Harlan remains a national treasure. Here’s hoping players keep soaring over him and never into him.

Kevin Harlan had an instant classic radio call of the Chiefs’ game-winning Super Bowl touchdown

Kevin Harlan: “It is a dynasty!”

Kevin Harlan has made some incredible calls in his professional broadcasting career and during Super Bowl 58, he made yet another.

Harlan, who is a three-time National Sportscaster of the Year, has spent 39 consecutive seasons doing play-by-play for NFL games. As the lead NFL voice on the Westwood One network, this season marked his 14th year in a row calling the national radio broadcast of the Super Bowl.

The final possession of the game was a stellar touchdown pass from Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes to wide receiver Mecole Hardman. Using just his voice, Harlan was able to capture all of the excitement everyone who was watching felt.

Listen to the call below:

If you wanted to watch the possession as it happened live but with Harlan’s play-by-play dubbed over, there is already a video for that.

Check it out:

This was the highlight of the call:

“Hardman caught the ball. The Chiefs have won. The Chiefs have won. The entire bench empties chasing Mahomes in the end zone. Their third Super Bowl in five years … It is a dynasty.”

This was just amazing stuff from Harlan, as usual.

Kevin Harlan and Reggie Miller had a ball calling Victor Wembanyama’s breakout game during Bucks-Spurs

Kevin Harlan and Reggie Miller brought their A-games to calling Bucks-Spurs.

If you wanted to hear one of the most joyous NBA broadcasts of the year, you have to check out highlights from Kevin Harlan and Reggie Miller’s call of the Milwaukee Bucks and San Antonio Spurs game on Thursday night.

The infectious energy in the building for Wembanyama’s breathtaking breakout game got Harlan and Miller positively giddy, as their excitement for this nail-biting game spread throughout the broadcast/

Even when it wasn’t Wemby making the huge plays, Harlan and Miller put on a clinic on how to capture a moment in time with the way they heightened their deliver to match the special game that was unfolding.

Here are a few highlights from their call, surely one of the best in the NBA so far this season. It’ll get you pumped up to hear them get so hyped up.

Even Kevin Harlan had to chuckle at himself struggling to read promos for CBS

“There’s another CSI???” Kevin Harlan, probably

Kevin Harlan has been calling football and basketball games on CBS (and other channels) for decades. But it seems even the seasoned pro can struggle to keep up with the network’s programming changes.

During the late stages of the Tampa Bay Buccaneer’s 30-12 blowout win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Christmas Eve, Harlan started to tease what was coming up next on CBS. After successfully reading through 60 Minutes, the legendary announcer needed some help to finish his teaser.

Harlan tried to enlist color commentator Trent Green for assistance, but it was to no avail. So the duo ended up just chuckling together at the little mid-game blooper. Hey, it’s the holidays. It happens!

Kevin Harlan had an epic reaction to Cameron Goode’s flop on a headbutt from punter Johnny Hekker

Flopping against a PUNTER?!

The Miami Dolphins are looking like one of the most dangerous teams in the NFL, and when you’re a good team, you know how to rattle an opponent. But Dolphins linebacker Cameron Goode was a bit shameless on Sunday.

Dude was flopping off a headbutt from a punter.

During the Week 6 matchup between the Panthers and Dolphins, Panthers punter Johnny Hekker exchanged words with Goode at the tail end of a punt. Hekker went up to Goode and gave him a shove. Then, he kept going and actually went for the headbutt on the Dolphins linebacker, which Goode reacted to with an exaggerated flop.

The entire exchange was pure comedy, and it was taken to another level with Kevin Harlan on the call.

“DOWN GOES FRAZIER!” Well played, sir.

And let’s be honest: Goode cannot be flopping like that against a punter even if he successfully drew a penalty. Have some pride out there.

Fans also had jokes about the whole exchange.

Kevin Harlan hysterically made himself hungry while reading a food advertisement during Packers preseason game

Someone get Kevin Harlan something to eat!

When he’s not broadcasting NFL and college basketball games for CBS, Kevin Harlan is calling games for the Green Bay Packers in preseason football.

Harlan’s father Bob Harlan was an executive for the Packers, and his son continues the tradition by getting involved with the NFL team in the booth for preseason ball.

Well, Kevin Harlan got an unexpected urge to chow down while reading an advertisement for Cousins Subs during Green Bay’s preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Friday night.

During the ad, Harlan read about what the restaurant offered to customers and said that he made himself hungry just reading what he did.

Hey, the poor guy probably is starving, and we can guess where he might grab a bite to eat once the Packers game is over.

If you’re a Cousins Subs fan, you might’ve just ordered that for your dinner. If you’ve never heard of it, you might be really curious now.

If you’re Kevin Harlan, you’re hoping Uber Eats delivers a sub to the Green Bay broadcast booth. Can you blame him? They sound delicious!

Kevin Harlan absolutely nailed the call for Robert Williams’ monster dunk during Game 6 of Celtics-Heat

You have to hear Kevin Harlan’s call of Robert Williams’ monster dunk during Celtics-Heat Game 6.

As the Boston Celtics battled with the Miami Heat in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference finals on Saturday night, center Robert Williams gave Boston a major spark with a beautiful dunk.

Williams got a lob during the second quarter and slammed it down on Miami. TNT broadcaster Kevin Harlan, like most folks watching at home, got blown away by the Celtics center’s arena-shaking bucket.

Harlan’s call was the perfect mixture of awe and genuine excitement.

“Up high, down hard!” a giddy Harlan exclaimed on the dunk, one that showed why Boston is still pushing for the conference title after falling behind 3-0 to Miami earlier in the series.

If you had a similar reaction at home, it’s understandable.

Williams’ big dunk is one of the best during this entire NBA playoffs, and Harlan knew exactly how to top the moment with the kind of reaction that makes him one of the most beloved broadcasters in all of basketball.

‘JIMMY FRICKIN BUTLER!’ Kevin Harlan’s call of Heat star’s Game 1 dagger was an instant classic

What a call from Kevin Harlan!!

Kevin Harlan continues to deliver amazing call after amazing call.

He gave us one amazing Celtics call earlier in the playoffs, and there are so many to list that include the Furman shot over Virginia in men’s March Madness.

This time, he was on the mic for TNT in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat. And his call of Jimmy Butler hitting a three-point dagger to give the Heat the Game 1 win was an instant all-timer.

“OH JIMMY FRICKIN BUTLER PUTS IT IN!” he shouted.

NBA fans agreed that was an all-time great call:

Kevin Harlan channeled one of the most famous calls in Celtics history on late Sixers’ steal

“MAXEY STOLE THE BALL!”

The Philadelphia 76ers made out like bandits in Game 1 against the Boston Celtics and Kevin Harlan made sure to rub some salt in that wound.

The Sixers bested the Celtics 119-115 in Game 1 on Monday thanks to a heroic 45-point performance from James Harden without Joel Embiid. The game was truly a wild start to the second round of the 2023 NBA Playoffs, as the Celtics shot nearly 60 percent from the floor but were unable to claim victory.

The first nail in the Celtics’ coffin came from Tyrese Maxey in the dying seconds of the fourth quarter, as the guard picked off an errant Boston pass for an easy scoop and score to put the Sixers up 114-113. And on his call of the moment, Harlan invoked some old Celtics history to really rub it all in.

Yes, that’s Harlan throwing it back to the 1965 Eastern Conference Finals, where Celtics’ John Havlicek stole the ball in Game 7 to stop the Sixers from making a play in the final seconds.

Maxey stole the ball indeed!

Awesome video of Furman’s game-winner vs. Virginia shows Kevin Harlan almost falling out of his chair

Harlan, Stan Van Gundy, and Dan Bonner were just as stunned as us!

Furman might be out of the men’s NCAA tournament now, but we won’t soon forget its instant classic upset of the Virginia Cavaliers. Something tells me the folks who brought it to life on our screens might have been just as mesmerized by the sheer pandemonium.

A video from CBS Sports provided another angle of the final moments of Furman’s 68-67 win, punctuated by JP Pegues’ game-winning three-pointer. It shows the broadcast team of play-by-play Kevin Harlan and color commentators Stan Van Gundy and Dan Bonner trying to process the final seconds of chaos in real-time.

And as Furman stole victory from the jaws of defeat, everyone’s reactions were so amazing and relatable.

From Harlan almost falling out of his seat to the stunned silence of Van Gundy and Bonner — all ends of the spectrum were covered here:

Hearing the excitement and thrill from someone like Harlan is one thing.

It’s another to see him at work, absolutely losing it over an instant classic moment in sports. And for two guys like Van Gundy and Bonner — who are present to offer insight — to be literally speechless?

That’s priceless. That’s March.
