4-star defensive lineman locks in official visit to Florida

Four-star defensive lineman Keldric Faulk set an official visit to Florida for the middle of June.

Four-star defensive lineman [autotag]Keldric Faulk[/autotag] locked in an official visit to Florida on Tuesday, according to Swamp247. He plans to take one from June 17 to the 19. He’ll also use one to visit Clemson during the first weekend of June.

The 247Sports composite rankings have the Highland Home, Alabama, native as the 112th overall player and as the 14th best at his position.

This will be Faulk’s second visit to the Swamp under the new coaching staff. He last visited during the month of March.

So far head coach [autotag]Billy Napier[/autotag], co-defensive coordinator and defensive line coach [autotag]Sean Spencer[/autotag] and co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach [autotag]Patrick Toney[/autotag] have led the way for the Gators in Faulk’s recruitment. He said he has built strong relationships with all three coaches.

Faulk has played mainly a five-technique defensive end for his high school, but the Gators are recruiting him to play the JACK linebacker position in their defense. That position will allow him to play standing up and put his hand in the dirt.

He added that Florida, Florida State, Clemson, Oklahoma and Auburn are doing the best job recruiting him currently. Faulk wants to make his decision near the end of the summer.

Tigers in heavy pursuit of talented, in-state edge rusher

In-state edge rusher and his brother visited the Plains on Monday for spring practice

On Monday, 2023 four-star edge Keldric Faulk took a visit to the Plains. This was the third unofficial visit that Faulk has taken since receiving a(n) offer from Auburn in April of 2021. This particular visit involved Keldric and his younger brother Jakaleb to meet new defensive line coach [autotag]Jimmy Brumbaugh [/autotag]. Along with Brumbaugh, he was also able to meet with the new edge coach [autotag]Roc Bellantoni [/autotag].

The 2023 prospect is ranked as the No. 94 player in the nation and the No. 14 defensive lineman in his respective class. Prior to the beginning of his junior season, Faulk released a top five. The five schools he listed were Alabama, Florida State, Tennessee, Clemson, and Auburn. However, he is now looking at visiting other schools as well. According to an article by Christian Clemente, Faulk currently has other visits planned for Ole Miss and Georgia later on in the spring. Afterward, he will likely narrow down his choices in hopes of finding the best fit for him.

A key factor to weigh into his recruitment is also the recruitment of his little brother Jakaleb Faulk. The two are multi-sport athletes at Highland Home high school. While Jakaleb is not yet ranked because he is in the class of 2025, he has already fielded some elite offers. The only schools to offer both are Florida State, Kentucky, Tennessee, UCF, and AuburnAlthough the two are separated by two years, they still may look to be on the same team at the next level.

According to 247Sports, Alabama and Auburn are the favorites to land Faulk. I certainly feel like one of the two will land the tremendous athlete. Whoever Faulk chooses, he will certainly be a great addition to the class. The Tigers and head coach Bryan Harsin are doing everything they can to assemble a great class in 2023. As we all know, it starts in the trenches. If the Tigers could land Faulk, it would speak volumes to other in-state recruits that they are trying to pursue. It would also give the Tigers one of the more premier edge rushers in the entire country. His recruitment is definitely one to keep an eye on as things heat up in the spring.

Clemson is set to host a plethora of top talent on Saturday, when the Tigers will hold their elite junior day and welcome some of the nation’s top prospects in the 2023 class to campus.

One of the headlining junior day visitors will be Birmingham (Ala.) Briarwood Christian four-star signal caller Christopher Vizzina (pictured above), the No. 8 quarterback and No. 85 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Vizzina camped at Clemson last summer and returned to campus for the Wake Forest game on Nov. 20, when he picked up an offer from the Tigers. He will be the lone quarterback on campus for Clemson’s elite junior day.

“I’m super excited,” he told The Clemson Insider. “It’s their elite junior day, so everybody up there is one of the top players in the country, so that should be really awesome.”

Among the other headliners expected to be on hand for Clemson’s elite junior day are a pair of five-star defensive tackles in Thompson High School (Alabaster, Ala.)’s Peter Woods and Warner Robins (Ga.) High School’s Vic Burley.

Woods, ranked as the No. 4 defensive lineman in the 2023 class per the 247Sports Composite, released a top six in December that included Clemson along with Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia and Oregon. The Tigers extended an offer to Woods back on June 1 of last year – the first day they began offering prospects in the 2023 class. He visited Clemson during the Dabo Swinney Camp last June and returned to campus for the Boston College and Florida State games in October.

Burley, ranked as the No. 6 defensive lineman in the 2023 class according to the 247Sports Composite, likewise received an offer from Clemson on June 1. He was on campus last June as well and returned to Tiger Town for the UConn game in November.

Several other big-time defensive linemen are also slated to be in attendance for Saturday’s elite junior day, including Highland Home (Ala.) four-star Keldric Faulk, Kissimmee (Fla.) Osceola four-star Derrick LeBlanc, Columbus (Ga.) Carver four-star Darron Reed, New Bern (N.C.) four-star Keith Sampson and Hickory (N.C.) four-star Rico Walker.

Faulk, Reed, Sampson and Walker all earned offers from Clemson earlier this month. Sampson dropped a top five on Jan. 15 featuring Clemson, Georgia, NC State, Ohio State and South Carolina, while LeBlanc, who received an offer from Clemson last September, named the Tigers one of his final seven schools in December along with Florida, Miami, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Penn State and UCF.

A longstanding Clemson cornerback target in the 2023 class who will make his way back to campus Saturday is Atlanta (Ga.) Westlake four-star Avieon Terrell – of course, the younger brother of former Clemson and current Atlanta Falcons cornerback A.J. Terrell.

Clemson offered the younger Terrell back in April 2020, and he’s made countless trips to The Valley ever since. He is ranked as the No. 15 cornerback and No. 103 overall prospect nationally in the 2023 class, per Rivals.

Terrell will be joined at Clemson’s elite junior day by a couple of other standout defensive backs: Coppell (Texas) four-star cornerback Braxton Myers and Selma (Ala.) four-star safety DaKaari Nelson.

Myers received an offer from Clemson on Wednesday of last week, and head coach Dabo Swinney paid a visit to his school earlier this week. Nelson doesn’t currently hold an offer from the Tigers, though they’re showing substantial interest and co-defensive coordinator/safeties coach Mickey Conn stopped by his school on Thursday.

“Lately they’ve been saying they like the way I play and they want to offer me, but Coach Swinney wants to see me in person before they do,” Nelson told The Clemson Insider in a phone interview Thursday.

Other prominent prospects planning to attend Clemson’s elite junior day include Roswell (Ga.) Blessed Trinity Catholic four-star running back Justice Haynes, Pfafftown (N.C.) Reagan four-star offensive lineman Sam Pendleton, Lakeland (Fla.) four-star wide receiver Tyler Williams and Jacksonville (Fla.) Andrew Jackson four-star linebacker Grayson Howard.

As always, visitor lists like this one are fluid and subject to change. But here is the full list of prospects that The Clemson Insider has confirmed as expected visitors for Saturday’s elite junior day:

Warner Robins (Ga.) 2023 5-star DL Vic Burley

Alabaster (Ala.) Thompson 2023 5-star DL Peter Woods

Clemson defensive ends coach Lemanski Hall made his rounds on the recruiting trail Wednesday

After speaking with the program’s head coach, Tanner Glisson, The Clemson Insider learned that Hall stopped by Troup County High School (Lagrange, Ga.) on behalf of a fast-rising 2024 safety in Noah Dixon.

“Of course, right now they can’t talk to him,” Glisson said of Dixon,” but, they just came in to see me and do some talking. They want to try and get him on campus to meet Coach Swinney. I know Clemson does things a little differently. They don’t just come around throwing around offers like crazy.”

According to Glisson, there is no doubt in his mind that Clemson and Alabama will eventually offer Dixon. Georgia has already offered him, while Oklahoma’s coming in tomorrow to offer.

“He’s gonna have every offer you can think of,” Glisson said. “He’s just a super fantastic kid. His athleticism is just a small piece of it. The intangibles are what makes this kid so great.

“On the field, he’s a hard-hitting safety that is physical, that’s got good ball skills, good cover skills. He runs somewhere in the 4.5 range. He’s got a good build. He’s a 4.0 student. He’s got a sister at Vanderbilt that’s very, very intelligent. His mama works here at the school. He’s just a hard, hard worker. Just a real asset to have in anybody’s locker room.”

This isn’t the first time Hall has visited with Glisson. He’s from Lanett (Ala.), which is about 15-30 miles south of Troup on I-85 in Georgia.

“We’ve known Coach Hall and he’s done a good job,” Glisson said. “Clemson’s always come through here and recruited us.”

Hall later made his way down to the Yellowhammer State Wednesday.

Along with Clemson co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach Mickey Conn, Hall stopped by Madhouse Athletic Training to visit with the trainers of Carver (Ala.) 2023 four-star defensive Qua Russaw.

Russaw announced an offer from Clemson back on Tuesday, Jan. 4 after a conversation with both Hall and Conn.

“It felt great,” Russaw said of receiving an offer from Clemson,” because I’ve been talking with Coach Lemanski Hall for a ‘lil minute now. We’ve been building a bond. We keep in touch almost every day now. We have a great relationship.

“Being that they don’t hand out offers like everybody else does, I think it’s special,” he said. “They really got to know you to give you that offer. They don’t just want you because of football. I think it’s special.”

Russaw (6-2, 230) is ranked as the No. 4 edge defender and No. 38 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

That wasn’t the only recently-offered defensive end that Hall stopped by to see Wednesday. Hall also was at Highland Home (Ala.) High School, the home of another 2023 four-star in Keldric Faulk.

Clemson extended a scholarship offer to Faulk on Monday, Jan. 17.

He told The Clemson Insider back in July that Clemson holds one of the top spots in his recruitment, even though he hadn’t received an offer just yet.

Now, he has that offer in tow.

“I do believe an offer is on the way,” he told TCI this past summer. “I got hurt last year, which has slowed down everything for me, but I will wake everybody up soon.”

Faulk (6-5, 248) is ranked as the No. 15 defensive linemen and No. 92 overall prospect in the nation for the 2023 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Highland Home (Ala.) High School four-star Keldric Faulk announced the offer on Twitter.

Falk previously narrowed down his recruitment to five schools: Clemson, Alabama, Texas, Florida State and Miami.

He told The Clemson Insider back in July that Clemson holds one of the top spots in his recruitment, even though he hadn’t received an offer just yet.

Now, he has that offer in tow.

Alabama 4-star DL: Clemson is ‘top tier’ everything

One of the nation’s best defensive linemen in the 2023 class named Clemson among his top schools last Saturday.

Highland Home (Ala.) High School four-star Keldric Faulk is down to Clemson, Alabama, Auburn, Florida State and Tennessee.

Faulk told The Clemson Insider back in July that Clemson holds one of the top spots in his recruitment, even though he hadn’t received an offer just yet.

While that offer from the Tiger still hasn’t come, Faulk kept his word.

“I do believe an offer is on the way,” he told TCI, “I got hurt last year, which has slowed down everything for me, but I will wake everybody up soon.”

Faulk (6-5, 248) is ranked as No. 16 defensive linemen in the 2023 class by 247Sports, while ESPN considers him the No. 9 defensive linemen in the country. He is the No. 6 prospect in the state of Alabama and No. 81 overall prospect regardless of position according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Clemson has made quite the impression on Faulk, who is “definitely” looking to make it back up to Tiger Town for a game this season. The Tigers got Faulk on campus in June when he participated in the Dabo Swinney Camp.

“Everything is top tier there!” Faulk said. “From coaches all the way down to the GAs. They made me feel welcome and I have a good relationship with Coach Lemanski Hall.”

Faulk has carved out a connection with Clemson’s defensive ends coach, who also hails from Alabama.

“We have a pretty good relationship I would say,” Faulk said. “He just tells me to basically stay where my feet are and have fun this season and be a good student-athlete.”

Michigan State Football offers top 2023 prospect Keldric Faulk

The Spartans have offered a scholarship to defensive end Keldric Faulk, who should be one of the top ranked pass rushers in the 2023 class.

[jwplayer h3HLhWW4]

As we have noted repeatedly during our coverage of Mel Tucker’s aggressive recruiting since arrive at Michigan State, he has not only been heavily focused on 2021 and 2022, but he has already fixed his eye upon the 2023 and 2024 classes, offering some big names from those groups early on in the process. One of the top prospects from the 2023 class is defensive end Keldrick Faulk, and he announced that he received an offer from the Spartans on Thursday.

Faulk isn’t officially ranked yet, but should be one of the top players in the 2023 class once they start getting star-ratings. The 6’5″ defensive end currently plays for Highland Home High School in Alabama and already has offers out from some big-time schools like Alabama, Florida State, LSU, and Penn State.
