SIGNED: Four-star linebacker Kamar Mothudi is officially a Duck

Oregon has signed four-star linebacker Kamar Mothudi out of Los Alamidos, Calif.

When is comes to linebackers, Dan Lanning doesn’t mess around in recruiting the best.

Oregon was able to sign four-star linebacker Kamar Mothudi out of Los Alamidos, Calif. during the early signing period. 247Sports has Mothudi rated at the No. 17 linebacker in the nation and No. 208 player overall. He’s also rated the No. 18 player overall in the state of California.

Nearly every school on the West Coast recruited Mothudi and the Ducks had to beat the likes of Washington, Michigan State and Utah to sign him.

The Ducks are attempting to build up depth at linebacker and they’re doing a good job. Mothudi is one of three linebackers signed in this period and they have really good talent in the system already with players such as Jeffrey Bassa, Jestin Jacobs, and Devon Jackson, all former four-star recruits.

Twitter Reactions: Ducks add second elite LB in matter of days with Kamar Mothudi commitment

The flock is hot, and the fans are celebrating.

It’s been a hot stretch of recruiting for Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks.

Over the last handful of days, the Ducks landed commitments from both 4-star LB Dylan Williams — the No. 17 LB in the nation — and 4-star LB Kamar Mothudi — the No. 18 LB in the nation, giving the team 20 overall commitments in the 2024 class. This places them well within the top 10 national rankings, with several top prospects still left on the board.

Both Williams and Mothudi are among the highest-rated linebackers to commit to Oregon in the Dan Lanning era, trailing only linebacker Devon Jackson, who was a member of the 2021 class.

After the commitment on Tuesday, Oregon players, fans, and coaches took to social media to celebrate. Here are some of the best reactions.

4-star LB Kamar Mothudi commits to Oregon Ducks

The Ducks added another elite LB to the flock on Tuesday, getting a commitment from 4-star LB Kamar Mothudi.

The Ducks have stayed hot on the linebacker recruiting trail this offseason, loading up talent at the critical defensive position and putting themselves in a great spot going forward.

On Monday, 4-star linebacker Kamar Mothudi announced his commitment to the Ducks, becoming the 20th member of the 2024 class. Mothudi is rated by 247Sports as the No. 18 LB and No. 176 overall player in the 2024 class.

On Friday, the Ducks picked up a commitment from 4-star LB Dylan Williams, who is rated as the No. 17 LB in the class as well.

Dan Lanning has a history with linebackers, both playing that position in school and William and Mary, and coaching linebackers before becoming a defensive coordinator at Georgia. It’s safe to say that he knows what to look for at that position, and over the past week, he’s landed a couple of incredibly talented players to work with going forward.
