Colts’ mock draft: Predicting Indy’s picks on Day 2

Predicting how Day 2 will go for the Colts.

The Indianapolis Colts will be on the clock soon after the start of the second round of the 2023 NFL draft looking to add more key pieces to either side of the ball.

With a rookie quarterback already introduced to the Circle City, there are several ways the Colts can go with their two selections—as of this writing—including a trade down from the No. 35 overall pick, which is certainly possible thanks to the slide of quarterbacks Will Levis and Hendon Hooker.

If either or both of those quarterbacks are still on the board, there’s a chance the Colts will receive a few calls to trade back.

Here are my predictions for the Colts on Day 2 of the draft:

What Day 2 mock drafts say the Jaguars will do in rounds 2 and 3

The Jaguars own the No. 56 and No. 88 picks in rounds two and three, respectively. What should they do with them?

The Jacksonville Jaguars addressed a need Thursday night when they picked offensive tackle Anton Harrison with the No. 27 overall selection. There are other areas that could use help, though.

The team is still thin in the defensive backfield after cutting ties with Shaquill Griffin. While the Jaguars have a starting duo in Tyson Campbell and Darious Williams, there isn’t much depth behind those two.

Jacksonville has also said improving its pass rush is “vital” and it’d make plenty of sense if the Jaguars wanted to add a tight end after allowing both Chris Manhertz and Dan Arnold to reach free agency.

In Day 2 mock drafts, experts think defensive backs and tight ends will be top priority for the Jaguars in rounds two and three:

NFL draft: Best remaining players on Forness’ big board

With the first round behind us, here are the best remaining players on managing editor Tyler Forness’ big board.

With just one pick on day two of the NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings have several options after selecting USC wide receiver Jordan Addison in the first round. The team could explore various directions, and there are ten remaining prospects that the Vikings could potentially consider.

Managing editor Tyler Forness put together a big board prior to the NFL draft beginning and there are still multiple players in his top 20 left on the board. Here are the top 10 players available on Forness’ big board.

30 best players available for Broncos on Day 2 of the NFL draft

The Broncos have a pair of picks to use on Day 2 of the NFL draft. Here are 30 prospects fans should keep an eye on Friday night.

After not making a pick in the first round of the 2023 NFL draft on Thursday night, the Denver Broncos are now set to make a pair of selections on Friday.

Denver has back-to-back picks (Nos. 67 and 68 overall) in the third round. The Broncos are without a second-round pick after including it as part of the trade for quarterback Russell Wilson with the Seattle Seahawks last year.

There are many notable prospects available going into Day 2 of the draft, including some intriguing candidates at Denver’s biggest positions of need. Before the draft, Broncos Wire identified cornerback, defensive line, center and running back as the team’s biggest draft needs.

Denver’s front office plans to draft based on its big board rankings, though, so there’s no guarantee that the Broncos will specifically target those listed positions. But if we swapped places with general manager George Paton, we’d target CBs, DLs, RBs and Cs at this point in the draft.

Here’s a quick list of 30 players to watch for on Day 2 of the draft.

Colts’ final 2023 NFL mock draft

A final look at a seven-round mock draft for the Colts.

The time is finally here. The Indianapolis Colts are set to embark on a wild journey with the start of the 2023 NFL draft, which means it’s time to make our final predictions.

I’m sure you all are sick of reading about mock drafts, and understandably so. At this point, we just want 8:00 p.m. ET to get here so we can stop speculating and predicting.

But with some time until the start of the draft, we’ll be releasing our final predictions. For this, we are considering two factors.

  1. Bryce Young and C.J. Stroud will go within the first three selections.
  2. The Colts will be walking away with a quarterback at No. 4 overall.

With that, here’s my final mock draft for the Colts ahead of the 2023 NFL draft:

Final Philadelphia Eagles 7-round mock ahead of 2023 NFL draft

The Philadelphia Eagles acquire a 2024 second-round pick, along with landing Jalen Carter and Jahmyr Gibbs in the Eagles Wire’s final seven-round mock draft

We’re just hours away from the 2023 NFL draft, where the Philadelphia Eagles are gearing up to welcome a new crop of players to the roster.

Using the draft simulator from Pro Football Network, we fought off the urge to draft Bijan Robinson, trading back from the 10th overall pick, into the Titans’ spot at No. 11 overall.

With the night finally upon us, here’s the Eagles Wire’s final seven-round mock ahead of Thursday night’s draft kickoff.

Ranking 5 options for each pick the Seahawks have in the 2023 NFL draft

So, let’s break down some of their options based on what they need and where they are picking.

The 2023 NFL draft begins tomorrow night in Kansas City. Heading in, few fanbases have more cause to be excited than the Seattle Seahawks. They hold 10 total selections and the most draft capital by far for any team that made the playoffs last season. That gives them an important opportunity to catch up with the true contenders in the NFC if they play their cards right.

Last year’s results were superb – and in fact it’s arguable no team did a better job in the modern era. Let’s see if they can double up with another strong draft and join the conference heavyweights.

So, let’s break down some of their options based on what they need and where they are picking. Here’s how we rank five potential targets that are projected to be in the range of each pick Seattle holds in the draft.

2023 NFL draft: The consensus big board top 75 prospects

20 cornerbacks Colts could target after Round 1 of NFL draft

Keep an eye on these CB prospects for the Colts on Days 2 and 3 of the draft.

Everyone is focused on which quarterback the Indianapolis Colts are going to leave with on Thursday night, but there are other holes on the roster that Chris Ballard will have to fill throughout the weekend.

One of the thinner position groups is at cornerback and with no veteran being added prior to the NFL draft (as of this writing), I wouldn’t be surprised if Ballard doubles down at corner. Especially when you consider that Kenny Moore II and Isaiah Rodgers Sr. will be free agents in 2024, the need is huge.

Devon Witherspoon, Christian Gonzalez, Joey Porter Jr., and Deonte Banks are all expected to get their names called in the first round so unless the Colts shock everyone and select one of them at No. 4 or in a trade-back scenario, they likely won’t be bringing their talents to Indianapolis.

This is considered a deep class at the position so there are plenty of options for Ballard to pick from on Day 2 and 3.

Here are just 20 of those cornerback prospects that Indy could draft this weekend:

12 cornerbacks Broncos could target in 2023 NFL draft

Here’s a quick list of 12 cornerbacks the Broncos could target during the 2023 NFL draft.

The top of the Denver Broncos’ cornerback depth chart looks solid — Pat Surtain is one of the best outside cornerbacks in the NFL, K’Waun Williams is an excellent slot cornerback and Damarri Mathis showed a lot of promise as a rookie last season.

Behind those three, though, Denver’s cornerback room includes names like Tremon Smith, Essang Bassey, Ja’Quan McMillian and Delonte Hood. Several of those players will likely make the Broncos’ 53-man roster this summer, but Denver needs more depth at the position.

Drafting another starting-caliber cornerback to play across from Surtain with Mathis being bumped to CB3 duties might be an ideal scenario. With that possibility in mind, here’s a quick list of 12 names to watch for during the NFL draft this week.

4-round NFL mock draft for the Los Angeles Chargers

Who will the Chargers select in the 2023 NFL draft? Check out this four-round mock draft prediction.

The 2023 NFL draft is less than a week away, so we are nearing the end of informing you who the Chargers could target while they’re on the clock.

With that being said, this is the final four-round mock draft before our last seven-round projections are released in a few days.
