Steph Curry’s teammate, Juan Toscano-Anderson, really started celebrating before he shot the ball

Talk about supreme confidence.

Stephen Curry is the best shooter of all-time so when he has the ball you should have the utmost confidence that he is about to do something good with the basketball as his teammate.

But, of course, no basket is guaranteed. Although, you couldn’t tell that to Warriors forward Juan Toscano-Anderson during Thursday night’s game against the Orlando Magic.

Curry was automatic in this one. He hit 10 3-pointers in the game and dropped 40 points in a 111-104 win for the Warriors.

One of those 3-pointers came off of a pass from Toscano-Anderson from the other side of the floor. And he was so confident that Stephen Curry would hit the shot that he started celebrating way before he actually took it.

That’s so wild. Talk about having extreme confidence in your squad.

Of course, we’ve seen this before with Draymond Green and even Curry himself. Still, it never gets old.

Watch: Juan Toscano-Anderson celebrates before Steph Curry lets go of open 3-pointer vs. Magic

Juan Toscano-Anderson couldn’t wait to celebrate a Steph Curry 3-pointer against the Orlando Magic.

During his 12th season in the association, Steph Curry continues to prove why he’s considered one of the greatest shooters in NBA history. On Thursday night against the Orlando Magic, Curry tied James Harden for an NBA record with four or more made 3-pointers in 13 consecutive games.

After hitting 10 triples on 19 attempts against the Magic at Chase Center, Curry is averaging six made 3-pointers on 50% shooting from beyond the arc during the 13 game stretch. Curry’s scorching run from long distance is giving his teammates a new level of faith.

With the Warriors leading by only a point in the fourth quarter, Juan Toscano-Anderson found Curry for an open 3-pointer. While the sharpshooting point guard pulled up and knocked down the triple, attention turned back to Toscano-Anderson.

Instead of Toscano-Anderson crashing for a rebound or trying to get back on defense, the Bay Area native began to celebrate the 3-point attempt before it left Curry’s hands.

Toscano-Anderson’s celebration proceeded to go viral when ESPN and Bleacher Report described him as “Steph’s teammate.”

Following Golden State’s 111-105 win over Orlando, both Curry and Toscano-Anderson had some fun on Twitter.

After playing a pivotal role in Golden State’s last five contests as a starter, Toscano-Anderson is quickly earning a name for himself. Along with making a consistent impact on defense, the Bay Area native is averaging 8.8 points on 51.3% shooting from the field with 8.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists per contest.

On Tuesday, Eric Paschall will join James Wiseman and Kevon Looney on the injury report in Dallas. The sophomore forward has been ruled out against the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night with right knee soreness.

Prior to tip-off in Dallas, Steve Kerr told reporters Paschall had a clean MRI on his knee after dealing with some swelling. The 25-year-old is considered day-to-day going forward. In 20 games, Paschall is averaging 10 points on 48.1% shooting from the field with 2.9 rebounds and 1.4 assists per contest.

Steve Kerr praises Juan Toscano-Anderson after performance vs. Celtics: ‘In my book, he’s not a two-way player’

After Juan Toscano-Anderson tallied 16 points against the Boston Celtics, Warriors coach Steve Kerr had high praise for the two-way forward.

After Kevon Looney suffered a sprained ankle on Tuesday night, the Golden State Warriors were left without a traditional center for the second half against the Boston Celtics.

With limited options, Steve Kerr called on Juan Toscano-Anderson to play small ball center off the bench. The Bay Area native didn’t waste his opportunity, scoring 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field with two boards, an assists, steal and block in 27 minutes. While tying his career-high in scoring, Toscano-Anderson drilled a trio of triples on three attempts.

Prior to entering the game against the Celtics, Toscano-Anderson last recorded minutes on Jan. 23 against the Utah Jazz. The Marquette product has been inactive at times to limit games on his two-way contract.

Following his impressive performance off the bench, Kerr had high praise for Toscano-Anderson.

Juan is just a fantastic competitor. He’s one of our smartest players in terms of just having a feel for the game at both ends. I love Juan. In my book, he’s not a two-way player, he’s a big part of our team and he showed why tonight. What a skill to be able to not even be active for 10 days or so and to come in and prepare day after day for his chance, and his chance comes and he goes out and kills it. That’s who Juan is. That’s why we love him.

With James Wiseman and Looney expected to miss a couple of games, the Warriors will need to lean on Toscano-Anderson in the frontcourt. The 27-year-old forward will likely see an expanded role during Golden State’s upcoming road trip that features a pair of two-game series in Dallas and San Antonio.

Warriors bringing back Juan Toscano-Anderson on two-way contract

Before the start of the 2020-21 NBA season, the Golden State Warriors are bringing back recently waived Juan Toscano-Anderson on a two-way contract.

Before the start of the 2020-21 NBA season, the Golden State Warriors are bringing back Juan Toscano-Anderson on a two-way contract.

On Saturday, the Warriors waived the Bay Area native on the final roster cutdown day. On Tuesday, Golden State added Toscano-Anderson with their final two-way contract. Toscano-Anderson will join rookie Nico Mannion as Golden State’s pair of players on two-way contracts.

Following the 2020 trade deadline, the Warriors signed Toscano-Anderson to a non-guaranteed contract. The 27-year-old averaged 5.3 points on 46% shooting from the field with four rebounds, two assists and one steal in 13 games for the Warriors last season. Growing up in Castro Valley, Toscano-Anderson quickly became a fan favorite in the Bay Area.

Prior to joining the Warriors, Toscano-Anderson was a member of Golden State’s G League affiliate in Santa Cruz. After going undrafted out of Marquette in 2015, Toscano-Anderson played in Mexico and Venezuela. In 2018, Toscano-Anderson was named Mexico’s LNBP

Most Valuable Player.

With Toscano-Anderson back, Steve Kerr will have another versatile option that can play minutes at multiple positions. With Eric Paschall and Draymond Green sidelined during a preseason game against the Kings, Kerr gave Toscano-Anderson the start at power forward. With Green injured to start the season, Toscano-Anderson can provide depth behind Paschall, Andrew Wiggins and Kelly Oubre Jr.

Golden State Warriors waive forward Juan Toscano-Anderson

Before the opening of the 2020-21 NBA season, the Golden State Warriors have waived Bay Area native Juan Toscano-Anderson.

Although he started a game in the preseason, the Golden State Warriors are waiving forward Juan Toscano-Anderson before the start of the 2020-21 regular season.

After playing for Golden State’s G League affiliate in Santa Cruz since 2018, the Bay Area native joined the Warriors’ NBA rotation in February on a non-guaranteed deal.

Toscano-Anderson played 13 games for the Warriors, averaging 5.3 points on 46% shooting from the field with four rebounds, two assists in 20.9 minutes per game. Against the New Orleans Pelicans, the Marquette product scored a career-high 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting with three triples, eight rebounds, three assists and two blocks in 28 minutes.

Growing up in Castro Valley, Toscano-Anderson quickly became a fan favorite during his stint with the Warriors in 2020. After practice on Saturday, Steve Kerr called it “a very, very difficult decision” to waive the 27-year-old forward.

A very, very difficult decision for us. Juan [Toscano-Anderson] is a favorite of mine because he knows how to play basketball and he’s a winner — he makes plays. He’s not a guy that fills up the stat sheet, but he just makes plays and competes and makes the team better. Unfortunately, we don’t have a total number of roster spots that would allow keeping everybody. So this is the direction we’re going in.

Listen to Kerr’s full post-practice presser via Warriors SoundCloud.

Despite being waived, there’s still a chance Toscano-Anderson could rejoin the Warriors on a two-way contract. If Toscano-Anderson goes unclaimed on waivers, the Warriors will have the opportunity to bring him back on a two-way deal.

With Toscano-Anderson hitting the waiver wire, one of the Warriors’ final roster spots will likely go to Mychal Mulder. With Klay Thompson injured, the Warriors rotation desperately needs a shooter of Mulder’s caliber. During the preseason, the Kentucky product shot 4-of-6 from beyond the arc.

Golden State will tipoff the regular season on Tuesday, Dec. 22, in New York against the Brooklyn Nets.

Photos: Steph Curry working out with Jeremy Lin, Eric Paschall, Marquese Chriss and others

At a recent offseason workout, Steph Curry was on the court with past and current Warriors including Jeremy Lin, Eric Paschall and others.

With the opening day of the 2020-21 NBA season set in place, players are putting the finishing touches on an unprecedented offseason.

After only playing in five games with the Golden State Warriors in the 2019-20 campaign due to injuries, Stephen Curry will be making his long-awaited return to Steve Kerr’s rotation when the new season starts in December.

Before he laces up in his No. 30 Warriors jersey at Chase Center in San Francisco, Curry was spotted on the court with current and former teammates at a preseason workout.

On Tuesday, Bay Area photographer Jordan Jimenez shared two sets of photos on Instagram featuring the NBA’s two-time Most Valuable Player alongside Eric Paschall, Marquese Chriss, Kevon Looney, Juan Toscano-Anderson and Alen Smailagic.

In the series of photos, Jimenez captured Curry shooting, Paschall driving for a layup, Chriss backing down Toscano-Anderson and more

Along with the members of the Warriors, free-agent wing Jeremy Lin was involved with the workout. In late October, the veteran point guard was linked to Golden State for a potential return to the Bay Area in 2020-21.

Warriors use Chase Center’s massive video scoreboard to play NBA 2K inside The Dubble

While the Warriors are inside The Dubble, Damion Lee and Juan Toscano-Anderson got to use Chase Center’s video scoreboard to play NBA 2K.

Over the last two weeks, members of the Golden State Warriors have returned to the Bay Area for a voluntary offseason minicamp.

Golden State’s players and coaches are residing in a campus-like atmosphere in San Francisco. When they’re not scrimmaging or going through drills on the court at practice, the Warriors need to fill their time inside the Bay Area edition of the Orlando Bubble.

On Saturday, a pair of Warriors transformed Chase Center into their own personal gaming room. Damion Lee and Juan Toscano-Anderson used the arena’s center court scoreboard monitor to play a game of NBA 2K. Lee and Toscano-Anderson matched up between the New Orleans Pelicans and the Indiana Pacers.

Via @warriors on Twitter:

Chase Center’s video monitor is currently the largest center court display in the NBA, standing at 9,699 square feet.

If the players or coaches don’t decide to play NBA 2K, the Warriors have converted a room at Chase Center into a player’s lounge for the duration of camp. The lounge features games like cornhole, ping pong and pool.

The Warriors will close out camp inside “The Dubble” on Tuesday, Oct. 6.

Members of the Golden State Warriors react to the Nuggets vs. Jazz wild Game 7

Following the wild finish of game seven between the Jazz and the Nuggets, Eric Paschall and Juan Toscano-Anderson chimed in on Twitter.

On Tuesday, the Denver Nuggets and Utah Jazz capped off one of the most entertaining series from the first round of the playoffs. Although Donovan Mitchell and the Jazz jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the series, Jamal Murray helped push the Nuggets to force an improbable game seven.

With a back and forth contest in the second half, game seven between the Nuggets and the Jazz lived up to the hype. Despite Denver’s 14 point lead at halftime, a Utah comeback stretched the game to its final possession.

A smooth turnaround hook from Nikola Jokic gave Denver the lead with 27 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. The Jazz failed to convert two attempts at tying or winning the game, ending the contest and their season, 80-78.

During and after game seven, a trio of Golden State Warriors weighed in on the performances between the Jazz and Nuggets.

Eric Paschall had praise for the Jazz-Nuggets series. The Golden State rookie also paid respect to Utah point guard Donovan Mitchell.

Juan Toscano-Anderson putting in work to become the Warriors next ‘Splash Cousin’

While the NBA is returning to the court in the Orlando Bubble, Juan Toscano-Anderson is working to become the Warriors next “Splash Cousin.”

While 22 teams make their return to action at Disney World, the Golden State Warriors are at home. With the league’s worst record, the Warriors are one of eight teams on the outside of the NBA Bubble.

Although the Warriors won’t be partaking in the NBA’s restart, members of Golden State are staying busy in the gym. With Chase Center reopening its doors for individual work, members of the Warriors have been spotted working out at Golden State’s practice facility.

During the Warriors’ extended offseason, Juan Toscano-Anderson has been trying to get on Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson’s level. When the Golden State Warriors shared a pair of photos with Toscano-Anderson and Jordan Poole working out at the Chase Center, the Bay Area native said he’s trying to become a “Splash Cousin.”
